SOLUTION - Proximity Sensor Fix for Z Ultra - Give a try - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

This is an fix I've find for my Z Ultra, maybe It works for
your's too.
When I lift up a little bit the USB-Port, the Prox-sensor
worked again.
You can slightly push with your fingertip or with an USB cable plugged in.
When this makes the sensor working, put a little thin piece of plastic direct right under the USB Port.
Put It between the USB Port and the bezel, so that the USB connector stays that little up.
You can give feedback if it works or not.

Hey. You're a god damn artist!
I tried your idea earlier today before I put my phone together and I didn't really put any effort to it.
But I made a phone call and the sensor works just fine!

The last cm nightly build for togari: https://archive.org/download/cmarchive_nighlies before they shut down cyanogenmod.
I use SensorDisabler: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.mrchandler.disableprox to fake a maximum distance.
I reset the value to default in the app and made a call to see what would happen. Before the screen just went dark as soon as I pressed the dial button. But now the screen stays on and shuts off if I hover my finger over the sensor and turns back on when I remove the finger.
I like to point out that my phone behaved the same way regardless of which rom I flashed. Its was not an issue caused by cyanogenmod.

Wow thank you for sharing your solution. I've been trying to fix my proximity sensor but found no good solution until I found your thread. Thank You again!

Such shi..t quality part I got when I ordered mine a few months ago.
The glass cracked right when I installed it the last time I wrote in this thread because I tried to adjust it just a little bit after mounting it.

Need help disassembling wiza100 models

I have a dopod 838, it's a wiza100 model.
I tried disassembling it using the wiza200 service manual as a reference.
I'm stuck at how to open its mainboard.
The mainboard is stuck by the volume button.

Well, some help will be appreciated
PS. My Touchscreen is acting up lately, sometimes when you move the screen (sliding) the screen flicker and some of the colour of red dissappeared, sometime the screen goes totally white. I suspect some cable is loose. Which one is it?? Once again, some help will be appreciated
Thank you. ^_
You need to remove the phillips screw that's holding the main board then the flex cable.
After that you need to lift the main board on the left side and slide it out.
hey, while thats open. tell me if it seems complicataed to fix that usb port

fix the usb port how?? as far as resoldering it back on if its come off entirely. it can be hard for beginners, but if you can swap smd leds on phones and stuff, its a breeze. thats how i got my wizard, saw it on ebay for $35 buy it now with a broken usb port, and a little cosmetic wear. so i picked it up, and fixed it.

Can't offer any help but my T-Mobile MDA (Wiza 200) is also having screen problems.
I've disassembled & tried to figure out which connector is loose or any other hardware problems.
After making sure all the connections are tightly fitted & connecting the whole unit back, the screen still remains greyish-white. The nearest I've come to temporarily restore the screen function is that when sliding out the k/b about 2/3 way, the screen comes on. Beyond that, it just fades out like the device has undergone a hard reset.
I'm still not sure if it is the Flex-board or the LCD assembly causing the problem.
Let me know what you find out.
i changed my housing case. now all i get is bright white screen.

Check your LCD to flexboard connection....make sure its snug and secure
Check this out!!!
Check my Tutorials to disassembly the wizards... qtek 9110 and tmo vario models.... (not 8125)
in my Signature... PIMP My Wizard link....
its easiest way to dissassembly the main board cause it dont has screws just open your keyboard (slide it) and you will be able to pop up the main board...

use a torch.
mod your phone so that it will fit an led> solder the led connections to the power source of the g1> rewrite camera code to whenevr u push the camera button the light will come on.
IDK if this is possible but i am sure it is

Interestingly enough, I looked into that. The "rear flash pack" the guy is talking about doesnt exist. The static image at the beginning of the phone with the back off is PHOTOSHOPPED to show an LCD on there. Yay, he touched an app on the screen that "turned on the lcd"! I could disassemble an lcd flashlight and tape the contact point, battery and lcd to the back of my phone and duplicate this video. I could even put an icon on my desktop to press too, just to make it look nifty! Notice how nowhere in the video does he show the back of the phone ON video in good light.
Oh, and very interesting that people have been asking the guy for the link for his "rear flash pack" for almost a year and hes given 0 responses.
Theres no proof of concept there. You know how ridiculous a mod like that would be? Not only would you have to have the knowledge of the circuitboards to solder the lcd leads on, but you would also have to know android well enough to know how to activate those specific contact points. Hell, we cant even figure out how to crack the rogers coding yet, what makes you think that someone out there figured all this out?
EDIT: Heres proof:
This is the "picture" from said video.
Increase the image to biggest size and notice the following:
-The LCD holes arent round.
-The LCD holes are PIXELATED
-The LCD holes are drilled right through a flimsy metal clip under the battery door. Look at it on YOUR phone and tell me how thats possible without the clip breaking into pieces and falling off.
-the rim of the LCD holes has obviously had the burn tool in photoshop applied to it (notice how its darker around the edges than any other part of the phone.
Oh, and the coup de grace: THE PICTURE IS AN UNBOXING PHOTO FROM THE PHONE'S RELEASE LAST SEPTEMBER. You can see the G1 box and all of the box contents on the floor right under the phone!
Well.. that brings us back to square one, ill bust out my nikon as soon as I get my phone up and running again, ran into some minor (i mean major) technical difficulties.

broken digitizer - got stuck during the exchange process

hey there
my digitizer got broken, but not the LCD
so i bought a new digitizer and i'm trying to switch it.
all good and well during the taking apart process but when i tried to reconnect the new digitizer, there's a part when you need to insert the chip onto the back of screen so you can attach it to the motherboard.
the problem is that i didn't manage to put the chip into the cellphone and through the screen
there are pictures here attached explainning better what I've been trying to do.

