Could you find any guide? I need to be able to stock a m9 ...

This is a fairly easy process. BACK UP YOUR STUFF BEFORE YOU READ ANOTHER WORD. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Make sure you have ADB w/fastboot set up on your computer. If not, search for 15 second fastboot adb in google and install it. Make sure you have the HTC drivers installed, as well. I usually can't do this unless in install the latest version of HTC Sync for some reason.
Relock your bootloader: Turn off your phone. Hit Volume down, and power until you get to the bootloader screen. Go to download mode by hitting the volume keys and hit power to select. Plug your phone into your computer. In cmd prompt, make sure you have your phone connected by typing adb devices and hit enter. You should see a number, which represents your phone. If so, type in fastboot oem lock to relock your device.
Turn on your phone and make sure you don't have the option in your developer settings enabled to allow bootloader unlocking. If so, turn it off.
Go to the HTC website. Download the latest RUU for your phone. Download it and run it. After this does it's thing, provided you didn't change too much from your phone before like SID/MID, or make your m9 look like the developer version, you should be back to stock in around 15 minutes.

You realize, of course, that you are posting to the USA HTC ONE M9 forum for AT&T, correct? If you want an international base for your phone, read the post I made below and use the correct RUU from the HTC website.

Here is the most reliable way to return the stock to your smartphone https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120731364 For Europe.Important! Initially, the firmware must be installed 4.30.317.12

Okay, I've been pulling my hair out for the last few days trying to figure out what the HELL I have been doing wrong. This whole damn time, I've been trying to use the internal SD storage to manual flash the RUU, to no avail.
I have since found the right RUU version available for download, instead of using the RUU exe and such that HTC has (And failing all the time mind you).
I used this guide: http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-restore-htc-one-m9-to-stock/
And for some ungodly unknown reason EVERYONE AND THEIR FREAKING GRANDMOTHERS keep saying "SDcard"! NO! It HAS to be the EXTERNAL SD card. It makes me wonder if anyone even LOOKS at what file manager programs calls the extsd, It USED to be sdcard... Back on devices that ran versions of android before JELLYBEAN. We're on Marshmallow and higher now, come on, get with the times!
I thought I needed to re-flash the recovery because of a red triangle, but I didn't remember that it does that by default when s-off'd. Access recovery by holding power, and pressing volume up once.

Question for AT&T One X+ users that have rooted/unlocked?

What method/methods did you go about? Honestly not ready to root/unlock but I know I'll get the itch soon. This device is nice as is for now but yea I miss titanium backup and would like to be ready for any custom rom to drop, etc. So if you guys dont mind posting what method or thread you used I'd appreciate it, would at the same time help other at&t users not sure of what to use in the dev section.
See this:

It will take care of it all.
Only way is to use a tool? Anyone else go the long way?

I agree hasoons all in one works fast and efficient for unlocking and flashing SU for root. It opens the doors for custom roms quite easily
While I fully trust hasoon's all-in-one, I prefer to do things manually just so I learn more about my device. It was extremely simple. Go to htcdev.com and follow the instructions for obtaining the unlock code for your bootloader. This works for the AT&T version as well, where it did NOT on the original One X(L) in the US, we had to modify the CID. This one works right off the bat.
NOTE: As detailed in the instructions and warning screen, once you go through with the unlock process, it will delete all files on your device. Backup your music/pictures, etc before doing this.
Once you have the bootloader unlocked, push the TWRP recovery .img through fastboot (instructions are on the TWRP website). Now that you have the custom recovery MAKE A BACKUP of your stock ROM immediately! This will backup a fresh install without root.
Now from here, you can sideload the superuser.apk (or if you prefer supersu) or flash it via a .zip (which is what I did). I let my device boot after backing it up, downloaded the .zip and rebooted into recovery and flashed it. From there I installed Titanium Backup Pro and manually removed a lot of the bloatware (AT&T Navigator took a couple times to remove...).
I don't know enough yet to make a custom ROM for us, however I'm poking around on the forums and looking at guides. I'm sure the experts out there will have something for us well before I can pick it up, so I'm confident we'll have something soon. I personally dislike Sense and am excited for CM10, but I'm sure that's a little while down the road.
Follow the instructions via HTCdev.com and TWRP (and other posts here) and you'll be fine. There's also the AT&T RUU in case you botch anything up too bad. All you have to do is re-lock your bootloader via fastboot and run the .exe from your desktop computer and follow the directions to take you back to stock.
Enjoy!

