Microphone issues with Redmi Note 3 Pro - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hello, so I bought this phone with a broken screen and also was told the microphone sometimes does not work. I searched about it and seemed like its a software issue so figured once I fix it and install Lineage OS issue will be gone. Unfortunately it persists, and I noticed that by pressing hard it works. Close to ordering a new part with the microphone I noticed the small contacts under the board, bent those and it started to work, but only for a day, now not working again. I am not sure if a new board is gonna help, anyone else had the same issues, is it the microphone board or a problem in the mainboard or cables? I am close to stop throwing money on this and not getting it to work, already bought the screen and back cover.
Edit. I gave it another try, took it apart, brushed the contacts and rib cable contacts with alcohol, works very well again, time will tell for how long.
Edit2. Stopped working again, if I plug in the charger and move the cord a bit it starts to work, but every time I unplug stops working. Decided to put in the final 5€ for a new board and see if helps, fingers crossed..

Hey! So what happened after you changed the mic board, is it working fine?
P.S. sorry for replying to this 6 months late but I am also having the same problem with one of my phones.

[Q] Replaced HTC HD2 screen, Now no signal or sound

I just recently repaired the screen on my Htc HD2 and now its not detecting my cellular network or connecting to my wifi network. My sound has stopped working as well, but I still get sound if the headphones are connected. Any ideas on what could cause this. I have already taken it apart again and made sure that everything is connected correctly so I don't know what the problem is.
check if any of the connectors are broken and out back in the right place
Ive tried that and still having the issue
It's most definitely a bad connection. I had the same problem with Wifi after I replaced my screen. The antenna went loose when I put it back into the rubber case. Take the wires out again and make sure you "click" them back where they belong.
By the way, how was it with the volume button? I had to do it 3 times before I got it back and working...
I got it to go back on the first time

well try cleaning the part where you put the connections back, did you try flashing a new rom, that could be a problem too, tho i doubt it
little tip for the sound button,
ive had the same last week , was stressed because that's the only part that didnt fitted
i pressed everything in the cover but just half , then added the volume button from the outside
if you are replacing the screen you will know what i mean. sorry for the english
@brokendojca
i guess a connecter isnt fitted right or maybe something has broken
goodluck

Battery wont charge & no signal after usb flex change.

Replaced my flex today. Followed instructions on here for replacing the screen excepted I removed the usb flex. Placed everything back as it should be taking extra care. Now my phone doesn't charge at all. And now I cannot get any signal. I went out earlier and it sometimes picked up a signal and then it just dropped off again. Dunno what is causing this issue :/
Edit: Also getting no audio through my speaker.

Did you ever figure out a solution? I have the same problem where the loud speaker doesn't work after swapping the usb. Everything else seems to work fine however, I actually thought i had damaged the speaker somehow when replacing the usb so replaced that as well and still no luck.
I just replaced my USB flex cable for the second time. The first one that I bought it from on eBay sent me a non original. The reception was so bad I couldn't use my phone at all... I just got the new one on the mail today (also from eBay, but a different seller) and all the problems have been solved. 100% signal, no charging/mtp issues anymore. I'm one happy camper. If anyone wants the name of the seller PM me.

Headphone jack problem

Hello!
Half year ago I purchased my Z2 and after using it for a month some problems started happening with the jack plug. When I plugged in any headphones and started listening to music, it would stop if the jack got moved even by a tiny little bit, like if you put it in your pockets or just by rotating it with my hand very slightly.I took it to the local service centre and they replaced it.It was working fine until now and it started doing it again. My phone is fortunately waterproof, never had problem with that.I'll take it to the service again but do you have any idea how to prevent this next and what could cause this?
Thank you
Bad luck bro.No one from here complained about that kind of problem. From my experience the only problem i had with the jack was when i dived the phone in to water. After that the jack was not responsitive for like 2/3 hours.I dont know if there is some kind of protection preventing it from working so that the jack can dry in that time. After the 2/3 hours the thing was that when i plug the earphones in it the same problem like yours occured for like 1/2 hours.Sometimes it detected the earbuds, sometime it didnt. It constantly connected/disconnected them, but only for like half an hour or so,then it went back to normal working perfectly.
I got the same problem, and my girlfriend got it also since two weeks ago. I fixed it (actually not fixed it, but made it much less annoying) on my phone by blowing in my headphone jack. (It has nothing to do with water here, phone hasn't been in contact with water!!)

