I restored my nandroid backup of AICP 7.1.1 but some of my settings were reset to default.. Also my messages were deleted... Is it a known bug??
Anyway to correct this??

yes got the same. Saving/restoring cache do not help for some data, i.e. messages.
You have to backup your messages also with App like SMS & Calllog Backup

Hi guys,
I have noob question, I am gonna flash a new ROM to my phone and since i want to backup all my data and apps, i wanted to use TitaniumBackup. here is wat's bothering me, when i click on backup all user apps + system data it even backups all the system default application like calculator, email, weather etc etc. So if i restore this one a new ROM would it overwrite all the newer system default apps?
Upgrading from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5
Thanks
depends which option u choose... if i remember correctly there is option "batch missing user application/apps" or something along the line.. if u choose that it will only restore the "MISSING" apps.. >>>> doesnt overwrite anything
no
i'm using it a lot and it didn't.
Do not restore system data on a new rom/firmware .
Apps and data only .

Did you check the titanium KB: http://www.titaniumtrack.com/kb/titanium-backup-kb/titanium-backup-howtos.html
Hello, I exited a game and my phone screen go black (it crashed) so I had to press power off for 10 second but i got a bootloop when it booted.
I tried to wipe cache/dalvik cache but I was stuck at the part when the phone was preparing all the app for boot.
So I made a backup and restored a previous backup. Now can I restore my data from the backup by browsing it or what ever to restore my sms or some game data ?
Thanks

Thanks you, exactly what i was looking for
I'm on CyanogenMod 10.1.3 ROM on Evo 4G LTE. I did a full Titanium Backup (system, apps, data) and I'm restoring single apps at a time to troubleshoot a couple of issues. Anyway, I restored my sms app (Handcent) but my sms data is all gone. I imagine it's in one of the system files I have to restore from Titanium Backup, but I don't know which file has the data.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Unless you actually backed up SMS specifically, there will be no backup. Backing up the app and data will not backup your messages.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't back up sms specifically, but it was my assumption that one of the android system files backed up by Titanium held the missing data. I assumed this because every time I've flashed a new ROM, I've gotten my sms data by doing a full Titanium restore. This time however, I didn't restore any system data, just apps & app data, because I'm troubleshooting. So, I feel like one of the system data files has the sms data, but of course I don't know which one it is :/

Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks!
When I backup my V10 with TWRP I select ALL the items to make the backup.
When I restore which items do I restore all or just some of them??
You have to have made a backup from to twrp first...then when you go to restore from twrp it will automatically show that backup file....
---------- Post added at 12:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:14 AM ----------
It should just have one file even though you chose too backup multiple things.....does that make sense?
No, what I'm asking is what items do I restore or all of them or just some of them:
Boot
System
Data
Cache
Recovery
EFS
depends what you're doing... if you're doing a full restore, I would select everything except cache, recovery and efs... only restore recovery and efs when needed.
is there any way to restore data from marshmallow backup into lollipop?
hoe there will be any way
need to get my contacts and messages
is it a twrp backup.if yes you will get your contacts and messages but you will face other applications giving force close because marshmallow and lollipop are very diffrent. There is a workaround but will need time. restore your backup then backup your contacts and messages then reflash lollipop.

You cant restore a marshmallow backup to a lollipop.
Yup, you can't restore it unless you update to the version where the backup was made and then backing it up using another method, titanium backup for instance..
