XT1526 not seen by adb - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an XT1526 from Freedompop. It came prerooted with TWRP installed, however SuperSU was removed. I tried to install SuperSU via Google Play, and after that the phone would not start. It would be stuck on the Moto logo. I tried to reinstall supersu via TWRP . I used this package:
SR1-SuperSU-v2.79-SR1-20161221223537.zip . The install went through, but the phone still does not start.
I tried to do something via adb/fastboot.
adb devices does not show the phone connected, however fastboot devices sees the phone connected.
fastboot reboot works too.
What should I do now?
Currently only bootloader and TWRP work. TWPR sees the content on the SD card

Press and hold the power button on the boot animation screen until the phone is forced restarted again.... Do this until it boots completed
If the problem doesn't stop, try different version of SuperSU.... Also tell more about your ROM?

I have restarted the phone this way many times and it never comes past the logo. Also on the long press it does not shut down, it only restarts.
What is the version of SuperSU suitable for this phone?
I have not changed the ROM. It is whatever it came with. How can I check?

With power+Volume up it goes to the Moto logo. With power+Volume Down it goes to the bootloader and shows some info. No word about the ROM. What is strange - baseband NULL.
I suppose it is some Boost ROM, but this is just my guess

Wiping the phone via TWRP and flashing the https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/supersu/download/zip/SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip helped.
Thanks a lot!

CWM Recovery hanged while erasing... bootloop problem.

Hello, today I wanted to restore my previous CWM backup. So i started with cleaning partitions before restoring. I've begun with system and my phone hang. I waited about 30 minutes, then pulled out battery with hope I'll try again via CWM. The thing is - I can't boot it into recovery: Volume Up/Volume Down+Power leads to normal start up (LG screen and nothing further). So i connected it to PC and wanted to make it right via ADB. Unfortunely it seems I had USB Debugging turned off, and ADB isn't recognizing my phone now... What should I do now?
I have rooted D620r with unlocked bootloader.

You must never delete partitions before restoring a backup especially system!!
CWM will do that for you...
Boot your device in factory reset mode (which simply boots CWM) by doing the following key combination: (while your device is off - pull and plug the battery to be sure) press and hold Vol - and power, when you see the LG logo, release the power button and press it again. Hold them until you see the facory reset mode, then simply enter YES. It will reboot to CWM.

Weird, I was always doing this when I had HTC Desire S
Used this countless times and always worked!
Ok, i've done as You said, something like CWM loading screen appeared, and then went back to LG Screen. LG Screen standing still and nothing happens
The only good thing is that I can access ADB for 20 seconds when CWM is "loading", but no action can be executed - every command ends up with "waiting for device".
Thanks for Your reply, though! :highfive:
EDIT:
I solved my problem by using "Emergency software restore" mode featured in "LG User Support Tool". I got clean, unrooted system now and I need to modify it again but...

Lock bootloader
Hello everyone.
I was just going to try out CM11, but got one question. Is it possible to lock the bootloader and revert everything to stock? There were some talks about new stock ROMs coming out and they might not work after a custom ROM.

BOOT LOOP

My phones loads up to home screen then reboot in about 10 seconds... Any ideas? Running EMUI 3.1/Android 5.1 beta build. was trying to revert back to stock B013 and thats when this problem started
you go back from 5.1.1 to 5.0?
I had the same Problem, after a factory reset it works again

If you can goto fastboot, simply install recovery.img from UPDATE.APP(use huawei update extractor to extract img).
then copy update.app to dload folder in sd card and poweroff device.
press vol down + power button, it will boot into recovery and install UPDATE.app.
I faced this problem when from 5.1, i installed kangvipB015. it worked the way i told above.
Okay... I had my phone plugged into my usb 3.0 then I plugged the phone into my usb 2.0 port and phone started responded to my holding down volume and power buttons then phone booted up into unknown update and now everything is fine.... weird though
Huawei x2 loop
Hello. my X2 boots and reaches lockscreen, when I input my password a window comes up that says the system is not responding. After I click OK or WAIT the homescreen shows up, but after a while phone restarts and the same sequence happens again. I have tried booting into safe mode but the same thing happens. I also tried POWER plus VOL UP to clear cache. I have left the phone off and with zero battery power to simulate a battery pull. I cannot RESET however since I have valuable data on the phone which I cannot lose. Before this I was attempting to delete files by uploading to Google Photos, the phone froze so I restarted. When it booted that is when the looping began. I don't remember the version my X2 is in but since I got it I only had updated it once last year. I hope someone can help me.

ZU not responding to anything after installing recovery

Ok guys so I have a Sony Xperia Z Ultra and I decided to install Marshmallow 6.0 on it (which wasn't released for my phone). I downloaded the boot, cache, system and userdata imgs of Marshmallow 6.0 and installed them using fastboot, then I was supposed to boot in recovery mode and wipe the caches and do a reset, before installing the G-apps zip file and completing the entire process. So I tried to start recovery mode which I had previously installed already and it failed, starting in safe mode instead. Then I re-installed the recovery using a batch file in a directory downloaded from NUT's XDA Developers download site, which failed on the first try. So I tried again and it was installed, meaning my phone will automatically reboot into recovery right after it was done. My phone rebooted but my screen remained black and nothing happened. I tried holding down the power button and it vibrated but nothing happened again. I tried holding down the power and volume down button for 30sec and more, tried it with the volume up button too and it didn't work. I tried connecting my phone to the pc but it won't recognize it (of course) and I tried holding the volume up button upon connecting to enter fastboot but that failed as well. Now it's stuck like this and I'm hoping its battery drains out and it powers off. Help.
Update: I went to sleep and now that I've woken up, the screen is still going with the low battery red light. I don't know for how long it will continue, but the problem remains.
Update: Now my pc recognizes it but all adb commands have no effect.

