Turn off spen [Need help please] - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So this is the thing, i had been having some big problems with the battery of mi note 5. After 1 year of tryng to find whats killing my battery i found an aplication called system panel 2 and it says there is an "unaccounted" comsume of battery that is 6 times more than the display consume and it only happens when the screen is on. The thing is a friend broke my spen detector and its always on and i think this is killing my battery when the screen is on. I would appreciate it if anyone knew any way to disable the spen so i could verify that i am not wrong and finally resolve my battery problem. Thanks for your attencion.

Screen problem

Hello
I received my xperia ultra yesterday from expansys.
I found that sometimes de screen dont respond properly, either or its too sensitive, exemple when scroll de contacts list sometimes open one contact, or when i move and icon in the launcher the icon drops, and i put the same pressure all the time.
Or sometimes its irresposive, in the keyboard if touch the same letter with the same pressure, sometimes register the press, others (1 of every 8 or 10) dont.
I dont know if its a defective unit or its a common issue.
Any help?
Thanks
What firmware version are you running?

There seems to be a lot of discussion about our units and their issues or lack of issues.
I have never had a SOD (screen of death) or any sensitivity issues. Not on any firmware..
- Updating firmware probably wont fix your issue.
My advice: I would RMA your unit. (Return merchandise authorization) get a replacement.
I had the same issue and got it replaced, the screen was faulty. A simple exchange and now i have speaker issues, hoping third times the charm.

crap! This has got to be the worst case of quality assurance from Sony. I'm one of the lucky ones to get an actual fully working unit...
One question for you all. Which model do you have? Do we know if there's one particular model that has the majority of problems, or is it mostly random? Hamdogg, you got the C6833 (LTE) and no problems right? OP, what do you have?
I have the c6833
In other words, anyone wuth this issue has solved without replace tbe unit?
For for me replace the unit its the last stand, i buy in expansys and i dont know his policy in this subjet.
Its random sometimes works fine for a while, and appears, i think its about 90% fine, but its a lot of money and if no solutions its imposible life with this problem always.
Curioaly when i received the order from expansys the box was already open, not sealed.
Maybe im not the first one that find that this unit its faulty.....
Really i dont know.

And anothr think.
Almost always, the problem appear more when you just power on the unit, tje first seconds are the most dangerous.
If you use during a while its more dificult to reproduce.

[Q] horizontal screen lines

Hey everyone I'm having some issues on my S2 screen, I've been looking some horizontal lines on my screen after it goes into deep sleep and I turn it on again. I see like 6 straight lines on my screen. The weird thing is that after using my phone for like 5/10 mins those lines are gone. . Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks!

[Q] s3 Fails Dimming test after toilet drop

Hi folks, Haven't been here since my HTC tilt days. Wife dropped s3 in toilet and didn't take out battery right away. I took it apart about 10 hours later. Started with screen flicker. Dried it again over night and used hair dryer. I've used the on board diagnostic and all works fine except the dimmer test. Colors come up fine but when I tap to dim it dims and starts to flicker, goes black, flickers back, sometimes stays black or reboots. I've done a factory reset. I haven't seen any general screen flicker since. When it goes into sleep/screen saving mode it must go black for about 15 seconds before it is able to wake it up again.
Anyone know if this is motherboard, screen or software issue?
Thanks
Obviously it's a hardware issue dude. Send it to a repair shop because it may needs a new thing.

Thanks. figured I can bypass the problem if I don't let it dim. Set it to sleep only after 10 min. As long as you manually set it to sleep mode with the power button all seems good.

Okay dude.
So it seems that this bypass doesn't hold up. So I used my s3 screen on the wife's motherboard- no problems. Then I used her screen on my motherboard- no problems. Put hers all together - problems start again. Any ideas on that?
update
So to follow up on this. I had to use my wife's water exposed S3 motherboard on my S3. All worked well. I must assume that the wife's screen is bad. I also noticed that this phone drains the battery 2-3 x as fast as it normally would. Anyone have a screen problem do this or is this probable of a screen dysfunction.

Screen sometimes not turning on

Xiaomi.eu 5.9.18 dev, but happened on 5.9.11, too. I don't know about earlier releases.
This happens in the morning, after not using phone for a longer period of time (6 or more hours, ie during the night). So when my alarm goes off, I won't be able to dismiss it. In these cases, I have to hold the power button long enough for the phone to turn off and then power it on again.
Anyone else with the same problem?

Did you install the ROm with wipe? Have the same and no problems
Sent from my Redmi Note 2 using Tapatalk
Yes, I did wipe everything. Might be some application that I have installed, but I have no idea which one could cause it and why. I'll have to look up on how to take a logcat from my PC, it seems.

I had the problem up to and including 5.9.11, but not since .18 (sorry, I'm also using the xiaomi.EU developer from branch). I did a dirty flash over .11.
Yes, I had the same problem on .18, clean installation.
The alarm was ringing this morning, but display was off and I could not turn it on.
I was too sleepy to use adb logcat.
Flash over TWRP or MIUI Recovery?

And today it happened again when I woke up. Screen didn't light up, buttons didn't light up, when I plugged the phone in the PC the notification LED didn't light up. I couldn't take a logcat because the adb didn't see the phone at all.

I have the same issue on 5.9.24 It seems to happen after it has been left idle for a long period of time.
Yes, exactly that. It's like some kind of a sleep of death.

Have you found a fix for this issue?
5.10.15 Beta, same issue. Very frustrating. Can make a call to phone from another, hear ringtone, but no matter - screen is black. New phone, couple days of using
Update: install 5.10.22 update weekly from http ://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/miui-weekly-rom-releases.103/ , i'll try it for next day and share result.
5.10.22
5.10.22 weekly beta - three days without "sleep of death" :fingers-crossed: , additionaly battery life improved
Yeah, same here. Looks promising.

Does AOD turn off in pockets ?

I found similar topics but about different phones and thus different aod implementations so , does the always on screen ever turn off I feel like sometimes i pull it out of the pocket and see it turn on as the phone exits the pocket. Just wondering [emoji3]
Sent from my LG-H840 using Tapatalk
Yes.
Nice, thanks for the quick answer
Sent from my LG-H840 using Tapatalk
Yeah, if you try covering the proximity sensor while the phone is out you'll see turn off
For me aod is a huge battery hog. Isn't it?
I can lose up to 10 % in standby with enabled aod.
