Okay so my Oneplus X is broke , the screen is broken and I can't see anything, fully blank.
But surprisingly the touch works,I can say this because I pressed the power button and swiped up and randomly tried my pattern with a guess of where the pattern dots are (You get the idea if you unlock your mobile 100 times a day).
I cannot afford to replace my display as Oneplus CC says it will cost approx Rs.8000/-
I checked with the local shops if they have the 2nd quality display which is usually around Rs.2000.
But I couldn't find it anywhere and even the shopkeepers in the market told me that there is no cheap quality display available for Oneplus X.I even checked on ebay and amazon.
So all I can do is backup the data from oneplus X and move on to a new phone.
I successfully unlocked my device and connected via USB cable so i could just copy paste all the files to my drive .(I have all the drivers installed) But it wasn't displaying any of my data (Check the Screenshot below)

I am assuming it goes to charging mode at default when connected via USB and to change to 'Media Transfer' I need to be able to see the screen.
So I searched for hours over the internet , came across this Chrome extension called 'Vysor' which can cast the mobile screen on your pc via USB but unfortunately it requires USB Debugging to be turned on and nope I haven't turned it on in the past.
Came across another way to cast mobile screen on TV using MHL (Micro USB to HDMI).But again none of Oneplus devices support MHL.
So I pretty much feel hopeless right now.If there's anyone who can solve this problem of mine I will consider you as GOD

after unlocking ur phone u need to manually change to mtp orelse it ll stay in charging mode only.
if u have twrp installed as recovery,u can access all your data by going to recovery mode and connecting usb to PC.

I'm not able to manually change to mtp and I don't have a custom recovery
You could in theory put your phone in bootloader mode by pressing volume up after power on. As long as your bootloader is unlocked could flash TWRP and boot into it with ADB commands. Then you could access files.
yeah the above solution thts possible but only if u have unlocked bootloader
or just try this, afr unlocking ur phone, swipe down and open ur notification panel,at the bottom, mode changing menu ll be der, when u press it,it ll popup changing menu,2nd one is for mtp u need to press it.. i dont know hw u r goin to do.. still possible. its easy if u hv another opx with u. u can simulate
Exactly same situation
I'm in exactly same position as mentioned by OP. Any pointers- I was exploring option of hdmi cable , before buying wanted to know if it helped anyone.
you have non rooted phone so only solution is to cast the display..
you can access the settings via notification drawer... so somehow cast it on tv or anything
if possible get reference from another OPX or similar phone
PS try getting into stock recovery and then connect your phone to PC

Hey guys, managed to root my htc hero fine. Running Villain Rom 5.5.
Has worked fine for me for ages. However today whenever i plug in the usb cable i do not get the option showing me which method i would like the cable to work. i.e the menu which says htc sync, mass storage, charge only etc.
This just wont appear. Ive restarted the phone, tried different usb ports and a different cable. I did today go through some programs and turn off some options i thought were uneeded. May have switched something off, but ive retraced what i could remember and found nothing.
I have used the following apps recently to deal with the system:
Advanced Task Killer
Auto Memory Manager
Auto Killer
SetCPU
Startup Manager
Spare Parts
May have done a bit of overkill with all those but my hero is running really quick. Have Apps2SD running as well.
Hopefully its just a box ive unticked or something easily fixable.
Thanks in advance guys
-Indy
Slight update. The USB-MS toggle on the recovery menu does work. So it can connect i must be missed or have deactivated something.
Any ideas guys?
I don't think the problem will be with Spare Parts or SetCPU.
If it doesn't work straight after a restart it leads me to believe its the STARTUP MANAGER.
.... and these 3,... are they all task killers?
Advanced Task Killer
Auto Memory Manager
Auto Killer
I was told its not wise to run more than one as it can cause conflicts.
So dont worry about Spare Parts or SetCPU.
But kill those 3 and see if you still get the problem. If you do then its likely to be the startup manager.
What do you have the startup manager managing at the moment?
I removed ATK and rebooted the hero with no luck.
Auto Memory Manager - Task Killer
Auto Killer - fine tunes inner memory
The list in startup manager is as follows:
user section:
java
sim toolkit
ak notepad
antivirus
autokiller
lockbot pro
setcpu
system section
facebook
android system
clock
htc widget download manager
willainrom updater
htc media uploader
updater
settings
open sense plugin manager
network location
messages (3 times for some reason)
my uploads
media storage
media storage
rosie utility
sync feeds
google partner
drm protected contect storage
download manager
dm command service
calender storage
calender
bluetooth share
Customise:
nothing
Ill remove Auto Memory Manager and reset and see if this works. Have a look at the lists above and let me know what u recommend
Update:
Removed Auto Memory Manager, ATK and Auto Killer. Turned off the Hero and then back on, but still nothing.

