Guys, I just bought a amazfit pace about 2 days ago, overall its a good smartwatch for the price but there is something that i just cant get it to work.
When someone calls me, it doesnt show their name, only the number.
PS: I have all the notifications and security permissions allowed.
Anyone has a similar problem?

The number must use the international format (for example +385 99 2233 444).

thanks man, just tried changing a couple of contacts and trying it out, still the same x/.
On the phone it shows fine, but the watch doesn't/

I don't know them what could be the problem. I have all the numbers in the international format and I get contact names on the watch.

I'm on pacefied and I seem to have the opposite problem: if I add the international code it DOESN'T show on my phone. Numbers without the international code will show on the watch. I'm in the UK.

On Android 7, granting Contacts permission appears to not work - the app is never happy that it has the permission. Checking in Android settings that it has the correct permission gives a warning that the app was designed for a previous version of Android. I suspect it's a bug that will need a software fix (would guess that Google have changed how that permission is given in Nougat). Changing the format of your phone numbers won't, as you've seen, help.
Actually, SMS seems to display the correct contact info for me, so there may be something else going on.
Anyone found a fix yet??
What about if I install PACEfit? will it work? I have the latest firmware verision though....
1.3.3.a Im and concerned that if I try to install the custom ROM it might brick the device.
Anyone else from Brazil that might be able to help? (some cities have an extra 9 on the mobile phones, maybe it has something to do with that)

As it was said countless times before, if you have stock 1.3.3a ROM, your bootloader is locked and you can't install PACEfied (for now).

I was just asking for an alternative, don't need to install PACEfied, I just wanna se the names of the contacts when they call me.

i dont know if ur phone is different setting, but i notice my amazfit pace will display caller name if i put number with country code at my phone contact list.
.for example my international country code Malaysia is +60 ,
if i put my wife phone number 019-9999 999 on my phone
The amazfit watch will display +6019-9999 999
if i put my wife phone number +6019-9999 999
the amazfit watch will display callers name

From Android 7 and up, the contacts id isn't fetched the same way (as I've noticed from some apps).
Not sure how this is going to be fixed, but I think we need to report a bug @ Huami.

The issue for me is that I have my numbers stored in international format, but when I receive a call, the incoming number doesn't have the international dialling code in it.
Therefore when the amazfit app takes this incoming number and does a lookup on the contacts, it will not find any matching that number (it must do some sort of strict exact match instead of a fuzzier search)
I've found a workaround with a third party app, but can't find the option to disable it for the official one. Even if I press disable push notifications, it still pushes the call to the watch...
How to do it ?

I want to use whatsapp on my Galaxy player, but i'm unable to do so. I've downloaded it from the whatsapp site and from 4shared, but when I install the app and try to accept the terms and conditions, the following occurs:

But I don't get it, because my friend has a tablet and he is able to use whatsapp, even though he doesn't have a phone number or a prepaid card in it.

I think you have to have a phone#, unless it will work with a Google Voice#. I can't see paying $2/yr for something you can just use GV for (although it does look like it does a lot more). From their site:

I have been investigating this matter and this app has the same problem as the XDA App(free version) and Tap Tap Revenge 4. I have created a hack that makes these apps work and I have released a beta of my next rom "Foreigner R5" that has the patch applied. However, this app will not function on the beta for other reasons. When foreigner R5 moves passed beta, this app will work.

first, i wanna say THANK YOU to Meticulus for a fabulous rom. I am using it to my complete satisfaction. Thanks again.
second, i can prove that Viber works on beta R5 so i think half your whatsapp issue is solved, Rapydax. Until R5 comes out, u can use beta R5 with viber - message your buddies and all that + free calls worldwide.
third, google voice isnt available outside US yet.
and omg, fourth, keep an eye on R5 and trust Meticulus.
I will try the R5 as soon as it is finished.
Google is going to start charging to use their calling service next year. :'( So 2 bucks a year for whatsapp!!! I am going to get that. Also Groove IP is nice and Google Voice just got an update, and now you can call people from the Google Voice app. as well. ^^^Meticulus's Foreigner ROM^^^ is also BEAST!!! So if you are thinking about it, don't worry about it not working. Hope all goes well.

Also, Google Voice is for US only and I live in Europe. Hope they make it able for Europeans to make use of it.

I was not very clear. Google is going to start charging next year for their calling service, as of now it is free. Whatsapp is only 2 dollars a year, so I am now going to get Whatsapp. I am sure Google will expand to Europe. Just give it time.

Does Whatsapp let you make/receive calls? I thought it was only texting.
GV has been saying it's going to start charging "next year" for a few years now... if they do I'm sure it will be very cheap, and hopefully they won't start until all the bugs are worked out, and other countries can participate.

I installed the R5 ROM of Meticulus and whatsapp works very nice. First it could not send an sms to my phone, but the i hosse the call option for the verification.

I'm a few days away from my OGWhatsapp app expiring and am desperate to find an alternative as I travel constantly between countries and having two active whatsapp accounts on my phone is an invaluable part of my life.
I've stumbled across some alternatives from this site:

It's base on Ogwhatsapp mode last version. But it's still working. It's modified in order to not to be detected by the expiration of the 472 whatsapp server base.
Thanks MuD-GMZ. That seems to work well. Only thing is that I have to switch between the two accounts manually to see if i've received messages. A little bit annoying.
ppsa, is xxWhatsapp safe? I get the same pre-installation access warnings as SAWhatsapp and ENWhatsapp. What particularly worries me is the access the app has to sending and receiving SMS's (see attached screenshot). Not sure this if this normal though considering that I guess the app needs a whatsapp verification code via sms to activate it.
What do you think?

