Hello,
After a fail flash custom rom, my phone got bricked. Somehow, i recovered it.
But now, i'm facing two major issues : No IMEI, No BaseBand (Wi-Fi is still working.)
I've tried every single post concerning : Restoring Imei and Restoring EFS partition.
(When i tried to restore the EFS partition following this guide : https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/flash-recover-efs-snapdragon-t3406789 . It requested me a password after booting)
Please help me, it'll save my life :crying:

I wanted to share with you a problem I had with my phone (I9300):
1. I upgraded the firmware to 4.3 through KIES.
2. Than i downgraded to version to 4.1.2 but did not back up EFS.
3. IMEI + SN were corrupted.
4. After many unsuccessful attempts to recover the IMEI-I had to go to the lab and restore the IMEI + SN with a box (i think it is z3x).
5. IMEI + SN successfully recovered - Netwrok is back. Rom is now 4.1.1
6. I installed version 4.3 via ODIN (without modem). This time you backed up EFS.
7. IMEI + Basband = unknonwn. Of course there was no network.
8. I Replaced EFS from the backup - didn't help.
9. I installed modem.bin MG4 => IMEI + Basband + S/N recovered -network was not - (emergency call only)
10. Zuluman patch didn't worked
11. Downgrade to 4.1.2 caused lost IMEI + SN.
12. I Replaced EFS from the backup- IMEI recovered - but there was no network.
13. ariza patch did not work.
14. I went back to the lab restore the IMEI again.
The conclusion from this long story - after restoring IMEI with a box - it is impossible to upgrade/ replace Rom without losing network again.
every ROM installation will require IMEI repair with a box.
I wanted to get confirmation from the experts who deal with boxes to restore IMEI.
Why so much pain?
You should have flashed the modem from 4.3 when you have downgraded to 4.1.2. That would have been a simple fix.
Your issue is because the original EFS has a security checksum which is not present if your rebuild the IMEI with any box. This security checksum is checked by the modem to confirm if the EFS is genuine. Because of that, you will have to flash a patched modem (which bypasses the EFS checkum) each time you update to a new firmware. You will need this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918601
Just don't keep trying random things. Do everything step by step. Do you have a backup before you had the IMEI repaired with a box?

You are posting in the wrong forum .
In the interests of keeping the number of EFS/IMEI threads popping up to a minimum, I'm closing this as there is a full reference thread on what to do located here >>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2393289
Hello, I'm new member in here. Today I flashed UltimaROM to my SGS3. Before the flashing I installed Philz touch recovery and saved Nandroid, modem and EFS backups in my PC. After the flashing no IMEI number was shown and I got a message saying " Insert SIM card....". So i tried to restore EFS in custom restore option in philz recovery. Even though it showed restore successful , IMEI number is still unavailable and i couldn't connect to mobile network. I also tried ktools to restore efs but no result. Can someone please help me regarding this issue.
What version firmware did you have before you first flashed? If it was really old then that could be the problem.
Flash a 4.3 stock rom, factory reset them boot and see if your efs is read again.

Thanks for the reply. I had 4.1.2. If I flash 4.3 stock ROM can i retrieve my IMEI ?
If you flash a 4.3 stock it will update your efs to v2 and should enable it to be read in all newer firmwares.
I was downgrading from CM14 to OrionOS MM and now i have lost my imei and baseband. I tried the efs recovery guide but i am not able to restore imeis. And my wifi and bluetooth are not working too. Please help.
I made a backup in twrp but restoring it doesnt give me back the imei numbers. What should i do now??
What happened with me is just this case- http://forum.xda-developers.com/red...ion-firmware-failed-to-restore-t3404901/page2
I restored frimware and alka formatted it but failed to restore. Can anyone give me the link to that recovery zip file they are talking about.
I flashed Xperience Rom on my OPX after taking a full TWRP backing and wiping /data and /system after that.
After that I have No IMEI, so no SIM ; No WiFi connectivity and unknown baseband as shown in screenshot.
I have already tried,
- Full reset
- Flashing OOS 3.1.4.
- Flashing OOS 2.2.2.
- Restoring backup.
Nothing is helping. What should I do?
Try flashing new baseband from here:

If it won't help, maybe this will help:
