I'm member of AOKP team and I decided to share my personal builds of AOKP ROM called AOKPK.
AOKPK is unofficial AOKP ROM compiled with KECI-SM 4.8.4 toolchain (thanks to Paul Beeler and Chet Kener) and with some other stuff.
This ROM was created for my personal needs. If you don't like some major part of it, don't ask to change, just use official AOKP builds. But, If you have some tips for minor patches and features, you can ask for it. Just attach link to github/gerrit.
AOKPK uses my fork of franco.Kernel with latest linux patches and O3 optimized.
So, what is inside?
So, what is inside?
All official features from AOKP (https://github.com/AOKP, http://gerrit.sudoservers.com/#/q/status:merged,n,z)
Compiled using KECI-SM 4.8.4 toolchain (https://github.com/kecinzer/GCC-UBER)
Included forked franco.Kernel (https://github.com/kecinzer/francoKernel_OPO) in-line builded with some added stuff
Removed AOSP Calendar
Removed Camera2 & Gallery2 and replaced with CameraNext & GalleryNext
ART compatible
Many usefull cherry picks from AOKP gerrit (http://gerrit.sudoservers.com/#/q/status:open,n,z)
I compile ROM at daily basis so consider it as daily builds.
All builds are available on romhive (http://this-is.romhive.com).
I recommand TWRP Recovery and ROM Installer.
Please don't ask about changelog, because I adding cherry picks often and it's very hard to keep trail with it. But I'll try to make changelog for "stable" builds.
And please don't expect much of support, because as it's been told - this ROM is primary dedicated for my own needs.
Gapps
I use PA-pico (it's also on provided web page).
If you like my builds you can buy me a beer by "Donate to me" button .

Always happy to see new ROM for bacon!
Having a nice dual boot environment with Robbie's Slim and this ROM. Thanks for your work!
I was wondering when you'd show up with a thread! Loved your rom on Hammerhead, and was looking at your Bacon folder on goo. Thanks for making these available!
Thank you for support guys, I will make download page also available in english (when I have some time ).
i give it a try

Can you please be more specific? All custom features (most of them) are supposed to be in Rom Control, I don't want to move any settings to Stock android settings.
Awesome, will check it out.

When you open up your Settings at:
Settings/ROM Controll/Navigation Bar/(and lets say...doesnt really mather)Home/Longe Action
There you can see that there are many actions what you can choose.
Same thing is at Mahdi Rom. He has ton of Action-Key-Features in his Rom.
Now my question....is it possible that you maybe copy all the Key-Action-Settings from Mahdi Rom into the Hardware-Key-Actions?:
Settings/ROM Controll/Hardwarekeys/
Because there are missing many great features what i do miss from Mahdi Rom...if its possible and i know that you might not be reactive to my wishes but it would be a cool feature in your Rom
Ah, you mean add more actions or possibilities into HW buttons righ?
May be I look at it, by honestly I don't use this so much.

More actions would be cool, but I found a bug.. I had recents panel set to long press home, but it wouldn't open, double tap (didn't change it from long press yet) opened the recents...

Hi everyone.
I'm experimenting in last days with F2FS and make ROM usable on both ext4/f2fs FS and I succeeded .
You can expect new build that will be compatible with both settings of /system, /data, /cache - if you have format it as ext4, it will use and installs as ext4, but if you have it on F2FS, installer will install and use it as F2FS.
Please be patient to upload new build - I have problems with connection to my hosting, but working to fix it.
New build is up from yesterday. Any responses?
would be possible to add more date formatting (on clock) ? (as on liquidsmooth, carbonrom, slim...)
thanks!
BHH
It can be possible, but I'm afraid that I will never use it .

hi, so i came across these two links:

https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/8-0-0-lineageos-15-0-oreo-t3670377?nocache=1
so my question is this and hope i can get help on it:
i want to flash my le max 2 to either android 7 or 8, which third-party ROM (be it android 7 or 8) is the best and free of bugs?
which is pre-rooted? would love one that has been rooted before installing...if not yet rooted, hope it will be easy to root and help on rooting pls.
is the above link the best or any other suggestions and links...? :fingers-crossed:
would appreciate helpful links and comments
thanks

