I Also have a Matsunichi Marquis MP977 and would love to know of any upcoming developments.
It's currently on sale at Best Buy for only $99, a fantastic price. If there is any development (i dont think there is, at all) it would be a dream come true.
I'm still contemplating picking it up...

I just rooted my Marquis pad with this rooting tool. Its works like a charm! Note: The tool indicates that it doesn't identify the device but as long as you manually update the drivers via device manager on other device / Marquispad with yellow exclamation mark it will root.

Help
How did you do this because i have been trying to root my mp977 for days now with no luck. any idea where to find the drivers for it?

Can you upload the specific drivers used, I have been trying to download that huge driver pack for days now and it keeps timing out. I would love to start cooking up a custom JB rom for this thing.
HELP!

Anything ever happen with this? Would like to root this thing.
just an update. If you download the driver pack in the earlier link, then point the windows drivers to that folder once its extracted, it will find drivers for this pad. At this point I can get into the pad using adb and fastboot commands. Doesnt do me much good since I have no recovery/root rom/etc... to flash, but I can get there. I used that allinone kit to boot it into fastboot mode and recovery mode.
GOT IT ROOTED!!
I used the bin4ry v33 root package. I had to update adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll and AdbWinUsbApi.dll to the adb verision from 10/23/13 (current adb version). I used option 1, went through the steps, had an error about not finding some ric file, but worked great. Thanks
I need the ROM STOCK recovery for this Matsunichi Marquis MP977 Tablet!!!
yow mi a try get the flash file
for mine and i cant find it

I'm a newbie, so can't post in development, so I have to open a thread here. I've thouroughly read Cmahendra's excellent rooting guide in development. The process seems clear, but it is totally Windows based. Is there a way to accomplish the same thing in Linux? I could convert the. bat files to scripts, and already have a Linux version of adb, so that is no problem. What other software do I need drivers, executables, etc. to get this done? If that is impossible, can I accomplish the root in a VMware virtual machine running XP?
I have attached the phone to my linux box in LG software mode, and it appears in adb using the device command. With adb shell, I am able to noodle around the phone, so I'm sure that I can convert the .bat files to .sh and do all of the necessary adb tasks. It is the flashing steps that I'm not sure about.
I'm anxious to get rooted, so I'd appreciate any help.
[Q] Can Cmahendra/Lelus root method be done in Linux?

Hi, at least I dont know any such flashing tool released by LG on linux platform. So without Update tool (flashing application) working on other things is useless. This tool is service center tool and not released for general public. They might be working only on windows.
But there could be some other command line methods to flash kdz on linux. Please search elsewhere on xda.
PS: Please change title to only "Lelus method". There is no cmahendra method. Lelus should be always mentioned first for his great work. I am not necessary. Thanks
Sent from my LG-P765 using xda app-developers app
It should work in a VM. If not you can make a windows partition and dual boot.

Your guide is so helpful, I just naturally put your name on the method. The change has been done.
Hello.
I rooted my p760 v20c (open bootloader) with this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39114847.
+ flash supersu update.zip with cwm
Perhaps fastboot work with Linux.

I used the VM machine to flash an old Coby Kyros tablet. It worked for that, so I see no reason that it won't for the LG. It's just that things are so much simpler in Linux, no drivers or folderol like that.

I have a P769 with ICS - T-Mobile hasn't released JB, so it doesn't have an open bootloader. I don't think I can flash unsigned boot images.
So.. My first tread here.
Anyways, let's jump into the topic itself.
So today foolishly, I used TWRP and "kind of" deleted the whole operating system by accident.
How could I recover it, and no, I do not have ANY backups, I used to have but seems like I deleted them aswell..
The phone is Nexus 4 and Android version is 4.4.4
This is kind of urgent, since I need my phone to work right now.
All help is appreciated, waiting for your replies,

You have 2 options:
Use adb to push a new rom to the phone and install in TWRP.
Use fastboot to flash the stock img files to the phone while in bootloader/fastboot mode.

Did you bother to look in the Nexus 4 forums here?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/how-to-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2010312
My preferred method would be by adb though.
adb push nameofrom.zip /sdcard
while in recovery.
If you need adb http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
maybe it's impossible

I got these after using mtk-su temp root and backing them up. I am not liable for any damages you did to your device if you misused these. If you succeeded though, please tell me, that will be the only thing I wish from you for using these. Thanks

Don't waste time on this device. It can't be rooted. I have tried using all methods on internet, used some exploits but nothing!!
I think this is the worst device I ever bought.
But keep trying guys, and if you get any solution do share that here.
Thanks.
Tip: others who don't know anything about rooting don' t try the methods you can't understand from the web.

Anyone ever wondered if you can flash the oppo a12 firmware on oppo a5s? Their hardware specs are the same.
@abia @Thago You can unlock bootloader
1) downgrade the rom to version 17
2) use mtk easy su
3) in magisk install adbandfastboot ndk (because this oppo phone doesn't have fastboot)
run these commands
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flashing unlock
fastboot reboot
I have successfully unlocked my bootloader

Yes it works
1) you have to unlock the bootloader first by my above method
2) patch the boot image manually with magisk ( auto patching doesn't work) or I will link one afterwards if you can't do it
the root is persistant after this, the only downside is the taskbar constanty displays "your device is rooted message" but it can also be fixed with a xposed module
