app data - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I have an Amazon Fire Tablet and I installed Google Play store on it. The problem is that I cannot get the app data to sync from my phone(Samsung Galaxy S6) to the Amazon tablet. Does anyone know how to sync the data to a new device? I have read many articles, but they did not help at all. I tried Helium, which did not work. Any assistance will be helpful. Thank you. deanie44

Amazon apps show as purchased on Android Market.

All of my purchased apps from the Amazon app store are showing as purchased on the Android app store. If I delete an app from Amazon and want to purchase from Android I can not. It still shows as purchased. When I click to download it says that I have not purchased this app. How can I fix this?
Clear you Market data under Manage Apps, it might help.
That doesn't work, I have already tried that.
I have been looking for the same solution with no success.
Have you tried reinstalling from the Appstore and using Titanium Backup to detach from the Market?
You should then be able to purchase it.
I think these issues have something to do with the Google backup thing. It backs up your apps list and even if you uninstall it it still shows sometimes. I don't use the backup feature for this reason, it's buggy & I prefer to restore them myself anyway.

I installed an old version of the Market (2.2.11) I had and now my Amazon apps don't show up as purchased. I was able to buy one that I had previously got from Amazon.
This is a known issue and is being worked on by Google. Has to do with the devs using the same signing key for both markets.
What's wrong with buying them from Amazon again (untill it is fixed)?

It is not an issue with the android market, it is a "cross market" issue.
Bumping for help. Google'd this issue and found this thread.
I'm having the same issue on my Galaxy Nexus. I got mSecure from the Amazon app store as a FAOTD a long time ago and want to purchase it in the Android market now since it's for sale for 50 cents and the app is like 8 versions newer (seems Amazon apps don't get updated near as often or fast as the native market). But it's showing purchased on every device I try it on. I've uninstalled both mSecure and the Market app (through Titanium) from my phone and re-installed, which seems to have prompted my phone to update to the new "Google Play Store" that just launched today, but had not affect on mSecure's status. I've also tried to purchase it from my browser on the phone and my PC. Shows purchased every time.
Very annoying and I don't want to miss this sale! Any workarounds found yet?
Thanks!
Edit: I may have found a fix. I just contacted Google Support and got a hold of a very knowledgeable and helpful rep who had to forward my case to an account specialist to square me away. I got an e-mail chain from him to the specialist so I can reply back any issues I have as they work on it. He said he's seen this before and they have to update an "order code" or something to that affect so I can order it. I'll update if/when they fix it.
I found this on another thread. Please thank to OP, he really helped me out.

[Q] Slight issues with some apps?

Hello, so on my Galaxy S2 I have a few quick questions about whether there is an alternate method to solve my problems.
The first concerns the Amazon App Store on which I purchased a few apps. After uninstalling the App Store only one of the apps continued to run, the others required that I maintain the application. Is there anyway around this? I don't want to keep the Amazon App Store but I do want to use the apps without it?
The second has to do with all the junk ATT apps that came pre-loaded onto the phone. I understand that if rooted I could remove all of them, but is there any method to doing so without rooting?
Lastly, I have some kindle purchased books via the Amazon Kindle store. I prefer using Google Books as my E-reader and was wondering is there anyway to convert the purchased books into the Google Books format? Will the quality be like reading an ordinary E-book?

This is a function of Amazon and there's no way around it.

Not completely. Some bloatware can be removed without root, but not all.

Amazon's Kindle format is proprietary and they would quickly shut down any conversion method that allows their books to be read outside of a Kindle or Kindle app.

Polaroid PMID720 and Google Play

Hey, I'm new to the forum and wanted to say thanks in advance for the help and to mention that I searched the forum before posting so I apologize if I've overlooked something.
I recently purchased a Polaroid PMID720 dual core Android 4.1 tablet to keep myself busy at work and I don't have access to the Google Play store, I had purchased a Polaroid PMID701 for my daugher for Christmas and had no problem getting the Google Market installed but so far I haven't been able to do the same with this one. I initially triend installing the older Google Market following the instructions found at the-digital-reader website (these are the instructions I used for my daughter's 701) but after I get it installed and attempt to start the app it crashes when I try to add my Google account. While searching I've stumbled onto the thread for the Polaroid AIO software several times but Southern Telecom (the company that makes the Polaroid tablets) doesn't offer the firmware for the PMID720 on their website.
I know that this is far from a high end tablet - it was purchased to watch a few videos, read some ebooks, and screw around on the web when I'm dead at work - but not having access to the Google Play store severly limits its usefulness (the Amazon store suuuucks). Any advice is appreciated and, again, thanks in advance for the help.

