Disable autoboot on Android TV Box - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, I'm new in this forum and I have a question:
I've just bought a EgoIggo S95X Android TV Box (Android 6.0, 1GB Ram, 8GB ROM) and it works reasonably well, but there is an issue that bothers me a bit:
Everytime I plug the device in a power socket (or whenever I press the ON button on my power socket adapter) the device turns on automatically, but I would like for it to not do that and only turn on when I press the power button.
I've searched for similar issues but I've only found people wanting to do the opposite (having the device turn on automatically when plugged).
Is there anyway to fix this?
Thank you!

Which android device to stay in a car for radio streaming ?

Hello,
I'd like to install an Android device (tablet, smartphone, computer or whatever) into my car.
The purpose is to listen to internet radios and to be able to switch between those radios using my toyota car player which handles bluetooth/A2DP/avrcp .The app I would use is xiialive. This device would have his own sim card and should stay in the car. I don't want to plug the device each time I enter in my car, push any button or whatever. I would just like that the fact to put the key in my car would connect automatically to a webradio.
In fact I don't really need to see the screen, the device could stay hidden somewhere inside the car.
Here are the features I would like :
- auto boot when I turn on the car, which means when the device receives power from the usb port (my car has an usb port)
- plug an external antenna to get a better reception while driving. I'm thinking of a small android computer with a 3G stick plugged in. I have a 3G stick with an external antenna slot. Or any smartphone with an external antenna slot, but I haven't found one so far.
- eventually auto power down when I turn off the car, but If the device shutdowns when the battery is empty, it could be ok too
I've searched for such devices with no sucess. Any help is welcomed
thanks
if its a device that stays plugged in then if its connected to an always on port (on whether the car is or not) you should be all set. you can still place it somewhere you can easily reach on the off chance something happens and you need to manually power it on or reboot it.

[Q] Android external HDD power management

Hello
I own an Android device called Mele A2000 which runs Android 4.0.4 and has 3 USB host ports, one of them "OnTheGo". (AllWinner A10 chipset, concept is a tv-box like google tv with remote control).
Plugged into one of them is my WD external harddrive, which my Linux computer powers down if it is unused.
The android 3.0.8 kernel power management though switches it off just to power it on again after a few minutes. And then switches it of again nearly instantly. This happens for hours.
Is there a software to controll media queries? Do I have to disable FTP/SSH servers? Any hints how I can monitor which software repeatedly reads from /mnt/usbhost0/* ? Any nice power monitoring apps I can install?
Media scanning from sd and usb is disabled in the android settings.
Thanks,
Fenrasa
Please.. anybody?

Android Touch Mode digitizer

Hello all,
I recently bought an Android tv box and I want to put it in my car. I bought also a 7" digitiser and a "digitizer to usb interface from Adafruit named ar1100" that help me to connect via USB the digitiser and the Tv box.
My problem is that I have set up the interface and when I connect to my tv box using USB, it works as a touchpad , not like a touchscreen. This means that I see a cursor and I need to move that cursor like the touchpad from the laptop.. I want to activate the function where the digitiser works as it is designed.
I have read on some forums that is a "Touch mode" function that can be activated but from what I understand, it is made by developers which insert some lines in the source code...
Do you please have any suggestion for me in order to find a solution? Or an .apk that can solve this?
Thank you very much! :crying:
Did you ever resolve this? I've connected my Ar1100 to three Android devices and have exactly the same problem.

Problems with Poco F1 and Android Auto

Hi everyone,
I use a Poco F1 with the AOSP Extended ROM also in my car with Android Auto. The car is a Skoda Octavia from 2018, the technology in it is the same as in the Seat Leon or Volkswagen Golf. The connection between the car infotainment system and the phone is via USB. I've got two problems here:
1. from time to time the menu bar in the lower part of the screen is not displayed, so that I can't switch from the navigation screen to the audio screen anymore.
2. and this problem is really annoying: If I disconnect the phone from the car after driving (simply disconnect the USB plug), then the phone is hardly usable anymore. The screen flickers, the flickering changes depending on how I hold the phone (position sensor?) and I can't turn it off normally because the off switch no longer responds to the long press.
Does anyone know these behaviour and has a solution?
Cheers, jennix
