Anyone else having any problems with charging? My supplied QC 3.0 charger has developed issues - it usually charges OK, but if it has been recently used it seems to completely stop working for a while. I think that's a problem with the charger rather than the phone because when it stops working it also won't charge other devices. I also have a problem with an Aukey QC3.0 power bank that I recently bought. It charges my phone fine if I turn off fast charging in battery settings on the phone, but if fast charging is on it only charges while the screen is on. As soon as the screen goes off, it completely stops charging (and the lock screen comes back on).
Both the above problems have occurred regardless of which ROM I have installed.
Edit: power bank is actually working now, but that might be because phone battery is already over 90% so it is not trying to draw fast charge levels of current. Will have to try again when the battery is below 70%.

Of course quick charging works more efficiently at lower levels of battery. I have a USB meter that shows max about 21 Watts approx 7.8 V x 2.8 A.

Oh, I missed this info. How do you recognize fast charging? I observed that it works a little bit differently while in TWRP, less aggressive.

Don't think there is any way to know what kind of charging it is doing on this phone (unlike my Zenfone 2, which tells you both on the status bar battery icon and with a verbose message on the lock screen). My problem with the power bank is that if fast charging is enabled in the phone settings, it won't charge at all once the screen goes off.
Just confirmed that with the phone battery at about 40% and fast charging enabled, the power bank is unable to charge the phone (stops a couple of seconds after the screen goes off). I tried charging my Zenfone 2 with it (QC 2.0 compatible) and it fast charges properly. This suggests there is some problem with my phone (or the Le Max2 generally?) rather than the power bank

Not seen it, but I'd hazard a guess that our phone is not on the list? Anyway, I think the included LeEco charger (mine at least) has issues, and given the fast charging incompatability with my Aukey power bank, I am thinking the QC 3.0 charging on the phone is not following standards correctly. My after-market QC 2.0 charger, however, works flawlessly with the phone - so if buying after-market chargers or power banks I guess it is safer to stick to QC 2.0 certified ones instead of 3.0, or alternatively just stick to regular slow charging.

Unfortunately you are wrong. My phone Le 2 Max is certified QC 3.0 among very few devices. Majority is still QC 2.0.

Unfortunately, you are right, probably the phone only supports Quick charge 2.0, in web specifications I only found QC 2.0 support. But this don't explain this problem with stop charging when screen goes off
So, I have one Aukey charger compatible with 3.0 too, and I am waiting only my le max 2 arrive for test. In next 10 days I will back here and tell you what happened!

My wife's S6Edge+ had suddenly started to charge very slow with the original charger and cable. After reading on the specific forum, few others were complaining of the same and as a result, she changed the cable with an older Sony cable which worked perfectly. No mater what, the original cable was charging the phone slow if not fast charge which was fast as before.

Hello. I have the USB extension cable then USB meter, then USB cable. I use new USB bought on Ali. All the chain works OK with QC.

I have the problem with the power bank whether I use the cable that came with the phone or the cable that came with the power bank. Neither will charge the phone with quick charging enabled and the screen off.
The longer the cable, the less power will perform.. thats useally the case.
same with wire thickness in the cable, some of these extreme cheap cables on AliE got such crappy thinmetal-wires in the cable that it can not transfer all that power it should and will act like a bottleneck.
*the same with these intelligent powercables, that either cuts off when phone is filled, or show a sign like an light-diode in USB plug that are changing colors to tell that the battery is full. (close to all of such intelligent cables ewen some of the high qual-ones, are extrenely limited in power-drawing and most cant ewen manage 1.5amp in std 5v USB and most are under 1.0amp in the amount of power these cable can deliver, and often some plug-cirquit inside the cable there is limiting the amp quite a bit, and so the cable is able to sense when the battery if full and give signal.
Same with those cables where there is an ampmeter/voltmeter on the cable itself, those cables is also strugling to deliver more then +1amp.
that is all in regards tojust plain 5v and it just get ewen worse when trying to perfom quick-charge currents..
Not sure what cable your trying on, but if your going around the original, its good money to purchase an good plain QCvalid USBcable without features from an brand there is known for being able to deliver the power, the 18watt QC in theory can perform is quite a bit and need some metalwiring for the power to flow .
Not charging at all
Hi, I have a problem with charging my Lemax 2. I found similar issues described on other forums, even on youtube.
Long story short: it won't charge, LED blinks twice when on charger, then stops.. Tried different cgargers, cables- nothing works.
Any ideas?

