Galaxy S7 and Nokia DT 910 - Samsung Galaxy S7 Accessories

Today I tried to use my old Nokia DT 910 wireless charger stand with Samsung Galaxy S7.
It was not charging. I tried with my Galaxy S5 which has wireless charging receiver.
S5 charged fine without issues.
After some googling and trial and error, I found, S7 need to be placed differently on Nokia DT 910.
1. First, it need to be placed in landscape position.
2. S7 need to be raised by 1.5/2.5 cm from the base. Centering it on DT 910.
At that position, it started charging fine.

My old Nokia wireless chargers are working with my GS7 fine.
Vertical or horizontal or for the matter of fact at any angle as long as the center of the back of the GS7 is in the center of the charger, and my phone is sitting on the charger and I do not have a cover so there is no Gap.

Do you have the Nokia plate DT 900 or stand DT 910 or some other model?

I have the same problem with my LG G6. I forgot I had the charger, so I pulled out my DT 910 and had to put my wallet down and then place the phone in a horizontal position to get it to charge.

Wireless Charger Info.

Hey Gang,
I just wanted to post a little FYI notice about wireless chargers.
I've seen people being sold 'deals' which include the LG Wireless Charger WORTH £60 and some thinking that this is a good deal.
The G3 is compatible with ANY QI compliant wireless charger and these start from £10. The LG charger is deffo NOT worth £60.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_pg...words=wireless+charger&ie=UTF8&qid=1403693818
Really worth picking up a couple of these to dot around the house and office.
Is wireless charging really worth it? The charger itself still has to be plugged in. From your experience is it really all that more convenient?
Its a bit more convenient because you have to deal with short and tangldd cords (if u have a lot plugged into a power strip persay)
Doesn't really matter. If ppl want to use em, great. If they don't, IDC. Lol.

Thank you for this info.
But sadly I'll need to get a new LG G3 backplate in order for it to work. :/
I've just tried to use the wireless charger that I bought from the play store for my nexus 5 and that doesn't work at all, and also the magnet on the charger seems to activate the circle cover feature.
I bought the following one:
http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/221422967001?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649
And it does not work. It detects the device being placed over it (LED turns on) but the G3 ignores it. Disappointed!
I got a Nokia DT-910 from Amazon £35 and works a treat with my G3.
Tried my phone on a friends £15 QI pad and it did charge slowly and the phone got very hot!

I have the circular one from your Amazon link and it doesn't work with the G3, it complains about alignment, and stops charging when the screen is off. It worked fine with my old Note 3.
I have another couple of Qi pads in the office, i'll try them when I get a chance.

Hmm, I looked up the one I bought, the description is very similar, but it fails to work properly. Must have different electronics in it or something. I'll be interested to see what that second one is like, looks just the right angle for me.
I tried another one in my office, and that seems to work. Strangely, all that happened was the red charging light came on, as the other one turned the screen on and beeped every few seconds with a little animation saying it was wirelessly charging. Even if it does charge, its way to annoying.
Think we should use this thread to list working and problematic chargers? There's another thread with people having the same issue I found. I hope bad ones are few and far between, but might be useful to have a list.

If your working at a desk, they come in really handy. For one, it is a nice dedicated place to put your phone. If you pick up your phone lots of times a day and walk around with it, not having a cable is a godsend. The added charging function is just a great extra.
While it is significantly slower than a direct cable, if you have several ( I have 4: office desk, car, bedside table, media room) you find the cable becomes almost redundant.
One thing to note is that they can't keep up with heavy phone useage. When I'm in the car for instance, usually I have tethering, 4g and Bluetooth on, as well as navigation and streaming radio. I need a cable for that.
Yes, it is true Qi Charging is very slow compared to wall charger.
Has anyone seems any Qi charger going over 1A?
Bought a Chotech t511 qi charger , from Amazon, first of all tried it powering from the pc usb port.....no go ..same as some people have put here...would see the g3 and vice versa , start charging then drop out repeatedly ....then i tried it using the mains plug ..no problems works well...doesn't seem to slow at charging either.....