Wow! I remember trying this before but it never worked, now I got out all the dust with a chopstick and I blowed in it really hard and now it's working perfectly.Don't know how long this is gonna last but thank you!
I have sometimes fibre from jeans stuck in the headphone jack and have to use needle to take it out, otherwise headphones aren't detected at all. I almost had a heart attack that the phone is damaged, but it was just debris from a pocket..
You could also try enabling the Smart Connect - Music on the go such that it would auto play the music tracks that you have to mitigate the problem u are facing. Else, try to get a RMA

That wont solve it at all lol. It has nothing to do with software.
I had such a problems. I messed a bit with a screwdriver and I got it fixed, but DON'T do that if you have warranty. I was scared that I almost broke it forever back then but I somehow fixed it and never touched it again.
However, what you can do is to take a needle and on the bottom there might be some dirt from the pocket. Try to take it out.

It's most likely software issue. the proof is me. I had same problem. When my Z2 can detect the earphone, I tried to reboot it without unplugging the earphone. Guess what, the earphone is undetected after phone reboot. And unplugging / plugging it again did nothing. There's workaround though, my Xiaomi Piston had button on it, so I pressed the button while plugging the earphone (there're a lot of thread about it here). Then it worked, sound came to the earphone, but the buttons didn't worked (when it works normally, the button works). So I think it's most likely have something to do with the software. If it was hardware issue, then once the earphone detected, a reboot would still make it detected.
It never happened so far on the bundled noise cancellation earphone, always detected, spot on.

Replaced Power Button - Still Broken

Hey all,
I can't imagine I'm the only one trying to keep their G5 running since nothing on the market has a removable battery... Maybe you have an idea whats going on here.
Months ago my power button started to quit working. First it would require a lot of pressure to work, then the fingerprint sensor went out, then finally it woul dnot work at all.
I replaced mine with a new part off of amazon yet it is still very broken.
The power button once again requires a ton of pressure to work, and the fingerprint sensor isn't working at all (interestingly enough the option hasn't disappeared like it usually does).
I took the phone back apart and cleaned the contacts with a little rubbing alcohol. No improvement.
Any suggestions? Is it likely I got a bad part?
I replaced my button and like you it didn't work.. So I bought a whole back replacement for £5...the fingerprint is still hit or miss but I just use pin code.. Maybe it just needs a clean
I don't know from where you guys bought replacements but I bought my in UK from ebay a while ago and since I replaced it work like brand new. Power button working perfect also fingerprint scanner.
I bought mine from this seller. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LG-G5-Power-Button-Key-On-Off-Fingerprint-Sensor-Flex-GREY/143015995053?hash=item214c6ae6ad:g:dQAAAOSwx6pYsYov:rk:1f:0
I always seem to pich the dodgy sellers. lol, tbh it could of been the connection or something that was fauly who knows, but i paid like a quid more and got the whole back
I think it just the pins not touching the board. Try making the pins stick up a bit more.
or you could put a little bit of tape behind the small board with gold contact pads.

Mido microphone not functioning anymore.

Hello to the community, i have my mido for about 2,5 years with many drops due to my job. Suddenly someting strange happened: the screen goes black randomly and comes back! Oh sh*t.. my screen is almost dead!
I had a spare parts phone from a friend and i tried the other screen.. the same thing happened. So the motherboard has a broken soldering point or something.. I said ok, no problem i have the motherboard from the other phone so let's swap them. When everyting was done i flashed with EDL mode the last official rom and i was happy that i had my phone back until the first phone call.. Microphone was dead! When i switch to speaker i can only talk to the upper one microphone in order for the other to hear me. I tried from the service menu to check it but it was dead... I changed the charging board from the other phone, the same happened.. an other spare board i had also the same.. My next idea was to do the tests with the other "broken" motherboard while the screen was on.. everything was ok. Ok lets swaps also the flex ribbon between the 2 boards.. but NOTHING!
Because of the many swaps and tests i have broken partly the 3 screw joints of the motherboard to the battery side... they are all around the motherboard "ground" so i beleve there is no problem. Is that ok?
Any other ideas? Sorry for the long post but maybe the long story help you.
Thanks!