Did you try uninstalling the startup thing?
Another thing,... Have you plugged it in the USB, then looked in Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager
to see if you have any big yellow

Indy, I had the same problem. At first, i thought it was a software a issue and tried headset toggle (which fixed it temporarily). After one call came back again, even after restarting phone.
When I plugged USB lead in it will charge but not connect to pc.
Then I discovered something on android forums by someone that advised to take apart the hero (5 small (5) torq screws and one phillips) then prong up from the top.
What happens is the usb connection inside is protected by a sticky brown tape that gets all dust and dirt into it. I lifted up the tape and cleaned it with some cotton buds with (very) slight alcohol on. This did the trick for 2 months then dirt got in again. Cleaned thoroughly again and works fine now. Could maybe try to put a better tape on top.
Or if still under warranty and can't be bothered just contact your provider. For me had small screw driver set so didn't mind.

Thats my exact problem. Charges and recognises its usb but doesnt give me options to connect to the pc.
Its still under the warranty but i really cannot be arsed to remove the rooted firmware and reinstall the old 1 and then redo it again after.
Dunno if i really wanna open it up. Plus it works when i goto the recovery screen by pressing home and power when the phones off. The mount sd as mass storage option. Therefore surely its an option and not the usb port itself right?
I know for sure that when I have the problem I cannot get any usb pc sync including recovery mode (End call and Home) usb mass.
Indy when you make a call can then receiver hear you talk?
I removed PCSCII from /system/app and notification to mount SD card no longer appears. Probably pushing PCSCII.apk may fix it but what I've done is downloaded "automount" from market (free). Put check on "Enable SD Card Auto-Mounting" option. Whenever the phone is connected, it appears as removable drive as before.
Hope this help.

Ok thankfully the mount the sd card now works. Im extremely grateful, thanks a lot!
If i was to change my rom, would i still be able to seeing as the htc sync doesnt work?
Many from this site may have purchased a BlutO case. It is a case with a bluetooth keyboard in it.
There seems to be a problem with the USB charging cable. Mine does not charge the keyboard when plugged into a USB port of my netbook. The seller of these has contacted his supplier about this. In the meantime, I have read that a similar cable made for an Apple product will work. If someone can post more specific details on this, it would help.
I am using the BlutO on stock Tap'nTap firmware (4349). I installed the recommended BlueInput app to handle the bluetooth keyboard. When I went to Settings>Language & keyboard, it showed the Blueinput with an unchecked box. Selecting it does not put a check in the box.
I experienced the same thing when trying to install an alternate keyboard in a stock firmware. The problem is that the keyboard apps install in the /data/app folder. A keyboard app must be installed in the /system/app folder. The solution to this is to copy teksoft.blueinput-1.apk from the /data/app folder into the /system/app folder. You need to use a file manager where you can change the /system/app folder to R/W. I use Root Explorer.
After copying the app, delete the original in /data/app, then reboot.
To enable the bluetooth keyboard, first select the search icon on the right side (the magnifying glass). Long-press the search bar and a message "Edit text: Input method" will appear. Select "Input method", and a screen showing available input methods pops up. If the BlueInput app is installed, it should show as a choice. Select it and enjoy the keyboard. Use the same method to switch back to the Tap 'n Tap keyboard, or install other keyboard apps using this same method.
ENJOY!!

I was the first to report this issue and the workaround to Steve; I am using the usb cable for my iPod Touch (the connector for the iPod is the same as the connector for the keyboard) and it works just fine. If you have an iPod or iPhone the usb cable for that device should work on the keyboard without any issues.
I have investigated this further. The end of the cable that plugs into the keyboard comes apart fairly easily. Here is a picture, but I did not take note of the orientation of the white symbol on the outside before I took it apart (sorry).

