This is my custom kernel for the LG V20. I've spent months working on this and making sure it works on both stock and custom roms.
Changes from last releases: We now build each variant separately along with different releases for stock and custom roms for maximum compatibility.
Stock is still being tested, but I've been using custom for months
Feature List:
- EAS for custom ROMs (Note: Your ROM MUST have userspace support for EAS otherwise it won't kick in. Also you need to keep schedutil governer for EAS to work)
- Latest upstream 3.18.55
- Updated crypto functions
- Adreno idler
- Adrenoboost
- KCAL
- Optimizations following KISS(Keep it simple stupid)
- Built with GNU's GCC 6.3.1
- SafetyNet bootloader workaround
- Exfat Support
- SIO, FIOPS, bfq, cfq, deadline, noop IO scheduler
- ondemand, interactive, performance, conservative (Custom: scheduti, schedl)
- bic, cubic, htcp, reno, westwood TCP congestion algorithms
- Fingerprint Boost, when unlocking with fingerprint it should be a lot faster
- Various smaller tweaks

I'm back and better than ever. Finally worked out the kinks by doing releases separately instead of one catchall release
Right place at the right time ?! Thank you for the kernel and all of your hard work! Can't wait to check it out!

Great to see you back! I've been on stock kernel and can't wait to try out this kernel
Awesome to see some development for our v20's! Thank you!

First thank you for sharing. I flashed on h918 and second screen is below allotted area of screen making the original screen area smaller. Also it takes forever to settle. Wondering if this is for stock or AOSP only.

Same here, going to let it settle a bit more to see if it helps.
Does this kernel play nice with Wi-Fi calling or is this going to need a reboot like the other non-stock kernels?

I'm on mega rom. Not actually stock but stock based. Which is why I was wondering if it's actually for AOSP when you say custom. Thanks.

Downloading and testing now. I've been having issues with LOS based kernel so hoping this can fix some of my issues.
Also man, I think you should include instructions even though most of us know what to do with a zip lol.
Excited for this. Loved your first releases, just had the occasional touchscreen issues. This will end up being my DD kernel for sure.
Trying this now on AOSP and super happy... A big thank you! Your the bomb!
Ls997 user here. Been running on EmotionOS for a few hours now & everything has been stable for me on stock configuration. Thanks for sharing man!
Awesome can't wait to try the stock version

NOTICE: This is COMPATIBLE with AOSP+ AND PureAosp JellyBean 4.3!
Just a statement regarding kernel source: The Kernel Source is of course covered under GPL version 2. Free software does NOT mean no work or time was spent working on it. I have donated a large sum of my free time to hack this kernel. If you use my modified kernel source in parts or in its entirety, I kindly ask you mention its origins and to send me a github pull request or PM whenever you find bugs or think you can help improve my kernel hack further. This way the entire community will truly benefit from the spirit of open source. Thank you !
THIS KERNEL IS CURRENTLY IN TESTING STATUS AND NOT BETA OR STABLE
*Features*
Quad Core is disabled by default, the X+ will now turn into a Dual core device (this can be changed with the performance governor)

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the Linaro optimizations consist of both changes made to the Android Open Source Project (and CM) as well as a special toolchain that uses GCC 4.7. Because this is a kernel that is only offered in its source form, it is up to you to build it with the Linaro toolchain if you want to see the performance benefits that can arise from the Linaro optimizations. Also Lloir was somewhat specific in telling you not to make feature requests (I would consider Linaro such a request), so you might want to read his post a bit more closely next time.

This is a link to the kernel source. you would have to build the kernel yourself. if your looking for a CM kernel for ATT HOX+, then i would wait for a fully working CM rom first. There is still audio issues with CM, however devs are working on it. Be patient

After compiling roms for a couple devices and learning about the android rom, i have decided to dabble in the arts
of kernel compiling, i started with my main device the Nexus 6p, learnt a fair bit compiling kernels for it, so i decided to
come back to this device for testing purposes and trying to test and go back to ARM device which is completely different.
Now with the Nexus device i went full updated linux kernel first then gave updates, but this time ill be doing something a little
different, i will upstream some kernel updates, plus caf updates then i will give a release, or for example, the first realease i will
give you guys will be 3.4.2 kernel version, just to get things going, then next release will be a higher version.
I hope all of you like it i will be adding alot of stuff in the coming months.
All releases will keep up to date and working with latest CM roms
Here is the download link just click on the kernel and it will download

Ok so stock stock kernel you get with stock rom or even custom like CyanogenMod/lineageos has a kernel version of 3.4, each incremental update after that eg 3.4.1 or even 3.4.100 has many fixes and updates within the kernel, some do nothing for our device but others can, a small code change in one file can impact the way the kernel works

Well I'm running latest lineageos and I have never had it reboot on me. Are you using any kernel manager apps at all, as I haven't been able to add and customisation to it just it. It may panic because it's reaching for something it doesn't have
No reboots here either,
Im running the latest official Lineage .
if u have kernel mod or any other kernel tuner installed try to go back to your basic settings or just delete the app and install it again after your first boot.
Really smooth kernel !
Hi... Can you had the savoca Patch to use with Wheatstone.apk? Can use my phone without it
Enviado do meu LG-D855 através de Tapatalk
The goal here is both is to play with features which could be later be backported to official kernels, but also ones that probably shouldn't (like fast charging).
I'm basing my work on some existing kernels, but putting a little tuning here and there and making available via anykernel (3, currently) zippable installers. Currently there's only one maintaned branch, for LineageOS 17.1 and derivatives (success reports comes from LoS 15.1 to Non-LOS based roms, YMMV).
Contributors and testers are always welcome.
Due credit to karthik km for his miracledroid kernel and nicknitewolf for his kernel, rom and all his contributions in having our wt88047 devices up-to-date.

The zram branch is up to date. The miracledroid will be when I release anything from it. I'm currently trying a build from the latter(with zram updates) , and the battery consumption when idle seems way better. If I don't catch anything wrong I'll release a build this week.

In my tree, lineage-15.1 branch will always be even with upstream. That helps me merging. What you're looking for is available both in:

By the way I find your settings a little bit laggy why you don't switch to sio sequlder and interactive cpu governor? I find them more responsive and battery friendly

Did you try flashing one of these versions ?
The only difference between this kernel versions is wifi location and maybe encryption(I forgot if there is big difference, as far as I remember there were problems when using the same boot.img for both roms), so if you flash omni kernel version on carbon rom, your wifi will not work and probably encryption. Try and see if it works, if not, just send me boot.img of resurection remix rom and I will fix it.

I am sorry for late reply.
Did you by mistake write that you flashed Carbon V because this kernel wont work on that version, it will work just on OREO.
Also you can expect these days z3c kernel port, and kernel for z3 pie.

I know it's for Oreo and that img file I linked is rr oreo's boot.img. I meant carbon version by writing carbon v(not 5,etc). Really waiting to see the combination of your kernel and rr, cause i think the serious flaw with rr is its kernel. Btw, seems you're doing it faster than rom developers bro, I haven't seen any stable pie rom for z3 yet:fingers-crossed::good:

There is but not fully functional, I will just port kernel to it, and all is left to do is fix bugs in rom.
I have posted test version on discord https://discord.gg/krRBhje
Have tested it on Z2. It just makes the screen black. Until I restore my stock kernel.
Any possibility to port it to Z2 ?