you should give some info... like what rom youre using. also use twrp 3.x with mm
you cant expect help without telling the error messages you get...
you can always power off your phone with holding vol down + power for 30sec

YEAH ok here's my issue. NO MATTER WHAT recovery I install (through the app or fastboot) IT DOES NOT WORK. Any earlier version of TWRP, it will boot into, but the screen is unresponsive, while the latest version of TWRP simply acts like it isn't there as the phone never boots into recovery, this has been happening on MM and now it's happening on my latest stock. After the failed MM attempts I've downloaded the latest C6833 stock and everything is fine, but I'd like to be able to install custom roms like everyone else. It took me a day or two to learn how to actually do that, but I still have no idea why NO recovery works for me. My device is rooted, bootloader unlocked, all that crap. I tried many kernel links on your site, especially that main one that the mod posted, but the links are dead. Help.

there is other way to enter twrp 3.0.2 with new bootloader, power + vol down (instead of up!)
read op of twrp thread and follow instructions carefully and it'll work. also for the twrp i build you must be on a rom which uses sony aosp device tree (like aicp). otherwise i wont guarantee that it will work.

I tried holding the button down like you said, tried rebooting to recovery from TWRP manager itself, with root access granted of course. Nothing. Can you link the post or something? However I don't think anything in it will fix my issue.
Sounds like you flashed a recovery for another model. I had this issue with a ROM awhile back.
Didn't read the walls of text.
I recommend using you flashtool and flashing a stock ftf. Re-root, recovery and flash again.
---------- Post added at 06:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:11 AM ----------
Edit. Read somethings. There are plenty of ROMs on xda do not flash the old way which is part by part. Flash the most recent Sony firmware, and you should be able to flash MM ROMs.
I have copy's of the recovery if needed.
I did flash the latest FTF using the flash tool, but I need a working recovery in order to install the gapps and still no recovery works on my device.

even if i only press the volumeUp button, it also restart instead of going to the twrp folder,
is there is any software, or other way to access it via pc, or something,

You can enter the fastboot mode and then re-flash the TWRP. After that, you reboot the phone and keep pressing the volumeUP button while it's booting. So that you can enter the TWRP.
My method is that I enter TWRP and then use "Advantage Wipe" to wipe cache and davik cache. Then, flash v2.64 of SuperSU and reboot system. It works.

hello,
so the threat is called how to root honor 7......and you only write about the SuperSU issue, not about the procedure how to root it.
what is the solution for rooting the H7 with android 6.0 build 380?
The right files for doing it like TWRP, IMG aso.

Cannot boot to recovery or fastboot-rooted LG V30+

Hi all. I just recently unlocked the bootloader and rooted my LG V30+ following the WTF guide with no issues. However, I installed a "Hide navigation bar" module in Magisk and now the screen is in accessible and I can only reboot the phone. Since I have TWRP installed, I cannot boot into bootloader holding down the volume down and power buttons. Any suggestions? I cannot use adb becuase it says that the device is unauthorized since I cannot allow permisions on my screen ( cant see anything on screen atm).

You can boot to TWRP with hardware button dance.
8 sec Power + Vol-, and when it shuts off, release both, immediatly press both again (at the same time), and as soon as the LG V30 logo appears, release power and press/hold it again.
Should get you to the factory reset menu, confirm twice with "yes" (navigate via vol/power buttons), and TWRP should boot fine.
Might take a few tries to get the right timing for that

For that, remember the annoying bootloader unlock warning is part of the boot sequence.
Or do a Master Reset and start over.

Ignore bootloader unlock warning. It's just part of the boot sequence. Maybe it's considered the "logo". Don't let it freak you out.

Suggestion... Why not boot to TWRP with fastboot commands like in the WTF instructions? Then reboot to TWRP from within TWRP (reboot to recovery, from Recovery) to make sure you are then on your phone TWRP and not your PC TWRP.
Then after you root, use the recommended power menu app to never have to worry about it again.
If you already have root, then just go install that right now.
ADVANCED POWER MENU (root needed)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79573776&postcount=2963
The person who started this thread couldn't do that because they installed something which messed up their screen. They couldn't see the Advanced Power Menu, nor see ADB/fastboot. So they HAD to use the hardware button dance...
Really no one else ever has to do that, except T-Mobile H932 users who don't have fastboot flash commands.
Hi Chazz, been unlocked and rooted with TWRP installed for months now. Wanted to just refresh us998 H, since something in Anxious mod may have been causing some issues. Wiped cache & dal, flashed the zip, flashed magisk 18.1, then rebooted to system. Magisk showing as not installed. Wanted to get back to recovery & reflash magisk....except now I can't for the life of me get back in there. New PC build here, nothing set up yet to be able to do fastboot stuff. Dang this is frustrating.

In Oreo, did you enable USB debugging and then allow ADB from this PC? You have to install ABD drivers, LG drivers, fastboot drivers, and connect via good USB-C cable. If so go into ADB folder, hold-shift and right click to 'open command prompt here', and type "adb devices". If the PC recognizes your phone then it should say "adb xxxxxxxx authorized". Then type "adb reboot recovery" and it should boot into TWRP. If not then repeat everything and type "adb reboot bootloader" to go into fastboot or bootloader mode. In this mode you can type "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" where the TWRP-xxx-xxxx.img has to be renamed into TWRP.img before hand (else you have to type the full TWRP file name. The TWRP file has to be in the same directory as the adb folder
I'm good turns out I ended up using my old PC, was able to adb recovery mode, installed 19.2 magisk over 18.1, which then showed up as being installed on the phone and root working. Guess I'll be keeping my old puter around for a while...lol
