Hello I am on Oxygen version 2.2.2 with root and kernel 3.4.0-blu_spark-OOS-5.1.1 and recovery TWRP v 2.8.7.0 blu_spark r9 what are the steps to upgrade to 3.1.4 Oxygen? - Some links to a guide? It is a bit confusing: /?
Thanks in advance
Sincerely Rene
You want to use stock recovery from 2.2.2 to flash 2.2.3 followed by 3.1.4 then boot. Make sure when reflashing TWRP you use the latest from TWRP website. Not sure if you need to flash 2.2.3 but was said to pave the road for 3.X.X.
Stock recovery ?
How do i get stock recovery back ? I am on TWRP 2.8.7.0 blu_spark now

You download stock recovery and flash via fastboot or flash in TWRP. Many tutorials on going back to stock you just need recovery part.

It will always say seandroid is not enforcing at the top but will work... It's just alerting you to the fact that the kernel has been changed...
This is how I got root on mine and it works but say bye bye to your KNOX....

Hello guys,
So recently i installed hydrogen os rom on my oneplus x and its super awesome but when i heard of 2.2.2 update, i thought of switching to oxygen os. I restored my Twrp backup of Oxygen 2.1.x stock rom(non rooted backup and evrything stock), and when i install any update on 2.1.x, it fails. Please suggest anything on how to install 2.2.2 version of oxygen os..!!
I had the same problem. You need to get the flashable 2.2.2 zip version and dirty flash. When your completely stock it won't let you update unless you have stock recovery.

No you will still have twrp. If you want stock recovery you can flash via adb or app like flashify (root required).

Yes
I recently unlocked the bootloader of my oneplus x to install an ota update 2.2.3 oxygen os which downloaded but failed to install. Then a 1 or 2 days ago i got the marshmallow update (pretty late ikr unlike OP3 and OP2). But, i didn't install a custom recovery because on the oneplus site it was written in the ota installation guide that stock recovery is preferred while installing ota updates manually. So FIRSTLY i would like to ask that can i install a custom rom with an unlocked stock recovery or i need a custom recovery. Secondly, is CYANOGENMOD better than oxygen os or should i continue with oxygen os. Thirdly, do i need to root my phone to install custom rom and recovery? Lastly, is all this worth doing ?
You don't need to unlock bootloader for getting OTA updates.
1. You cannot install custom rom through stock recovery. You have to use custom recovery (with bootloader unlocked )i.e., TWRP by bluespark in oos 3.1.3 or later MM version.
Don't flash this recovery if you are using lollipop oos, for lollipop oos use normal twrp.
2. If you want more customizations, themes and root access then go for cyanogen. But if you want stable, with great camera then go for oos.
Personally i prefer oos over cm because camera quality in cm is not comparable as OOS have.
3. You don't need to root your opx to install roms and custom recovery
4. yeah for me its absolutely worth because i can flash what i want and do more things. ?
You can install oos 3.1.3 through twrp as well as stock recovery.

Ok, use stock recovery for OOS 2.2.x to flash OOS 3.1.4 found here: http://oxygenos.oneplus.net.s3.amazonaws.com/OPX_recovery.img
2.
Then after you have flashed OOS 3.1.4 you flash this twrp recovery by blu_spark for the new bootloader found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=20236
3.
Then in the new twrp by blu_spark you flash a modified SuperSU provided by me:
Link in next post below.
Ok, here's the link

Shouldn't be an issue but just do a backup first.

Did you read the answer given.
No, the safer way is to use the OOS 2 recovery.
Or use the guide on the topic of the rom you want to install :

ok go here and use the guide to update your BL,and while you are flashing the OPXBLupdater.zip flash MOoSv3.zip after it.Then flash the recovery as stated in guide.
This way you'll be upgraded to new BL along with the MOoS.:good:
Note: remember to wipe your data and system partition before flashing the MOoS or else it'll bootloop.
Also please don't create unnecessary threads,if you could just have browsed the general section or the MOoS thread you should have been fine.

Hi, I followed this Guide to update bootloader and flash blu_spark twrp and Tesla N is installed on my OPX.
If I'm willing to flash 3.1.4 is it safe to flash oos 2.x.x recovery directly when I'm still on rooted custom rom??
Thanks in advance..
Official version here :
https://dl.twrp.me/onyx/twrp-3.0.2-1-onyx.img.html
Note I didn't tested it...

With the new bootloader and TWRP for it, you should be able to wipe all & flash full 3.1.4 rom zip.
But, I've seen people with relojed BL without reason .Just check it before proceeding.
Hi all,
I'm a bit of a Noob when it comes to this phone and rooting it, and i've been following a Rooting guide by theunlockr. My phone has stock 3.1.4 on it. I've installed adb on my PC and when flashing recovery.img (fastboot boot recovery.img), I get an error dtb not found. It appears that I need the modified TWRP.
So from fastboot, should I just be doing steps 2 and 3 in post #2 above ?
Sorry but I have no idea as to what bootloader I have. If necessary, how can I check this ?

You need to have an unlocked bootloader to use fastboot.
To verify, fastboot command is (you need to have your phone on fastboot mode and usb connected to the computer)
"fastboot devices"
It should retturn a number DFGKCK999
= it's OK, recognized
"fastboot oem device-info"
Should give 4 or 5 lines. One is Device unlocked "true" or "false"
If true, it's OK.
Just flash the recovery here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/development/unofficial-twrp-3-0-2-0-recovery-onyx-t3471584
Reboot directly to recovery with the buttons to be sure he's sticked
Thanks
And to root it, which version of SuperSU ?
Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
Flash SR5 Super su version.

I installed TWRP which worked OK but I have installed SuperSU v2.79 that you referred to and now I have a bootloop. What can I do ?
[EDIT] Needed the proper version on SuperSU found in post #2 here - https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/oos3-0-twrp-root-make-mm-great-again.440706/
In fact, the last post in the XDA link from Keno40 confirmed that SR5 didn't work. If only I had read that before getting close to heart failure !!!
