htc one x+ bootloop - HTC One X+

I never unlocked or rooted my X+ and a year ago I handed it over to my wife, who is a newbe anyway.
For unknown reason the X+ is stuck in a bootloop now.
a) If I power on <vol down>-key shows msg:
*** LOCKED ***
ENRC2B_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.72.0000
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-3.1204.171.33
eMMC-bootmode: disabled
CPU-bootmode: disabled
HW Secure boot: enabled
MODEM PATH : OFF
Jun 21 2013, 17:36:36
...
I cannot navigate to FASTBOOT, RECOVERY or FACTORY RESET
because the message shows up only for a fraction of a second
and the X+ boot loops again (and again and again ...)
b) if I connect with my laptop <vol down>-key shows above msg with different tail:
...
HBOOT
SD Checking...
Failed to open usb master mode
loading PM35IMG.zip image ...
Failed to open usb master mode
Please plug off USB
and the X+ boot loops again (and again and again ...)
htc quietly brilliant
Any hint welcome

Sounds like a corrupt boot.img you might be able to get it to run the RUU from HTC. I will post a link to my google drive, once I find and upload the one I have in my archived files. It will totally wipe the phone, but from the sounds of it you can't access anything on it anyways right now.

Here's the link to the RUU:

[Q] Hero HBOOT-1.76.007 bricked ?

i received phone from T-mobile Slovak Republic, after power on it hang on this screen:

MICROP-010f
TOUCH PANEL-SYN0104

RUU
at the botom of the screen is picture with crossmarked chip.
I downloaded original ROMs from this forum and tried to flash them into Hero but some of them does not detect connected Hero and the others says:
Checking custom ID...
Update fail!
on PC Error 131 Customer ID error
Is there any way how to get this phone working ?
Tnxs
You can extract ROM from RUU tmobile and flash it by using fastboot,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=714519
use this metod but take tmobile ruu from shipped-roms.com
Moved to Q&A as not development
i take rom.zip from RUU instalation renamed to HEROIMG.zip, format memory card to FAT32 etc etc... when i put into phone press down key + power on but nothing change... phone enter HBOOT screen and hang on, when i press HOME or BACK button nothing change...
What is wrong ? What type of RUU flash file i must use ? I havent got T-mobile Slovakia flash file, only DE, UK, PL...
Maybe your VOL- button is stuck?....
volume - button was ok before...
any idea?
Can you get it to fastboot flash (from fastboot on pc command line)? I know it won't flash, but it should help see if it is responsive.
What does it mean "from fastboot on pc command line)" i dont know this way...
tnx ROpa

[Q] bricked HTC velocity not seen by fastboot windows (can find a way out on my own)

im running window 8.1 fresh installation
I was given a htc velocity not sure if it was rooted, but the loading screen was a duck riding a skateboard in a wheel (so i assumed so).
my bootloader headings are (as seen in the photo in the first mega file) :
*** UNLOCKED ***
HOLIDAY PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.85.0029
OpenADSP-v02.6.0.2226.00.0202
eMMC-boot
Mar 15 2012.17:16:42
I went to change the rom to cm 10.2, i first wiped data/factory reset and the cache as well from bootloader.
Installed custom zip from sdcard no problem. When I boot the device after I installed the rom, it boots past the htc logo into the cyanogenmod boot screen and stays there bricked, but animation still running. Now this is where I ****ed up, the tutorial said if you have S-On you should flash the boot.img via fastboot, but I hadnt read that yet because it was after the instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2026675
Now ive been looking up tutorials on unbricking htc phones, they say that all htcs are the same in this way or somewhat or whatever. Most tutorials used fastboot command prompt on windows to get it unbricked. But when I type in fastboot devices into the android dir with the fastboot files, no devices, no text come up just newline. The heading FASTBOOT doesnt turn into FASTBOOT USB when usb is plug into the velocity.
velocity fastboot photo:

velocity recovery screen:

Thats all I think I know, but ive probably left something out, if you need more info, ask, thanks in advances.