I used the information on an Apple cable, from here:
http://forums.ilounge.com/ipod-monochrome/59754-usb-cable-pinout-someone-usb-cable-please-help.html
It appears that this cable is the same as the one in that thread. He does have the USB pinouts backwards, they should be this:
1 -> 8 (red) 5VDC+
2 -> 6 (white) Data-
3 -> 4 (green) Data+
4 -> 15 (black) Ground
EDIT: I just noticed that this doesn't match the picture!!
I plugged mine into a USB port on my netbook, and checked the cable. It does have 5VDC at the back of the connector. My probes (and my fingers) are too big to measure the actual pins in the front of the connector. So I still don't know why this doesn't work.
i just noticed. My picture doesn't match the pinouts that I listed below it!!
It looks like the red (5VDC+) and white (Data-) wires are swapped!! This may be why it doesn't work.
I swapped the red and white wires, and now the keyboard will charge!
Since the cable has the two Data wires connected, I suspect that this keyboard could also be used as a USB keyboard. I hope that the mis-wiring didn't damage that ability.
I tried it as a USB keyboard, and it isn't recognized by my netbook. Can someone who didn't have trouble with the cable try it as a USB keyboard, and see if it works?
Now that I have everything fixed, I can no longer get the keyboard to work.
I think that it is the BlueInput app that is not working correctly.
Are you trying to use the keyboard while it's connected with the USB cable? That may be confusing things because the tablet will accept input from a USB keyboard.
I have the keyboard working wirelessly with BlueInput. Haven't messed with the charging cable yet.

No, in fact i have tried to use it that way, and it doesn't work. I think that the mis-wired cable may have damaged that.
I have re-installed BlueInput, and copied it to the /system/app folder. I can select it as an input method, but typing on it now in Search gives me nothing. And if I try to switch back it won't let me, I have to reboot to switch back to the TnT keyboard. This doesn't seem right.
When I go into the Settings->Wireless & networks->Bluetooth settings, It shows the keyboard "Paired but not connected". I deleted that connection and went back to Blueinput and scanned. It connected again, and FINALLY it worked again in the Search bar. This time the Settings section shows nothing. When I tried using it inside of the browser, it didn't work again. It seems to loose the connection very quickly. I am then unable to establish the connection again.

I have a gtab with tnt Lite v4.4.0 and have installed bluetooth keyboard easy connect. I go to the Settings/wireless&networks/bluetooth settings, press connect on keyboard (flashing blue light), scan for devices & select bluetooth keyboard (pair with this device). Then get popup "bluetooth pairing request". have tried 0000 1111 1234 and various combinations.
When pairing with my netbook they keyboard sends a numeric code for me to enter which allows it to pair. So with Android, what is different? What am I doing wrong??
Bluto keyboard not working
I received my Bluto keyboard a couple of days ago and can not get it to connect to the gTablet. I am running TnTLite 4.2.4. I could not get it to work using the bluetooth software on the tablet (I also get "paired but not connected" message). I then installed the BlueInput software and it still doesn't work. When I type on the keyboard, I do get a clicking sound on the gTablet, however, no typed characters show up on the gTablet screen. The charging cable that came with the keyboard also did not work, but I used an iPod to USB cable and that worked ok for charging the keyboard. I did not expect a problem in connecting the keyboard to the gTablet -- it shouldn't be this hard to make work. There should be some software or at least some instructions that came with the keyboard. I sent an e-mail to the company that sold me the keyboard and so far have not received a response.

If you get that clicking sound but no characters, you have a connection and blueinput is registering your keystrokes but it is not currently set up as your input method in Android. Tap on any text input field with your finger to engage the edit mode, then press and hold your finger in the editable area. After a couple of seconds, you should get a popup window with a list of available input methods. Select blueinput and then back out. (There is no [Ok] button)
Now you should have clicks and characters when you press a key. You can repeat this at any time to change your input method e.g. when you want to use the on-screen keyboard.

I was able to charge mine, after changing the wiring on the supplied cable. I don't believe that is what is causing the disconnections.
This may not work on stock firmware, or firmware derived from stock (TnT lite). Has anybody tried it on a Vegan firmware?
I just now tried mine with the charge cable plugged in and while the charge light does not stay illuminated, the keyboard does now stay connected and active.
Perhaps the cable is correctly wired and this is an issue with the charge light?
I am asking Steve about this in email.. will post back if/when I learn more.

