Google Pixel Heating - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My google pixel is heating u der normal usage. Sometimes i just browse the net or watch some videos and the device gets heated up. I tried using greenify for killing the background processes but it didn't work. Sometimes the peak temperature rises upto 46°C. I also tried factory reset but looks like there was no use doing that. Also I've restricted the background data usage for many apps like the spotify beta and facebook. Under normal usage means using only one app the temperature reaches upto 36°C. Can't really understand what the problem is. Plz help.

[Q] Application which forces all processes to 0% cpu usage when idle?

My idle cpu usage seems a little high and sporadic and I'd like to force them all to 0% when idle but still be able to receive background data like for instance my play store seems to use a continuous idle usage and a few others. I can freeze them with the System Tuner but I'd prefer to Globally force all apps to 0% usage so I'm getting say 1% usage at idle on occasion every hour or few hours? When I use System Monitor, I see my cpu usage kind of jumping from 0 to up to 35-40% while idling and I don't want these apps using any resources at idle. I'm trying to extend battery life a lot more.
My battery life is really good already since I have a 3600mah battery but I could get even better if I can dial in the usage at idle.
Is there application that can do that?
On another note, I can't seem to figure out why my Google Calendar won't open a "New Event" it just sits on the Loading... Screen
Thanks
Greenify! It's in the play store for free
Me Gusta!
Greenify is best for hibernate user apps you can also prevent system apps with Rom Toolbox>app manager>select app>advance freeze>disable useless services
Use Ds battery saver pro for better deep sleep
If your android version is 4+ go to settings>developer options>choose background processes atmost 2

I wish the Developer options for the the services would stick after reboot since it always reverts...

None of those things changed it, still getting a minimum of 15% usage at complete idle with 0 processes allowed and close every app after use.
Not sure what do here... Battery life while in use is poor just because of those background load.

Google services battery drain after lollipop

Ok so after the Lollipop update my battery life has been less than stellar. On kit kat i would usually have around 40% battery life left at the end of a day with medium use but now with lollipop I'm ending the day closer to 15% with the same use. This is usually with between 2 and 3 hours SOT. The only thing I've noticed that is any different is google services seems to be using more battery than normal, not a ton but more. Also i cant seem to get it to go into low battery use in location setting, it always stays on high battery use even when in battery savings mode. Anyone with thoughts on this?
Have you tried using greenify? It stops apps from refreshing in the background and if you buy the pro version you can stop system apps from refreshing. You may want to try this xposed module it will go and save major battery. I personally am on barepop (I uninstalled some extra apps though) and have both apps running in the background and I it takes about 10 minuates for the battery to die by even 1%. By the time I wake up and use my phone with heavy use all day long (6am-4pm est) I get home without about 60-65% of battery. You may also want to turn things off when your not using them such as data/nfc and bluetooth.

I am not rooted and am trying to stay that way, at least for a while. I do have greenify but only the free version so it is kind of limited. I haven't found any wakelock detectors that work without root so i cant get any real specifics on whats causing the drain. I just find it strange that google services will not go into low battery mode.
Try this guide it should allow you to stop apps from running in the background:http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/2trjxf/xpost_rlgg3_the_g3_has_a_hidden_nonroot

thanks, ill look into it
OK Best of luck.
Nothing in there for anything related to Google services. I don't know why it wont go into low battery usage, i checked all my Google settings and still cant figure it out.
Ok, well today i decided to just uninstall updates for google services, reboot, install the updates, and reboot again. And after dealing with the phone telling me there was no sim card twice, everything seemed to go back to normal, no more high battery usage from google services.

Android System using 50% of Battery

Hi guys,
I'm having massive problems with my phone. As you can see here, the Android System has used up 50% of my total battery and there is no way I can make it stop.
{I tried inserting images but cannot due to 'new user'. The picture basically says that Android System uses 50% of battery, when phone is at 2% battery and that the CPU on time was just over 8 hours.}
System and Apps are updated to the most recent versions.
I tried
- disabling permissions for all apps (which has led to some follow up problems, and briefly fixed the problem, but it has reappeared now)
- deleting data from Google Play Services
- deleting cached data from system storage
I didn't try factory resetting my phone, since I am hesitant to go through the hassle of backup recovery.
Any input? Might it be possible to further dissect the 'Android System' process with a program somehow, so I can see specifically which request/app is keeping the Android System busy for 8 (!!!!) hours?
This has even affected my charging times, which are now abysmal, because the f*cking process keeps on sucking energy while charging. I also frequently am putting my phone into flight mode during the day, just to extend the lifetime somewhat.
Thank you.

try one of the wakelock detectors in my case a no root one have to set up adb or throught chrome it gives instrucs but it can tell u whats keeping ure device awake
ive noticed facebook syncing locations even aftermarket messangers can do it
id start there also u can try booting into safe mode for a couple days and see if its a rouge 3rd party app if safe mode proves effective try disabling all 3rd party apps and ever 2 hours or so reenable 1 by one and see if one of them are causing it

1. Ensure that the battery level is higher than 20%. When the power is low, your phone's performance will be limited in order to allow the battery to last longer and to protect the phone. We recommend charging your phone and then checking if performance is still poor.
2. Uninstalling the Third-party Phone Manager apps. If Third-party Phone Manager apps is installed on your mobile phone, uninstall the application and try again. Generally, this type of software conflicts with the phone manager of the mobile phone. As a result, frame freezing occurs.
3. Using the official stable system. If your phone has been rooted, restore it to the official version.
4. Closing apps running in the background. If there are too many applications running in the background, the phone may freeze. You can touch the Recent key and close apps running in the background.
5. Restart your phone. If the phone is not powered off for a long time, too much data is cached in the system and the phone is not running properly. Please restart your phone.
I have 49°C on standby, and it reaches 53°C while using social apps. Tryed everything to fix that, nothing works for my p20 lite
