I need some serious help... I think I bricked my Nextbook Premium 7. I compiled a custom ROM and forgot to included a launcher. Didn't realize it until after I flashed it. My tablet is stuck in a bootloop and only way to shut it down is with the reset [pin hole] button. Power button does nothing except start it up. I have already tried to put the stock update.img on an external SD hoping it would boot from there, but it did not. I am not sure what to do next, I have looked all over google and xda. Please help!
Thank you in advance!
Do you have a custom recovery installed? Did you try installing it threw fastboot files and cmd prompt on computer?
Please hit the thank you button if i helped!

There ins't a custom recovery installed, this device flashes by detecting an update.img and askes to install it. It doesn't get past what would be considered the kernel screen. This tablet doesn't work like a standard android phone. There are no hard buttons except the power button, so attempting to get into any recovery is not possible. It also doen't boot enough to add any files to it.
Sounds like your screwed. Sorry.....
Please hit the thank you button if i helped!

Ok, just bricked my Nextbook 7
Here is how I flashed a firmware without access to recovery:
If you are in a bootloop, Connect USB and Power.
Press and hold pin on back until you hear windows try to detect a device but the screen is off.
Download this: http://arctablet.com/assets/tools/Fi..._Tool_v1.4.zip
Install the driver from the drivers folder.
3. Installing the drivers on the computer
Following the tablet entering in recovery mode, the computer should now show it has found a new USB device and prompt for a device driver. Select the appropriate driver in the driver directory from the Rockchip Flash Tool 1.4 package.
It will then install the driver for RK29 Device
4. Sending the firmware to the tablet
The flashing tool should display a green square around the number 1 in the lower left area of the Windows application.
Select the firmware file to flash using the button in the top right area of the application. Select the update.img file from here:
http://www.multiupload.com/NQHSNZJSO2
Then push the Upgrade button to transfer the selected firmware to the tablet.
The firmware will be copied to the tablet, a progression counter will go from 0% to 100% on this step, followed by a verification.
You are done, let the tablet reboot and update itself. It should take a few minutes for the flash process to finish.
This procedure has been successfully tested on Windows XP 32 bits for flashing a bricked NextBook 7 Premium YF1011 (but should work on others)
Help !!
Please help, got the tablet yesterday NEXT7P12 YF091211085 by flashing the official site was a brick, the tablet will not turn on, the computer does not see it.
screen moved after installing rom
Hi, i don't know if I'm on the right place but if anyone can help me, please I haw the Nextbook 7 premium and have instaled costum rom on it, but after rebooting my screen position has moved from right to left 2 cm and from up to down 1 cm , so my screen is moved I don't know why I have try to install 3 other rom and factory firmware but the screen is still moved or should I say cut. Any ideas? please I have try to google it but no luck...
I no longer have my np7 but I did try just about every ROM for it. Never have I had or seen an issue like this, and in truth I can't think of what the issue may be.
There are different np7 variants and some don't play nice with custom ROMs (built sept 2012 and older lose WiFi) so you might have a model that can only use one software due to hardware/firmware change.
There never was much development for the np7 here, I think finlessbob and others are still working on it at freaktab.com maybe see if they can help

I've heard this works for other people. With my phone it doesn't. When I plug it in, it doesn't show an unknown device. I've already downloaded and installed MT65xx Preloader and tried out a VCom, but still nothing. I've been going at it for a week, so if anyone's got an answer, advice would be great. Thanks!