Nope, the WPC specification (current version 1.1.2) for QI low power is 5watts
No 1A? Thats a shame. It would take at least 5hours to charge G3 then.
My nexus runs hot on qi charge, wonder if it is a heat related issue they dont bump the amp higher?

I got the second one today, a few things to note:
It's seems to have issues charging from a PC / Laptop USB, probably something to do with the voltage. You need to have it landscape or it complains about it not being center of the hotspot. Thirdly I can't keep my spigen ultra hybrid case on, but I kind of expected that. You also don't get a mains plug which I found very annoying as this will only work from the mains.
The problem in most cases is not the charger itself, is the current of the plug o USB port you use to power the charger.
You need a 1.5-2A plug or 3.0 USB to make most of them work properly.

[Q] Does my G3's back case have Qi wireless charging receiver already?

Hi guys. I bought my G3 few months ago. Its not a new one, I bought it as second hand but condition is 99,99%.
As the information I got from the seller its D855 Vodafone - International.
So my question is as those images i shot on my back case is this true that my phone can use with a Qi charging pad right away now or not?
Because after searching through the net, I didn't find any information about Qi charging relate to G3 Vodafone.
The receiver on my back case has 4 pins (as I know 2 is for NFC, and the other 2 will be for Qi charging).
The problem is I went to other shop (not really a shop, this guy just shipped items from China), he was selling some Qi charging pad. I put on 1 pad there but nothing happen, try many angles but still the same.
So whats the problem, my phone or his pad?
And here my back case. Thanks for your feed back and sorry for my bad English:
Yes, it should work.
If it doesn't work with the Chinese charger it's because the charger...

Make sure the golden square hits the ones on the back of the phone
Is there anyway i can get qi wireless charging on my f400s by buying a back cover which supports qi?
Qi works out of the box
Yes your G3 should be Qi compatible out of the box...I have a Panasonic, and Nokia Qi Charger, and they start working about 2 seconds after I place them on the charge pad.
Just FYI, the G4 on the other hand isn't Qi Compatible out of the Box...Go figure, I guess Quick Charge 2.0 is the better standard...=(

Wait a second - S3 has wireless charging?

I just noticed the description on the S3 i9300 device page says it has wireless charging - does it secretly pack this feature?
Nope. It doesn't have this feature only if you add it yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyC37pHCVgE
I thought so! Maybe the description should be updated.

You need to purchase a Qi wireless charging receiver which needs to be placed at the back of the battery. It will be thin enough to fit between your battery and back cover.
Now if you placed the phone on a wireless charging pad the phone starts charging wirelessly.
I have used this on my phone.

Are all Qi charging stickers made the same?

As we all know, the LG V10 is an amazing device. One that does not have wireless charging out of the box. I have seen cars starting to integrate wireless charging into their cabins so I'm baffled why a lot of devices are not Qi charging capable as a standard. That's neither here nor there.
I had a G3 that I had gotten a wireless charging back for and I loved it. I also ordered one from Amazon for my V10 but it didn't clip on correctly so I sent it back. I then found the sticker on Wish (www.wish.com) for $4 including the $1 shipping. I thought this was a great deal. I removed the original NFC sticker and affixed the Qi/NFC sticker promptly on its arrival. The problem is that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it will be on the base overnight and will charge from 15% to 30%. Sometimes it refuses to connect. I even tried the Samsung Quick Qi charger at the Verizon store with no success. The other night I had placed it on the base and it connected and shortly after it started playing music from the the LG music app.
My question is are all the stickers basically the same or does the name and price suggest the quality? What about charging bases? I'm hesitant to say that it is the base. I am also very picky as to which style I'd like vs cost. I will include the Amazon listing of the one I use.

Dont do it, I've tried several sticker/Qi combos and it just drains the battery. Really fast.
I've already done it. LoL! It works sometimes. That's the problem. When it connects, it's great.

I've never found wireless charging to be stellar. In fact, more often than not the time required to recharge isn't worth it. I just stick with a rapid charger. :/ I would love to see some reliable rapid wireless charging some day.
I know people at a Verizon store and they gave me another stock battery cover. I am no longer using the wireless charging. It's convenient for night time. While I'm asleep. No big. I can live without it.
