[Guide] [No Root] Xiaomi Mi 5 temporary yellowish screen fix - Xiaomi Mi 5 Guides, News, & Discussion

Many Mi 5 users with JDI display panle might have seen that the screen tone is warm compared to some other Xiaomi phones (3s prime). The screen stays yellowish no matter what color option you choose in display settings. Though the saturation of the display is good, but the white balance is bad in my opinion. I have found a way to slightly fix the warm tone with an app called "Screen Balance" which is available in Play Store for free. You can give it a try and see if it fixes your problem or not.
Here is the settings I am using for my Mi 5. Give it a try or calibrate in your own way.
Search in play store with the app name. It's easy to find. :fingers-crossed:

Nope.. It isn't consuming battery.. Using it for 3 days.. And it doesn't edit system file. Don't forget to lock it in recent apps.
Regarding Panel: Go to "About phone" and tap 5 times on 'kernel version".. It will enter into CIT.. Click on "Check version info".. From there, you can find your display info.

you can add a RenderFX from Cyanogen menu or via homescreen widget.
you can add a filter that reduces screen brightness.
predefined like dark red or dark green and others.

Yeap.
Go to: settings/cyanogen
mod settings /interface /notification power widget -------> add brightness widget, got it?
Then go to cyanogenmod/ display /automatic backlight --------->at light levels part press "use custom" then "set dim level" to 12 (on some roms lower is possible, but on minicm you'll get blank screen)
then you can adjust to ultra-low by pressing on brightness button (at notification bar)
# if this is hard for you or cyanogenmod settings doesn't include these options, so its better to use a screen filter app(like "lux auto brightness" app) as our friend said

Battery settings option gone in MM

Hi Ppl,
I just updated my Honor 7 to MM with EMUI 4.0 and there are too many little changes.
But most important is that the simple option of graph to check the battery usage i.e. which app / screen / process is using maximum battery is draining how much battery; its gone from the settings.
Now, we are supposed to take a lloooonnnnggg route for this basic need.
Use the app phone manager and follow a hell lot of steps to enter a screen which shows separate hardware and software usage.
Do you know any basic app that can help me here?
I want something like this which is no more available on EMUI 4.0

You can use a launcher like Nova and set up a shortcut to go straight to the battery setting.

Well, I'm saying that there is no battery option in settings. Hence, it's not about the launcher but the feature itself

In phonemanager goto settings (icon on top left corner) and select SHORTCUTS (first option). There you can create a desktop shortcut directly to the batterymanager on your homescreen

I'm saying that you can use a launcher to get to that screen. It still exists so you just need to create a shortcut to it.

Font/icons get blurry when scrolling

Cant believe that this is normal, but when I scroll, the font/icons become blurry. I googled about it and the only answer I found is, that old Amoled had this problem. But even my Galaxy S3 is crystal clear when scrolling. It's like a motion-blur effect in vertical direction when scrolling vertically.
Do you have this problem too? Actually it's one some of my old displays too, but I dont expect it on an IPS panel from 2016...
Try this
Settings/Developer Options/ Tick on "Force GPU Rendering" this should make your Android phone smoother/snappier!
If root available try L Speed/Entropy/fstrim apps found on Play Store!
LG G5 & LG V20 are snappy beasts and are well optimised with Snapdragon 820 and is better than Samsung.
Thanks for posting this standard answer again like you did before on another thread No this does not do anything, like I told you before. No it's not rooted, and trim does not affect how the display works. Are you even posting stuff you copy paste from somewhere else?

You see the double frames, in my oppinion the display just has not 60hz/fps or has horrible input lag / refresh timings.

White shade on notification area

I mostly use black wallpapers, and i noticed a kind of while gradient shade on the notification area, is there any way to disable it ? I attached a image, not quite visible in the image.

Yes... This is a tipical burn-it sintom... I suggest you an hard reset asap or better a clean flash...
It's not screen burn in.
If you pull down the quick settings panel just enough to cover part that has the it goes away. I don't know if there is some sort of offscreen padding that would fix it.
I've also read (don't recall where) that it could be light leak because of the way the display is designed for a device (ours in this case).
p.s: I'm no developer. Just a regular user like others here.

Yeah it's not screen burn, cause it would have been every where if it was a burn, but it only appears on the homescreen

Question Screen problem when unlocking with fingerprint

I've set up fingerprint app lock. In the unlock screen, the display appears bright on the right and black on the left. Until this morning, everything was always black on these screens. Now I don't know why it turns on the LEDs on the right. The photo exaggerates the effect but it is evident. By setting the brightness to the minimum everything is normal; Raising it a little, it begins to be noticed. This problem is present only on these screens (during the unlock of apps) and nowhere else. How can I fix it?
thank you

I tried to activate and deactivate it but nothing changes. I have also downloaded several apps to test the screen and trying with all types of lighting I don't have any problems. Could it be something related to the fingerprint reader?

Try unlocking with and without DC Dimming. It's in Developer Settings, see if anything changes
It may be a silly suggestion but make sure the lockscreen wallpaper is pure black
This is a common issue with most optical scanners. With somewhat grey background such as yours, the partial lighting up of the amoled can disclose all the uneven calibration. This can be minimised to a greater degree with software updates, like how Apple, Samsung or even Vivo did. In my GT2 Pro this issue is absent in general.
I contacted Realme support and they suggested I send it to the warranty repair center. Could they improve calibration or replace the entire display? Or is it useless to send him for assistance?