Exactly. That's why I want to know if any of the other unofficial whatsapps are safe so that i can have two whatsapps active at the same time
In the end I tried ENWhatsapp + other variants and none of them seem to work. I get an error during the installation process that oddly states that '"the app expired on May 18th 2060"!!

I have an issue when trying to sync my UK (PLK-L01 running B140, not rooted) to my BMW Professional BT system. It seems to only load the first contact from my phone and then shows a load of garbled text as another contact. I can still make and receive calls fine. I've tried unpairing and repairing the phone, also my contacts are stored on my gmail account and not on the SIM card.
I've also not had this issue with any of my previous Android phones (Moto G, Nexus 5, WileyFox) so I assume that it must be an issue with the Honor itself.
Has anyone else seen this issue or have any idea what to do to fix it?

My HU (JVC) displays last name first which is annoying, although I´ve not wasted any time looking into it.
Do you have contacts presented in the same manner in all your phones? Do you have that behavior in call logs, contact list and searching for a specific contact in the HU?
One thing I know from my experience (Samsung, HTC): old HU dont get along quite well with newer Android releases.

Thanks for your response, yes I probably should be on B180 but I haven't received any OTA updates, however I'll try updating manually and will see if that fixes the issue. In answer to your questions, yes my contacts are setup the same in this phone as they were in my previous ones. In the call logs on the HU I just see the numbers of the people that I have dialed and not their names, also there is no option to search for a contact in my HU.

Just an update on this, it seems that this issue is now resolved following the install of MM.
I have recently updated to Marshmallow... Now with bluetooth in my BMW 2009 I can't see contacts in my car..only the first appears!!! ....
Works only the vivavoice if I make calls manually with the phone or in receive....

Samsung’s TouchWiz, has an option to add a message alert to contacts, i.e. “Add another field >message alert”. However, Emotion has no such option. The facility to add a specific message alert to a contact doesn't exist with EMUI.
If this can't be done via the OS can anyone recommend an app (other than Ringo which doesn't work) which can allow specific alerts/message tones to be allocated to individual contacts?

Sadly could not find such an option in EMUI. you can give RINGO a try. It is available in the play store and the free version will meet your needs.

Thanks, but as I mentioned I tried Ringo and it doesn't work with EMUI. Ringo requires the stock SMS alert to be silenced, so in fact I then get NO alerts at all: it's as if EMUI isn't aware of Ringo. I've used Ringo before with other Android devices and it's great, even the free version, but it doesn't function with EMUI.
I knew I was taking a gamble buying a lesser-known brand (were this an Samsung problem there'd be petabytes of online answers to this issue...). Shame, as I love the phone for many reasons - looks like I'll have to revert to Samsung if no-one can help. :crying:

Another idea is to use some other messaging app like go message etc. They might have this option.

I can't believe I'm the only Honor 7 owner to feel this an an issue that Huawei needs to looks at...
But you mentioned "go message"? What's the formal name of this app please? I can't find it on the Play Store (only "Go SMS", an app that enables SMS's to be sent via PC)

Yeah, it was GO SMS but I checked it out along with other contact apps but it comes down to emui not assigning a custom notification tone for a contact... I am out of ideas, someone else might have a few for you...

I agree, Mike, this is a feature I had taken for granted with having used Samsungs. Very convenient and I wish it were possible with the 7x

i'm facing a strange issue since 4.2.3 firmware (same with 4.2.4):
the workout report on the wtch is good (altitude is ok) but on amazfit app it begins at -20000m for 20/30 secondes then a drop to the good one after.
check my picture it is unreadable.
sometime the preview is good but if i click on + to get details i have the same begin at -20000m for 20s.
do you have the same?
i also noticed during a workout if the watch is unlocked i have an altitude (230m for ex) then when the screen locks i have another one (240m) then if i unlock the watch again it's back to 230m... there's always differences depending on the screen state
the report on the watch is good. Only in amazApp seems faulty (for Altitude) all other logs are OK but i can not decripte my workout altitude...

I also notice the wrong value only happens sometimes and depending with the sport I did on my watch.

yeah but there's another bug: on your watch the elevation is begin at 16m up to 24m and ends at 2...
on strava/endomondo/amazapp the highest is 2m and lowest -17m ?????? and you begin at -5 m?
i have the exactly the same differences between wath the watch says and what is synched.... (anyway data of the watch are always good)

Yes I didn't pay attention to the actual numbers. There is indeed a constant shift in the exported values. The height values from the watch look more correct as there is only one area below sea level in town and I didn't run there

I have exactly the same bug on my Stratos 3. I have been able to compare and :
> Datas shown on the watch during the activity are OK
> Datas shown on the watch report (after activity) are OK
> Datas on the Amazfit App are wrong : Elevation is different from the watch (usually lower than the reality, compared with a "level line map"), and I have the "-20000" problem on the graph
> Datas exported to Strava are wrong
I send almost everyday the reports to Amazfit using the app, I hope they will fix this very annoying issue !
I need to try in the Ultra Mode to be able to compare. However accuracy of the GPS will be much less (1 point per minute vs 1 point per second using normal mode)

Thanks Winni21, however I haven't unlocked Bootloader on my watch, and I'm a bit afraid to do so regarding the warranty. Nevertheless, this ROM looks much more complete than the one we have !
Are you thinking about trying to install it ?

It seems we're going to have a new global fw soon.

Yes, the bug is still there as of now. Really annoying bug that exists for months.
