HD-Voice XRN3 Qualcomm - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Does the anybody know how to enable/disable HD-Voice (AMR-WB) for making a call in 2G/3G network at the latest MIUI ROM 8.1.1.0?

Hd voice is Lte feature

No, it is not only LTE feature. HD-Voise as term is mentioned using G.722.2 as its wideband codec during a voice call and calls it Advanced Multirate – Wideband (AMR-WB).
AMR-WB has been standardized 3GPP for using in GSM and UMTS networks as well as in LTE.
For example T-Mobile became the first GSM/UMTS based network in the US to enable AMR-WB.
Please refer to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wideband_audio and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adaptive_Multi-Rate_Wideband

I tryed to make a voice call in 3G network using Mi5s plus phone and HD-voice works as well. So its mentioned that our device just not support this feature in the last official ROM.

[Q] Multi APN in UMTS

Does Android support Multi-APN function in UMTS network?
which means the mobile phone activate two (or more) primary PDP contexts belong to different APNs.
for instance, in LTE networks, for IMS based VoLTE, it's pretty common for two primary PDPs
one for SIP signaling and another for voice.
but is it possible for UMTS network?
when you downloading via "internet" APN, an APP tries to activate another PDP by APN "wap"
will the "inernet" PDP context been deactivated or not?

Band 12 forcing ?

Is there any menu that allows us to force band 12 LTE connectivity?
On the Samsung devices *#2263# allowed selecting of the band.
Also, I assume the Z4 does not have VoLTE? When making a call it drops to hspa wcdma etc. Same as when it receives a call. Or it's not provisioned by T mobile due to e911 etc that I've read.
On T mobile.
Cheers.

[Honor 9N] How to enable LTE only option in settings.

Honor 9N is a latest budget phone from Huawei Honor.
For Indian customers, it comes with network settings as 4 options ( LTE/WCDMA/GSM Auto), (WCDMA, GSM Auto), (WCDMA only) and (GSM only).
While the network signal is weak we don't get LTE band as it jumps down to the lower signal WCDMA or GSM.
Here I will explain how to enable LTE only option in settings.
Steps:
Download the app : Settings database editor
Scroll down and look for "hw_networkmode_preference" and change its value from "9,3,2,1" to "9,3,2,1,11". save it.
Then restart your device.
Now the LTE only option will be available in Settings > Mobile Network.
Remember one thing : You will no longer receive or make a call when you are in LTE only signal. It's because only Jio supports 4G calls (VoLTE).
If you are using any other Network Service like Vodafone In, Idea... Etc, use LTE only option only when it's needed and change into ( LTE/WCDMA/GSM Auto) later to receive calls.
Thanks.:victory:
Screen shot from my Honor 9N.
Values : 9,3,2,1,11,12
Gives :
LTE/WCDMA/GSM Auto
WCDMA/GSM Auto
WCDMA Only
GSM Only
LTE Only
LTE/WCDMA Auto
Changing LTE bands
I bought Honor 9N in India. To my disappointment, I cannot use it with T-Mobile in the U.S. Is there any way to change it? (Full confession: My knowledge of software/hardware is pretty poor)

Volte problems with Vodafone India

Although Voda says Poco F1 does not support Voda Volte , it works although with problems for me.
No issues with outgoing calls, 4g keeps on working, hd call displayed when calling another Volte enabled number.
Incoming calls do not work on Volte and network switches to 3g/2g when calls come.
Anybody else having this issue or using Voda india and mention their experience.

4g is working fine. I meant Volte. Incoming calls switch over to 3g/2g network whereas outgoing continues with 4g
Run the below code in your dialer app manually. You should see a message stating "Volte Carrier check disable" else run the code again.
After 30 seconds your volte network should be retored. Pull down the notification bar to check for the volte symbol.