Here's a link to resurrection remix. It's pretty good. https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/x82x-resurrectionremix-m-v5-7-4-t3542355. Most N roms are stable. You have instructions how to install the rom and what gapps to use in the first post on the rom thread. It's also pre rooted.
For the future, when you want to install root just flash this: http://tiny.cc/latestmagisk
Heyyo, for the most stable Nougat ROM? I'd recommend OmniROM. It's not as bleeding edge in changes such as BlackX or Resurrection Remix but it is built for stability upon OmniROM and Darkobas kernel. Depending as well on the build of Resurrection Remix it could have battery drain issues as you'll see on and off in the thread.
OmniROM also has the advantage of signed builds by Google so they come with official SafetyNet Certification. No need of Magisk and Magisk module workarounds so things like fingerprint unlock with your banking app should work without issue unlike any other ROM I've tried with RBC app... That also means if the Le Max 2 had built in NFC that android pay would have worked without a hitch...
I believe the only other custom ROM with signed builds by Google for official SafetyNet Certification is Paranoid Android but sadly there isn't official builds for the Le Max 2 (yet). Maybe once GalacticSryder receives his Le Max 2 we will see that and built upon is custom kernel as well!
I tried porting it but I suck at it and failed haha oh well at least it turns out I'm good at vehicle repairs
If you want ROMs with as much optimization as possible? BlackX or Slimroms is what I'd recommend. Good device tree and vendor stacks and built with Blackscreen kernel for a good balance between performance and battery life.
Also, Resurrection Remix for Nougat has reached final versions so it won't be receiving updates. As far as I know for Nougat ROMs I think Slimroms and BlackX are the only ones receiving updates still as andr68rus and I believe the same with Shivatejapeddi have both changed focus to Oreo.

whoa, thanks alot for the detailed explanation.....
you really spoke highly of OmniROM (which i like) and you also said this: If you want ROMs with as much optimization as possible? BlackX or Slimroms is what I'd recommend
so which will you advise me to go for out of the three? plus which is pre-rooted or can be easily rooted?
i want to have a feel of a rooted device and see how it goes
would like to go for OmniROM (plus pls help me with links on how to get it) but let me have you final conclusion.

You're welcome
It's up to you which path you wish to go. As mentioned OmniROM is definitely the most stable ROM as it tends to not receive major changes as quickly as other ROMs.
The official signed builds are found here:
http://dl.omnirom.org/x2/
Any ROM is super easy to root. Only requires flashing Magisk via TWRP. I'd easily recommend it over any other form of root since it's fully open source software (FOSS) and the modules capabilities is amazing with stuff like Universal SafetyNet fix or other mods like enabling 60fps recording on the Google Camera Mod. I also really enjoy the ART Optimization mod for a little extra performance.
Magisk is found here on XDA and I'd recommend v14.3 right now because v14.0 stable has actually given me more grief heh
You can download and read up on Magisk right here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74158225&postcount=31
BlackX ROM is actually maintained by that other dude who posted here, KuranKaname and definitely has the most optimizations of the buch that I recommended. His builds are based on LineageOS with Blackscreen 3.6 kernel which is really nice. His ROM does require special Gapps which can be found in his thread with the ROM downloads as well.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/rom-blackx-unofficial-optimized-t3668458
Slimroms was the third I mentioned which is kind of is a balance between the stability of OmniROM but some of the optimization of BlackX.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/rom-blackx-unofficial-optimized-t3668458
Since there isn't any limit on ROMs to flash you can always try out a ROM for a few days and if it doesn't quite suit your needs you can try swapping to a different ROM to see how it feels. In the end only you will know which of the three I mentioned is to your liking the most.

Hello,
I have redmi note 4 3GB variant, rooted with miui 9.5.11.0
I wanted to try out a stable custom rom, I'm leaning towards resurrection rom and lineage os, can you guys tell me which versions of those are stable enough for me to try?
And, what is the most hassle free and simplest way to back up and restore data.
In other words, how to easily switch from stock rom to custom rom (or vice versa) without loosing user data?
Los is good but if u are fan of customisation Then RR is good also Aosp Extended is good option, u can restore your old backup and its very easy just make backup of your current rom and flash the custom rom.

It doesn't get more stable than LineageOS.
But the price you pay is that there aren't any customizations or features. Currently it's basically pure Android
I'm using Miracle droid for 6 months now since i dont need treble at the moment or until magisk has official treble support.

I prefer customization, not pure android.
At least for me, Miracle has better batter life. i love RR since Galaxy S2
oh by the way RR nougat is the best battery life so far.
I use RR Luis ROM, 5..8.5 version, which is for Nougat. Battery life is excellent, lots of customizations, and very stable.
Try the Lineage Extended by Alexey. Its not here in XDA, but search Alexey711 in androidfilehost. Thats the perefect version of Lineage based ROM I've found. Lots of customization plus regular updates.
Alexey build in lineage is the best , he update daily I think:silly: almost all customization in resurrection are available in it
If you want to try resurrection go for endless, his battery life is outstanding, he also update with useful features

Semi-GSI? what's that?
a semi-gsi (at least by my own definition) is a gsi built from source, with heavy patches intended for a specific device that wouldn't make the gsi necessarily as universal as a gsi should be. so in terms: don't flash this on other devices.
How does this differ from any other gsis out there/what are the features?
Well this includes a number of fixes including:
Dual speakers are working.
Ui lag is no more (at least 99.99%).
Aod is working/enabled.
Auto brightness is kinda working.
MTP is working
Other performance fixes and improvments.
What's working/not working?
First up:
Obviously Samsung's own features such as Samsung Pay, KNOX, Theme Center, Game Launcher, etc. won't be ported to LineageOS Pixel Experience. We may have our own implementation to similar functions, though.
Iris sensor does not work because AOSP upstream does not support that yet.
IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS PixelExperience.

