I bought a new LG G5 AT&T phone from B&H photo. I used it in cricket wireless network. It works ok, but the firmware is old (March), the tried software update, but it said software is up-to-date. Is there any way I can trigger firmware update?
Kdz? Maybe it be easier

Go to root section of this site for LG G5. Go to autoprime page lgup and kdz page. Read directions and ask questions on that page.

I had to send my v10 to LG for warranty repair. When I got it back in the mail it had been updated to latest mm 6.0. I got the bootloader unlocked using root methods posted but can't get twrp to flash using standard adb. Is there any possible way to root on this software version?? If not I'm gonna have to get another phone can't stand no root. Screenshot attached shows my software version. Thanks.
There is currently no method to root on the official 6.0 update. Unfortunately there is also no way to rollback to LP.
You're stuck with a lot of other good people who are waiting and hoping for someone to get this figured out hopefully soon... Including those with the tmobile version of the G5.
The general idea and hope seems to be that the method will be the same for both and it will be found/released soon!

Any idea if that Vietnamese crew was able to list how they rooted the 6.0 mm v10? I'm still hoping there's a solution soon!

I think tungkick has found root for us.
Go into the Development section and read Eliminater74s V20 Thread... The last few pages discusses it.

I had this same screen last week. I bricked my device. Brought back to life with kdz. Use LGUP and your version of stock kdz.

I had that problem it was a faulty USB unit (bit at the bottom of phone)
It says there are 2 updates but it won't download them.
I have the H850 with EE branded software. I'm assuming that this is the Nougat update as others have flashed it and someone has posted a link to a firmware list with it on. I thought about downloading it from there but LG UP doesn't work either, just get an error message when it starts up.
Any thoughts?

Got the OTA update downloading now so it doesn't really matter now. But if anyone does have any solution that might be useful I'd appreciate it.

So much for converting my AT&T LG V10 to a T-Mobile variant.
Hey, folks!
I'm at the end of my provider contract and they offer me a new contract including a LG G5 SE. On several websites I read that its not possible to root it, which is necessary.
Can someone confirm that?
Greetings and Thanks!

Also the us unlocked version RS988 is now officially unlockable and has TWRP and root but no current ROM development.
So h850 EU open market, t mobile h830 and us unlocked rs988 are only unlocked and rootable g5s for now.

Thanks, mate. LG really sucks atm. I've chosen the Huawei P9 as my next phone.
