You taking about this one. If so than just open settings click the search magnifine flass and type in "smart" and you'll see it.
Are you on Verizon also. When I told type smart it's not an option. I know Verizon killed it on just about all other LG phones

just tried it on my verizon model and I got the same menu lg3FTW was showing. this is just standard smart lock settings though.
Ya I get the smart Lock stuff but not the smart settings where it will do a certain task when you plug in headphones or connect to a Bluetooth device. I just looked at the attachment and I have that also but there was supposed to be other smart settings on this phone. Got to love Big Red

Just searched and found this on another site. Looks like Verizon did remove it. I had seen these settings on YouTube reviews of the t-mobile version
Are you saying you don't have these settings? I'm on Tmo.
Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
Ya those are the ones. Don't know why they would take those out.
Well that's silly. Does Tasker work without root in this situation?
Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
Haven't tried that. There was a fix for the g4 where you download quickshortcutmaker on the playstore and you could re-enable it that way but that didn't work this time around.
I'm on the Verizon G6 and they did in fact remove Smart Settings. I'm not surprised to see them do this. I am tempted to get upset at this, then I think, how much functionality would having those settings really bring me and how much would I really use them. I know that tasker and other apps such as Macro Droid will replicate these things. I found out how to replicate them on my G4 and I rarely used them nor found them super helpful.
Ya I know it sucks and I probably wouldn't use that much either but I like to have the option.

Here are the features removed from the LG G4 a couple of years ago. It would be useful to know what Verizon disabled in the LG G6 before purchasing carrier version or waiting for unlocked version.
Verizon has a (bad) and long history of modifying phones they sale. Same thing happens to Samsung's devices. My S7 Edge didn't have a few features Samsung had on their international model. Not really surprising to see they screwed up the G6 as well

That's what i meant, Thanks At&t...
I came from a windows phone, and microsoft has that feature enabled for all their phones just by going to windowsphone.com and signing in with your live id. and before that, on windows mobile, i had my phone setup with creeper and it got stolen and i wiped it remotely but before i wiped it, i sent it a couple texts telling the thief where he was and that if he didn't return it i was going to call the police. the next morning the phone was sitting on my desk...
I used that Windows phone feature to locate/spy on my kids iDevices have the similar functionality. Not sure why Google left this one out?
DIVE was left out of the i-717 because AT&T offers their own called Mobile Locate and surprise...they charge for it! It is an add-on to the phone insurance.

Really, no love Cerberus?
You can snap pictures from the website control panel with the phone's front camera and have them emailed to you, or record audio from the mic and send that.
You can make it so any SIM put in the phone that isn't the current SIM will only call a phone number you specify.
You can wipe whatever you want from remotely and track the exact location of your phone at all times.
It is AMAZING!

Cerberus is one of the first things I install on a new phone. If you are rooted you can install it into the rom and it will survive factory reset. It blows away anything else out there right now. You can record audio, video, have it call a number, take a picture, snap a screenshot. Remote lock / wipe. It is just amazing.

There's an app called "Phone Info" that will let you do it but it hasn't been on the play store in some time (you'd have to hunt around to find an APK online).
There's another called "4G Switch" which is $0.99 on the play store which several people have noted works on the S4. Looks like it's essentially the same app as Phone Info, with a few changes.
I haven't used either so can't comment on their functionality but worst case you could drop a buck and if the paid app doesn't work, just refund it.
Think you can enable some scripts by Terminal in certain ROMs like Hyperdrive

No I don't have a Verizon LG. I'm attaching a snapshot from the video linked above (at 4'07"). It shows the Verizon folder from the app drawer, with "Caller Name ID", "Cloud", "Isis Wallet", "My Verizon Mobile", "NFL Mobile", "Setup Wizard", "Slacker", "VZ Protect", "Voice Mail", "VZ Navigator". Don't know if this is the real final version but I'd think it should be close.