I use the non-meat eater
I'm not too sure about random disconnections but I do know that I have to re-pair each time I want to use a BT device. I quit using the blueinput and use a script that I just run each time for my mouse and it works every time. it basically finds the MAC address of the BT device then you manually attach it. Once you know that it works you can use gscript or script manager (market) to write it and 'one click run' since the MAC will never change
This can be done through ADB or directly on a rooted tab; the following is done directly on the tab. If you want ADB instructions just lemmie know.
You will need: ROOT, a file explorer that will change permissions, terminal (market), gscript or script manager (market)
- Download this zip, extract, and use root explorer (or other method) to place the three files in /system/xbin
- Change the permissions for all three files to 4755 (in root explorer its the three left and three top checked)
*** Turn on BT on TAB / Select connect on BT device ***
(what you type is in RED)
- open Terminal and type su (to make sure you have superuser permissions)
# cd /system/xbin (get you to the right directory)
To test that your binaries are working, you can type hciconfig and it will show you something like the following including the MAC address of your bt radio.
Code:
# hciconfig
hci0: Type: UART
BD Address: 00:1A:13:0F:88:12 ACL MTU: 1021:6 SCO MTU: 64:1
UP RUNNING PSCAN
RX bytes:14752 acl:325 sco:0 events:729 errors:0
TX bytes:4851 acl:33 sco:0 commands:263 errors:0
Then use the hcitool to get the MAC address of your keyboard (you only have to do this once).
Code:
# hcitool scan
Scanning ...
00:07:61:4B7:CE Logitech diNovo Keyboard
once you know the MAC address of the keyboard you want to connect, create a little script (I use gscript for ease of use) that connects the device using the hidd binary. then verify you are connected.
Code:
# hidd --connect 00:07:61:4B7:CE (your MAC)
# hcitool con
Connections:
< ACL 00:07:61:4B7:CE handle 12 state 1 lm MASTER
Voila. you don't have to change input device or anything - you can use the bt keyboard interchangeably with the soft keyboard.
credit to prscott who posted this quite some time ago and I've used it religiously.
Thanks, Steve, I'll have to give that a try.
I see that those are basically Linux commands. I know a lot about wireless connections in Linux, but I never had any need to learn about Bluetooth in Linux. That is until now.
A link for those still having BlueInput issues is here
Hopefully this will help come
How do we know if the keyboards are charging? Are we getting replacements or do we need to do that on our own?
I think that the light should be solid when charging. Replacement cales are on the way (should be here wednesday). I would recommend grabbin a $5 iPod cable at Ross or Marshalls for those who dont want to wait
Hey guys,
So I have this problem where my system crashes without me doing anything (just looking at an app, etc). For a second then, I see my home wallpaper, then the display goes off. If I press the home/power button it laggs like hell and tries to show the lockscreen (slowly building the interface up). I cant swipe to unlock because the lockscreen timer passes before the homescreen is even correctly displayed and can respond to my input.
If I do a hard reset, it's the same thing all over again after I entered my sim code. Except when I manage to turn on flight mode, then the lagging stops almost immediately any I can log in.
The crashes also happen when I turn lockscreen off. It then also shows my home wallpaper for a second and then returns to what I was doing (lag and stuttering included).
I tried to install antivir software and did a scan, nothing found. I looked in the process statistics in the developer settings and the first entry was com.android.keyguard.keyguardwallpaper eating 80% of my cpu usage.
How can I even get to know what happens during this crashes? I had the idea of using the adb shell on my desktop to view live process statistics or some crash log files, but didn't tried that yet.
I hope you can offer me some tips or help with this
Thank you!
Did you try using Odin to restore the stock firmware? It is not the easiest tool to use, but it fixes most problems that arise.
Did you find out what did this? I got the exact same problem as you describe.
The only difference is that I got the normal galaxy s6 and not the edge.
I still got stock ROM and even did return my phone to factory settings, but it keeps happening.
The same things happens to me. GS6 flat. I sent it to the assistance. It comes back and works fine for some days, now it has the same problem again.
I tried also to restore to the factory firmware using odin and doing an hard reset before the flashing process and another one after but the problem is still here. Do you think it's an hardware's problem or a software's one?
I haven't got a clue.
I was hoping it had something to do with the software, but since it happens on other ROM's I'm starting to lean more to hardware.
I've also seen several posts around the web when searching google what I could do about it and found a lot about the SGS6 acting sluggish, and that's also how I found this post. And OP describes exactly what happens to my phone + the sluggishness.
I'm going to the shop where I bought it later this week and hear what they got to say, and if there is anything they can do.
I'm starting to remove a cuple of unuseable apps. After the 5.1.1's update I noticed that timely doesn't work. I tried to install redbull alert but it doesn't work. With these apps sometimes the alarm-clock rings with some minutes of delay, sometimes instead doesn't ring. I'm thinking (I home) there is some problem with samsung's clock. Do you have some kind of alternative alarm clock installed?
At first I had, but after the Factory reset I did not install all the apps I use like before, but only the most essential ones.
The alarm I used when I first got the phone was Gentle Alarm, the alarm worked fine on that one.
At least I haven't noticed if it at any time it did not.
At first I thought it was an app I got called Huepro since the crapware that was on the SGS6 told me that it made errors, but I emailed with the dev of that app, and he couldn't tell me what the error was, and the description is pretty vague to say the least.

