I don't know why this happened. I'm using the tempered glass screen cover. Can anyone say what it this and what should I do?

Run some of the extra tools in AnTuTu to check if it's an actual screen problem.
Might be a "bubble" under the screen protector - can you "move" it with your finger when applying pressure?
Is it a spot where the screen is brighter? If so, I think it's a defect related to the backlight. I bought a cheap replacement screen for my Nexus 5 when I broke my original one and over time it's developed more and more bright areas. I suspect something is delaminating causing uneven backlighting. I believe it can also happen due to water/liquid damage, but in my case phone phone did not get wet.
Actually, I just tried twisting my phone and also applying pressure to the screen and noticed the LCD reacts (flashes) in those areas when I press hard, so I think it may be an issue with the LCD panel itself, not the backlight. In any case, I doubt there's much you can do about it, and be warned it could get worse (I used to have a spot or two near the bottom of my screen, but now I have them all over the screen.) In my case I've just learned to live with it, telling myself having paid $35 for a screen which developed this problem is a lot better than living with a cracked screen, and I'll have a new phone soon, but I would not expect this problem with a new phone.

I recently replaced the screen and lcd on my rezound, however after doing so it seems that the nav buttons no longer light up, also my screen within 3-4 days now accumulates excessive dust under the screen. I'm not sure whether the nav buttons normally do not light up after the lcd get replaced because the same thing happened when changing it on my droid incredible.
However the real question is how to stop this dust. I have opened and cleaned it multiple times and even made sure everything was nice and tight (i.e. no missing screws and stuff) Any ideas on how to fix these problems?
Do you have the adhesive layer between the digitizer and LCD?
I have the same issue with my phone, I really miss the lights. I'm about to open it up and see if I can see why...
And about the screen, you got the digitizer + glass combo right? I have the same thing. Try taking the glass off, use compressed air to get everything off the screen then make sure it's a tight fit with the adhesive when you put it back on lol.
In the general section there's a thread from a while ago about replacing the digitizer. You might get some tips from that if you can find it.
Here's a few:

Ok, firstly I'll admit that I suffer from a certain level of OCD when it comes to phones. I ordered a GPE last week and was very impressed with the phone. The size is a bit large, but everything else, except for the camera, is phenomenal with this phone.
However, about one week after I got the phone, I noticed what can best be described as a smudge on the front lower right corner, about the radius of a quarter. Granted, since it is at the corner, the total size would be a quarter of a quarter. Anyway, it is usually hard to see it unless you run your finger over the area, whereby the spot becomes clearly visible. I don't know if it is a scratch on the screen protector, but I can't feel any texture and light doesn't seem to show any micro abrasions. It almost seems to be under the screen protector.
Anyway, the unit also had a weird creak on the back of the phone (pressing it in an area would make the phone creak), so I asked for a replacement unit. I got it yesterday and what do you know, the smudge is there on the new unit, too! So my question to other Z Ultra owners is whether this is a common thing and secondly, whether it is an issue with the screen protector only, not some damage to the screen.
The best way I can describe it is as if someone applied pressure on the corner leaving a mark. Again, it is really hard to see if the screen is clean, but becomes easily visible if you smudge the corner with your finger - a clearly visible quarter-circle will become visible if your phone is like mine. Thanks for your help. BTW, I'm going to keep my phone unless it turns out that the smudge is some kind of pressure damage.
The anti finger print coating wears off real fast on the xzu, only way to solve this is to either remove the sony screen protector or apply another screen protector on top of it. Mine wore out in a week, and your replacement gpu is most likely a used defective unit being refurbished. The reason why the smudge is on the lower right corner is because that's the area you use most often....for scrolling and unlocking the screen, hence the wear out

I'm not so sure my replacement unit is a refurbished one. I believe Google has a policy to replace phones with new devices. Also, it is basically the exact place and shape as the smudge on my previous phone, and this unit has been used for only a bit more than 24 hours. The smudge starts at the lower right corner of the glass on the front of the device and goes as far as barely short of the actual display portion of the glass slab.
With sample of two devices, it seems to be a result of the manufacturing process because the two are so similar. Just weird. I guess if it really gets under my skin I'll try to remove the film.
I had the same thing, only in the lower left corner, but i got my screen replaced (for a different reason), and the screen protector i got on the new display is looking good. It's only the oleophobic coating that's wearing off, but i understand how that can be incredible annoying.