Good luck!
so my stock dell venue 8 3840 would just load into a black screen, so I decided to follow the instructions aOSS_A195.pdf (can't submit links) to attempt to unbrick it
Starting from step A. Flash A195 image to the tablet I was doing quite well A.12 Double click file “P802_flash_device_wifi_only.bat” or “P802_flash_device_lte.bat” in SW image folder. The following CMD window will show up, and begin to flash OS system image. At this step the Cmd couldn't find the tablet so after several attempts to fix it and failed attempts at googling the problem I made the poor decision to skip this step and go to.
Step: B. Rooting and bootloader unlocking process using OTA package this step was going fairly well up to 5) Select recovery (3rd item from list), and use volume down button to navigate to it and select it by pressing power button. Upon clicking recovery the screen showed nothing but the usb symbol restarted several times and it would only go to the usb symbol no more bios menu or anything.
So I'm starting to panic a little at this point so I decide ok let me start back over at step A. Flash A195 image to the tablet. Ok good I have the bios menu back maybe I can get to the recovery screen from this one... Nope permanent usb screen again ****... Ok no problem I'll just go back to step A. Flash A195 image to the tablet and it will fix it again.... Nope permanent usb screen that I can't get to go away this time. So no what am I screwed can it be fixed?
I do not particular care about rooting it I just want it to function stock would be fine with me. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Update after several more redos of step " A. Flash A195 image to the tablet" I finally got it to stop showing the USB and go back to the droidboot screen. I'm afraid to try to access recovery again in fear that I will once again get stuck with the eternal usb symbol. So please advise me on the best course of action I should take from here.
http://opensource.dell.com/releases/Venue_8_3840_Merrifield/
before do step A12, copy 4file( adb.exe fastboot.exe adbwinapi.dll adbwinusbapi.dll) ( http://opensource.dell.com/releases/Venue_8_3840_Merrifield/developer-edition/FlashTool/fastboot/ ) and paste into the extracted image folder, after this, run the .bat file
thanks huynhlam, that got me a little further with step a12. Now I've run into a new issue though. Just get waiting for device. I've tried reinstalling all the drivers but it seems to only be detected properly when its off.
When its on the driver has a explanation mark next to it and it says "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)".
From my understanding it needs to be on during step a12 but I can't get it to do anything other then waiting for device at the moment any advice?
i'm done with windows 7 x64 , if you are runing on higher windows version eg : windws8 ,i hear something about install the driver ... like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62068965&postcount=2 or google eg : https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorial...abling-signed-driver-enforcement-on-windows-8
Also on windows 7 64x
maybe your driver issue, try uninstall driver, disable driver signature and re install driver.

ok you are most likely on 20160810 where recovery does not work.
you are most likely on windows 10 as well. first lets find a rom where recovery works.
We can use 20160810 rom and wipe userdata partition..
Here is the download link https://mega.nz/#!ys4DTIxa!8rrL0aktVQ8W7Q4Et8fvQ8jk2tAxLZvJOJH48S9Vkyk .
Once you have finished downloading you should then extract it to a folder.
Next we need to prepare your computer for the flashing process by installing the correct drivers.
look in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p9000/how-to/how-to-guideline-install-mtk-drivers-t3344042 scroll for your version of windows. follow the instructions and everything should work.
If you dont have add hardware option in windows then hit windows button and r and enter hdwwiz.exe.
now you have installed the drivers we need to download sp flash tools which is what we need to install the rom.
So go this website http://spflashtool.com/ now click on the first download link 'SPFlash Tool 5.1628' .
this will download a zip file. again extract it to a new folder. ok now you need to go in the flash tool and run flash_tool.exe by just clicking on it. now the software will load up.
You need to load the scatter file from the rom folder. The scatter file should be outside the encrypt folder and should be called MT6755_Android_scatter.txt . Now the rom should be loaded. You have some more options here, you can either untick all boxes and leave userdata (where your security and codes are stored) ticked or you can leave everything ticked which would flash the rom again. So once you have decided what option you have you need to turn your phone off. you then need to click download in flash tools and then connect your phone to the pc and hold the vol+ button. Then wait for it to flash, once the box with the tick opens you can close the program and restart your phone.
no recovery
there is no recovery in this build.........you have to flash one of your own.....
No recovery
Thank you, will start trying now and let you know.
Success!

As someone who has done this a few times - and forgotten this vital step almost every time, just a reminder that when using SPFlash Tool - after you set up the scatter file, you click on download so that it is trying to communicate with the phone before you even plug the cable into the phone, then with your phone turned off you hold Vol+ as you plug in the cable. It should send the file almost instantly.
This is a last ditch effort to restore your phone to working order. This should only be used if your phone DOES NOT BOOT AT ALL or if you are unable to boot into FASTBOOT.
If you can boot into Fastboot mode then I would encourage you to flash using Mi Flash tool.