2ndly the semi-gsi has a few quirks of it's own. Nothing major or worth noting but you should check the "anything else i should know?" part in the FAQ. hence why HWC is broken
Instructions:
Make sure TWRP has been installed and functional.
Download the latest build image and kernel linked below
Reboot to recovery
Wipe system, data and cache from the wipe menu
Select flash image in twrp, lower right side on the install menu
Flash the rom image as system (and gapps). DONT flash gapps. they are already included in the rom.
Flash the kernel image corresponding to your model as boot
Reboot and enjoy :victory:

You are more than welcome to provide any kind of feedback here.

Initial release Boi
Troubleshooting/FAQ:
Q:Can i use any other kernels with this gsi?
A:Nah, not really. I built this kernel specifically to work with this gsi and it includes a few major fixes (for example mtp won't work, major ui lag, no dual speakers etc if you switch to another kernel. But again. If you want to use other kernels, they should* boot. Endurance kernel even has my dual speaker patch and i confirm as working. But again expect bugs.
Q: Is there anything else i should know?
A: Ehhhhhhh, not really. I mean there are some stuff i'm really not proud of,for example to "fix" the ui lag i had to set the minimum gpu frequency to 455; this shouldn't create any issues(perhaps some battery drainage when screen is on) but afaik it doesn't impact sleep or anything else.
Q:Would this be preferred over a device specific rom?
A: Overall nah. The reason i didn't set on building device specific los16.....well actually i did and failed. But this is a pretty good placeholder until someone more skilled than me takes over and creates pie device trees.
Q: Safetynet doesn't pass?
A: Yeah, i guess that's a thing. Go into magisk and download some module called props hide or something. Don't forget to run it from terminal. It should work from there
Q: The rom isn't booting/camera doesn't work
A: Flash/make sure you have the BRI4 vendor, the linked kernel and try again.
Q: The rom is in a bootloop/google apps keep crashing
A: You did read the instructions and NOT flash any gapps riighhttt?? smh, wipe /system,/data and /cache and start over
Q: I have another bug; How can i tell it to you while slightly increasing my changes of it ever getting fixed.
A: You can tell me what's going on either here or on telegram WITH A LOGCAT attached(required);if rom isn't booting at all attach /proc/last_kmsg.
Q: I don't know what/how to logcat. Is it really necessary?
A: Logcat or gtfo
Q: How can i support you?
A: Awwww thanks; On most of my posts on the left side there's a "donate to me" paypal button; You can use that, donations are more than welcome, or if you don't have any $ to spare you can also post here about how awesome i am (this surprisingly helps very much)

Wonder if this Kernal image will work with other GSI roms to get them running as smooth as this rom.
Is it possible to add S Pen support in the future? I mean, that's one big reason why people buy the Note 9 rather than the S9+

Spen does work as a pointer and to tap and even draw..
The spen button does nothing though. And obviously, the spen settings and apps are all Samsung made so they won't be working here. Highly doubt Spen would work ever on aosp like stock due to Samsung apps incompatibility

Spen went work without Sammy's framework but there are plenty of apps on play store that offered similar effects to Sammy's own. I used them on my note tablet when I ran any other rom then sammy roms.
Yes! I've been waiting for this. Thank you so much. Flashing right now. Will report back!

Flashed it but no dual speaker or data. Do I flash the kernel to the system partition too? Doesn't say in FAQ?

I don't know what you mean by data but i do know the kernel is supposed to be flashed as boot
Problem with fingerprint here.
Only first touch for new finger is registered.
After that it's not working anymore.
Data as in mobile / cellular data as discussed in telegram.
For anyone who has no cellular manually add your APN info in network settings.
Fingerprint does work and adds, go to settings and add fingerprints the registration bit is a bit finnicky but it adds them and they work.
A theoretical question/crazy idea:
Will installing Magisk's xmlpak module enable us to download and use the Samsung camera and spen features in this mod? So we could get the super slow mo, etc, back? Thanks
I followed the instructions by flashing the proper kernel image without gapps, but still bootloops in the Google Screen.