last week i bought a Redmi 5 Plus 4gb/ 64gb Global then i tried to test charge time and quick charge.. 3-4 times with a qualcomm QC 3.0 charger and another QC 2.0 charger.. The results are similar: all about 2 hour.. the charge time with Xiaomi's own 2A Charger it take about 2 and half hour. i know its good but not so good.. By the way i notice that when test with QC3.0 charger it can not charge with 12V.. (i used a usb tester to see voltage and Current) i just saw 9.30v as max voltage. its behave look like QC2.0 not QC3.0

welll my new charger delivered me from china, so i tested it a few times. its better than my qc2.0 charger and my other qc3 car charger ( i think its not qc3.0 its just qc2.0 ) My new charger is not as good as expected.. charge time is an hour and 45 minutes. .. its mean 15 min better than qc.2.0 ... i saw 10.1v and 1,35 amp on my usb tester, it could be 12v... Anyway we can see that the phone supports qc 3.0 but not at all its need powerfull and good qualty QC3.0 charger, so if you want to buy a QC3 charger i I recommend that you need to research well.

PLease help! I am facing some battery calibration issues. The phone hardly charges up to 100% no matter how long you charge it. It just gets stuck at 96% or 97% and then the phone goes off at 19% on usage. I have tried different calibration apps to no avail. I even did a clean flash using the miflash tool, still no luck. Somebody help o

You are not alone. R5 plus and some another xiaomi device, sometimes we see this problem. And there is no software solution. Wipe, mi flash, battery calibrationi root... I tried everything but no luck.
Only solution is;
Remove the back cover (i did it, its not so difficult.)
Remove the battery connector plug
Wait a few seconds
Plug it back.
Thats done. Problem solved.

Actually I heard it's fine. I'm using quick charge 3.0. Redmi Note 5 AI/Global. Fully charges from 0 in 1hr 50 mins.

I have a 2gb version kenzo, i have used many roms and at the moment the best i can find for my device is the XIAOMI.eu MIUI 9. It doesn't crash all the time, specially on apps like snapchat, but there is a problem. It charges very very slow, like 400~ma at maximum, and it just stops charging after a while, and i have to unplug and plug the charger again. The battery doesnt get hot. I am using an official qualcomm quickcharger 3.0 with a good quality cable, and i can easily achieve 2500~ma acording to ampere while charging with roms like nitrogen os, lineage, RR, and with RADON 6.1 on this xiaomi.eu rom, but when i install Radon kernel my phone crashes a lot on some apps, and even scrolling through the menus. Is there any way to "fix" this with a flashable zip like with only the needed code, over the MIUI eu Rom to fix the charging issue?

U should connect ur phone directly to transformer if u want 100amps. It will charge ur device very quickly.
Now lets get serious. U saying u r using QC3 charger. And u get 2500ma. Before using i advise u to read specs of kenzo.
The device is made to take max current 2A. Its QC 1.0 compatible. It can take upto 5V2A safely. If u think by using QC charger it can support higher current and take less time then u r wrong. It may take high current but it just converting it into lot of heat. Its not helping. And just deterioting ur battery.
Dont use tweaked custom kernels and select higher current option for charging. There is safety diode on charging board which is meant to take max 5v and 2A. QC chargers are made to run in variable voltage. So if ur charger drawing more than 5v then ur diode will blow and prevent further charging to protect ur device. Min charging time for kenzo is 2hr 10 min. It cant be shortened more than this even if u go for high power.
I suggest u to stick to default charger which operates in 5v2A. Kenzo dont support qc2or qc3 and dont have components to take high voltage current. Many people have used QC charger and ended up in service center and replaced charging board.

