i was wondering if ultra low brightness exist on android, and espescially to our device? if there's the ultra high, it might be also the ultra low, because in the Night i control my fb...and the lowest brightness, it is already high bright for eyes...so can i have ultra low? please reply..
you can add a RenderFX from Cyanogen menu or via homescreen widget.
you can add a filter that reduces screen brightness.
predefined like dark red or dark green and others.

Yeap.
Go to: settings/cyanogen
mod settings /interface /notification power widget -------> add brightness widget, got it?
Then go to cyanogenmod/ display /automatic backlight --------->at light levels part press "use custom" then "set dim level" to 12 (on some roms lower is possible, but on minicm you'll get blank screen)
then you can adjust to ultra-low by pressing on brightness button (at notification bar)
# if this is hard for you or cyanogenmod settings doesn't include these options, so its better to use a screen filter app(like "lux auto brightness" app) as our friend said

Often at night when I use phone lowest brightness is still bright so I found apps which can dim it further but then they loose screen contrast too making it difficult to read.
Is there any app which can make night mode of selected apps (browser/gtalk/gmail/other few user selectable apps) background dark & font light / white similar to youtube app?
UC browser had this night mode earlier but latest version they have removed this feature. Ideally such app should be time sensitive & as the night time approaches it should start applying the night mode.
This is what I am looking to achieve
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990102
or
like this in reverse it would save battery specially in night.

The closet App I can think of is CF.Lumen:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336643
It automatically changes the screen intensity/Colours according to the time of day. Brilliant app, and had actually improved my Sleep cycle.
Note : It's a addon for Chainfire 3D pro:
http://market.android.com/details?id=eu.chainfire.cf3d.pro
But the Free version has Render effects also, which also may help:
http://market.android.com/details?id=eu.chainfire.cf3d
Regards and good luck.
I looked at CF.Lumens but that does different colors in night mode not what I am looking for but thanks for finding it for me.
I wish some developers can work on this concept.
What about Lux Auto Brightness?

Same problem actually all apps adjust brightness "only" they don't adjust contrast which at low brightness is required to maintain good readability. I wish some one makes this app it should be simple to do so just by altering the color value as per user time table.
Me to .
My need is for an app or a MOD that wpuld provide me woth a button thatwould allow me tochangethecolors and cntrast and brightness of all the phone.
I will use it while using the phone in the bed.
Similar to what read view with night mode in dolphin browser.
I don't know those kind of apps but when I want to use my phone at night, I use an app called "Screen Filter".
I also use screen filter but it cannot function at low brightness of 20-30% the screen looses its contrast. The only solution to this problem is night mode which many gps app have it they reverse the diplay and increse visual contrast which helps alot in saving battery too. I hope some developer can work on this idea and make an app.
Bumping it up again after 6 months hoping some one knows any such app?

Window length - 5 or 10
Sample rate - 1s
Screen dim level - 10 or desired value; this value decides how low can the screen brightness can be set

But how can you put 20 000 like in the next number when it gives me max 900?
EDIT: Dont know why i have the feeling that using autobrightness battery life is worse, not using it with low level brightness battery life is better...
May be its only me or?

Help.
I am running the Remix OS on a usb stick, and tested on two different notebooks ( Acer Aspire E1-571 and Asus X550LN ). Both of them works very well, but only on the Acer the screen brightness works. There's any command or anything for I can change my brightness on the Asus notebook?
Thanks!
Same here with Vaio ..needs the quick settings in the notification panel.
I've found Settings>Accessibilty>Toggle High contrast text improves situation slightly. Though hardly a fix and is becoming nauseating.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.curvefish.widgets.brightnesslevel
QUICK FIX!
Use Fn+left or right key combination
In /system/build.prop change ro.remixos.box=true to false
Then you will get a brightness notification like the one in the picture. You can use that to switch brightness.

Many Mi 5 users with JDI display panle might have seen that the screen tone is warm compared to some other Xiaomi phones (3s prime). The screen stays yellowish no matter what color option you choose in display settings. Though the saturation of the display is good, but the white balance is bad in my opinion. I have found a way to slightly fix the warm tone with an app called "Screen Balance" which is available in Play Store for free. You can give it a try and see if it fixes your problem or not.
Here is the settings I am using for my Mi 5. Give it a try or calibrate in your own way.
Search in play store with the app name. It's easy to find. :fingers-crossed:

Nope.. It isn't consuming battery.. Using it for 3 days.. And it doesn't edit system file. Don't forget to lock it in recent apps.
Regarding Panel: Go to "About phone" and tap 5 times on 'kernel version".. It will enter into CIT.. Click on "Check version info".. From there, you can find your display info.
I mostly use black wallpapers, and i noticed a kind of while gradient shade on the notification area, is there any way to disable it ? I attached a image, not quite visible in the image.

Yes... This is a tipical burn-it sintom... I suggest you an hard reset asap or better a clean flash...
It's not screen burn in.
If you pull down the quick settings panel just enough to cover part that has the it goes away. I don't know if there is some sort of offscreen padding that would fix it.
I've also read (don't recall where) that it could be light leak because of the way the display is designed for a device (ours in this case).
p.s: I'm no developer. Just a regular user like others here.

Yeah it's not screen burn, cause it would have been every where if it was a burn, but it only appears on the homescreen

Ok...so my suggestion is flash latest stock firmware, do a clean installation. If you're phone have a software problem, this is the Better solution