it's easy, fast and simple. Just run the video while you do it if you have any doubts.

I appreciate hasoon's tool and will most likely use it in the near future, but for now I rather go the manual way. As I've been away from htc for a while I rather do it this way at first to just familiarize myself with the process as chris. I mean there cant be a con doing it manually than using the tool right?
The only "con" would be if you screwed up one of the commands. Even our resident developer Lloir said he used Hassoon's tool for the simplicity.

True lol. I havent even rooted yet, phone is pretty nice stock. Oh believe me, wont be long until I dive into it and probably just break down and use the tool
failed root (AT&T/TELUS model)
I have a phone that is currently bricked due to a failed root attempt assumingly using incorrect boot.img (I have TELUS/AT&T version and I assume the boot.img loaded was for different model. I have since discovered Hasoon's all-in-one tool and can successfully load and launch TWRP (ATT model) recovery but I do not have a recovery file (since I did not have this loaded at time of attempted root). Does anybody know of a way to recover the phone back to stock or any working state?
You can use the RUU file to flash it back to its original form. I don't see a file for TELUS so If that's what you have I don't know if this will work. Make sure to choose the AT&T one if that's what you have.
I'm not sure if you have to relock the bootloader first, but it wouldn't hurt. From memory, these are the steps I took with my One X when I returned it to stock so I could exchange it for the One X+.
- Relock Bootloader by powering off the device, hold the VOL DOWN key and then press the PWR button until the Recovery/Bootloader menu comes up. Use the VOL +/- keys to move up and down and the PWR key to make a selection. Go into the Bootloader menu and choose RELOCK BOOTLOADER.
- Power off the device.
- Install HTC Sync from HTC's site if you haven't already.
- Connect your phone to your computer and then double-click the RUU exe file you downloaded and follow the prompts.
Thank you very much. I didn't know that anybody had an RUU for the AT&T/TELUS model I had searched everywhere and only found international models. I will give it a try to see if it works.

No Dice.
Says it cannot update the phone and to get the correct RUU. I guess it doesn't work with TELUS phones.

Download my toolkit.
Pull the boot.img from my AT&T ROM. Boot into recovery and flash any of the AT&T builds I have from here.
Shut the phone off. Hold the volume down and power button together until you are in the bootloader. Press the power button to select fastboot and have the USB cable plugged in.
Put the boot.img in the kernels folder of my toolkit.
Press the "With this command" and press flash kernel.
Now pray that your phone loads up!
I downloaded your QX senseless v1.0.zip and pulled boot.img from it. I have the phone in TWRP recovery mode but am not sure how to get the zip there to install. A removable drive does show up in windows but it is not accessible. Is there something else I need to do to send the file such as via fastboot or something?

The boot.img has to be flashed hbooot/fasboot mode then the Rom in recovery
Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2
My confusion was how to load the package. I was unfamiliar with the usb restrictions since my last phone was an HTC magic (android 2.1 I think). I found the information on the ext4 partition and successfully sideloaded the package via the recovery console. To note I did need to use the adb from the current SDK as the one included with hasoons AIO kit is old and doesn't support sideload.
It appears I am back up and running with hasoon's senseless ROM.
I will need to play around to see if it is functioning correctly but so far it booted and knows my carrier..
YAY..
Thanks to Hasoon for the ROM and tools, definitely worth donating to, I will be doing this shortly.