No, there's no way to get these features to work in Aosp based roms.
Fingerprint is not working, too all other works fine thank you soooo much!

No, nur you can activate IT via ADB shell command
If I want to flash another rom after flashing this rom and kernel, can this kernel work well with other roms or should I flash another kernel instead?
My number 1 question is: does dual sim work?

Yes - Go into gestures in settings and enable the swipe up gesture. It's under Settings>System>Gestures

How to install.
You're likely to have to fully wipe and fully format the data partition again.
I have been using Open Gapps for testing (ARM64 pico variant)
If you don't follow the above I can't help you
What works
All of the main stuff.
Calls
Camera
GPS
Bluetooth
Wifi
NFC
What's still to do.
It's basically AOSP at the moment, there are no real customisations yet, they will come... but no ETA!
Gestures/Squeeze etc see above.
What doesn't work?
Probably lots of things I don't use... You tell me...
Changelog
Alpha 1
* Initial Release
Alpha 2
* Audio fixes
* USB tethering should work
* Started working over sepolicy
Alpha 3
* November security patch
* Selinux enforcing
* Probably other stuff...
Alpha 4
* December security patch
* fixed a couple of sepolicy denials (thanks The_Walking_Playground,ValKyre for testing)
Alpha 5
* Tweaked the auto brightness settigns (quicksettings bar should behave now)
* Disabled Interaction boost for now, there were some strange times it was sticking.
Alpha 6
Re-enabled interaction boost
Advanced reboot menu.
Alpha 7
January security patch
Switched to Tomascus's new kernel (non-EAS version)
Merged a big chunk of Tomascus's device tree changes. (see Here)
Alpha 8 *READ CAREFULLY*
Time has been short recently, so other than merging in the March security update basically all of the device updates and kernel updates are from Tomascus (unofficial lineage builds)
I had a strange issue dirty flashing this myself, It had been flashed over a couple of hundred times in testing... all of the settings categories were all jumbled up, no amount of clearing cache/deleting app data seemed to fix it. A clean flash did. It may have only been me, just be aware.
March security patch
Switched to Tomascus's EAS Kernel
Device tree updated with many of Tomascus's changes
Alpha 9
April security updates
Synced more stuff from Tomascus/updated kernel to latest see device tree etc.
Not sure if the settings issue going between alpha 6->7 is still there as I ended up wiping.

I'm running this, but obviously, use at your own risk... (I still recommend a backup before flashing new versions)
I’ll use this post to note the reported bugs.
It helps when reporting bugs to follow the Bug Reporting steps:
https://slimroms.org/#/support/report-bugs
Make sure you have properly installed ADB
Plug your device to your Computer
Open up a command prompt on your Computer
Type the following (without the quotes): “adb logcat -d > logcat.txt”

Either attach it to your post or report it via the above link.
1. Android Auto – Blank screen when unlocking. No audio. Possibly relates to reported issues with Google Play Services and seems to relate to Android P, not this specific build. Fix is said to be incoming.
2. Issues with SIM2 – Flinny only has a single sim device. Please report these issues with logcat so they can be looked into.
3. Brightness slider – Works from 50-100% Under 50 shows no difference. Can confirm this, but at 50% it is at its lowest.
4. OK Google – For me, and many others obviously, OK google does not work or is grayed out. I flashed this https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224414620 in TWRP and it is back to working.
5. 3.5mm adapter – It appears it may be a kernel issue and is being looked into. Works a few times then requires reboot to fix.
6. Random reboots – I have just noticed that if adaptive brightness is turned off, it will freeze randomly. Sometimes its within minutes, sometimes an hour. Ill gather a log or two when I can.
7. Audio issues - Seems to be a codec issue. I use vlc without issue. Seems streaming services work fine.

Needed a quick rebuild to change one last thing... the link will be in the 2nd post once I've tested it.
A build is up, see the 2nd post.
Works great, you are the best thanks
All the previous issues are fixed! Good job mate. I've been running it for a week and have not found anything rom related wrong. I am dual sim too.

The dark theme isnt working for me. Other than that this rom flies!
Everything seemed to be working but dark theme and WiFi calling is not working on T-Mobile. You can turn it on but it doesn't do anything. Pretty snappy though, look forward to trying this full time when WiFi calling is working, that is if it ever works. =) Great job @Flinny

It means slow charging?
Normal fast charging seems to work, Qualcomm quick charge on the other hand is the same as it was on my Oreo builds. HTC did something strange with it on stock...

What about volte ? Will later builds support volte?
Thanks for all your work.
The ROM feels great, but there's one problem:
The capacitive hardware navigation buttons won't react toward long press (including home button).
Which means I can't access Google assistant by home button, and can't split screen by recent button.
I'm using Buttons Remapper to solve it somehow.
