Hi
I dissassembled my g5 a few days ago for observ the warming location. then. while I am trying to put battery and bottom part. I broke the motherboard plug pin piece. two pins. its antenna connection. I dig into this with my bad soldering iron. I ruined some ways and some smd cap. Now can you explain it from the picture. could we make new ways and could we put the smd s on its places or new places. I cant find the schematic of board.
Could you explain schematic where only this broke location. ?

I have the same problem trying to repare the screen from my girlfriend old phone. The screen is now replaced, but I broke this tab during the disassembly. Now the phone cant make or receive any calls or sms.. It can search for service but cannot log onto them. So, I looked on the pcb with my multimeter and find the 2 connections to make. Ill try to solder it back together.

Good, this thread isn't too dead Did you have success with soldering them back? I'm thinking of shipping mine to a repair shop with microsoldering technology.
Hello,
I'm repairing PCB's for a hobby, and my opinion would be ...
just buy a new Mainboard, they schould be unter 90$(new), repairing would be more expensive, even if it is "only a few components".
The two pins on the top right are mechanically important to connect into something, it will be really hard to get those strong enough, if they're broken.
Without a datasheet i would guess those caps, could be bypass caps, and maybee the're not really needed.
hello,
while fixing my gps I broke the same thing, the antenna pins connecting to the chin. ???
Has anyone managed to fix this?
Regards

Is there anyone who has an archos 70 internet tablet 250 gb with a broken screen and want to sell it?
i dont't have one - but it would be easyer to help u if u would tell wich part u need
i need the main cable that connects the screen with the main board thanks for your reply. i am searching everywhere
well that shouldn't be to hard...
they are called Flexible flat cable
u should get em on ebay or at your local electronic store
The only thing u have to research on your own is the connector type (at mainboard side). But that shouldnt be to hard - imho is should be one of the default connectors for those cables - even im not sure.
Maby "scholbert" knows... u could ask him.
Count the pins and try to buy one - no need for a full device
thanks for your advice but the this cable have other connection on it too is not so simple thanks...

well the picture is quite small - but I can see it's a bit different "style" then in my 101...
Anyway as there shouldn't be lines carrying combined signals - it still should be possible to rebuild that...
I fear that's the only way u have atm - since we don't know any reseller for replacement parts as far as i know - I saw quite a few people now asking for different things batteries, digitizer, display,...
But the only solution was to take it from broken device each time (besie I saw some sceen without digitizer around)
wich leads to ebay,.. but most time they are not "that" cheap...
yes i am waiting on ebay for something for me but may someone has something here
here is a bigger picture of the cable. i am going to take another picture where the actual problem on the cable is tomorrow.
here is my actual problem one of the bins in my Flexible flat cable is destroyed.
thanks for your help.
help!!!!!!!
any good news guys??????
Hi, a friend dropped a glass of beer on his galaxy i9100. Phone looks dead but when he give it to me i've tried another battery and the phone turns on with apparently no problem. So he bought another new original battery, put on and charge the phone. But, temperatures reach critical level and the phone stopped the charge. The temperature raise even without charge with battery in and phone on. So i disassembled and scan for damaged components or some trace of "beer" but the phone looks clear. I then sprayed with a product similar to wd40 (we call it crc in Italy, removes dirt and clear electric contacts) and wait for dry. But same problem. I turned on the phone partially disassembled and the heat is concentrated in the flex hook of the frontal buttons but probably the heat comes from the chip near that.
unfortunately there is no code on that chip so i hope you can understand wich i'm talking about. The only thing is that i don't really know if the heat is from that chip or the flex hook, i don't know how to test it. Looking at it there is no sign of damage. Any advice?
Hope you can understand the problem and apogologize for bad english
ps: with the crc the temperature focused on that chip, before that all the charging flex was over heating
Just post a picture.
Are you talking about the usb/mic board.

