Information on device(s): I have 2 Brand New HTC EVO 3D GSM PG86300 models bothe fully unlocked; Botrh with unlocked Bootloader and Both s-off, 1 fully Rooted and the other reday to begin root, but stoped just before Full root.
The device that is fully rooted got bricked 2 days ago, and I have been upside down in the threads, but have not found any answe to actually restoring this problem. I did not fully root the other, which I may need to just to extract files and use them to restore the bricked device.
What happened?, Like a jackass I thunmbed the wrong command while in root explorer and executed a script whick in return showed me a Black screen that was stuck and displayed at the bottom "SD Card SAfe To Remove" ?????? Finally I pulled the battery out and it gave me the HTC White Screen and has Fingered me ever since. I have loaded the PGimg86.zip for update, it updated, I changed the name of the file in Revolutionary by mounting the USB to PC the device as instructed, Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also formated / deletedmy cache. I have recovered everything I could. I have used the other SD Card to fix the loading issue, but Nothing.
My goal was to finish the processes and the Flash the device to also be able to use or Roam on the Sprint / Boost Network as the APN list does not recognize the Network Operator for that Carrier being that it is the only Carrier that APN's have to be Flashed.
The device was already recognizing SIM Cards from all Networks except Sprint / Nextel / Boost. This would be a similar running process on a BB 8350i, as I have completed to work on Both. BTW, the IDEN Network is nothing more than 800Mhz so Please do not advise me on the IDEN issue as it is a CAVE signal. What I need is the Phone Back to either Factory Reset or Original Carrier info. I can start a new and maybe, just Maybe, someone can figure out what to do in order to Script the PRL of SPrint / Nextel / Boost on these devices instead of the PG86100 model as it is a Tri-Band with a GSM Chip and virtually is the same in a sense except the PG86300 has a SIM Slot and can run on any signal as a Quad-Band out there. I have reviewed The International options of setting up the APN with GSM on Sprint, but unless it recognizes the Network Operator, It is not worth the instructions that where lsted.
Carrier: Rogers in Canada Roaming in the United States to Local area on GSM. Unlocked to accept all other Carriers but list above. First need to unbrick one of the devices and get it to boot again.
S.O.S. PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEE HHHHEEEELLLLPPP HELP, Thanks, prose072

Moving to Q&A
Bricked?
If you are not able to boot it using flashboot to get into recovery then it is probably bricked. You can always take it to a sprint store and see if they can fix it.
It's Not a Sprint Phone It's an PG86300 Not 100

It's Not a Sprint Phone It's an PG86300 Not 100, It's the International Model GSM Quad Band, Not Tri-Band (Never leave home without a SIM SLUT / Card ) Dual GSM/CDMA device
This is the GSM Model. I have restored it to boot with an Direct exe file, but now I new to have it recognize the sim card as it says limited network. (????)
I will put the fix up for others with the same model here. I do need to find the link where this was moved to so I can answer the initial question(SSSS).
Thanks for replying. As soon as I get some other things complete I will have full time to re-address this problem later this evening.
Hi there,
I rooted my phone. I've installed Cyanogenmod 7 and enjoyed it. However, it is SIM locked. I purchased an unlock code... but now I can't enter it.
This person had the same problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313393
Cyanogenmod does not prompt to unlock even with a foreign SIM card.
The solution was to revert to a stock firmware. Which is great... except for the fact that my phone's model number is:
i5500m.
It's the dreaded Canadian version. I can't find firmware for it anywhere. I've tried Check FUS:
Product Code: GT-I5500YKMVMC
No firmware info retrieved for given data.
Generally it seems like I only have two solutions... and one failure.
The first solution is to find a stock firmware for this phone. Or receive a backup from someone who has the stock firmware with Clockworkmod.
The second solution is to enter the unlock code without the prompt. Is there a way, an app, or a hack to do something like this?
My failure is to accept that there's no reverting. But I don't really want to do that.
Oh, and thank you for welcoming me into your forums. XDA Developers is a really amazing site. I've thanked it plenty of times for saving my ass.
Thanks for your time,
Sacrosaint.
Your answer may be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149110
Look closely at the latest changelog and notice that point 12 states -
"Network: SIM lock messages will no longer be ignored. This may help people who have problems using SIM cards that require a PIN unlock."
Good luck

