My phone was running fine until my battery has run out. I charged it over night and when I woke up I i saw that the LG logo was on the screen. I can't do anything Because the battery is not removable . Is there any way to hard reset it with PC software or anything else

Ok so you probably did do full reset before sbf
all you have to do is go into recovery mode(you should get a triangle with a ! in it and an android icon) and press both volume buttons at the same time and a menu will come up chose factory reset

Hi all,
I would like to ask advice from you all regarding my sgs3 situation below
My sgs3 is a stock one, never root or whatsoever before.
This evening, there is an update from samsung application and i update my sgs3. I did not restart them as normally it will restart itself before once completed. After few hours, i found out my sgs 3 turn to boot screen black background with white font sgs3. I remove battery and put back, then start phone again, but it still shows boot screen.
Then later, i try removing battery again, then put back and connect to the charger at home, it shows the charging indication, but never turn to green that i do not what happened and my sgs3 still cannot boot. Then, i try to do restore factory setting by push simultaneously power, volume up and home button. But, the boot logo will appear, gone, and appear again and again.
I do not know what happened to my sgs3. Any idea?
turn off phone
press home + volume up + power

Try wiping cache partition and dalvic cache
That's "funny"!
I have exactly the same problem, just as you describe.
Can't do anything. No indication that it charges what so ever.
Dead as a Dodo!!
At the moment I'm downloading the last official firmware and will try to flash that one.
If it doesn't work, I will have to leave the phone to a service center.
I will let you know how it worked out!
Don't loose the faith!!

No luck with re-flashing....
It did not work for me i'm afraid.
Sending it in for repairs on Monday!

Noted. Will send to service centre today
The same thing happened to me just now. I was running Task650's AOKP Build 1/1/2013 totally stock (stock AOKP kernel, no OC or UV), I had to Odin back to UCALG1, and even then, the phone would get stuck in the "Samsung Galaxy SIII" splash screen. I had to reboot to stock recovery, Wipe Data/Factory Reset and Wipe Cache for the phone to boot up.
Just wanted to put this here, maybe it will be of help to someone.

I hope that you are aware that you also suffer from SDS!? (Sudden Death Syndrome)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1993044
Just leave your phone to a certified Samsung service center and they will change the main board for you (for free).
Hopefully I will get mine back sometime next week!! :fingers-crossed:
All the best

Reset?
ANyone know how to do a factory reset? I go into Setting under back up and reset and perform the process and the phone just shuts down and nothing appears to happen.
Method 2: I also powered off and the power on holding vol up and home and the screen just goes black. I believe that I am supposed to see the stock recovery, correct? However, I just see black. Anyone else?
ANy Ideas?

Yes - I just read that rooting blows away the stock recovery (at least makes it invisible) but it is supposedly still there

Found this is the CF-Auto Root thread posted by another member and it worked:
FYI for everyone wanting to do a reset or something. The recovery is still there, we just can't view it correctly.
The steps to do a reset:
Volume down - 4 times
Power Button
Volume down - 7 times
Power Button
Then wait 30 seconds or so and hit the power button again to reboot.

What happens when you plug in the charger? Also, try holding the power button for 30 seconds. If you connect to PC, is it recognized?

Since gaining the battery screen, have you now tried to reenter recovery mode? Try using the recovery mode button combo again and see if recovery will boot.

I am not sure of the exact combination for your device, as it varies for every device. Either Google search how to boot your model into recovery, or just try different combinations. Power+volume down or up, or possibly all 3.

Try to be patient and let the format complete. It can take a while, depending on your internal storage capacity.

Do you have a "wipe cache partition" option in recovery? If so, try that as well. I must admit, this has me a bit perplexed. Since the only thing you've done, is a factory reset, there's really no reason for this error.

I am stumped. If it is an option, search and see if it is possible to flash the factory firmware to your device. Otherwise, sadly, I am out of suggestions.

Again, sadly, I am out of suggestions. Perhaps return for a warranty repair. Contact the manufacturer and explain that all you did was a factory reset and the device has become unresponsive.

ok thank you for all your help.
I have the H933 variant of the V30. I want to wipe the partition cache after the Oreo update. I have tried the Pwr + down arrow. And then release power button and hold again at the boot screen. The only option I have is to factory reset the phone. I don't get the normal recovery options. Any help would be appreciated.

When I reboot into recovery, I am given the same choice on my US998. I choose factory reset, then I choose factory reset again. After all that, I get a screen that shows the "unlocked device" message for a moment and then finally TWRP.
I have had a situation where TWRP was NOT installed and when I did this my phone was completely erased...
Since then I have installed Quick Reboot Pro (free!) from the Google Play store. If your phone is rooted it gives you an option to boot into recovery. It goes straight to recovery and doesn't need any of the other (risky in my opinion) steps

i succeeded only when gave up and approved Factory Reset then it finally switched to Recovery mode. Took 1 hour to find out, not a single guide on the internet or here was correct. I wonder if the reset really happened? Is reset prerequisite to run recovery mode?

Not if you are rooted. If the WTF guide I tell people to install a reboot recovery app that will take them straight to recovery.

worst case you could always use fastboot...
if your phone has twrp recovery, then it won't reset the phone. if you are running stock it will.
Agree with chazz though, assuming you have root and a bootable rom - reboot recovery is the best option
I never did really figure out why the lg phones can't boot directly into recovery using the buttons
If you install a terminal app, you can also get into recovery that way - "su" and then "reboot recovery".
I posted this on yt
I just realized magisk has the option to reboot to recovery. I've only used super su in the past.
well of course we have tons of apps, and recovery choice in power menu. but the boot shortcuts is the concern. those really suck.. can't even memorize them. need to write it down on the back of the phone
+1 here for confusion. I uninstalled Magisk after it strangely stopped working during the night and also could only to fastboot. After googling I also did the button dance to reset and yes then yes then got to twrp.
Nothing lost but strange way to go on (rooted device)
Actually, as I thought I had reset everything I updated to 21a so wasn't an entirely wasted 30 mins or so
