Fire HDX 7 Not recognized by pc - Kindle Fire HDX 7" & 8.9" Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hi guys,
I have a fire hdx 7 and recently it was updated to 4.5.5.2
After that it wont by recognized by my PC and laptop, i tried on both with windows 10 and ubuntu, any of then shows signs of recognition by logs. The only thing is that the kindle shows a message that the fire is connectd to a low power charger.
I have tried many things and nothing is working. I manage to root with kingroot, in it shows the permission to adb and the permission is allowed.
Some one have any ideas of what could it by?
Thanks!!
Sorry for my english, hope to understhud.

English reads fine.
Try a different USB cable. While this seems an unlikely solution (especially if HDX was recognized before using the same cable) it is often the cause of connection issues...especially if using the factory cable. The notice about a "low power charger" suggests no connectivity on one/both data pins.

Thanks for the reply
I tried that with some diferrent cables, using usb 2.0 and 3.0, the problem remains.
I'm wondering if it issen't a hardware problem, that massage about charging shows in every charger that i plug in to.

Ah - new info. Check for bent/missing pin in the micro USB port. Separation could also have occurred on mainboard. Not an easy fix...both disassembly and soldering.
I have not seen/heard of a firmware (kernel) issue that fails to recognize a valid data connection on this device.

I have the exact same problem. Did you ever resolve it? Thinking I may need to replace the port.

[Q] HELP - Why is it saying "USB Device Not Recognized" for WMDC?

So, I just got a HTC HD2 and am trying to connect it to the PC. By the way, did the TMOUSA HD2 ever come with a cd?
I have a vista and tried to download the Activesync 4.5 but it won't allow as I am suppose to download Windows Mobile Device Center. So, I download WMDC and installed it. I plug in the phone and all I get is "USB Device Not Recognized" . PC doesn't detect it.
I have searched everywhere and tried everything but can't seem to get it going. I haven't anything solid to get it to work.
I tried:
-reinstalling the WMDC
-check and uncheck "Enable faster data sync"
Anybody have any idea? TIA
Is the phone charging LED lighting up when connected?
Have you tried another USB cable and/or another computer?
Then you could boot the phone up in Bootloader Mode. It will say 'serial' at the bottom of the screen. Then plug in the USB cable. The 'serial' should change to 'USB'. Then this might indicate that your computer is viewing the device as a unknown device. This device can be removed and your phone, in normal mode, replugged in.
This may not help, but it's worth a try. Vista has a known issue where it just stops recognising USB devices, even basic ones. Plug your phone in via USB and then restart the computer. When it comes back on it may recognise the phone. If this works then it will be okay for a while at least, but you may have to do this again every now and then.
Vista's basically a bug-ridden bag of gash. If you can, upgrade to Windows 7.
Hope this helps mate.

I tried with a laptop with vista (WMDC) and a laptop with xp (activesync 4.5). The led charging light is on, so it is charging but for some reason device not recognized.
I tried the bootloader (not sure what that does) and it says serial and then I plugged in the usb and it still says serial.
Still not working

I think I tried that already but I'll give it a shot again. At this point, I'll do anything lol. I was so stoked in putting android in this too
does any one think a hard reset might help?
It sounds as though the USB controller in the phone is damaged. I had this problem with my HTC Diamond, and searched for ages trying to find a solution. I manged to flash it with a couple of times with different ROMs (from the internal memory via WiFi) - this did not solve the problem.
I am sure that a power surge from a car charger was the cause of the fault.

it couldn't hurt. i would - see what happens.
try checking cabling first or change the cable
Same problem
I am having the exact same problem. My phone can charge on the computer but I cant sync of even access it via the "Disk Drive" setting. I have tried both AcrtiveSync and the Disk Drive option, unchecking fast data synchronization, reseting the phone, and reinstalling WMDC. I have Windows 7 with the latest updates. I have also tried connecting it to two other Win7 machine with identical "device not recognized" results. The phone and cable and practically brand new. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm at my wits end with this phone and it has been beyond frustrating.
Dom
Try another pc... buddy wid wmdc in it... go for win 7
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
I am having same problems have tried on a vista pc, my mac and mac running parallels, nothing works. Reckon it is as fred_up says, damaged usb controller which means no NAND Android for me.
Been having similar problems, but seems to have been less likely to occur if I click "Safely remove hardware" in Vista or W7, and remove the device - yes even Activesync (doesn't seem to be available in XP)
Mark
did anybody find a soulution?
hi
did anybody get solution for this? i m having the same problem.
phone doesnt sync with wmdc, nor connect as disk, only charges itself.
message appears "usb device not recognised"
i have done everything, changed cables, pcs, re installed wmdc, even flashed new roms using micro sd....nothing happened.
is this a hardware issue? why can it be charged but not synchronised?
pls help anybody.
Try another Cable. In my case, changing the cable works. Now i m using my HD mini cable with HD2 and it is working well.

thanks,
but i have already tried all that.
today i called a phone repair shop and they told me that
this could be due to two reasons.
1. usb port problem.-in which case it is replaceable for about 15 usd.
2. problem with an IC (?) of the circuit (guess the motherboard) - in which case
it is either not repairable or very expensive.
i ll keep posting as i go and visit the shop.
if there's another solution pls share here.
Some possible solutions to non-USB
Having come here via a search, I'll resurrect the thread with a brief comment. I'm having the same problem, haven't tried them yet but found several promising suggestions:

solution...
oops...had forgotten all about this thread, until today till i received the notice about new reply.
thanks for resurrecting the thread.
actually i went to that phone repair shop i mentioned earlier and they fixed it by replacing the usb port. still it didnt work with win 7 laptops. but was fine with xp laptops. dont know why...anyway i have said good bye to my hd2 long ago & using android now
guess lots of people are.
good luck to you all.