Thank you so much! I missed that update by only two days. I'm sure this will help many people.
I'll edit this post with my results once completed.
Thanks again!
Sacrosaint.
---------------------------------
Results:
So I updated the ROM. I did not do a data-wipe. I inserted a foreign SIM card. It says it's connected but I'm not getting any service... I don't believe it's unlocked, as I haven't entered a code yet.
Perhaps I should do a data-wipe and retry. I'll repost afterward.
---------------------------------
Potential Final Update:
Odd! I inserted a Rogers SIM card into my phone running CyanogenMod and although no unlock code appeared... it worked. Also known as: my phone is unlocked.
Some interesting thoughts concerning this:
My phone model is i5500m. It comes locked to Bell or Virgin Mobile in Canada.
Upon trying the bml5 unlock method, my code came up as "01234567." Others experiencing this problem concluded that the phone was hard locked.
However, it would appear that flashing this ROM effectively removed the SIM lock. That means that originally, the SIM lock was a part of the firmware. That is slightly scary. I wish I would have come to this conclusion earlier, however, as I paid a premium of $40 dollars to unlock it (at least I supported a local business.)
So: for i5500m or Canadian Samsung Galaxy 5 users to unlock their phones, they must simply root and flash a custom ROM. Originally mine was from Bell, and it has worked with a Rogers SIM card. I'll possibly update this tomorrow when I try the phone with a Koodo SIM.
Hope this helps someone out there.

Sacrosaint,
I have an unlocked GT-I5503YKAINU running baseband I5500LUYJP2 and ROM CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC0-galaxy5-v1.9. I inserted a Virgin Mobile Canada SIM card and do not get Service. With a Rogers SIM card, I do get Service. I spoke to people at Virgin and they said it's because my phone doesn't support HSPA+. The reason it works with Rogers is because it supports GSM.
I'm wonder if there's a way to install the baseband firmware from GT-I5500YKMVMC and still use CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC0-galaxy5-v1.9?

What the representative said was true.
Virgin is both HSPA+ and CDMA. The Galaxy 5 IS a GSM phone. Its radio will not work with other frequencies.
You will want to go with Bell, Rogers, Telus, Fido, or Koodo, the GSM suppliers, my friend.
Hi, i have been trying to find an answer to this after hours of searching i've come up short and confused.
I recently switched from tmobile to verizon, and i paid off my tmobile s9+ and had it sim unlocked. When i put my verizon sim in it, nothing really happens. either it tells me that it can't register on the network or to insert a tmobile sim card.
I have tried using reset and factory reset. I have also tried the method of holding the volume bixby and power and doing a factory reset, then putting the sim in, rebooting, etc. That doesn't work either.
I see several people trying to go from verizon to tmobile, but i haven't been able to find anyone going from tmobile to verizon, and what method i need to do to get this to work, if its possible at all. Any help would be so much appreciated!

Use Odin to flash U1 and then go back to U. Just leave the SIM in. Don't use HOME CSC.

That still may not help, remember Verizon is still CDMA and the T Mobile branded phone does not have CDMA bands activated and they may not even be on the phone, I don't know. Granted band 13 should work fine, being LTE, but could the sim be looking for a CDMA radio and that is why it is not working?

The hardware is identical for all US Galaxy S9 phones. Any bands that may be missing will be resolved by flashing firmware. OP could also just stay with U1 if they want unlocked, and all bands would still be there.

As per Samsung chat support, I've asked if the dual sim version (international) will work with Verizon. I've also asked the rep if I can switch carriers with a locked phone. They said that essentially, all phones were manufactured with the CDMA and GSM band compatibility, it just needs to be unlocked and the US versions will work on any carrier in the US and the international version (dual sim) needs to be unlocked and it will work with any carrier in any country.
That said, it seems that you're just having an unlocking issue - which is good and bad. I hope you figure this out. Try using Odin 3.13, get the CORRECT firmware for U1 or U(VZW) to flash your phone

Only one small correction to what they told you: The 965F (international), will not have CDMA capabilities. That might not be a problem on some US carriers. But if you can't get VoLTE working on VZW with 965F, then you're dead in the water, since you don't have 1x CDMA calling to fall back on. It becomes a data-only device. I don't have experience with it, but I wouldn't be surprised if the VoLTE doesn't work on US carriers. For GDM/WCDMA carriers, you'd probably be just fine with 965F. Even if VoLTE doesn't work, you'd still be able to call.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply, any idea where to get these? I'm seeing all kinds of universal stuff and people saying carrier specific don't exist, etc etc. If you happen to know i'd be extremely grateful