Believe what you want to believe. Although I'm telling you its a used device...do you really think they'll thrash all units sent back and dispatch new ones every time someone RMA their phone. Anyways, the solution have been stated out for you, choose what floats your boat

I suppose that theory is as good as any. Nice device anyway. Thanks for the reply!
Yes you can hide it.
apply any screen protector on top. The sh!tty smudge will not visible any more.
Sorry to necro this old thread.
I just wanted to add that I have the exact same issue. Noticed it today while going to show someone it.
I've been babying the heck out of the phone to prevent this issue, but unfortunately my screen protector and case won't show up until a few days from now.
I'm hoping applying the screen protector over it is all I need to do.
I figured I'd post in this thread in case someone else also had this issue and was unaware of this common issue.
Smudge in up left corner
Hi.Just bought this phone and when i clean the screen from fingerprints i see a smudge or mark or whatever its called about 1 x 1 cm in the left up corner. Is it normal?
If you look carefully it seems to be from inside and it doesnt leave. You can see it better only when you pass over it with a towel while cleaning the screen.
Is it something with antistutter film?Warranty covers it?
Thanks in advance
I have it also, 1 day old phone. Hard to believe it is wear.

Hello Everyone,
I did a search but I didn't see anyone else posting something about this, but it seems likes my display glass is starting to separate from my phone about halfway down the body. The glass is now a hair higher that the actual plastic body on the left and I can physically push it down and the screen actually shows a wave, like when pressing too hard on an LCD or touching a non-touchscreen. I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue?
I am trying to determine my best option for warranty service as I used the transfer the upgrade trick on VZW and don't want to throw up any red flags. I also want to keep my battery door because I have the wireless charging sticker on it.

Well that's no good! Sorry to hear that, I've not seen anywhere online either where people are having that problem.
As far as your options go though... Not sure you have many. You can either pay someone to replace the screen, if it's repairable and you can find someone.... Or obviously you'd have to just go for the insurance... I'm curious, how would you throw up any red flags if in fact there is something as obviously detected as your screen? I've not done the " upgrade trick " myself so bear with me if that's a silly question.
Well I might be able to get replaced under Manufacturer Warranty as there are no signs of damage. I also do not have insurance on the phone.
I'm having the same problem, the middle left edge of my screen is lifting up (very slightly) as well. Light bleeds through the edge of the screen and the lcd changes color when I press with moderate pressure. I plan on contacting Verizon for warranty support tmrw.
So I spoke to VZW and they told me that the screen lifting off from the bezel is considered a physical defect rather than a manufacturers defect so it is not covered under warranty support. FWIW my phone has not sustained any major drops or any major damage at all...
Do you guys have the qi sticker on yours? Mine does and it's a really tight fit... I was thinking that maybe it could be pushing out the screen
My Verizon LG G3 screen is now separating from the midframe on both sides in the middle of each side. It is up about a 16th of an inch, can be pushed easily back down but doesn't stay. Light leaks from the edges.

I discovered I had a spare sd chip and spare sim stored under my battery. When I removed them both, reinstalled the battery and qi circle case, the light leaking was gone.
Looks like the G3 is pretty flexible and that the display is not glued down except at the corners. If you crowd it in the back, the display can bulge out the front of the frame. This doesn't mean its broken or defective, just tight.

Same thing has happened here on the left hand side only. I must admit I decided to store a spare SIM under the battery and a day or so later noticed a raised edge on the left side of the screen. I immediately realised this must be the case and removed the spare SIM but now the left side it ever so slightly raised, I notice this most when using the phone in the dark/dark areas as light bleeds out along that raised edge.
I may try get a replacement but since this is the second thing that occurred with the LG G3 for me (first was cracked camera lens) I may just come to the conclusion the LG cant cut it against my old Galaxy S3, which is still going without fault all these years. Might just be eyeing up a new S6 sometime in the future.
Just coming here to say that this is also happening to my device, only on the left side, as well.
I am trying to activate the warranty to get it fixed.