My final method for root/recovery was to htcdev unlock. Then I fastboot flashed TWRP. Then rebooted into recovery and adb pushed QX zip and flash it. Ignore QX boot.img error. Reboot into fastboot and flash boot.img from QX zip. Reboot.

Nice! Glad to hear you're back up and running.
Root to unlock?
I would like to begin with a warning.
Im a complete noob. I want to switch to android with the HTC One X+ as my first android phone.
I want the phone, but I want it unlocked as I travel abroad and I don't want to be locked in a contract.
I realized it AT&T won't unlock your phone even after you pay the $350 ETF.
So
1. Does rooting unlock the phone?
2. Do sites that claim that giving them your phone's IMEI number and paying a fee to get an unlock code actually work? A
I want to know this for sure before I pay $550 ($200 for phone + $350 ETF) the One X+.
Thanks for your help
No, rooting does not SIM-unlock your phone.
Yes, there are legitimate unlocking sites. I'd recommend contacting Hassoon here on XDA as he has stated that he can look into helping users SIM-unlock for a fee.

[Q] Need help with ICS updation on Unbranded HTC AMAZE in pakistan

hey,
I bought HTC amaze 4g in Lahore, Pakistan. When I bought it, it was locked with S-ON and gingerbread v2.3.4 running on it. I waited for few days so i can get an ICS update through OTA but it never happened and there were slim chances that it would happen. Since i bought it here in Pakistan so there was no carrier attached to my phone so my stock ROM is not made for any specific carrier.
Now i have unlocked the phone (HTC BOOTLOADER METHOD) and then rooted my phone as well. So far its working fine with the stock ROM and everything. Now i want to update my amaze to ICS. i have read so much and tried to find some suitable way to achieve this but failed.
Can anyone guide me through this whole procedure with same case scenario as mine?? I have been sitting infront of the laptop for like 2 consecutive days and i have almost lost all hope to see my amaze running ICS ... so if anyone can help me out with this regard i would be very thankful ...

There's no unbranded RUU for the Amaze, so there isn't really any ICS update for you. The only thing you'll have to do is pick the T-Mobile ICS RUU and go on from there.

Thanks alot for your reply. But that is exactly what i want to do and being not able to do ...
Actually let me put my case more appropriately.
1. I want to update my phone to ICS but then again don't want to loose my warranty (which right now is lost as the phone is un locked and rooted). So before going to update my OS i would like to make sure i can un-lock/lock and root/un-root it? un-lock and rooting part is done now its the reverse mechanism i am seeking help with. No custom or stock rom has been flashed on my bootloader so far.
i have CWM recovery installed on my phone i have made a backup of my phone through it, which i saved on my pc as well as the phone storage now that would be my stock roms image please correct me if i am wrong?
2. And then in the second step i would like to update my os to ICS for that reason i had visited this thread
[Collection] HTC Ruby/Amaze 4G Stock ROMs (RUUs & OTAs)
Thread By: krook6023
and from here i can download the RUU you are talking about right? But wouldn't the software build or kernel version difference make it un successful updation?
if not then i will download one of those RUU's but guide me through with the next steps actually required to update it currently the phone is Un-locked, rooted and S-ON.
I know i am being too naive about things but this is my first android device and i really don't want to mess it up but that doesn't mean i haven't done research i have been reading stuff but as long as i don't get it done once by my hand i think i wont be comfortable doing it, hence require guidance.
Thanks in advance.

put the RUU into the root of the sdcard, it must be named PH85IMG.zip to be detected so rename it if it isnt.
turn off fastboot if its on (find it yourself) power off the phone and then power it on by holding pwr and down on the volume key
OR turn off the phone and then pull the battery, replace and power on using pwr and volume down. Then you will see the menu and choose fastboot it will check the RUU and take a long time then it will say press a key to flash the update, do it. wait a while. even if it seems to take a while dont pull the battery. when the phone boots do the setup and then in google market get ES file explorer and use it to rename the PH85IMG.zip to PH85IMG_1.zip or something so it wont detect it and start the long RUU check if you just want to get into the recovery.
I leave the RUU on my sd card just renamed cause ive had some funny problems and this can save your ass
hope this helped,

