I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, explosions, wars, broken phone or charger, or you getting fired because the alarm application failed, Please read the first 2 posts carefully before deciding to install this app.
This is my new app to control charging current on Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon) , to use this app you must be on any 6.0.1 or 7.1.1 rom, this will not work on 5.1.1 roms. The app is compatible with all kernels including stock cm kernel. Increasing charge rate is not always effective because of hardware limitations, but decreasing it below 2000 works very effectively.
Usage Instructions -
Install the kenzo charge control app
Open the app and wait for it to set permissions
Enter charge rate value and click set rate button
Enjoy your custom charge rate
Important Information -
Don't use very high values, prefer to stay below 2500 mA current
Compatible only with RN3(Snapdragon) and only with CM/ASOP roms
There is no apply on boot option yet, I'm little lazy to add that

Make sure your charger is not plugged it, it should work then, if still not working then try with my kernel, it works fine for me.
Are you gonna release version for miui based Roms?

Yes if you are on a qc enabled kernel
Kenzo Charge Control V1.1 works fine on Radon V2.5.1. Thank you.
Hey @Umang96 I would like to know what are the benefits of limiting the charging rate? Better battery life? I want to understand what's the use of the app-
Decreasing charge rate than what's set by default is not a very wise thing to do.
Xiaomi set 2A as the default max allowed input charge, also hardware is also limited to that, that's the reason your device charges quickly from 0-35%. After it slows down as current in battery has also increased so overall Potential difference has decreased which results in long hours of charging.
Decreasing charge rate is not logical as it would not allow to charge efficiently after a certain period time when say when you reach 90%. As the max current is now capped at lower rates so less charge will go inside the battery and thus making it difficult for the charger to charge. Tweaking what's already set to the optimal settings is not a good idea. Xiaomi did what it could to charge this humongous battery.
But in the end it's the call of the users

I don't know, some users fear high charging rates or heat, users like to change charge rate, thats why I made the app, personally I use default 2A only.
This thread seems to attract more criticism than support, I just made the app for user demands, I don't even use it myself and I don't even get anything by it, I didn't make this thread to attract free criticism and spoil my day, I just tried to contribute something for some users who wanted charge rate control. I don't want to continue this now, link will still stay in op if anyone needs it, thread closed.

Hi,
I just wanted to know how does the mobile compares to the note 5 in terms of customization? I mean is there something like Knox in xiaomi phones which hinders rooting ? are there good custom ROMs that are close to stock as I seeing that many are using cyanogen mod and I don't want to use it.Are there any drawbacks I should know about? and finally, will this device have a good lifetime or will it stop receiving updates after a year or so? and if no then what device would you recommend ? Does it support Qualcomm quick charge ? will I lose the miui features if I use any of the custom roms ?
Here are a few things I like to highlight when people ask if they want to buy this phone
1. The camera SUCKS SO BAD. it gets even WORSE when you use custom ROMS
2. The custom ROMs will always be buggy because XIAOMI does not release the FULL codes/source for us to be able to have non-buggy custom ROMs
3. There are two ways to get updates; a. via stable ROM that gets updated like twice a year and b. Via developer/beta ROM that gets updated every week. You will get updates but XIAOMI is known to not upgrade the android version (like from marshmellow to nougat) but you will get updates just not android version updates.
4. Usually you will lose a few XIAOMI/MIUI features if you use custom ROMs (due to xiaomi not releasing full/complete source code)
5. You will need to ask permission to unlock bootloader and then root (takes around 1 week/3days to get it approved) and the process can be a hit or miss
6. No quickcharge. The Redmi Note 4 takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes from 1% to 100%
IF YOU WANT INSANE BATTERY LIFE get the REDMI NOTE 4X THAT IS BASED ON SNAPDRAGON 625 SOC
IF YOU WANT A LITTLE BIT MORE PERFORMANCE BUT SACRIFICE 50% BATTERY LIFE (COMPARED TO REDMI NOTE 4X) GET THE REDMI NOTE 4 BASED ON THE MTK HELIO X20
THE REDMI NOTE 4 HELIO X20 MTK IS KNOWN TO HAVE SOME HEATING ISSUES. IT CAN LAG IN GAMES DUE TO IT.
THE REDMI NOTE 4X SNAPDRAGON 625 DOES NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE BUT SACRIFICES LIKE 10% PERFORMANCE BUT ALMOST WITH ZERO GAMES LAG DUE TO ITS POWEREFFICIENT PROCESSOR
Hope this has helped you in any way
My opinion: For the price, there is no other better phone than the REDMI NOTE 4X SNAPDRAGON 625 but you will have to live with the bad camera (terrible in low light and indoors, decent in well lit environment) and possibility of not getting android version upgrades
. But you will get a snappy phone with very good battery life (10 hours screen on time form 2 days from 1 full charge).