Me too.. Gonna see about getting it swapped
Did you guys bought your phone New from the store ? Like Verizon ?
This issues sound like the aftermarket LCD screens sold on eBay. I have bought 3 LCD screens from eBay. For the LG G2 twice and one for the G3. Once installed and a few uses on the phone, parts of the glass lifts up from the LCD and frame. That's cause they're high quality not genuine LG screens... They don't have the good loca glue on the screen.
I am experiencing the same problem. i only bought it in June 2015 and I don't know how that happened because I haven't even dropped it once.
I am thinking to claim the warranty. Because it seems like the glue has come off of it.
Yup. Mine is doing this too now... awesome! Left side as well. This is my 3rd G3 since July 2014 - I'm done with LG.
From what I've seen on other phones, the screen is often held on by some kind of adhesive. Considering this phone gets red hot if you do two things, like talk on the phone and try to web browse (like so hot it's hard to even hold), it probably slowly breaks down the adhesive holding the screen on.
My vs985 display lifts a bit in the middle along both sides, but only when I have a spare sim or sim adapter attached back there with the battery.
Doesn't take much.

Same. Light leaks out the Sides

A solution would be a case that cover that area of the phone. for example:
http://www.amazon.com/G3-Case-Bastex-Heavy-Protective/dp/B00PIYNE7Y/ref=sr_1_12?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1448743612&sr=1-12&keywords=g3+case
It's that Wireless Charging unit in the cover that brings the display up. Notice how the bleeding disappears when you take the cover off.
If you're not big on wireless charging, I suggest you perform operations on your backcover and get that bump out of there.
My LG G3 seemed to be having the same problem as well. It has beeen lifting slightly on both of the long sides and if it is on i can look at the side of the phone and see light escaping from the display. I orginally thought the my screen was somehow bent, but out of curiousity i inspected the back on the phone. In that i found that somehow my battery seems to be pushing my display out of the midframe... When i take the battery out the screen returns to the midframe on its own. When i try to put the battery back in it pokes out slighlty then when i put it in completely the display pops back out slightly on both sides again. I dont know how to fix this issue but if someone could figure it out that would be appericated.

Have you tried a new battery? Is your battery swollen? Sometimes they get bloated when they go bad.
These past few days, I've been noticing unresponsiveness to touch in a certain part of my screen. This screenshot shows what I mean. I never lifted my finger while drawing, and I swiped up and down continuously. The middle band of unmarked screen seems to be failing and only works when pressed harder. Am I going to have to get it repaired? I'm tempted to use this as an excuse to jump to the G4 when it comes out but I'd rather get this fixed if there's any way I can do it

I recently broke my screen glass and digitizer. I had a region that was vertically oriented that didn't work over the rest of the screen. It is possible that the digitizer or maybe connections to the digitizer are broken. I ended up buying a new screen, as it comes with the digitizer and glass. Reading about it sounded like a huge pain to even think about just replacing the digitizer and glass. The new screen was around $70-80 on Amazon. Process was well documented on iFixit and youtube. The only problem I had was that I didn't receive my order of adhesive tape and didn't want to wait. Now I have a 1 inch area that leaks light. I can live with it until I decide it is worth cracking open again to properly seal it up.
I own a Xperia z1 and last night I dropped my phone while I was asleep, then figured out that my tempered glass got cracked but display is safe. However, I didn't remove the broken tempered glass, so this morning I noticed that a small black dot appears in the broken area which is at the bottom of the screen quite close to the back button. I thought that it is some dead pixels, but I am not sure, well in screen test I see missing pixels in white screen. So I took a screenshot but it doesn't show the black dot. I just want to know is it possible that I might have a damaged display?
I repair phones for a living. Sounds like a classic case of LCD damage.

So taking a Screenshot of a damaged screen will not help us to find the dead pixels?
Not sure I understand your question. You see the dead pixels but it doesn't show up on the screenshot? That means that the LCD has been damaged and needs a new display.