Hey,
Well i can help you with unlocking bootloader but i haven't done S-Off mine is still S-On. For unlocking your bootloader i am attaching this word file for you which contains all the steps that are required to unlock your bootloader.
And yes everything on your phones internal memory get wiped once you unlock the and reboot your phone. But things stored on the external memory wont be touched they will stay intact. So before unlocking do make a backup of all your applications and store it on your pc and later on put it back on your sd card and download the recovery software you used before to make backup to do restore this time... Hope that would help you.

Hi,
Well with regard to just unlocking bootloader the method i sent him would work just fine whether it is ICS or GG. But to install recovery and rooting you need extra steps which he didn't asked for and yes you can do that with the hasoon all in one tool kit.

Well daniyal i haven't done S-Off yet as i wrote in my previous posts and what i have read in the articles and discussions its a little cumbersome method to achieve that since i haven't done it myself. For youtube part if you want to use youtube you can download and use hotspot shield. Just download it and connect it and it will allow you to use youtube. I hope this helps you.
Also studying in Pakistan and a question does your phone have tmobile logo? If so then do the ph85img method mentioned earlier (don't worry it won't mess up your device) and you don't really need to s-off if you use 4ext recovery which is the best imo. Right now I am on vacation (back in us) but I come back first week of january if you still can't figure this out or feel too scared just call me up (I will pm you my number) and I can walk you through it on the phone quite simple (and if you want to s-off and I can help you with that too) would do it personally if you were in karachi...

Well this is great to have some to talk to in person. It would be doubly great if you could help out with the original questions i posted in the start of my thread. Thanks.
If you want to update it to ICS, most likely, you will have to S-Off it, as there are probably no RUUs that will work with your phone's CID.
It would be helpful if you told us what your CID was. To obtain the CID code from your phone, use the included attachment, extract it to an accessible location, and then boot your phone in FASTBOOT mode, not the BOOTLOADER mode. After you boot in there, plug in the USB cable to the computer.
After you've done that, double click on the file, CID.bat
Let the command run, and then go in the folder where you extracted the files to, and there should be a file called CIDNUMBER.log. Copy the result and then post it here.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there is a RUU you can use with that CID.
It *IS* possible to have the phone update to ICS, but what is *NOT* possible (as of now, because of no RUU for your CID), is to have the phone downgrade back to GB if you need it for warranty purposes. In this scenario, it's an one way street.
You have 2 options really, to leave your phone as is, or to S-OFF the phone in order to update the phone to ICS.

In either case to update to ICS or to get the locked (not relocked) status back with S-on for warranty purposes i need to do S-off isn't that right?
Well for now my amaze is unlocked and rooted so warranty is out of the window and i cant get it back to locked status it always says relocked so i would like to move forward and then with the help of guys like you i would like to get back to original stock if possible.
so whats the next step for me to get my phone to ICS? If i have to do S-off whats the easiest way of achieving it and after achieving it what are the next steps to perform upgradation?
I have a question. I have s-on and rooted my phone and installed twrp while having unlocked bootloader. I want to install 4ext as someone told me thats better on here. Do i have to uninstall twrp or I can just use hansoon tool to install 4ext and it will over right twrp?

[Q] Rootboot bricked One X+

Hey guys my name is Mike!
I have just joined xda developers forum because I have been experiencing a problem in which I have no idea to solve.
Well today I tried rooting my One X+ by downloading a .bat file called rootboot V5 ( it can be found on google)
It said to only to use if your software version was 1.14 however my version was 1.15
Anyways I ended up bricking my phone when I clicked the .bat file and now my phone doesn't get past the boot screen.
I have unlocked my device already and I know because I can get to the bootloader screen and at the top it says "UNLOCKED"
Also, my device is no longer recognized by my computer.
I honestly have no idea what to do, if someone can please help me with this issue, I will be forever grateful.
Also, i have an AT&T model of the HTC One X+ and I only got it yesterday. :crying::crying:
I have rooted phones before but this is absolutely terrible.
have you tried using adb to get into recovery? have you tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994961

No, I have not tried getting into recovery by using adb. I have the file though I just don't know how to access it. (obviously through cmd)
Also, this may seem like a noob question but how do I download that tool you just referred me to? There is no link on the page for a download.

