cant login from my home network - PLEASE HELP - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Weirdest problem ever
If i try to login using my home network ( cable + wifi router) the same second i enter login info i get http error 500 > xda cant handle the request. When not logged in i can normaly browse forums but as soon as i try to login i get this and when refreshing, im not logged in
Both chrome and ff, and my mobile browser when phone is connected via wifi
The weird part is that, no matter what info i enter into user/pass fields the result is the same.
I just found out a big discovery for a phone, that many people would appreciate and i cant write about it.
Oh and yes - tried to restart my pc, my router, modem, etc. A friend of mine told me that MTU size is the problem but i really dont know a single thing about that. Its set to 1500 default and i can only guess what the correct mtu should be
Please help, thanks in advance

[Q] Wifi with login redirect

I bought my gtab about a week ago and have it running nicely with Vegan. I had some trouble with the market but thanks to this forum got it working
Here is my last real problem. I work at a hotel. We have wifi for our guests which redirects you to a login page when you open your browser. It does not require a password you just have to click a button to accept the terms. Until you do this you have no internet connection. I can connect and even pick up an IP address but it will not go to the authentication page thus no internet. I have tried manually entering the URL for the login page and have also tried the IP address for the login page. I have tried setting a static IP with he correct gateway and DNS addresses. I have even tried the wifi web login app. Nothing works.
Any ideas how I can get this working?

I assume you've tried installing different browsers?

I have tried the stock browser, Dolphin HD, Firefox, and Fennec. I am going to try Opera today. Has anyone had luck with any particular browser?
Hi,
I think some systems like hotel-provided WIFI work by setting a proxy into the browser. If that is the case with your situation, it may require a different kernel, plus an app. Search this forum for "proxy", e.g.:

Okay dumb question of the day. How would I determine if this wifi connection uses a proxy or not?
When I connect from my computer and run a tracert the first hop is the gateway and the second hop is always 192.168.50.1. Would that be the proxy?
I am Currently connected to this wifi with my laptop and I am not behind a proxy. I tried installing the Kernel referenced in the link you provided and also installed transproxy according to the thread still no go.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can get this thing to connect. My wifi indicator is on shows I am connected but no internet.
I've had my gtab connected on hotel wifi, and similarly on airport wifi. If I recall, the redirected confirm page opened in a second tab in the background but was not put in focus. I had to manually switch to citing the TnT browser. If that's not it also look for a floating frame within the same window. I've seen this show up way off to the side, really had to scroll around to find it.
Just checked this no go. I am getting the unable to connect page on every browser I try. I did not see any other tabs popping up either.
Okay so I sent an email to the tech support for our wifi network. They responded and said Adnroid devices have trouble with DHCP because of their network and that it should work if I set a static ip. Now the problem is how do I set a static IP in Vegan. I have tried the app Static IP and it doesnt' seem to wan to work.
Nevermind just figured it out.
Okay for those that are interested or may search and find this thread later. I never would have guessed that would fix it but using a static IP address solved the problem. Thanks to those who tried to help

WiFi issue - it isn't working

Hi!
I have problem with my P500.
I connected to my wifi router without any problem, but internet doesn't work for me.
Facebook aplication works fine - i can share posts and talk with friends, but when i want login to Android Market or enter to webpage - is't not working.
WTF?
Wake up.
~~
The issue is still disturbing me...
I can open 1, 2 or 3 pages, but no more. It's still loading, and loading... In this time youtube/android market/messenger works fine...
I REALLY NEED HELP.
what rom and kernel? is this an issue with your rom? maybe u need to configure something under wireless&networks (I've seen people having issues like this because of there access point name)
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA Premium App
Rom: default, 2.2.1. kernel 2.6.32.9
I set manually IP etc. but no effect.
Try changing the channel on the router
Yay, i don't know pass and username to my Edimax EW7206APg. Now it's set on 11.
Wifi on PC and notebook works fine.
OMG, this is the basic thing. You should know this...

wow it didn't work because you didn't put your password in, ask your network administrator (or am guessing one of your parents) for it. also sometimes they are left on the router themselves I know Virgin UK leaves the password for there routers on the router itself
its usally username - admin, password - admin
or username - admin, password - password
try these....
im having troouble with dolphin hd and it always says unable to load page...but dolphin mini works fine....

[Q] Need help getting past web login

Okay. So it seems like this has been asked before but nobody was sure of how to do it.
At work I can connect to a open wireless network, however there is a web login required to get connected to wifi. I have a company login/password for this but was wondering how to get past the login webpage. I've tried all the setup and options in settings > wireless. I am forced to go to a Cisco login screen and enter my username/password every time. This is a problem because every once and a while I go into a area where the building has no wifi signal and am forced to enter my credentials over and over.
A app that manages networks, or anything would be better than entering my login/password about 10 times a day. Thanks in advance wise XDA masses!

[Q] Why cant I see WI-FI passwords after i have entered them?

Is there a way to see WI-FI passwords after they are entered i went into manage networks and when i edit one i cannot see the password. So now i can't share with friends by simply looking at my phone

no wifi at work

hey people,
here is the issue. i am able to connect to my wifi at home no issue. when i try to connect at work it says connected but i have no access to the internet. the bars are grey with the up and down arrow going crazy but the bars never turn blur. sound like its not authenticating. i noticed when i connect its always trying to connect to the same DHCP IP. i asked the network guys to release the address manually but it does not seem to have helped. any ideas. i do not know much about DHCP so i could be blowing sunshine up your a$$. ; )
i own the i757m so there is only 1 radio to choose from.
talk to your network administrator and ask them to verify if the router is actually seeing your phone.
it maybe trying to connevt but the router is not acknowledging the phone is sending a valid request.

I've had this in situations where free wifi is given out. My phone connects to the router but not the Web until I've registered with the service provider. It's not your phone it must be an error in your log on details, password etc

Maybe their DHCP server is acting up. Try setting your IP address manually (assuming you know the rest of the networking configuration as well).

i also tried that. should have mentioned these things, sorry. its really irritating me. i see its connected and it says its connected. it seems like it connects to the router but the DHCP server will not authenticate if thats makes any sense.