I'm not sure if there is a trick to this, but you need to make a fold at the thin strip, and connect the back of the connector to the top of the "ATMEL" chip (the chip on the other side of the connector strip. Then you insert it slowly and it should work properly. Thats how I replaced my digitizer.
Let me know if it helps, I would try posting pics/videos if it becomes totally not understandable to you.
Good luck!
this ****ed up digitizer
i managed to insert the 2 tiny parts into the back , but they wont connect. so i took them out again.
then i took in my hand and put it gently on the connector and whoops it ****ing ripped off.
pff this ribbon cables so poor material
I used a pair of tweezers to pull it through thhe hole. Worked after a few careful tugs
Sent from my MB860 using xda app-developers app
I got this trouble, also, and broke a digitizer.. xD
what you need to do is dettach the lcd panel from the phone, that way the hole gets bigger, so you need to dettach it, and attach to the digitizer/frame. accomodate the flex and all will fit well (Hope you can understand my por english )
ive noticed some weak responsiveness from mine after installing it. has anyone else had this issue? laggy button response and some times phantom touch issues
So what are you saying? That I should buy a new digitizer? I really don't wanna break a third 1 ... Could some1 upload a video or something explaining this part and then reattaching it? Thanks

Where did you buy it? I bought mine at eBay...
Anyway thank s for the guide but this is the easy part. The hard part is inserting the digitizer and reconnecting it all back
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
I got mine on ebay and a decent pair of tweezers can take care of pulling the cable through the slot.
Sent from my MB860 using xda app-developers app
Aactually, it is the easiest part... You need to remove the lcd, assemble with tje digitizer/glass and the pair will fit into atrix without issues. When you remove the lcd, the hole for the flex gets bigger and it will slide thru very easily
Sent from my MB860 using xda app-developers app
The digitizer connects to the motherboard. But the lcd is behind the digitizer. So what help it will do if I remove the LCD? Because I've tried it with no luck...

When you remove the lcd the hole you insert digitizer's flex gets bigger. paste the lcd with the digitizer, both will fit nicely

Switch to front camera gives me a camera FC

Here's the story, bought an used S2, both back camera and front camera were working, but the back camera lens was a bit bad (the one on the case, it had scratches everywhere) so I replaced the back part of the case. My front camera had a little, small piece of dust inside it, so I disconnected the ribbon cable and lifted it up, my surprise was that when I kinda lifted it a bit up..
THESE TWO THINGS WERE SEPARATED.

The black thing (which I think it's called the lens) stayed on the hole.
In this hole:
it was not like the picture above, the black thing stayed down there and just the cable with some mirror-ish thing came out..
and the little piece of ribbon cable came apart without it. I gave it no importance and lifted the black thing by myself, cleaned both and when I did the reassembly and turned the phone on, the front facing camera gives me a force close as soon as I switch to it.
Any thoughts? did I damage the front camera by touching accidentally that part that looks like a mirror between the black thing and the ribbon piece? help! Back camera worked okay after some pushes, it wasn't working either but now it is..
Bump for justice.. I miss my front facing camera ;_;
Looks like my camera will remain dead.. seriously no one knows about hardware here?
I think you have accidentally removed the connection of front cam install antutu and check if it detects your front cam in specs
Just open it once more and see if its connected properly, check for any damage as well...see maybe there's a small "metal" parts that need to be matched together ("on top" and "bottom")
if everything looks fine, you will need to replace that cam

Yeah everything is as it should be, ribbon cables are connected properly.. I know it kinda looks like it's a hardware issue, it's so weird.. I would take some pics of how it looks now but I'm so afraid of damaging the rear camera(again) lol.. won't even touch the inner part..
Try to start it without SD card in the phone if that didn't help, fix permissions...
(I think you have already tried to force close the camera app and clear data?)
If this issue persists in different roms with different kernel's(considering you already tried different troubleshooting methods like a different cam app) it will probably be a hardware issue,

Good trying out a different ROM with a different kernel will verify whether it was a camera driver issue, and also might bypass any other kind of application conflicts.

Small waterproofing ruber piece fron the USB Port

Hello, there is a small rubber part that fallen from my ZU's USB port. I believe it is a waterproofing part.
Has it happened to anyone else? How can I put it back? I've tried to insert in back but its doesn't stays in place no matter how I put it, was it originally glued?

Just pop it right in. There's a fishhook kinda shape on the end of the "plastic thread" that's holding the flap, so just rip it off and insert a new one. It can be a little hard to push the new one in, but it's very easy and straight forward. You can try it yourself right now by pulling the USB flap off and inserting it again.
EDIT: Wait a minute. Fonjoy still have flaps left. 9 of them actually, and you can order it from their eBay page:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-S...ver-1272-47-/351296156319?hash=item51cae1f29f
I purchased my USB flap from them and it's legit stuff. It took about 7 days until it arrived, so overall a good experience, but seeing you're located in France, it'll probably be a little quicker. They're based in the UK.
I've glued mine back, but won't guarantee how efficient it is in terms of waterproof. Also it was rather tricky due to small size and being careful of not over doing the glue. I would suggest you to just buy a new flap.

Yeah, I wouldn't risk it for only £10 or so, and I wouldn't trust the glue to seal it properly.

Several times? What the... lol. Do you bathe with your phone or something, because the only reason why this would happen is that the glue on the rubber gasket wears off by moist/water.
Anyhow, it's still only £10, so I'm not sure I would even bother contacting Sony, but that's up to the OP to decide. Our work is done here
