Hello world!
So, before having the Galaxy S 2, I had a Galaxy 3 i5801, and one of the innovative features that have appeared (IMO) was the "Voodoo Sound".
The developer "marcellusbe" (i think) made the port of "Voodoo Sound" for G3, which is now used in almost all custom kernels for this device.
With this, I'd like to know when this fantastic function will be developed for our Galaxy S II
Galaxy S2 lacks hardware specs for Voodoo sound.its not possible.
Regards,
Karan.

Are you sure?
So, the Galaxy S 2 (that is a highEnd quality phone) has worst sound hardware than the G3?

Cant compare it to the G3 but yes...the Yamaha chip doesnt output the sound quality as the original Galaxy S.
It lacks bass and gets distorted.
I as a SGS2 user, am satisfied using the in-ear earphones from Sony and Sennheiser CX180.
But when i use my Sony MDR V700 DJ headphones, there is absolutely no bass and the volume too is very very low.
i too am very much disappointed with the sound quality of the GS2.
Regards.

I too hope voodoo sound will find its way on the SGS2! In the meantime (as with the SGS1) I developed AudioBoost for this device to have a more powerful output (I use it mostly attached to my car hifi)...and I think it works great coupled with PowerAmp player (the stock Samsung's one uses some ****ty equalizer which provides lots of distortions)!
So in my opinion the chip is not that bad (of course the other one was better, but less powerful), it just needs good equalization!

AudioBoost is available for galaxy S 2?
I want voodoo sound only to attached to my car hifi too.
On my old G3 I used the "headphone amplifier" option to increase dB without distortion to have more volume.
i can confirm that audioboost works really well with poweramp...even with stock headphones the sound is great using the above combination.

Care to explain? Voodoo Control "THIS ITEM IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR DEVICE"
If you want to improve your sound output, you can try dsp manager! There is thread for dsp on sgs2!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Any tips on improving sound recording as well?
Tried recording at a few concerts and it was utter crap (just like the sgs originally was before the voodoo improvements). Massive distortion and noise and crackling.
Such a shame from such a powerful device...

As someone explained few posts before, the SGS 2 Hardware does not support voodoo sound!
I heard rumors that supercurio is working on Voodoo sound for SGS2? Found nothing at github, but is it true?

Anyone know of a good set of earphones that will also control the media player? I want to be able to click a button on the mike to pause the music and pick up a call. Then, when the call is over, have the music resume again. I had this on my blackberry, but haven't found it on android yet.

That's nice! but i don't really favour the thing you put in your ear...
I think only SE can provide you with the features for our phones as i plugged in Apple earphones with the volume control once and it kept stopping the song.

Just bought one, here it costs 62$, but just found one crappy disclaimer from SE site "The products X10, X10 mini, X10 mini pro, X8 will operate call handling (take/reject calls) music handling (play/pause). Please note; volume and LiveKey™ not supported for those products."
Could use a dev opinion, if it isn't the same **** as X10 doesn't support dual touch Because I'm pretty sure that 3.5mm ports aren't specially modified to support simple buttons?
I use MW 600,hi-fi headset. It is bluetooth. Comes in reasonable price. My Friends using nokia, samsung, etc.... Ordered MW600 after seeing its performance!

do Beats Audio In ear tour work on galaxy ace??i mean do they work on any devices or needs supported devices like Sensation XE??
thx for your help +1
its an headphone why would it not work??
Are you looking to me?? i have an chinese ARMY !! (-(-(-.-)-)-)
its not just the headphone, its proprietary thingy htc put into the device itself.
personally i think its just marketing trick, maybe just some equalizer implementation, renamed as that "beats audio".
u can just install any equalizer from market and get similar effect, and maybe even better than beats audio.
take a look into our own chinese zckpa stock rom, it had louder audio volume compared to any other rom exist for us until now. its something chinese dev put into it to make it sound louder and better. its proof of similar thing can be achieve just in software (read:rom) level.

Hi! This is my first post.
I bought a handset on ebay. It's designed for the iphone (see pic), so I assumed that, being CTIA standard, it would work with my Xperia S. Wrong! The microphone doesn't work. I tried it on my sons iphone, and it works perfectly. It doesn't work on my wife's Lumia 800 for the same microphone reason.
So, my question is this; Does anyone have any suggestions as to impedance matching etc., of the iphone by comparison to other smartphones? I made a cable to convert the connectors - T-T, R1-R1, R2-S, S-R2, but that doesn't work at all. It does work perfectly on my Nokia E72, however!
Any advice gratefully received!!
Anyone?

After double checking with sony the reason for this is that Xperia S supplies 2V purely from an energy consumption perspective. The microphone in the bundled Sony Mobile headset is Electret microphones that only require a 2V feed. Other suppliers (for example, iPhone headsets) use MEMS microphones that require a minimum of 2,7V.
In order to be fully compatible with all 3rd party headsets, Sony phones need to supply a minimum of 2,7V which it doesn't.
Don't we have any mods or solutions, do we?

Hello guys ,
I noticed some thing about my sony xperia Z2 is that the headphones sound in it is very low , if I use AUX on my car using this phone , sound comes really low compared to my old HTC phone (I know HTC has beats support which increases overall volume) but still , LG G3 for example is higher , Iphone is higher and other phones support higher volume sound .
What I also noticed is that even on my old HTC , when I install custom roms that are not Sense roms the sound is lower , a lot lower .
So I was wondering maybe there is a mod or tweak for my device that makes sound a lot higher when using AUX ?
Yeah, same prob here. Anyone?
having the same problem, tried using the z2 for music at work through aux lead into a makita stereo. Even with the stereo & phone turn't up at its loudest, My old iphone will be as loud if not louder at half the volume. have resorted to using my iphone 3gs for listening to podcasts. I hate iphone been with andriod since.. The phone is brilliant but as a personal music player aux or headphone it total sucks..

I doubt you would be able to do anything without root as you need to modify some system files. Maybe theres app that can increase the volume but I don't know.
