Hi, download these files
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bx6VoaUTduGhbVhMRkpTR2E5cE0
install Samsung USB drivers to your PC if you dont have them
then go to download mode press your phone's power button then click on restart then click on download
it will put your phone in download mode, if you have custom rom with 5 way reboot, if not then use old button method to get into download mode.
use USB cable to attach phone to PC
then open Odin3 v3.10.7.exe file and use CP to add modem.bin it
then click on start, it should say pass and restart the phone, that should put the newest baseband, please let me know if you need any help. Thanks
Which ROMs should this kernel be used with? Only those based on stock 6.01?
Ok I had quite the time when I tried to use Flashfire to update OTA it broke my modem and boot. I had to use the recovery files and go back to 5.1.1 with the 4 recovery files in Odin3. After recovery I then restored the rooted stock ROM and flashed the modem for G900TUVS1FOL1 as TWRP could not restore the modem at all said it was read only
Wow! This update sucks! It breaks external SD storage and the phone is overheating to the point that it about burns my fingers. I am going back! Be smart STAY AWAY from this **** update! It will destroy your phone seems S5 can not handle it properly. I even did a factory wipe and no go.

most of the ROM out there using SU if you want to use Magsik then you have to use stock image for Magisk to install properly.

Samsung Galaxy 5 from T-Mobile as shown here.
I have gone back to 5.1.1 and waiting for the release of Oneplus 6T phone now as I am sick of Samsung BS with Knox and voiding warranty if rooting phone. Do not need to worry about that with Oneplus.

Completely broke my phone.. forget it.. 5+ sucks on S5 and I have gone back to the damn Kitkat that works! This phone can't handle ****ing 5+ worth ****! And the rom you pointed to me is damn 6.0.1 which is even more broken.. Not only that it broke all my apps on SDcard so now I have to start all over.. This was a horrible recommendation!

I figured I'd put a link to to TWRP 2.7.1.0. since I didn't see it in any of our threads . ( If I missed it and it is in another thread then Im sure Ill hear about it) . Flash this in Odin in the AP Slot and make sure the Re-Partition is (NOT) checked .
Here it is . Ill put up 2 links now just incase one don't work. Also you can use the TWRP app from the play store but I prefer Odin . EDIT: if you dont know what a custom recovery is then this is not for you .

What is a custom recovery for? I installed and triped knox. I thought with an unlocked bootloader you never have to worry about a custom recovery. Just use mobile odin pro to flash any custom rom of your choice?

So when you hold volume up + home button and power on the phone it boots into stock recovery not TWRP? I know for flashing modems you have to pull the battery for 5 or 10 seconds then put it back in and then use odin. I guess try pulling the battery for 5 or 10 seconds then put it back in and try again.. That is the only solution i have for you and it will probably work. Or you can try using this tool kit but it does the same thing ,it just does it automaticly .But try the battery pull first and if that dont work use this

Yeah let me know if that worked . Mine came with NCH . I actually rooted it while i was still in the tmobile store buying it . I had Towel Root on my SD. The sales guy at T-Mobile was trying to tell me there is no root method for my phone when i got it . Before the purchase was final i was rooted . The sales people all think they know everything about phones but in reality the only solution they have to most problems is to do a factory reset.LOL...........Good Luck
For those of you having problems flashing TWRP: download Flashify from the play store and flash TWRP from there. I've never used ODIN or a PC to flash a recovery. I just use Flashify. Works like a charm.

I just flashed Twrp via odin on my PC with NG3 and it worked fine .. I am the complete opposite . I have never had any problems flashing a recovery with Odin on PC . The person that posted above said TWRP wasnt sticking because he was on the latest stock firmware but he must be doing something wrong cause it worked just fine for me . I always thought and still do think flashing with Odin on my PC has been safer than flashing with an app . Out of the 900 and something people that viewed this thread only one posted about having problems with it . Im guessing user error

All i know is USb debugging needs to be enabled . There is no way anything was patched that would stop you from being able to flash a recovery. The boot loader would have to be locked . Go back to NCH and try towel root . I hate to say this but it has to be something you are doing wrong brcause i updated to the latest firmware already and flashed a recovery . Samsung can only patch thing to work on the firmware you are running .For example if you are on ne6 and something was patched on it then that patch wouldnt be relavant when you change firmwares . Unless it was a BootLoader . I would double check usb debug is enabled then reflash TWRP . Maybe re download the twrp and try it again . I have 2.7.0.1 up . If you already have that one try 2.7.0.0 . After you flash TWRP and try to boot into recovery what does it do? Does it boot into stock recovery?
I saw alot of people asking about these, so I've repacked the stock Modem, Bootloader, Kernel and Recovery from the full .tar separately as Odin flashable .tar's for anyone who needs them. And also created a recovery flashable stock kernel.