Thank you for all the information. I have been using this charger for quite a lot, and o noticed that my battery life isnt as good as it was, but i still get like 7h of SOT which is note than enough for me. I dont know where i have my original charger anymore, but i will try to use it. I stopped using it simply because it has chinese plug and its kinda bulky to carry with the adapter.

I had qc3.0 charger by tronsmart. I threw it in river. My safety diode of 2 charging boards blown in a week coz of qc charger. Phone heated like furnace and It stopped charging in a week. So i read somewhere in a xda thread how to restore it. Then i opened phone and scratched and removed the diode from the board with tiny screwdriver. since then I am charging with stock charger again coz diode removed and device need safe and constant voltage. No problem since a year.
I think Only Redmi note 5 pro have Qc2.0 enabled in redmi note series. To charge a device with QC mechanism phone should have a set of charging components and cpu should support it. Our device CPU supports QC but dont have additional QC charging components.
Safety diode is meant to keep voltage constant and within limit below 5v for our device. Use of QC charger draws higher voltage and overheats the diode.
And if it crosses above 5.5 v then it short circuits the diode and the diode prevents further charging and finally stops the charging to protect the mainboard. If u want to save ur phone and battery for long term then use stock charger.
I am facing slow charging issues with QC 3.0 even after flashing Kernel (Radon Rebuild 6.3). I selected 2400 ma quick but even after that I get like 300~400 ma even lower then my stock which gives like 500~600 ma the thing I have noticed that when I plug my QC charger I get around 2000~1500 ma (voltage 4.0+) for like a min then it eventually falls to 300 with voltage around 3.6 v and never spikes up again
Should I replace my charging board or just my device is getting old?

It can be a problem related to overheat of charging ic. It happens to me when i use stock charger. At 5v 2ah, phone heats up to 45 celsius degrees. If i use fast charger, at 9.1v and 1.6 ah the phone is cooler and keeps charging at fast speed almost all the time. Depends on ehat temperature i have in room or where i place the phone during charging.

But for me the temp.. Never rises up it just maintains 35~37 c
Ok. Your problems seems to be with thermal libs. When you flash radon kernel choose "OLD THERMAL LIBS" in installation screen. If problem remain same then try Latest Agni kernel (which has updated thermal libs) and see problem is still there.
And BTW, Just giving you one suggestion. Never use QC 3.0, It will burn your USB Board specially zener diode. That will end up yo to replace whole USB Board and if you are lucky then you might find perfect replacement from market otherwise there are so many cheap parts available that has poor performance.
P.S- I have burnt my board by using QC 2.0 charger and now new USB board giving me network issues (no network or very less internet speed now). And here you are using QC 3.0 that is more dangerous. Use latest Agni, devs added security against QC chargers and it use max 2100-2200 ma current. (Believe me this is sufficient to quick charge your device)

If you ever get short-circuit, The first thing will be your device will stop charging. Also signs of short-circuit are connecting and disconnecting your device frequently, Whatever kernel or charger you use it always charge at very low speed. (these what I felt before my diode completely died)

Dont use QC 3.0 . kenzo has some board issues. Qc2 or Qc3 is backward compatible but incase of kenzo Board is not completely safe to regulate safe current.
If u use qc2 or Qc 3 . it will draw too high current and burn the zener diode and stop the charging.
If ur device is not charging or taking low current then that means zener diode is already burnt. So remove the diode and use only stock charger. And dont use 2400 amp option in custom kernels.

Why u removed both?
Only charging board diode needed to remove. After that dont use Qc3 to further harm mainboard diode.
But May be u kept on charging with QC3 even after both diode removed and damaged mainboard charging parts.
Try with many diffrent 2A usb cable. Stick with stock kernel. If still not charging then change pcb board.
I have seen many people complaining about their 27w Xiaomi charger with problem of not turbo charging, low charging current, overheat, dont work with 20w charger, and etc. And I one of the these guys too. I have ordered two times 27w loosepack charger from chinese online shop and all are fakes. They dont give me consistent turbo charging and dont charge faster than 18w! This pissed me off because there are so many loosepacks out there and the original ones comes from 20w wireless charging bundling box, from mi 9 chinese box, or from 27w charger with box packaging which none of that chinese online shop sell that, all only loosepack which high risk of counterfeits.
Yesterday I bought the 27w charger with box in my local online shop. The seller told me he got the charger from local store in china and bought it to my country. After the charger arrives i tested in and yeah finally I got the original one. I always get "charge turbo" whenever i charge and measurement in ampere App can reach 4800mA which I never get even 3000mA with 18w or that fake 27w one.
So I made a comparison video of those original vs fake charger. I hope it can help you guys who experienced same like me and want to find the original ones. Here is my youtube video link:

I got it from someone who bought it from chinese local store.
If you want get the original one, you need to buy charger with official packaging box. Can be a bundle with 20w wireless, or standalone with box like i bought, but its very rare.
Specifically: aliexpress. Search the shop and see the feedbacks. Look for shop which can provide 20w wireless bundling in one box

I bought that bundle like 20 days ago, it should aerrive by next week at max.
But i got the "traveler charger" (Xiaomi 1A1C) which comes with a Usb Type C and Normal USB port.
Hopefully it charges correctly i will let u know but for now the bad comments i have read just say that they cannont turbo charge using the type C Port.

Yes 30w if you use the type c connector or at least that what they claim.
But since max supported for our device is 27w it is kinda useless.
But nevertheless I will make sure to post here once I get it and try it

Nope, it wont work. 20W wireless is working only with MDY-10.
It is not true that the original is only in a transparent box. I got it without this transparent box and it works well.

Can your 30w charger turbo charge mi 9?
So, anyone has a link to a reliable and tested seller on aliexpress for the 27w charger?

I was convinced that mine was ok because I see "Charging Turbo" on the Mi9 every time I connect the charger. But looking to the charger details it actually matches the fake one you shown in your video. So I decided to perform some more tests.
- I tried to use a USB voltage/current meter but when I use it then I don't get "Charging Turbo" anymore, which means it blocks somehow some communication between the charger and the phone, could it be?
- in Ampere I can only get 2600mA, while using by cheap 2USD QC 3.0 charger I can get 3200mA;
- since this charger is effectively recognized by the phone with "Charging Turbo", I suppose the problem with the fake one is not the "protocol" or compatibility, but the amount of current it can send to the phone, what do you think?
The final test will be to perform a full charge with both my QC 3.0 and this one to see the difference.
My main concern now is: being a fake charger, is it safe to use it? may it damage the phone? What do you think?

I have got 27w+cable+20w wireless charger+eu plug, from that store and they came in one package. So i don't know if only the charger will be original. It was shipped ~10 days to Israel.

But did you actually measure the current with Ampere? In my case it seems I also have a fake one but I always get turbo charge mode as well. However when I measured the actual current in Ampere App I can see that the original 18w charger gives more current/power to the phone than the 27w one.
If possible use Ampere to measure if and report the results.

Just measure the charge time in my case if i remember right, 27w charges the phone ~1 hour and charger witch came with phone i didn't measure exactly but i think it something like 1 hour 40 minutes.
As for Ampere it shows ~1500 Ma and ~4.5v on 90% battery level on both chargers and both cables witch came with the chargers. And yes in Israel we have 220-240v power supply, don't remember exactly but i think it's same as Europe. For 5 minutes that i have checked the phone charged to 92% level

You should measure it when charge is still below 50%, after that charging current starts to drop.
It might be the case yours is a very good fake charger
I will also compare charging times with mine and the. post the results in a couple of days.

Phone showing charge turbo or not is not determined by the current. I have tested both mode in fake charger, the currents are almost same. It may be determined by that protocol or compatibility thing. When the cable is plugged in and your phone detects that charger is compatible, it will trigger turbo charging mode and allowing more currents to enter inside. But in fake chargers, although it have been already allowed, the charger hardware dont have capability to do that.
I can't test current using usb meter too because it caused the phone cant read the charger compatibility. So in the video i compare currents with app ampere. As long the voltage in app are about same, it can be compared.
About safe or not, i recommend you not to use it. The temperature in fake ones is noticeably higher when charging than the original, even the original has bigger output current.