First you need to extract the MTK bypass tool which is crucial as it will allow us to flash without requiring Auth file. NOTE: you need to disable antivirus or it will delete file.
Your PHONE NEEDS TO BE OFF! There is no need to unplug battery from the phone, I tested it myself and as long as the phone is OFF it'll still work. If your phone cannot power down due to bootloop, then you must remove backcover and unplug battery or just wait till battery runs out.
Once you have started the MTK bypass tool, choose MTK6765 from option that says auto and this is only for Redmi 9C. Now press on the bypass button a ad it will wait for you to connect your phone via USB. DO NOT CONNECT YOUR PHONE PRIOR TO THIS. Hold only the VOLUME UP button when connecting the USB cable to your phone and ensure the phone is OFF. ONCE you connect the phone, it will immediately respond and show a log saying its completed (SEE SCREENSHOT BELOW).
Once this step is completed leave your phone connected as you will soon start the flashing process. Open up SP FLASH TOOLS and run as admin. You will need to load the scatter file which is included in the Fastboot ROM under images folder. Once you have the scatter file loaded, SP tools will proceed to load all image files which will be used to flash phone so be patient.
Ensure that DOWNLOAD ONLY option is chosen as format and download option will format your IMEI also. Once all files have been loaded then just press the DOOWNLOAD button and wait to complete. Once done you can power ON the phone and it should boot.
Very good guide.
Thank you very much

I'm using a Redmi 9c I tried to unlock it but failed in the process. Later I get absolutely no response from the phone, I cant open fast boot or recovery. I tried connecting it to the pc but it shows the same exact problem you are facing. I tried all USB ports and switched cables back and forth but no success. I tried pressing volume up, down and all sorts of combinations, still no success. Any fix for this?

My compliments and thank you very much indeed to you for writing this very good and detailed guide. My Redmi 9c bootlooped after trying to install Lineage OS, of course no way to go to fastboot mode anymore (I'm a rather experienced custom ROM installer though). Although I asked for help in a separate thread, I got no answer for a couple of months now until I found this thread. I never gave up my Redmi 9C so I now followed you instructions and with success!! I will refer people to your thread of course. There is no doubt many can save their phone by reading you instructions.

I can do this for a Redmi 9a?
Using the same download agent
Hello, i did it but i did the mistake to do a FORMAT AND DOWNLOAD.
No my phone juste diplsay the Redmi logo a few second then power off.
I'm still able to go on the Sp Flash Tools and flash again. Anyone could help me please ?
hello sir so i recently hard bricked my redmi 9c nfc by installing older MIUI version that it came with. It was just black screen all the time and nothing. Tried this guide, mtk bypass tool worked but on sp flash tools i am greeted with this message.
Everything is acting like expected according to the video, but wheb I have used the mediatek bypass tool with green OK and stuff and when i start to press download on the smart phone flash tool, it just stucks at 0. Nothing happens, except that everything is greyed out and is trying to load it. If i boot my phone myself with the brom it says hint:add a authentication file or ask for help. I cant manage to finish it.
The error in Mediatek bypass tool about handshaking error is probably because i did it several times, because i didnt manage to load smartphone flash tool as attached below
This is my last hope to recover my brandew phone. Thanks for the good tutorial, but it didt work out. If someone could save me then I would be grateful

This is a last ditch effort to restore your phone to working order. This should only be used if your phone DOES NOT BOOT AT ALL or if you are unable to boot into FASTBOOT.
If you can boot into Fastboot mode then I would encourage you to flash using Mi Flash tool.

Tools Needed:
MTK Bypass Tool
SP Flash Tools
Fastboot ROM ( Around 3GB Download)
PC and USB cable

Tested! Howto Unbrick Redmi 9C (angelica) without using auth account
This blog has move and will not be update again. For new update please open ▶▶