Google: "Installing Google Play without rooting on Android Mobiles or Tablets"
I cannot enter the url. I had the same exact problem as you. This method has worked for me (I also have PMID720 and got the same error as you when following the instructions that worked with earlier models).
While I was able to get Android Market installed, Google Services seemed to crash constantly. Also, none of the music apps running on the PMID720 recognized the playlists on my SD card (the same playlists that worked flawlessly on my old Emerson EMS543 and another Android device).
So, my solution was to return the PMID720 and exchange for a PMID705. Yes, it's slightly slower and less memory, but everything works: Android Market, Play Lists, etc... And, it was $30 cheaper.
I followed the instructions at:
http://www.the-digital-reader.com/2...ps-gplay-etc-on-polaroi-pmid701/#.UN48FG9X2WZ
The Play Store would say 'blah no data provisioning' or 'no reliable service...'.
I then went to Settings>Accessibility and at the bottom there is box to enhance web accessibility. I turned that on and launched the Market and followed the prompts. Afterwards a Google account was in my settings and I could access my apps at the Play Store. I then reset the Accessibility setting to 'Not Allowed' because I do not know what all it does.
I should also mention that I altered my '/etc/hosts' file, but I am not sure that was needed. I immediately downloaded the XDA app and saw your post. Wierd, huh?
Hope this helps.
Edit: I erased the google market and retried my steps and they failed. I had to install the apps in this order to get it to work again (I did leave the Accessiblity feature on again):
1) OneTimeInitializer-signed.apk
2) SetupWizard.apk
3) GoogleServicesFramework-signed.apk
4) vending-3.1.3-signed.apk
When I tried to connect with my gmail I got the same errors as above until I rebooted my tablet, it then finally connected. I sincerely hope this works for you. Also if you have installed any of the above, delete their data and reinstall.

I followed your instructions, but after the reboot, I still got the no data provisioning error. I then toggled the wifi to airplane mode and back and then I was able to sign in and download apps from the Market and the Gmail app began syncing. Chuck

That post will tell you all you need to know to get Google Play Store (the ICS version, whatever that was) on your PMID720. I just finished doing it, and it is working fine. If only my wireless at home was! lol
I used the wireless adb portion of the play_alpha2 package. It worked flawlessly, once I realized which copy I needed to download. They all have exactly the same name, but they're not all identical packages.
Good luck!

Updated method!!!
I can't be the only one out here still using this tablet and trying to figure out how to improve it! The Google Apps are still working just fine. No forced closes or errors of any kind. I am pleased as punch about this, but it's kinda frustrating to come in so late in the game and find nobody looking anymore.

[Q] GT-I9500 Google's apps (Gmail, Play Store, Hangouts) Not working Android 4.3

Hi guys,
I am a newbie here, so I will just explain it in layman's terms. I am running Android 4.3 on Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 variant. Its not rooted. I have been using it since I bought it a year ago, with no problems. Since yesterday my Gmail, Play Store, Hangouts are not working and it always give "No Connection" error. I tried clearing up the cache, clearing up the data of Google Play Store and Google Play Services as many other forums and threads have advised, but it's not working. I also tried the factory reset, and it went crazier as I wasn't able to sign in my Google Account in the first place. After trying again and again and again it miraculously signed in, but I still cannot access Google's other apps. I thought somehow the host file can be responsible for it but I don't know how it could be or how to fix it, if it is the culprit. I will be grateful to you guys if you can help out here
Thanks

I have the same issue on a GT-I9505 since tuesday 27/05, reseting the phone makes things work for about 15 minutes, then they all stop working.
I am going to try to figure out if it was something that got installed in the last few days, if all fails I will try a factory reset and later a new ROM.

Play store Error [RPC:S-7:AEC-7]

Hello everybody. I have been having problems with downloading items from the Play store on my Android phone. After spending hours trying to solve the issue by myself and seeking help unsuccessfully, I've gotten desperate.
The problem description is that every time I try to download an app from the Store, I'm presented with the following error message:
<app name> could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-7:AEC-7 3YGA-G3G7-CV0FK]) This happens with either purchased or free apps, and with both new or ones that are already installed on my phone.
I've been trying to research the issue. XDA even has a guide on play store errors and have found recommendations for error messages similar (not identical) to mine, but none of what I have found has helped me.
Here is what I have tried so far
-Cleared app store, download manager, play services and services framework cache and data on my phone.
-Uninstalled and reinstalled the play store app on my phone.
-Removed and re-created my account on Settings -> Account on my phone.
-Factory reseted my phone.
I will appreciate any advice you can give me regarding the matter.
Best regards.
tl;dr version: <app name> could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-7:AEC-7 3YGA-G3G7-CV0FK]) when trying to get stuff from the play store app on my phone. Tried all of the above.
Hi, I have had similar issues to what you describe. I have found that Google Play seems to throw an error whenever I try to download an app using a Google account that isn't registered to Google Plus (Google +). I would suggest signing up for Google + (even though you may never actually use the social network) and try downloading the app again.
Alternatively, you could sign in using a different account already signed up to Google + and try downloading the app.
Another thing you should make sure is that your Google Play Services are up to date.
If you are using an older Android version, the app may simply not be supported on that version of Android (in which case, you may want to look into installing the latest update from your manufacturer or flashing a custom rom of the newest version possible for your device)
Let us know if signing up for Google + does anything.
Good luck,

OK, I'm ecstatic! First of all, thank you for your reply.
Although I didn't have much hopes of joining G+ to be the solution, it turned out it worked to fix the problem as per your advice. After hours of struggling, you save me from more aggravation. Thank you, thank you. I am truly grateful.

I'm glad I could help, you're welcome
Tried clearing data/cache for Play Store apps, flushing the hosts file to just 127.0.0.1 localhost, and tried connecting to G+. G+ is giving a can't connect to the server error. I may just have to go back to MoDaCo Gr9.2 and forget about rooted 6.3.3. At least Play worked on MoDaCo last time I used it.