Thanks so much for posting these. I upgraded modem, bootloader and kernel no problem.
Stock kernel seems to work better than the ktoonsez one (for me at least), but i don't think I can get SElinux to be permissive on the stock kernel (doesn't seem to stick when I use SElinux mode changer app), which in turn seems to mean I can't use Viper...so I flashed back ktoonsez kernel since I can't live without Viper
Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong...I know this isn't a Viper thread, but I'm pretty sure I read over there that SElinux permissive was a must for Viper to work, so if stock kernel doesn't allow for that, then my next thought is it possible to have stock kernel that's SElinux permissive?
How did you guys install the stock kernel? I used odin, wiped cache, and all I get is the initial Galaxy S5 Power By Android logo and it never goes past this.
did you try pulling the battery before you start the phone up on download mode? I always have to do that first and the always works for me.

As cyhamada says above, you sometimes have to pull the battery before going into Download mode. Also, try a different version of Odin. With Odin 3.09 flashing the full .tar results with my phone sitting on the boot logo.
Updated Bootloader/Modem, yet my Baseband hasn't changed from NK2, shouldn't it change to the OB1?
I'm running CM12, boots fine, LTE signal's been junk since upgrading to NK2 and was hoping this new modem would have some corrections. (Phoenix, AZ)

You have to be on stock for it to stick, and sometimes it will take a couple tries of lashing it even then, usually the best way is to pull battery and then boot into download.

Here's what I would do if I were in your situation. Grab the full OB1 .tar and Odin 3.07 along with TWRP. I would: Odin TWRP>Do a factory reset>Pull battery>Boot into Download mode>Flash OB1>Let it sit for about 20 min. If you have adb set up on your computer I would also do "adb logcat" to see what exactly is going on. Although I don't recall if it'll pickup after a factory reset, I just do it so often on mine I never pay attention.
If that failed I would Odin TWRP and grab one of the Lollipop roms and flash that.
i managed to get the OF6 sprint full rom file through kies.
this is only to be flashed using odin in the ap slot.
you will probably lose root and your custom recovery.
you may be able to root it and restore the data . That up to you to try.
This is the Sprint version Only!
here is the link: if someone wants to provide a mirror that would be appreciated.
Disabling 'Reactivation Lock' from 'Security' in the settings allowed me to root and add a custom recovery (TWRP).

no you dont have to update and no it isnt necessary. but if you are on stock OA6 I would take to guess that this rom is 5 months newer with improvements in alot of areas. they claim its for factory reset protection (so someone cant steal your phone and just factory reset it and it theirs now) and for reactivation protection (same thing so noone can reactivate the phone and make it theirs)
if i was on straight stock i would update. if i was on a stock rooted i would either try and root it or wait for someone to root the tar file and make it flashable through recovery.
thats my take on it.
cool... thanks. I like the security features, but at the same time I may wait till the new Moar comes out to do the work.

Yes. In fact, I did a full rom install, with nand erase all (after a bad flash), and I still went back to OA6 and OD3 stock deodexed roms.
Flashing TWRP from Odin works fine after flashing OF6 or OD3. I also used the CF one click root method, and that also worked for me.
Everything I did was in Odin 3.10.6.
Chainfires auto root makes odin complains about the recovery and shows 'fuse>3', which (I assume) means I've already burnt thru three of the 400+ fuses in the phone (kernel, recovery and probably rooting). I've tried odin 3.10.6 and the version that comes with chainfires auto root. Towelroot v3 says my phone isn't supported, even when using the command mod options.
I'll boot back into Windowz and try this a few more times. I don't see/know how joshdv rooted his phone...
edit: let's add insult to injury. I can't downgrade the firmware/OS to OA6, says it fails OS version.

