Nor Kies or my pc is detecting my S5 anymore. PC will say usb device not recognized and i can't access my folders through it. I reinstalled the Samsung drivers and also installed Switch but nothing works. Any help appreciated .

Guys, when I connect mobile to PC via USB, I can not access files, it's not even detected. What to do?
Did you put it in USB mode?
Settings > Wireless and Network > USB Utils
More to the point did you read the manual and install Kies .

Strange is that I have the newest Kies but still I can connect GS2 only with Kies air. With USB cable the PC Win xp says that cant recognise the USB device. And through kies air I cant view folders and copy directly to them. Or is XP too old for samsung

I had problems with the drivers on W7 because I had an older version of KIES installed and when I installed KIES 2 it didn't work so I uninstalled everything related to KIES, reinstalled 2.xxx and now it works fine.

I have a 9100 that I try to make windows 7 x64 detect. I tried with the drivers and even with kies but the phone is simply not detected as if it was not connected with the usb cable. I played with debug on/off, and mount button but nothing worked.
I can charge the battery with the usb cable but cant xfer files, its only charging the pone, nothing else.
Any idea of what could be the problem ?
Install usb drivers via kies.

Hi,
I already done that, still no detection, its not even telling unknown device.
Just as any other windows hardware reboot phone reboot PC .
Boot phone set to USB mode in settings connect cable wait for windows to install drivers .
KIES tools Install driver .
That fails read all the other exact same posts for a solution .

It was the usb cable the problem. I changed it, now its working, thx for the help.

I have an SGS3 int'l version that has recently developed a USB issue after an unsuccessful attempt to update my firmware using Kies. Whenever the phone is plugged in via USB it will begin charging, but the PC doesnt recognize the phone at all. I have reinstalled kies with no luck.
Any ideas on the USB issue and how to possibly fix it?
Try reinstalling drivers.

I uninstalled and reinstalled KIes (which includes the device drivers)...
I had same problem, and after 2 days to find a solution, i re-install win7 and it works directly
So you've got a problem with your win7.

im on the old XP. I had no problems before, but after I was trying upgrade my firmware using Kies (it was stuck during the process), so I closed the program rebootd the Pc. Then the phone is not recognized at all...only charges when usb connected..

Reboot PC.
Reboot phone then replug it.
Possibly use a different USB connector

Ya I did all that...now Im stumped..
When I connect the s3 to the pc, the phone immediately pops up "connected as a media device" , but the pc is not showing anything or picking anything up...
Try it on another computer (preferably Windows 7).
That'll allow you to see if the issue is on phone- or computer-side.
When i connect the phone to the usb it begins to charge but the pc does not recognize the phone. when i look it up through my computer what i see is 'media stick'. My phone reads mtp and shows the universal logo of a usb... SOME HELP PLS!!!
did you install samsung usb drivers to your phone ?

Download Samsung KIES on PC. That will automatically download drivers required.

i cannot connect to odin when in download mode... i tried different cable and usb port but nothing, i opened the usb debugging mode .
but still nothing . all drivers are installed, i hear the ding while connecting the usb cable but odin shows nothing
help please
Make sure kies isn't installed on the same machine, try another pc. Lots of similar threads, search for other solutions.