Step 1
Can you find out the exact model number?
For T-Mobile, it will be one of these :
SM-G965UZKATMB (Midnight Black)
SM-G965UZBATMB (Coral Blue)
SM-G965UZPATMB (Lilac Purple)
The U is the important part, as a previous poster explained that the F models do not have CDMA support (forget what that actually means, just know its necessary for verizon)
Step 2
Next, make sure that the carrier version is correct.
Example: SM-G965UZKATMB
BST Boost
VZW Verizon
ATT ATT
USC US Cellular
ACG C Spire
TMK MetroPCS
VMU Virgin Mobile
TFN Tracfone
XAS Sprint
TMB T-Mobile
XAA Unlocked US
SPR Sprint
CCT Xfinity Mobile
Essentially, you need the firmware that starts with SM-G965U and ends with VZW
Step 3
I'm not 100% sure on how to flash from carrier to carrier but there will be a list of directions. You may need to do some research there to see if it will void samsung warranty (aka 'trip knox') or anything like that, if that matters to you. I think only a modified version of Odin will be able to do this.
Download Odin v3.13.1
Extract the firmware file you just downloaded. You should get 5 files:
AP (System & Recovery)
BL (Bootloader)
CP (Modem / Radio)
CSC_OXM (OXM CSC file, will wipe your phone)
HOME_CSC_OXM (OXM CSC file, will NOT wipe your phone)
Add each file to it's respective field in Odin v3.13.1. Use CSC_OXM if you want to do a clean flash and HOME_CSC OXM if you want to keep your apps and data.
Reboot your phone in Download / Odin mode with the following button combo: POWER + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY
Once in download mode, connect your phone to the PC, preferably using the original USB cable you got with your phone. Odin should detect your device and a blue box will show up with the COM port number.
Do NOT tick any extra boxes. The only options to be ticked are F.Reset Time and Auto-Reboot.
Click the start button, wait for Odin to say 'PASS'. Once the flash is complete, your phone will reboot.

To download firmwares, google "SAMMOBILE website: /firmwares/galaxy-s9-plus/SM-G965U"
Looks like the latest verizon firmware is here: SAMMOBILE website /firmwares/galaxy-s9-plus/SM-G965U/VZW/download/G965USQS2ARF4/223287

Hey thanks a bunch, I’ll give this a shot when I get home tonight. It very well may be that the rom I got wasn’t the right one. Other threads I’ve read seemed to indicate that everything was universal now and by having the SIM card in the phone while flashing, it would download the carrier specific stuff automatically. That part at least doesn’t appear to be the case since the phone wouldn’t accept it. But I’ll download some of the carrier specifics and see what happens. Thanks again!
Did you get it to work after all?
Sorry that i forgot to update! I did get it working, but it required a bit more discussion and help on a reddit discussion someone started. I noticed that someone asked this exact question and i pointed him to this thread where he was able to get it working, then helped me with which roms he used, and i got it working as well! I've been using it daily for almost a month now. Thanks so much for everyones help, i hope that if anyone else is trying to do this, between the two threads it can help. Awesome gigatigga - thanks for getting back. I'm on the verge of trying this. I owe some money on my S9 plus on t-mobile but before i paid it off wanted to make sure all is good.
How are the speeds? Everything working ok? Thanks again! :good::good:
Edit: I was all set to do this and during the signup - I found out that my imei wouldn't work in Verizon's system so they used one from another phone. He advised that if I wanted to pay for insurance, if I make a claim it could be an issue because the imei numbers won't match up. Seemed like a big red flag to me. So I didn't go through with it. Wonder how others are handling this?
I just switched from the ATT firmware to ARF4 on T-Mobile, but it says there is no update available, while the newest T-Mobile update is ARF7. Does anyone know how to get updates OTA?

Right here bro. You'll need to sign up with Sam Mobile first then download it. It's slow but it'll get there in about 4 hours or so

Can someone help me?
I cannot network unlock a T-mobile Samsung Galaxy 9 plus which has never been active on any plan. When I insert my Verizon SIM card a system notification says "Invalid SIM card. Network Locked SIM card inserted".
I want to bring this phone to Verizon where I have an active plan. I don't have a plan with Tmobile and my friend gifted me this phone. I flashed it to Samsung stock firmware and bought an unlock code from DoctorSim. The code applied successfully however the phone doesn't unlock completely and continues to prompt for the unlock code when I insert the Verizon Sim card. When I called Tmobile they said only a phone active for 40 days on their network can be unlocked using the phone app and that my friend would have to call them to unlock the phone.