@joshdv
Maybe it would help if you posted the link to the autoroot tar and any special steps you took to get it working.

Ya, before I flashed this, I knew I was probably stuck with OF6 and that there currently wasn't a reliable method to get root. Now, it's a waiting game to see if someone comes up with a method/hack to root this. GooooOOOOO CHAINFIRE!!!

Depends how long you're willing to wait and if you want to keep the warranty bit untripped.
If it doesn't matter, you can still flash custom recovery in odin and any one of the pre-rooted custom or stock roms that will run on the lollipop bootloader.
I got root by just installing custom recovery and flashing super su. zip

Link for Super user zip???
Made this for myself, and noticed other people wanting it. If you are in anyway unsure of what your doing, please don't flash Odin packages. I'm not on here all that often to answer questions, so please refer to aaricchavez's thread as I'm sure the same questions will be asked.
I was able to flash by pulling the battery, then vol-dwn + home + pwr. Choose vol-up for downloader and flash. Worked on the second try. See screenshots bellow.
What you do to your phones on you, consider this: Warning flashing Bootloader/Modem/ FULL FIRMWARE LOLLIPOP
Updates seem to work best after a shutdown and battery pull. If camera stops working, clear your caches and reboot.
Flashable in Odin:
Bootloader/BL:
FOL1 Bootloader
FOL1 Bootloader
Phone/CP:
FOL1 Modem
FOL1 Modem
TWRP Recovery:
Recovery
My Customized Recovery:
2.8.7.0 Recovery
I have tried numerous times to install bootloader but it stays on dob1. I got the modem just fine. Don't understand why

I've tried updating my bootloader& modem as well as the firmware in Odin 3.09 & 3.10 & all it keeps doing is failing can someone PLZ help
The only way I've been able to flash the last few modems and bootloaders is by pulling the battery, and even then It may take a few times. DOB1 took me 4 or 5 times.
And if your wondering, the modems a huge improvement. At least for me anyways. I'm up in the hills of the SF east bay and got very spotty LTE before, no longer an issue.
Could I use flashfire to flash the boot and modem?
Edit, I know it's possible to flash full firmwares but not sure about boot and modem

Can I flash just the modem if I'm already rooted using a CM12 ROM (Temasek unofficial)?
Does flashing a full stock ROM immediately update the bootloader and modem?

Yup. On rare occasion partitions respond in strange ways to odin flashing, ie. partitions other than what you're flashing become unwriteable. But for the most part that's a rarity.

Depends on your existing version, and the version your upgrading to, but with rare exception yes.

As of 10/10/15 FOG6 is, I just uploaded.
thanks for this. just realized today there was an update.. only a one letter difference, took a while to realize it!
can someone upload the new one?
Just wanted to add this. Was having a hard time flashing BL and CP
1. removed the sd card (tmobile thing I read somewhere)
2. took off the md5 off the file name so it was just a .tar file
3. put both files in to oden 3.11 and on the first flash had auto reboot NOT checked, then pulled the USB cable and pulled Battery.
4. then booted to download mode with cable in and and battery in and reflashed with auto reboot checked.
I installed omega rom v20 and I had a bootloop because I didnt have a 6.x.x bootloader and modem.
I came from 4.x.x and I almost just installed a stock 6.x.x to get the updated BL and CP, then root that.
I have had good luck with omega, but I use TB to clean out all the Samsung stuff. I purchased the App for $7, worth every penny.
I installed OZCAN ROM on my galaxy alpha, i followed all the steps using twrp and all, and when i was installing the system from the .zip file, it seems it all goes smooth but suddenly when it ends installing and needs to restart it will "die" in the samsung galaxy alpha startup screen, i won't even switch off by pressing the right side button, the only way to shut it down is by removing its memory.
I still however can restart and boot to twrp by pressing volume up - power - menu button, i will wipe all the data and reinstall the system with the same result... what can i do??

That was the mistake, when going from kitkat to lolipop yoy need to flash stock one first then custom ones. It has a problem with the bootloader if you skip a normal switch between them.

What can i do now in order to solve it?

I will release the 5.1.1 version. I wanted to release 5.0.2 but not this time, I want to release 5.1.1. So patience is a virtue.