His problem, is that his pc don't reconize the phone. He should install recovery or install ruu. But if the pc dont reconize the pc he can't. Try using the tool, installing recovery, look at the Info. And use only if is write for AT&T user, if you don't see that ask the tool Develope and keep calm. Good night. When you have flashed recovery try installing a Rom. Good luck.

Here is the ATT ruu in my dropbox. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10203258/RU....55.17_18.20.95.55L_release_290329_signed.exe You must relock the bootloader before running this. And your pc must see the phone because this is ran from the PC. You have to be in fastboot/bootloader, relocked, then run this RUU. It will return the phone to stock. Also just because you cant see the phone as removable storage, doesnt mean the computer doesnt see it. The only time you see the phone as removable storage is when booted completely, otherwise you have to check the device manager.

I downloaded Pdanet and it said it had the correct driver however it requires me to turn on the debugging mode and of course I can't do that because I am stuck in at the Quietly Brilliant screen.
I am going to find out how to relock my phone and download that Ruu and see how that works I guess.

Basically got the same thing. Can get into TWRP recovery fine, can ADB boot.img. Have to adb sideload from PC, and I get the install fine.
But, phone never goes past HTC white screen upon booting, just sits for 10 minutes or longer.
Gonna try to RUU method after a relock myself.
Anybody has more ideas, let me know. It's like the SDCard is corrupt and can't be accessed but only through the sideload or in a good rom booted.
EDIT: did the RUU trick above, booted, SDCard is nor formatted and showing up properly in Windows, ROM booted...start over and try again.

So your computer doesn't recognize the device either?
Everytime I try to flash a different recovery it says waiting for device.... and just stays there because my computer doesn't recognize it.
If we do end up relocking it and flashing a Ruu, we are going to need our computers to recognize the device first so it is is pretty much pointless to relock it at the moment.
Do you have any other quicker way of communicating so maybe you and I can help each other out. Like a messenger or something?
How did you flash the rooted boot.img if your PC wont recognise the phone?

I finally fixed it
Well guys, after one hard long day of being in possession of a paperweight I finally fixed the issue.
It turns out I flashed the wrong rooter for my device.
I followed this guide to get through it!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051032\
In the guide you pretty much flash a different ROM through adb sideloader. As long as adb recognizes your device, it doesn't matter about installing the correct drivers if they fail on your computer. Just follow the guide and put in the correct commands in cmd to download a new ROM. A list of the ROMS are attached to guide as well so you don't have to search for them.
THIS IS ONLY FOR AT&T AND TELUS MODELS BTW.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE HELP AND GOOD LUCK OTHERS WHO ARE STUCK IN THE BOOT SCREEN.

[Q] AT&T One X+ stuck in boot loop

Hi, My AT&T One X+ is stuck in a boot loop after trying to root. I think the problem is that I was using a method to root a non-AT&T One X+. I had the boot loader unlocked, and I have tried to factory reset but it goes into a boot loop. I am stuck, and I don't know what I can do.