At first I uninstalled it, and only controlled my light from the PC or my tablet, but since the SGS6 still was sluggish and unresponsive and did the "reboot to lock screen", after I did the factory reset I reinstalled the app Huepro, and it haven't made any errors since according to "smart manager" or whatever it's called, and the app haven't got an update since the first time.
You are right. It worked fine until 10 minutes ago, then it crashed again. I didn't touch the phone. It crashed by itself from the standby.
The assistance can do anything. I tried that way but as I write some posts ago the s6 worked fine for some weeks then it started again to crash. The paper I received with the phone tells that all tests are passed and the hardware is ok.
Do you know if there is a way to obtain a replacement on warranty by samsung?
Try without a sim or with another sim, might help.
I had quite a few issues with faulty sim cards in the past that made no sense: internet connection dropping at random intervals but only in certain areas, phones acting sluggish, sudden battery drains...
This morning I wiped the cache partition. Until now the phone is working fine... For the SIM I'm changing the mobile operator 'cause I thought that the issue maybe the SIM card. Today the portability shoud be complete but, right now I'm still on the old operator. Maybe there's some problemi with the portability. I written ti the Vodafone support on twitter and I'm waiting for the reply but I think the portability will be complete in some days.
Someone was lucky with the assistance?
Still happening here, not as often though after the last update.
So my guess is that it's something that they're working on. (Or I'm just lucky for once).
Me too but today, for example, is a bad day! The S6 worked fine until Android 5.0.4 (included). I guess too is a software problem but I'm starting to think it's some hardware issue. Battery for example or memory or motherboard.

There is no such thing as android 5.0.4; it is supposed to go straight from 5.0.2 to 5.1
Yes, maybe it was 5.0.2, I don't remember but I'm talking about the last build before 5.1. It works very well.
Right now I got 5.1.1 and this update have "only" crashed once since I got it, not like the last one where it happened quite often.
I'm still not sure what's doing it, but at least the "smart manager" stopped giving me advice about what makes errors awhile ago.
I have same problem...s6 freezes when playing podcast. Seems this is more common than I realized. Went to sprint replaced phone...same problem.
Get into the safe mode. Then return the normal mode.
Hi everyone.
I have seen some topics about similar issues, however descriptions were kind of short and lacked details, so I am starting this new clear topic hoping somebody can shed some light.
My phone:
- Model: Moto Z.
- Baseband: M8996_1239.53.01.126R SRD
- Kernel: 3.18.31-perf-g1403404-00036-g20e6d7c [email protected] #1
- Security patch: April 1st 2017
- Compilation: NPLS25.86-30-12
Comments:
- Came with Marshmallow, I upgraded it to Nougat two or three weeks ago.
- Used Bluetooth on Nougat perfectly.
- All good until yesterday.
The problem:
- It started last night.
- Only thing I did yesterday that was different from other days is running Play Music, which I had not even opened before. I know this sounds stupid but I do not want to leave anything out.
- When I got home some hours later, Bluetooth would not turn on.
- What happens exactly is:
1. I try to turn Bluetooth on, it takes me to the Bluetooth connection screen. Switch is ON but no devices show up.
2. When I get into Settings, I see the switch is DEACTIVATED.
3. I tap on the switch and it moves, however it remains grayed out and Bluetooth does not turn on.