this is the place where heat reach is max
no ideas? i cleaned the phone completely and nothing changed
All I can say is you look through previous posts about motherboards and see if anyone has an old board you could get.
I dont know how easy it would be to change that component your after.
I dunno about beer but mine (GT-I9100P) had a couple of vodka baths and it still works impeccably. (and when I say baths, I say full glass spilled on it)
Where can I get A10S LCD-KD wire which connects mainboard to the display? I googled, but with no really success.
I blame myself for being so curious in what is there inside (I hear mechanical noises inside, but there's no HDD, I think they was from the power filters). When i opened the case - mainboard to display wire was split up in two parts of a wire where it was soldered (contacts badly damaged) and that's all... (
The ports are seems ok... Only wire...
Can you place a photo ?
One of XDA members send me a replace. I think I'll receive it this month.
And the photo:

I didn't found the site to buy this cable either. Some good guy on this forum helped me with the cable, but wasn't sent it, because he's busy right now. Maybe someone here will help you with the cable, good luck.
The guy who offers me help with the cable did not contact me more than a week, so I think he will not send me a cable.
Too bad...
Can anyone point me at where to find these cables? I don't want to throw it, a tablet is good, I want it to work.
Perhaps a flie market or something like that.

Hello i also have this broken cable and not sure where to get a replacement either, if someone has one to sell id be happy to buy it + postage also i would like to know what this cable is called if poss?
That cable can be carefully detached and attached, I've repaired my Archos 101G9 exactly that way with the working cable.
But that's only info, good luck you all in searching.
Dont forget about sticking it with a strong scotch tape!
I have had it for years, love it, I let my mom borrow and she tried to force the charger in upside down. Anyone have any info on replacing the usb/charger port? pics, advice, prayers, anything would be better than going in blind. I have not opened it yet, but is the footprint the same as a micro-USB (which I am kinda assuming) could I possible just replace the usb with micro-USB port?
thanks in advance
cheers,
disco

1)buy parts from here:
parts4repair.com
2)select DOCK CHARGING BOARD
3)buy the right one ( one without 4g antena OR the one with if you have 4g tablet )
4)repacement is easy but repair with patience and slow.
5) have fun
for info : i have repaired once so i know it works

I've indicated which three connections that you will have to unplug -- in addition to unscrewing the charging board. The only two tools that you should need are a pry tool (a knife will probably do) and a Philips or Frearson screwdriver.
i had the same idea of doing that, but as far as i know that is impossible
Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster here (and it's a long one too).
My OnePlus X is my daily driver and I was planning on using it for some more years if this is fixable
Recently the USB port started to fail, so I decided to replace the part. A little setback was that i also had to replace the GSM antenna cable, which I had damaged during disassembly. So far so good, the phone is now charging again and reception and mobile data are working fine.
However, ever since the repair my Wifi reception has gone to ****, it is now so bad that it's pretty much unusable even when right next to the router. I've come to the conclusion that this is not a problem with the antenna cable replacement, as removing this cable only kills cell reception, wifi is unchanged. You can see the cable i'm talking about running into the long side of the frame in the bottom of this

, with the golden connector on the lower edge of the motherboard (the other side connects to the USB flex cable, under the metal housing on the right). I believe the Wifi chipset itself is contained within the small housing in the upper middle of the board, with the + sign.
So now on to my question:
Does anyone know where exactly the wifi antenna on this phone is located? I'm assuming that it is being routed into the plastic/metal housing cover that's over the mainboard. I've made sure that none of the pins on the motherboard that connect to the housing cover are missing/bent or corroded. I've angled them up a little bit and cleaned them with alcohol to ensure a good contact.
But still, no wifi. Is it possible that the wifi chip itself got damaged in the repair and is there any way to find out?
Hopefully someone here knows something useful, I would be eternally grateful
Did you ever find a fix? I am having similar problems for one plus 3t
No, zero news on that front. I did some superficial research but was unable to pin-point the fault. I had to replace the phone, sadly.
