I'd suggest heading over to the S6 section. This is the S8 section and I doubt anyone will take the time to reply here.

busybox installer failed on my phone too...it froze it, but then my phone just restarted, so i uninstalled busybox installer and titanium backup, because they are worthless in my opinion. i did a nandriod backup after i rooted instead.
why would you try and do a restore if the backup didnt work to begin with? or maybe i'm misunderstanding something u said.
i didnt know the back up worked or not at the time. is it normal for a backup to not work? any way it doesnt matter luckily i had attn1's froyo rom so i flashed that and know im running that instead. Only problem is that I have tofind all my apps and widgets again in the market ...

[Q] Phone option missing

Hi yesterday i rooted my vibrant also installed one click lag fix, after reboot, i am missing the phone option (slient mode, data network mode, flight mode) when i hold the power button , the only option show (power off), also missing the screen lock when i press the button once, and home button not working.
Please help me with this
Thanks

nope not other rom install, all i did is the lag fix
should i just do a master reset without any rom install
That happen to me. Always do a backup before flashing. Also, make sure the backup took. Always keep atleast 2 or3 backups too. I learned a hard lesson not keeping more than one. Good luck

[Q] Phone unusable after removing bloatware

Brand new Samsung Galaxy Rugby from Rogers, rooted it and began removing bloatware via Titanium Backup. I backed up and uninstalled Samsung Home, then I uninstalled SNS 1.0 without backing up. One of these two are now causing my BRAND NEW phone to not boot up anymore. It just gets stuck at the Samsung loading screen.
I have gone into recovery mode and wiped data and factory reset, which will get me to the Android startup wizard, but after it's completed, it crashes and I get Android with no Home launcher. Completely unusable...
What can I do?! There doesn't seem to be any custom firmwares for this phone yet, so is there something generic I can use to put either stock Android on it or a custom ROM in place of this broken Samsung ROM?
I wish there was something I could do with the launcher backups in my TitaniumBackup folder on my SDcard. I *can* access that...
Thoughts? In desperate need of help...

Did you make a nandroid with cwm?
Or jump into cwm and reset to factory
Sent from my SGS 2 LTE running SkyICS
Try using Odin to restore stock firmware

No Nandroid backup. I know, I'm an idiot. The only thing I had installed on the phone after it was rooted was Superuser (obviously) and Titanium Backup. I can boot into recovery by holding Power+VolUp+Home buttons during power on, then letting go of the Power button after the Samsung Rugby screen disappears and reappears.
Resetting to factory in that mode (wiping /data) like I said before gets me back to the Android wizard like when you start your phone for the first time. I can complete the wizard but at the last step it crashes as it's trying to load the Samsung Home app which isn't there. Then I have no launcher, just a notification bar at the top (which I can use to turn on USB mounting). As soon as I reboot it though, it won't let me into the phone at all. Just gets stuck at the Samsung glowing loading animation.

Would LOVE to try this, but I after extensive googling (and XDA's search is temporarily down right now) I can't find a stock firmware for this phone. This is my best hope of fixing my phone right now!

"Process android.process.media has stopped" after JB update

Hey guys, I can't even use my phone after the official update of the Jelly Bean (via Kies). After booting, the phone freeze almost completely and pop-up this message. Any fix without reseting ? I tried cleaning the cache but the problem isn't fixed
If anybody had this issue, can give me an idea about how to fix it ? Thanks
Try clearing its data in app manager
Nop, can't find it. I tried cleaning most of data but nothing works :/ Damn...is Samsung able to do something without bugs ?
that's why no one uses kies
Factory reset or download an Odin version and flash with Odin

Yeah, I like to root, but not to change the rom Now I need to root again. At least the issues has been solved.
Fixing permissions usually solves that problem barring that a full wipe and start again.

As I got the official update, I lost the root, I tried to clear the cache and as I've seen that is not working and the phone was freezing each 5 seconds I got a bit scared to start rooting it. I wiped it, installed my apps and now everything is ok. However, it's weird that I didn't got the apps automatically installed like it's happened last time when Amazon replaced my S3 for some screen issues (some scratches inside the screen). I just added my google account and everything started installing automatically. Not this time...
just downloaded jelly bean tonight and having this issue. has anyone come up with a solution that does not involve a full hardware restart???
Had same problem after I updated 3 months ago. I think was an incompatibility with an app or something has not updated completely. Fixed it with factory reset.
You can backup apps with Samsung Kies I think if you don't want to lose progress in games, the other stuff is automatically synced

I'm afraid it'll probably have to be a full reset just make sure you've backed up.

Swift Installer & OTA

Het all, I've just found the swift installer and blacked out all of my GUI and apps like I love! I have a notification for an OTA today and wondering if anybody has any experience with the swift installer active on all modules and updating an OTA. Will it mess up the upgrade? Or do I have to uninstall all the modules first? Just did a backup and I will just go for it I guess.... Never had this customization app before... Just seeing if anyone has any experience with this scenario..

Depends on the update I guess. I had an OTA the other day, forgot to uninstall the overlays, the phone wouldn't boot past the Samsung screen. Had to factory reset. It's recommended to uninstall all overlays before updating.

Ugh, that sucks! Did you attempt to get into safe mode? I made a full smart switch backup and Samsung cloud backup to be safe, hoping if anything went Wong I could get into safe mode and restore....

There is a recovery.bat file you can run from your pc I found out later. It's available on the play store under Swift installer about section. Apparently this will work if you have usb debugging enabled.
It happened to me with the app "SETTINGS" it kept saying "Settings has stopped" and before doing a factory reset, I turned on the Safe mode and uninstalled the layovers. Then everything worked fine.
It is always recommended to uninstall all overlays before installing OTA update.. many times u will get force stop error..
It could cause bootloop, 3rd overlays are difficult to manage, anyway great app Swift Installer, It is perfect if we want different apps with amoled backgrounds ,besides without root.
Someone has proved the app with a custom theme like jajanken, I would like a mix between a custom theme and the potencial that brings Swift Theme. I suppose that is impossible, could cause many forced closes .
