Hi,
I've the Archos 70 8GB. I'm connected to a Wi-Fi network, but everytime, when I go into standby, the connection aborts. I've disabled the power saving mode, but there's no difference to the power saving mode. My firmware is 2.1.04.
Does anybody has the same problem? And is there a solution for it?

Thank you for the link, but all these apps don't work. The Wi-Fi symbol in the status bar is there for a second, when I wake up my Archos, but then, the connection is away again.
Do you have/had the problem, too? Does this problem maybe only exists on older devices (My board version is v6)?
edit: Do I need root for this?
Download Softlocker from the Google market.
Thank you, it works. But using this tool, the LED is always on.
But I think, that's the only possibility. When the LED is off, the Wlan always aborts. The Wlan settings have no reaction to the Wlan functionality.
Delete (forget) and re-add the access point and select the Disable Power Save check box. see if that works.

No, it doesn`t work. When the LED is off, Wi-Fi aborts everytime. The settings have no influence on this.
Do you have got an Archos tablet or the same problems?
Wi-Fi in Standby on Battery
Hi,
I have exactly the same issue with my A101IT. All the mentioned settings in this thread have no effect. I have tried it with 2.1.08 (Stock) and 2.1.04 (UrukDroid).
Am I'm wrong or is there no possibility to stay connected with Wi-Fi in Standby-Mode on Battery?
Edit: Power Save Mode in Wi-Fi settings did it. I only checked the connection from my PC with a ping to the tablet. Mails are received.
I have a Tasker profile set to enable wifi whenever my home access point is within range. The problem is that it doesn't enable wifi, even when the profile activates. When I unlock the phone and open the browser it uses the data connection, and doesn't enable wifi. Has anyone else had this problem with Tasker?
I also run Juice Defender (Ultimate). Could this be causing a problem with Tasker's control of wifi?
Could be, I also had this problem when using J.D. Since I stopped using it had no more probs and battery got better!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, if you have Tasker turning off Wifi, as in Disabling itself when out of range, than how will it be able to know you are in the vicinity of a hotspot to Enable itself? As in, its off, it can't detect wifi signals, so how can it know you are in the vicinity? You might be better off using a GPS option to enable Wifi.

Tasker will peroidically toggle wifi on to check if you are back in range of your access point. You can adjust the checking period within tasker.
Best to set the time to, say, 15 mins (set as 900 secs in the app).
Hey guys, I am using my S3 to USB tether to my computer, for two reason:
1. My wireless card is ****ting the bed
2. I get great speeds from it to the computer through my home wifi.
That being said, has anyone had experience with getting tasker to detect the usb charging state (i know how to get there), and then:
1. Unlock the screen
2. Open the settings menu for Wireless and Networks // or turn on USB tether?
The profile i tried says "Warning: Action USB Tether failed", but manually activating it works just fine.
Just curious, thanks!
Hello,
I'm wondering if someone know if its possible to exclude the Xperia WiFi (USB) connection from the stamina mode by adding an app in the exceptions. I don't seem to find the correct app.
Right now, when I'm connected wirelesssly to the computer and the screen turns off, the transfer hangs until I turn the screen on again. Adding the appropriate exception will solve that problem I suppose.
Thanks in advance.
i have the same problem
any ideas?

So you mean, you need to have the Stamina Mode on while your computer is connected to PC via USB, is that right?
Why would you need Stamina Mode then? Because your phone would be charging at the same time...
Hello. No I need the WiFi service that manages the connection. The phone has the ability to connect to the computer wirelessly as it would be connected through cable but it seemed stamina mode didnt like this. However after some search i noticed this was a pc companion/Windows/driver glitch so after pairing it again it seemed it fixed the issue. Thanks anyway.

Yeah I Have the same issue, tried MTP Extension Service (seemed to me the most logical of all processes there) and still when the screen goes off it cuts the connection.
Say I have a device that has an ip and it's own web server to make changes to the system etc etc. Now on my laptop I simply set my static ip to something similar (same subnet) and open a web page, insert the address and voila.
Now... I have a s20 ultra and USB hub with Ethernet port. I plug directly in, but after turning on Ethernet on my phone, a few seconds later it turns off. Can I achieve a similar thing as I did with my pc?
Connecting the phone this way to my home network allows it to be turned on.
Thanks!
Turn Wi-Fi off. If this doesn't help additionally set phone to AirPlane mode.

Thanks for the suggestion. Still it seems to simply try and then revert to off