-There custom roms based on stock miui. Check for Xiaomi.eu
-It does not support quickcharge right now. After kernel sources are released you will get almost qc 2.0(constant 2,5A charge)
-Xiaomi will release android 7 for this device but you will get miui 9-10-11 updates for 3 years.
-Rooting and unlocking is not that hard. No knox or any program to count that.

Thanks for your reply,
should I buy though the redmi note 4 or note 4x both are snapdragon variants?
xiaomi.eu doesn't seem to work for me btw
what is the best situation for the the phone ? I mean are there certain benefits to being rooted on stock ? or is there some good stock like custom rom or hybrid ones I should use like I dunno linage os ?
I don't know if my question is clear enough or not but what I mean is which of the choices I mentioned offers th best stability and gets the latest features ?

The Redmi Note 4 in general refers to the Redmi Note 4 MTK that is sold in China
The Redmi Note 4X is the snapdragon Version sold in CHINA
but
In certain countries, like Malaysia, where they dont sell the Redmi Note 4 MTK, the Snapdragon version is called Redmi Note 4. In Hong Kong the snapdragon version is called The Redmi Note 4, too, which makes it a little bit confusing.
@op is you never used miui rom my first advice to you go to Youtube and see miui 8 video some people like miui some hate it personally i hate miui too much so using custom rom.
In custom rom no bug at all just camera is not good compare to stock rom.
Rooting rn4 take apporx 10-15 days.

Check the link below. It explains rn 4 qualcom vs rn 4x
As a summary 4x supports more lte bands. Buy 4x.
http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=524344&extra=page=2&mobile=2
I suggest this device to you because it gives really good value for price.
Custom roms which based on miui is really close to stock rom. Always you have lineage option.
Miui is better on visuality and animations.
Lineage is better on performance. You have theme support as well. You can change visuality(menus, settings, status bar) to sony, samsung or huawei style.
Advantages of being rooted are removing ads, changing cpu freqs for better battery or performance. Double tap to wake, double tap to sleep options available when you are rooted.

if android Pie, i prefer Havoc OS 2.0.
if android Nougat, i prefer Lineages OS 14.1.
Oreo Roms are not recommended.
Highest battery backup is Nougat, follow by Pie, and then Oreo. Thanks
better use nougat roms or pie
oreo was the worst battery ever
My almost dead battery gets 7 hours sot on pie, while I got only 3 out of oreo.
liquid remix 10 is what I am using, almost no bugs
ported miui is good, but heats alot and sometimes lags with random reboots

Tried oreo and pie roms same sot and no benefits to going on pie or oreo so i back to Aex 7.1.2
Currently using MIUI 10 Oreo sGSI with Agni Kernel.
Screen time around 5:30 hours, no bugs affecting my experience at all (only screen flickering when changing screen brightness
Tried MIUIPro Mixmod right before this and had around 6h of screen on time, just changed to Oreo because I use the Google camera a lot.

the exynos s10/s10+ seems to be worse than the galaxy s8/s8+ and s9/s9+
I personally haven't stressed my phone that much and I didn't notice major battery drains, but I'm now thinking of returning my exynos s10
Just return it if you're not happy and get another phone that makes you happy.

I can get decent sots for now. I will try to stress my phone harder first and see how it goes, but those results seems wrong to me, it's not possible that an s8 lasts more than a s10+, what the hell is going on?

Maybe It's because I'm not using my phone too much for now, maybe some day I will need more power and I will discover it's sh*t as it is in the benchmarks. I made this post hoping for an expert to explain me this huge difference that there is even between a regular s8 and a s10+ in their test with the exynos variant. The problem seems to be related to high power drain from the wifi module, as notebookcheck says, but it's only a supposition.

after 4 days of my S10+(Exynos) learning usage pattern I tried Medium Power Saving mode but I kept resolution on Max and I set brightness to no decrease but I guess in High Power Mode you get that +10% for brightness...even in Medium Mode the phone was still snapy fast and I was happy with that..I got 5.5 hour SOT till I was down to 20% on my battery...before I owned S9+ Exynos and I got maximum 4 hours SOT with same daily usage and when I switched to Medium Power phone was laggy..slow...and I didnt save much battery. Today Im going to test High Power mode and see if its really bad but for now...my advice to you is switch to Medium Power...Exynos is really powerfull CPU so you wont notice any big slow downs.
Yeah I was expecting a lot more from the battery, and I've yet to reinstall all my old apps with TB, I think after I'll have all my stuff back it'll be even worse.
I'm with Davey Dual Sim, my Exynos is performing fantastic, both in performance & battery life.....:good:
Absolutely no complaints here, for me I see it as better than the Snapdragon 855 this year :good:
Same here my exynos is great in both performance and battery life
Also got the S10+ Exynos version, no problem at all. The battery lasts longer than my S7. Just use the phone as you do in your daily use and see what's going on.