I remember when my Incredible couldn't hide or uninstall all that bloat (without rooting). I hope they don't yank out the wireless charging like they did with the Note 2... As far as I know, they aren't pushing the droid brand as hard as they were a couple years ago so I have high hopes of an untouched version.

I haven't seen any reliable websites join in and claim this. But even if those rumors are true, switching the back will fix it. With the Verizon Note 2, the only way to get wireless charging was to solder the parts to your phone - not just simply put a tmobile back on it.

Not sure where the article is now. But LG stated that Korea and US varients would not come with Qi charging. Its still built into the phone. Just the korea and US phones will not include the back with charging built in like the international version.

Does the LG G3 have a "smart stay" screen off option like Samsung has? If not, that may take awhile to get used to. I used my wifes s4 to read an article and she didn't have it turned on and I was going nuts with it turning off all of the time so I had to change it. Is there an app that does it that I could download if the G3 doesn't have something like that?
Yes it does, it's called smart screen.
Never really used it before, always seemed silly to me. May have to try it out!
That is great news. It's one of those features after having it, I wouldn't buy anything without it.

Hi all, I'm sure not everyone uses the IR blaster and the quick remote app but here's to those who use it daily.
The LG quick remote app, isn't really that quick - no widget, or quick access from your homescreen, afaik. Other apps I use to find handy was the anymote but somehow, it shows that the LG v20 is unable to learn new codes, which is totally false since the LG app is able to do that.
Does anyone have a better recommendation of the app they use? Feel free to chip in please!

Galaxy remote looks pretty sleek! Fingers crossed it learns code on the v20 too!
I use anymote from the play store. Out of all I've tried, it's the best one so far
I'm definitely one of those who use the IR Blaster daily and it was a major factor in getting the v20, but unfortunately from what I've read LG doesn't follow standard IR protocols so most universal apps claim to not support LG devices. I used to use Smart Remote (which eventually turned into Anymote) and none of my devices work with it so can't use it, and I haven't tried peel yet but I have tried a lot of other different IR apps and the couple that actually worked seemed to be spotty at best. I was really disappointed that I can't use Anymote because I loved the way I had it setup and I've been forced to use quick remote which like the OP said basically sucks, so I'm really hoping someone figures something out or is able to find a universal app that works the way it should with this phone.

Just from using for 2 days I can already completely agree with you on that! What really blew me away was the ability to create a custom button that you can manually add the hex or decimal ir code to! I've had this hdmi switch that I got a long time ago (and of course it was missing the remote) that I had all but given up on because I could never find it listed as a device on any of the apps I've tried, and when I figured out you could manually enter ir hex codes with Galaxy I looked it up online and found them.. and then Bob's your uncle I can control it with my phone now! I'm sure there are probably other apps that also let you manually add the ir codes, but that along with all of the customization options and being able to add widgets makes Galaxy the best one imo too!

Have you tried using the code scan feature that Galaxy has to see if it finds it? I'm kind of in the same boat with an oscillating floor fan that I have in my room, and after 2 days of searching online I finally emailed the Galaxy devs last night to see if they could send me the code. I was surprised because they actually responded pretty quickly and they suggested I try the scan option and see if it finds it (I knew it was there but I completely forgot to try it so as soon as I get home from work I'm going to give it a shot), and they said if that doesn't work then they should be able to find the code I need and send it to me. So I have to say Galaxy Universal was worth every penny and I can't say enough good things about it!
As far as ripping codes off of other apps that would be awesome and yeah I wouldn't even know where to begin. One thing I've been wondering ever since I found out quick remote can record IR codes (meaning that our IR blasters can also receive), is if it would be possible for someone to create an app that could show the IR hex codes of whatever remotes you point at it because that would be forkin awesome. I have no idea what the limitations are though I just figured if quick remote can duplicate an IR code from another remote, you'd think it would at least be possible to create an app that can display the code info instead of just duplicating it. Anyway hope you get it figured out and if I'm able to get mine working I'll post the results.
