the media controls stopped working after a few days of use. I've tested on another device with an older version of Pocket Casts and it worked fine, so I've tried Pocket Casts on the Z5C and also Sony Music app, pressing vol+ + vol- togehter should skip track but it doesn't work any more. Stopped working after a few days of use, volume still adjusts fine. Pairs and plays fine.

My setup:
VS985 with CM13 nightlies (both clean install & dirty flash to most recent version; update on a daily basis and check if Bluetooth issue is fixed; no fix yet)
35B bootstack
Platronics BackBeat Fit headphones
Current issue: the "Play/Pause" button does not work as expected. Pressing the "Play/Pause" button does not toggle Play/Pause. Upon pressing the button, the music DOES get interrupted to the headphones for approx 1-2 seconds, but the track keeps playing behind the silence. Pressing the other functional Bluetooth button on the headset properly initiates the Google voice dial/launcher.
As a test to make sure it wasn't an issue with the headphones, I connected them to other devices (such as my Windows 10 laptop) and pressing "Play/Pause" on the headphones does toggle "Play/Pause" as expected.
Is this an expected/known issue with the CM13 ROM? with the bootstack? with the LG G3?
Is there an app/patch/configuration file I can modify to dictate the desired actions when pressing the Play/Pause button?
I installed the 777 Kernel last night and tried to use the Play/Pause button this morning. To my surprise, the music in the Google Music app stopped playing and the Spotify app began playing (it was previously closed, so it both opened and started playing).
This is leading me in the direction of believing that the solution is in the kernel, considering 35B & 777 kernels act differently. After a few searches I found a kernel command keycode_media_play_pause that - I believe (with very little programming knowledge) - controls the inputs from bluetooth devices.
Anyone think I'm on the right track or have any suggestions?
Completely wiped my device and clean installed 35B bootstack, 20160108 CM 13 nightly & Open Gapps Pico.
On first boot & pairing headphones, Play/Pause works perfectly!
I tested the headphones after installing each app and my problem came back after installing Stitcher Radio for Podcasts. This kind of makes sense as it is another media-playing app which might compete for Bluetooth's attention.
-Uninstalling Stitcher Radio leaves the issue behind.
-Clearing the cache/dalvik does not fix the problem.
-Dirty flashing the nightly again does not repair the problem.
Sounds like I would need to do a full wipe again to regain my bluetooth headphone functionality.
Any thoughts on what is happening when I install the second media app? Any suggestions on how to repair the link between the "Music" app and my headphones?
Hi folks,
I've just started using Stratos with stock fw 2.3.0.8 and noticed a strange thing. I start playing music via my BT headphones directly from the watch (i.e. no smartphone used) and everything works fine. Then I launch the RUN option to start which switched to the excercise screen and starts tracking the pace, HR etc. but it STOPS the music. I didn't find a way how to restart or control the music from the RUN screen. Not sure if this is a bug, or I just haven't found the right procedure to do so.
SO - how do you listen to music and have the run tracked at the same time??
Many thanks,
loni
By doing exactly what you did, but you control the music while in the activity with the headphones buttons (it needs to be A2DP compatible, so probably it has more than 1 button for play/pause, next/prev music and volume). Other than this, you can use third party apps to go back to main screen and then go the music widget, but it's not advised and it may cause problems with the activity tracking.
Same problem here. My first training went smooth, i've played music, then start RUN and go - awesome.
2 days later i did exactly same thing - music, run, go - music stopped.
I'm using Huawei AM61 with VOL UP, VOL DOWN, FUNCTION buttons. How i can resume music once activity tracking starts? How to minimize to "desktop" after activity start? BT music was the main reason i've bought this watch - so i can leave my phone at home.

If the music paused then it should come back after you use the headphone's Play button. If it doesn't, probably either the headphones disconnected or media player crashed. Music control went back to Stratos in CN dev builds, so it may come back to all devices soon (Stratos and Pace). In the meantime, you can use this floating bar to control music even when recording an activity:

You can also try this other music player that works as the builtin but offers playlist support:

This used to happen to me. Changing the songs to lower bitrate and putting fewer songs on the watch fixed it. Also sometimes i needed to let it 'rest' after putting new songs on it.
Yeah, i deleted 2 big files (meaning that one mp3 is over 1 hour long), leaving normal ~3-5 minutes mp3's, and it seems to be working fine again. Probably media player was crashing.
I use my Mi A3 with Android Auto in the car, but don't have an Android Auto compatible car radio - so just use the phone screen and bluetooth for streaming audio to my car.
This works great on previous phones, and worked fine on the Mi A3 under a custom rom (Pixel Experience) but on the stock rom it doesn't work correctly.
The Google Assistant navigation guidance and voice responses are WAY too loud - like the volume for the stream is set to 10, compared to like 4 or 5 for everything else like spotify.
My bluetooth volume (on the phone) is set to max, and i set a comfortable listening level on my car radio with spotify playing - but when Google speaks its so loud it's distorted!
Does anyone have any idea why this occurs on the stock rom only, and how it could be fixed? - I've tested with my wifes car and it does the exact same..
Edit - it's worth pointing out I've checked Google assistant launched from the OS (not in Android Auto) and the volume is fine. However as I pointed out earlier - Android Auto volume is fine on custom ROMs.. suggesting this is a stock OS issue.
Nobody else have this issue?
Hi,
Not sure where the issue exactly is, but I bet it must be down to the software itself.
I was using Spotify via bluetooth with my Renault ZOE - R Link 1 with no issues, but suddenly, and I think this was after the update to EMUI 10 (not 100% sure) while playing music over bluetooth to my car the music just pauses after a few seconds, sometimes it is 10 seconds, sometimes it is immediate. The same thing happens with youtube and built in music app, but it does not seem to happen while listening to records over facebook messenger or making calls - while doing so everything works as it should.
I have done the obvious which is resetting bluetooth settings and restarting the bluetooth service, deleting app cache and data, reinstalling spotify etc., etc.
The weirdest thing is, that my mate's iPhone works fine with my car, but also my phone works fine with other bluetooth devices, like JBL speakers or so.
I am absolutely clueless what could have happened there and I am also not that technical with Android, so here I am posting my first issue ever on this forum...
Device: Huawei P20 Pro
Model: CLT-L09
Build: 10.0.0.161
EMUI: 10.0.0
Android version: 10
Hi!
I've Just flashed Omnirom with Mod Support onto my Moto Z and it works perfectly apart from Bluetooth. I had similar Problems under the stock 8.0 Rom, so I guest it has nothing to do directly with Omni.
When I connect my Bluetooth 4.2 Headphones the music plays perfectly as long as the phone is not in my pocket. As soon as it is in my pocket, the music skips and stutters like crazy. When I take the phone out of the pocket, the behaviour stops instantly. I am under the Impression, that I can somehow recreate whats happening, If I hold my finger over the top part of the front...
Any Ideas? I already put location services to only use gps.
Cheers,