[Q] Galaxy SIII USB Connectivity Issues

Hey everyone, I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII (LTE Version) and no matter how hard I try I can't get it to solidly connect to my computer!
What happens whenever I plug the Galaxy SIII into my PC (Windows 8) is a follows:
I hear the device connected sound from my PC and the charging indication from my SIII. So far so good, but most of the time when I go to "My Computer" the phone isn't listed anywhere. After a couple of times plugging the USB cable in and out it shows up on the PC, but almost instantly after being listed I can hear the device disconnected sound and the window closes. If I move the cable for the SIII even a tiny bit I can hear the device connected sound almost instantly followed by the device disconnected sound and a message from Windows telling me that the USB device malfunctioned.
This makes the task of copying photos or movies to and from the device near enough impossible. The phone is only a few months old and is completely unmodified! The USB cable is also the stock out-of-the-box one. This doesn't seem to be a new issue either! It's been happening almost out of the box but I assumed it was down to drivers (which were updated but made no change) and now it's starting to annoy me very much!
Any help would be much appreciated

I'll be sure to give these a shot! Thanks!
No probs.
Beware if you dont know already, factory reset wipes your internal sd card. Maybe use dropbox to auto upload all your photos before you get to that stage.

Alright, so I went digging in the cupboard and found the cable from my old Xperia Play. Upon using that as opposed to the one Samsung shipped with the phone, the connection issues seem to have vanished. (I'll update here if they return)
I suppose this goes to show badly made the stock Samsung cables are which is quite a shock considering Samsung expect people to rely on them.
The cables are crap. The s3 has built in stability detection. If connection unstable with cable, lowers charge to 100mA.
Almost all the "slow charging" threads are down to crap sammy cable

A - 85%. The usb cable is not compatible or is defective. I have 5+ microUSB cables that are known good charging cables but they don't work for data. They are like that by design as they are for charging only, they come with things that will never use a data connection, such as a battery powered keyboard w/rechargeable internal battery or bluetooth headphones that only adopt the microUSB connection for power but look just like every other microUSB cable.
B - 10%. No drivers installed*. Have you checked down by the clock in windows to see if its trying to install drivers? If its an older PC where Windows Updates are disabled and the pc is set to not look online for drivers, this is possible, but highly unlikely since it doesn't work on the MAC. Also, usb debugging isn't needed in most cases. Even with that disabled, you should still be able to see the watch and the 4 basic folders.
*in the highly unlikely event that you really do need windows drivers, download here.
C - 5%. Have you messed with the watch before? eg; rooting or anything like that? If so, its RARE but has happened where in 1/30 cases after trying to flash something or rooting that the watch becomes unresponsive to data on the usb connection. If thats the case, rebooting into recovery mode will very correct your issue.
There ya go..... in order of probability.
I also have quite a few of cables. The ones that I use for data I have them marked. As stated by cipher.....cables might look the same but don't function the same.
Thanks

Elephone p9000 wont charge

Just received my awaited elephone p9000 today and had been using it for a couple of hours setting up, Doing an update etc. When i came time to charge it. To sum it up it used the supplied usb c cable to attempt to charge it on multiple usb chargers and tried it with two pc's with no success. When connected to the pc it did come up with 'This device has been linked" Then immediately followed by "this device has been unplugged" Or at least something along those lines. Today i went and purchased a micro usb to usb c adapter and managed to get it to charge momentarily then to find it stop then start again. I am now sitting on 1% power and not sure what todo. Any advice? I have warranty on it from gearbest fyi.

When I first charged my P9000 it did not go over 50% until I updated to the newest OTA and rebooted the device after the last update.
But I have not encountered disconnects or anything like that.
You could also screw your device apart and remove the battery for some time, but as you have a valid warranty I would not recommend that.

If you connect your phone to your PC, is it listed in the device manager? If yes, does your PC recognize it as Elephone p9000?
Have you installed the latest drivers for your phone? (http://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-1037-1-1.html#.VWgkX_RAU-0)
Maybe changing the connection type in the notifications (when plugged in) helps in any way ?
Have you tried a different lead? I know this sounds obvious but my brother had a similar problem with his P9000 when he first got it, he used my lead (for some reason my lead was different to his as I bought from a different supplier, dunno why mines a kinda thick white lead, my brothers was a kinda thinner blue Elephone lead) and it worked fine. Although I haven't come across anyone else on here that's come across an issue with the supplied lead.

It does multiple things when it connects at different stages
ON and connected to pc- With elephone cable the phone constantly displays the messages 'Charger has been linked' and 'device has been unplugged' within ~1 sec of each other and no connection is noticed on PC.
With the MICRO USB - USB C adapter nothing happens
Powered off and connected to pc- Charging symbol will flash momentarily every ~5seconds. Pc will ding repeatedly as it connects and disconnects
fastboot- Somehow connects and is recognised by PC
Ive managed to get it past 30% power but took ages todo from leaving it powered off and just flashing on and off charging

I only have 2 leads unfortunately. The stock elephone and a micro usb to usb c adapter with a working micro usb attached. Ive ordered some more online and waiting their arrival. Im stuck on what todo
That is indeed very strange.
You could try to flash TWRP 3.0.2.1 via fastboot (http://en.miui.com/thread-58623-1-1.html, just use the TWRP for Elephone P9000 instead), but I would not recommend that as your connection is really unstable. The chance of bricking your device is much higher than the chance that your problem is solved.
If the leads you ordered do not help you should get it replaced.