My failed attempts to solve it:
- Tried restarting.
- Tried clearing Network Settings.
- Tried clearing Bluetooth app cache.
- Tried clearing phone cache from Recovery menu.
- Tried turning off wifi scanning.
- Tried switching off/on every Bluetooth setting I found.
- Tried hard-resetting phone.
- Tried rebooting in safe mode.
Nothing worked and I am lost.
I contacted customer service, and after confirming I had hard-resetted the phone they told me I should send it for repair. I guess that is what they have to tell you when they cannot find a solution... I do not blame them, still I am so afraid they will send me back a refurbished device and so positive this is a software issue that I do not want to do this.
Any ideas? Anything I should try?
Thank you all in advance.
Ivo
Did you try to turn on the flight mode, reboot the phone and then disable flight mode?
With hard reset you mean data/cache wipe, correct?

2) Yes. Full reset.
1) DUDE... YOU ARE MY HERO. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS.
I FIXED IT BY DOING THAT! (flight mode - restart - disable flight mode).
Believe me, I had tried (almost) EVERYTHING. FOR REAL. People from Lenovo said my phone needed replacement...
Thank you. And congratulations on your last World Cup (I am from Argentina).
Thx, I am glad this helped.
Some tricks even their hotline does not know

I am sad to say a week after this happened BT started having problems again. Now I can turn it on and off, the BT icon shows up in the notifications bar, but no devices are detected nor can my phone be detected by other devices.
I even flashed the BT module but that did not work.
I guess my last chance is Android O.

I had this problem - BT started to switch off once a day, after few days it wouldn't turn on - only after reboot. 2 more days and it will not turn on at all (you can move switch to "on" but after going back to BT menu it will be off).
Sent for warranty and as far as I remember they just changed some adhesive tape, probably what normally has to be replaced after opening phone. I think that it could be antenna connection problem and BT module internal diagnosis is not allowing it to enable.
Issue with BT switching off was visible again after some time but it started to work normally and update to 7.1 arrived - no isuess so far, altough my zenwatch2 still needs pairing few times a day
Hi All,
I am having problems connecting the watch to the PC and it is driving me insane. So when I connect the watch to the PC it shows up as a drive but in a few seconds it disconnects and then connects again and disconnects and so on. Really frustrating as I cannot really do much with it that way.
Do not think the laptop (Windows 10) is the problem, never had any problems with other peripherals. Best I could do is to uninstall all USB drivers, restart the laptop and then when I connect the watch it is stable for a few minutes, but the moment I start trying to upload the music to the watch it disconnects (managed to upload maybe 20 songs, in 3-4 sessions). The fact that thiss happens when I start moving the music is what makes me think this is a watch issues. Also this Phone Communication app (see pictures) keeps failing to start so I think it has something to do with that. Running the latest version of the ROM on the watch and as I bought this watch used it was restarted to factory settings before connecting so don't think doing that again will help. Please help!
Thank you!

Ok, spoke too soon. It seems better, in a way that it does not disconnect all the time but still disconnects after trying to copy a file

Try to connect another pc or laptop if results same that means usb cable damaged.
1. There is no "Stratos 2", it is Huami Sport Watch 2 or simply Stratos.
2. Press it down firmly by its borders, and try to swing it in place a bit... Also make sure metallic contacts in both cradle and watch are clean.
3. Try using USB 2.0 if you were using USB33.
If it doesn't work then probably you have a failure in the internal metallic pins contacts, it's not rare with Stratos, unfortunately. You can still connect adb and transfer files via WiFi, but if the watch is new you may want to get it replaced under warranty if it's still stock.

Thanks, yes am meaning to do that. Its weird, I just copied some 80 tracks without a problem - but different playlist.. That is great progress. I wonder if it could have been a mix of the antivirus and filenames of the specific playlist I was copying (lots of hyphens and special symbols)
