What to do if even factory rest can't help ? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After downloading a seemingly innocent .apk my phone gpt blocked by a message, which i only could get away by factory resetting. But after the factory reset, I noticed that my phone made strange things, like it turns off when it wants to, it got very hot and even the camery went on on it's own. So i decided to to the reset again. Now i can't get in at all, since my phone wants meto log in into my google account to restore, which i can't avoid, even though i just resetted everything. Bit when i try to log in, it tells my that my password got changed and that i have to wait for 24 h. And i'm getting this message everyday for a month. But the thing is that my password actually still is the same. When i try to log in with a different e-mail, i get an error message.
Can somebody please help me out ?
If more details needed, just ask.

Too Many Pattern Attempts

I think i already know the answer to this, but this is a last resort....
A co-worker brought me his son's (Sprint) Evo 4G LTE because his son inadvertently locked himself out of the phone. When you unlock the screen you are presented with a gmail account login screen that states "Too Many Pattern Attempts".
I have looked into this, and tried a few things but so far have been unsuccessful. It isn't really a problem to do a factory reset EXCEPT the kid has quite a few pictures he's taken on the phone and doesn't want to lose them. I read on the HTC website that you can factory reset without losing data on internal storage by selecting the right settings, but it is not specific when it comes to doing a reset from the recovery menu (or hboot menu... I'm very rusty on all this). I am assuming that this reset will in fact erase internal storage?
I can't access it via ADB, as I'm sure debugging would never have been selected, I have tried calling the phone and tried pulling down notification bar, getting into contacts, etc.... but everything takes me back to the login screen. My friend set up the account for his son, but can't remember what the user ID is that he created. I tried everything I could think of based on the possibilities he gave me, but no luck.
The devices drive shows up under Computer, but since the device is locked, clicking on it prompts me to insert disk into drive.
Does anyone know of any kind of "hack" that would either get me into the device or allow me to get the pictures from internal storage?
*Never mind - Problem Solved*
I didn't realize you could receive a phone call to get the code to find your username on gmail. I was able to retrieve the username this way (obviously couldn't get sms). For some reason google only sends SMS, no phone call, for password recovery, which I don't understand.... Anyway, my co-worker was finally able to figure which password was used once I got the username.
Thanks anyway.

Error, Unfortunately touchwiz home has stopped.

So after messing with this phone for the last few day I decided to do a full reset and wipe everything clean. I did so and after going through the set up process I couldn't get to the home screen. I just kept getting the error that touchwiz stopped. Luckily the restore loaded nova so I could get to the home screen to try and figure this out.
I tried everything from clearing data from the apps menu to booting into recovery and clearing cache. I Googled the error and found nothing I hadn't tried. I then did another master reset and it still won't load to touchwiz home.
Not sure what to do other than exchange the phone. Anyone have any idea?

Hey there,
I'm having the exact same issue and am BEYOND frustrated because usually I can find an answer on Google but it seems like no one seems to know what causes this, but many people have the problem. Did you happen to find a solution?
Brand new S6 Edge. Out of the box.
I've got this issue too.
Here's the steps I took.
No mobile connection as waiting for carrier to transfer account to new sim.
Connected to wifi.
Touched my S4 to the back to transfer accounts. Entered Samsung account details, requested restore.
Restore completes.
Set up finger print password.
Touchwiz has stopped error. Click OK. It repeats. again, and again.....
Power off, power on. Still get the touchwiz error.
Great out of the box experience. This is not good at all.
I don't know about the warranty in your country.
My advice is just reinstall the stock rom. It will clean all the problems.
My compromise so far...
The only way I've been able to use my phone so far in the last 12 hours since taking it out of the box is to set it up in "Easy Mode", which for a seasoned android user is not fun, but makes the phone usable. If not for that, I'm having the exact same problem with the error message and not being able to even get to my home page. Since turning my phone on I haven't seen my pages in standard mode yet. Hopefully I'll be able to contact someone today about this since I got the phone set up pretty late last night before noticing the error.

Please help me

My cousin just got here from Georgia today. So, my brother and she were playing around, and he somehow reset her phone to factory settings. When she went to sign it, it asked her for a location where she usually signed on. She entered her home city. It said it was incorrect, we kept trying. It then locked her account for 72 hours, and now her phone says she needs to sign in with a account that was previously on the device.
Maybe any Location Mocking App will solve her problem, not sure though.
Try googling for some apps like that and how to use them.

Nexus 9 - cant sign in after factory reset

Hey guys.
I own a N9, which I lent to a friend for a while. He logged in and used it as if it was his own for a while. He returned it to me on monday, and with him in tow, we tried to restore to factory settings - he mentioned that it was running a bit slow, which I though was just it being older now.
When we tried to factory restore from the OS, it just hung, and never actually reset (tried 3 times).
I then booted from recovery, and chose factory reset from there. Done.
However, when it finally booted into the OS, the set up wizard wanted the previous account, fine, no issues. we put 1 account and its password in, only to be presented with a 24 hour lockout (due to password change) - but we didnt change a password.... We left it for a couple of days (both busy) and we just tried it again, still saying 24 hour lockout.
What can we do now? I understand this being there as a deterrent from theft, but I am the actual rightful owner!
This is called an "FRP lock" that is on a majority a android device that is similar to that of an icloud. Good news, there is definitely a way to bypass it. Bad news, might be a pain in a**. So lets I guess start with getting some system information like, what version is it running? Can you boot into recovery fine? Can you access the accessibility setting somehow on the main welcoming screen?