[Q] Phone stuck at HTC Logo - ADB cannot detect phone

Hi,
I had rooted my HTC One X+ phone quite some time back, and had used a couple of custom ROM's.
Later I decided to install HTC stock ROM and installed HTC Sense 4 version by using ZIP file, through custom recovery. It was working fine.
I had got a message on the phone that an update is available for Sense 5 version (4.2.2 I think). I opted for the update.
After the update, the phone is stuck on HTC boot logo.
Since the phone was rooted earlier, and had installed some custom ROM's, I have TWRP installed on this device, which I can access. When I power on by pressing power ON button and VOL DOWN button, I am able to boot into the boot loader, which shows the following:
**********
***UNLOCKED***
ENRC2B_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT 1.72.0000
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-3.1204.171.33
eMMC-bootmode: disabled
CPU-bootmode:disabled
HW Secure boot:enabled
MODEM PATH: OFF
HBOOT
< VOL UP > ......
< VOL DOWN > ....
< POWER > ....
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SHOW BARCODE
IMAGE CRC
When I select RECOVERY, I can boot into TWRP Recovery Manager (TWRP v2.4.1.0 Venom)
I have options: INSTALL, WIPE, BACKUP, RESTORE, MOUNT, SETTINGS, ADVANCED and REBOOT
If I select INSTALL, I can see the file system; /sdcard directory is accessible
Under RESTORE I am not able to see file system or packages
Under MOUNT, I am having option to "Mount USB Storage". But this is not helping anything.
Under ADVANCED, I am seeing other options including TERMINAL COMMAND and ADB SIDELOAD
Now, the phone is not appearing as a device when I connect to PC Windows 8.1 (even when I try the "Mount USB Storage" as above). Also, when I connect the phone and try "adb devices", it fails to list the phone. I have installed HTC drivers including HTC Sync Manager. It starts up but says it is unable to connect to the HTC Phone (or no phone connected).
With this situation, can something be done to bring the phone to usable condition? Please let me know if any additional information is needed.
I would like to install HTC Stock ROM with Sense 5. I have a ZIP file for this on PC.
Please help.
Sanjay
Hi,
The problem is solved.
I referred to Lucky Thirteen's post and followed instructions using "Fastboot".
I flashed the boot.img file corresponding to the ROM and now the phone is booting and working normally

Sanjay

Please help me i am not able to see my phone on the laptop screen and i have same problem as of yours

Stuck in Bootloop, HBOOT options not all working...

So I've scoured the internet/Google for HOURS trying to find a solution to my issue. I left my office with my phone charging on a charger plugged into the wall, then came back about 40 minutes later to find my phone black-screened. No charging light on my charger, so I tried a different outlet, a different charger, and still no power. Then I plugged it into my desktop computer and it booted up!! Great!...except, all it DID was boot up to the white HTC screen...and repeated it over and over and over...
After a lot of research and learning a bit about bootloop, I discovered the HBOOT menu, pressing the POWER and VOL DOWN keys at the same time. Luckily, this worked. I managed to find the HBOOT menu, and this is what I was greeted with:
*** LOCKED ***
MONARUDO PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.57.0000
RADIO-1.02.01.0818
OpenDSP-v12.120.274.0909
OS-4.09.605.5
eMMC-boot 2048MB
Aug 27 2014, 13:22:15.0
HBOOT
<VOL UP> to previous item
<VOL DOWN> to next item
<POWER> to select item
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
CHECK SMARTSD
IMAGE CRC
SHOW BARCODE
Well, the last two options work, and FASTBOOT brings me to another menu screen:
BOOTLOADER
REBOOT
REBOOT BOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN
And of those, the 2nd and 3rd bring me into bootloop again, and the 4th actually powers it down and sometimes shows me a battery-icon (as my phone would NORMALLY show when powered down and charging, but no charging animation is shown) and a lit charging light, but only briefly before going into bootloop.
Trying RECOVERY brings me into bootloop, and as a last-ditch effort, I tried FACTORY RESET, but that also brought me into bootloop (would trying that have already erased my memory? I haven't backed up my photos and other files in awhile...).
Anyways, if ANYONE can give me ANY help with this, it would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!
-Marc.
You can get into fastboot, good. See if the below can get your phone up and running. If it doesn't work, I don't know if the special commands @dottat knows would work on a locked and s-on device to try and manually repartition. Hopefully he can verify in his free time.

I downloaded the 4.09.605.5 wizard and everytime I try to run it while my phone is connected to my computer, it keeps giving me the ERROR [107]: USB CONNECTION ERROR, even though my FASTBOOT menu says FASTBOOT USB, which I guess means it is connected, but for some reason, the program isn't reading the phone as such.
I also tried downloading the third link in the thread you linked me to, but the folder isn't unzipping for some reason on my computer. Am I doing something wrong or am I missing something?

Connection error could be driver issues. What drivers and OS are on your PC?
That third zip is a flashable firmware for s-off.

I'm using my office computer at work since my HP Pavilion died on me early last month (Yeah, I've been having bad luck with my tech lately...). I'm running Windows 7 on this Dell desktop, but I'm not sure I have the proper drivers on it for my phone. Unfortunately, I don't have the required ADMIN credentials to run any .exe's to install the proper drivers for my phone (as I just tried that with this link - http://www.theandroidsoul.com/?files_box=d56b9fc4b0f1be8 )

Yeah, to have fastboot commands or ruu working, you would need to install drivers and a work PC would not have the correct ones.

[Q] Help Please 601 Desire locked in boot loop

Hi there
I have an HTC Desire 601 running Android 4.2.2, that is stuck in a boot loop. The device gets to the white HTC screen and then shuts down only to reboot. I can go into the HBoot menu but when I try to do a recovery, it tells me ther eare no CW files. When I press fastbook a message quickly scrolls by that says it can't find the 0P4Eduag.zip file. When I connect it to the computer to use ADB or Fastboot to flash a new rom, it gives a signature verification error. I can't unlock the bootloader because the HTC unlocker doesn't recognize the phone. The phone is locked, the security is s-o.
Here is the information from the HBOOT screen.
ZARA_UL PVT SHLP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.22.0000
RADIO-1.21.40e.0027

eMMC-Boot 1024MB

I have seen solutions that star with saying S must be off. But I don't know how to do that.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you