Using something for the international version on the AT&T version is definitely your problem. I do no understand why people can not read. You will be lucky if your device is not broken depending on waht tool you used. Now to try and fix, Go into the boot loader using power button and volume down. Go to fastboot and flash the STOCK AT&T RECOVERY. DO NOT USE AN INTERNATIONAL VERSION THEY ARE NOT FOR YOUR PHONE. Run the RUU with a locked boot loader. Alternatively You can flash AN AT&T RECOVERY and use the sideload option to try and place a AT&T ROM on the phone. Use recovery to install the zip.
WARNING: IF THIS DOES NOT WORK I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT DOES NOT WORK.
I think it's very hard to completely brick these phones with S-ON. You should try running the RUU and start all over again, using the all-in-one toolkit and follow the instructions here.
The similiar thing happened to me just the other day.
Heres what I did
Relock bootloader
Download stock AT&T RUU
Run RUU
You should have a stock phone now. That's what happened with mine anyway. This is my experience. I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone.

How did you do it? Where can I get the stock rom, and how do I flash it? I am new to android phones, I just switched from iPhone where everything is pretty much the same for every phone. I need as much help as possible. How do I relock the bootloader, and will AT&T be able to tell it was unlocked?
Search within hasoon2000's posts. He has the stock ruu posted somewhere.
I don't have htcs instructions in front of me but I'm pretty sure they explained how to lock the bootloader when you were following their instructions to lock it.

This is the RUU you need:
http://www.htcruu.com/?dir=EvitaRE
Not sure what the exact steps are to flash it as I've never done it but I think it would go something like:
Boot phone into bootloader and connect it via USB to your computer
Lock the bootloader, from your computer run: fastboot oem lock
Then from the computer execute the RUU .exe you downloaded above
If you downloaded the all-in-one toolkit, you could instead select "Relock Bootloader" and then "Do Command" and follow the instructions.

Thanks for the link, I had a link to a bad download before. My only problem now is that the phone is not detected by the computer anymore. Is there anything I can do? Is there a certain mode that I need to be in for using the RUU?
I was able to get my computer to detect the phone and install the drivers. The RUU is currently running. I was wondering if anyone could help me to find the right method to root my phone.

Search around the forums for the stock ROM. Make sure you use the right model RUU. INTERNATIONAL AND ATT are not the same. Once you've located the RUU, use hasoons toolkit to relock your bootloader (there is an option for that). ATT will be able to tell if you've relocked because it says "relocked" at the top of the screen when you run hboot or fastboot.
The RUU will install the stock ROM once you launch the program from your PC. it will take about 5-10 minutes to do so. Once it completes your phone will reboot and it will be stock. Let me know if you need help flashing a custom recovery and ROM

There are many ways to root.
1) install recovery using hasoons toolkit
2) install recovery using fastboot or adb.
There are other ways but #1 is what I recommend. Very easy to follow instructions

[Q] Sprint RUU for HTC ONE MAX

I can't find a RUU for my HTC ONE MAX by Sprint. It has to have "t6spr" or " t6whl" to work on my phone. If not an RUU; then what else to use and instructions on how to accomplish the task. I'm currently running 3.02.651.5 and an older RUU is not working(1.16.651.4)...will not overwrite latest update.
Currently positioned at bootloader....os is wiped, lost "recovey" and my computer doesn't see my device. Haven't found a way to go forward to unlock bootloader or go back to stock.
HELP! I NEED SOMEBODY!....Desperate.

No Chance.
You are not able to downgrade the ROM or the Hboot or whatever if you have S-ON.
This is one of the most reasons why I will have an S-OFF device. You can't do nothing with it. Use it. Or throw it out of the Windows. Or sometimes take a call.
But that's it.

For the last two and a half days ,I have been trying to get back to factory; to no avail. The process was a great learning experience about many different tools and people who provide great support to those like myself.
I want to thank "Mr.T69" for his help....I really can't thank you enough for the "Fix" you provided for me.
Short synopsis: I got up and running but found that "revone" or "Rumrunner" wouldn't work for me because many roms have made them outdated. So tried as I have, I could not get S-Off. The RUU I had was too old also and I did not know how to flash "0P3PIMG" or "OTA" type files; couldn't find any directions.
The saddest part of this was to find the lack of support out there for my Sprint HTC One Max; as far as RUU's and the like.... We who have them are on an island by ourselves.
