Hi. The phone application was not functioning well and the F/C dialog showed up. I powered off the phone and from that point, the phone won't turn on.
The battery was fully charged before this happened.
When I press the power button, the phone vibrates for half a second, the screen brightens up but does not show anything but a black screen.
I removed SIM and SD cards, removed the battery and performed the above steps but nothing happened.
I also tried to put on the charger to see what's going on. Once I plug the charger, the phone's screen brightens but shows only blank (even without pressing the power button)
When connected to the charger, the green light for charging is on for some minutes, then goes off automatically.
I tried to connect it to the PC, and PC Companion finds the device as usually. It even shows the dialog on the pc screen to mount the device.
I tried a hard reset, but does not work
On some point, the sony logo appeared and then a dialog saying: "sorry process system is not responding". The first time I pressed Force Close and the phone turned off. Immediately after that, the phone turned on and showed the exact message. I pressed "Wait" but nothing happened in the next 15 minutes.
I called Sony's support center and they suggested a software update. Did the process exactly as it should, but again, even after the software update the screen shows nothing but black. It is all the time brightened for some reason.
I tried to turn off the phone for some time by removing the battery, but as soon as I put the battery back on, the phone's screen brightens and stays that way forever.
The phone was functioning perfectly up until this issue. The only application I had installed apart from some games, was AWDLauncher. On the screen I had only a TASK widget and a battery status widget.
The phone is 3 months old and has been always in perfect condition.
ANY help would be appreciated!!!!
Many Thanks
Try to format phone with this method hope it should work as it seems the issue is with OS only ..

I tried the steps found in the link you gave me, but I couldn't go any further after step no (5) from the tutorial, as it would require to enable Debugging mode and I cannot access the OS (since the device won't turn on).
Is there a way to format all the contents of the device and have them replaced by running SEUS (as it always says that my device is up to date now)?
Was it this:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup.../detailed/updateservice/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en
That Sony Ericsson told you to do?
If not, use that.
Download it, follow the steps when it says you have the latest version, press "Install Anyway".
Hope this works.
Hi itTim. thanks for the response
this is what i did but no improvement at all ((
Sounds like you broke your LCD screen somehow.
That would suck because I broke mine and it cost me $200 to fix.
Hi Hypercore.
Yes that could be the problem. The thing is that I always took rally good care of the phone, always carried in a leather pouch and never droped it. How sensitive is this lcd anyway?? Did you notice any cracks on your lcd or was the problem simillar to mine?
Thanks
When you turn on the phone does the lcd backlight turn on?
If so, look for any faint lines of color (usually a hairline size). If you see any of those then your screen is cracked.
the backlight is on, but there are no lines of colour on the lcd screen.
another weird thing is that the green light on the top blinks one or two times every time i put on the battery. even if the phone is off, once I insert the battery turns on automatically after a couple of seconds.
If all else fails you could try to flash back to your original fw with the tools here:

That won't do anything.
I had almost the same issue. Nothing worked. But, when I removed the battery and left it for a day (24h) without it, it just started working again. Still working without issues..
Good luck!

Phones are very wierd pieces of technology. I once bricked my k610i and that's a phone that's supposed to be impossible to un-brick, but out of nowhere a month or so later i picked it up, hit power and it turned on perfectly. Made no sense at all, but it worked.
Taking the battery out for a long time probably took all the electrical charges from it (kind of like how a computer power supply / monitor can hold power charges) and reset your handset.

Indeed. It could be a frozen chip, memory fault, power-regulator and so on.

if you have done this and did not worked , then it is the LCD.
send it to workshop and check it there.
Guys i Really need the solve of this problem , my xperia has blank screen now without backlight and the phone completely doesn't work . when i put the battery and prees the switch botton it gives me 3 red signals , i've updated and hard reset but it didn't work , and btw the LCD is fine , any idea. did removing the battery worked???? . please answer
After a looooot of time since my latest post, finally my Xperia came back to life. There was a battery failure which means the phone was ok all the time. Weird thing is that the led light showed that the battery was charging ok. I removed the battery and after a lot of time it is working ok again. This was really really odd.
FYI for anyone else that gets this issue.
I just had this for the past hour after trying to change my baseband....could not get it back for anything.
What I did finally try was run another baseband via flash tool, connected to usb and it started flashing....after flash phone powered on again...yeah I agree with everyone, that is freaking scary when it happens.
Hey everyone. This is a quote from androidforums.com it is not my own writing, but this is my exact problem.
"Hey everybody, i recently bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia x10i and thought i should root my phone, using the following tutorial:
Newbies Guide to Rooting X10 and giving you the newest firmware! - xda-developers
So, i was following the steps and after i completed step 5, my phone refused to turn on. At first, the phone would initially vibrate like normal and the LED light would turn green, but then immediately turn off. 5 seconds later, the phone would start constantly vibrating with a black screen and the phone would become unresponsive. To turn it off i had to remove the battery.
I then downloaded the Sony Ericsson PC companion and tried to repair my phone. However, it did no good. Now my phone does the initial vibration, except this time the black screen would lighten up slightly and just stay like that.
I then attempted to charge my phone overnight and when i woke up it just flashes 3 red lights where the LED light is.
could somebody please help me? i only bought my phone 3 days ago and would be a COMPLETE waste of $600 if i was unable to get a replacement phone due to the void of warranty due to rooting.
Is there any way of fixing the phone? If not, is there any way of removing any trace of me rooting or attempting to root the phone (without turning the phone on since i can't) in order to use my warranty?"
My phone has now gone so flat (and doesn't seem to charge) that i can't enter flash mode.. although it was working last night before i went to bed and i did manage to update it using SEUS. But it wont boot up properly. Any ideas? I have noticed that there are a few other people that are having the same problem.. but no one seems to have a solution.
I have also noticed that it runs in a loop. When i plug it in the red light flashes for a while, then attempts to turn on.. and does the black screen for a while. Then it runs out of battery and goes back to the red flashing light. then it repeats.
Hope you can help. Thanks.
Have you tried flashing new firmware with flashtool?
As i tried to explain above.. my phone wont enter flash mode as it is too flat. And it wont charge. when i take it off the charger and try and turn it on. it flashes red three times then a break then three times again and so on.
Any ideas on whats going on?
would it be possible to still claim in on warranty as it wont start properly and wont connect to the computer.
Dear All,
I would like to tell you quiet a scary story that happened to me today involving my View.
I was surfing on my View (while it was charging, probably about 30%-40% at the time) when suddenly without any slow-down/crash/other sign the screen goes dark and the View won't turn on. Nothing works, hard reset, unplugging, trying different outlets, chargers, connecting via USB to my desktop, laptop each for a few minutes- nothing. The only thing showing that there might be still some life inside my View was occasionally blinking orange/red light that caused me a little concern as it apparently often means that battery was overheating. That was certainly not a case as I've used the View in my pretty cold apartment in CT- the device felt pretty cold in my hands.
1 hour of hectic, trying everything to revive the tablet. Eventually even the red light stopped blinking. Like a doctor who's about to loose a patient I plugged it to the computer and typed some random commands through fastboot (of course the tablet wasn't even in a fastboot- but at that point I was in a full panic mode and for my sanity I felt I had to try everything). Eventually I stopped and was just holding the tablet in my hands, still plugged in my computer and thinking- wow, I rooted/unlocked/flashed 5 different android devices so many times so far and often with crazy, long and complicated processes. Somehow I've never bricked any and now my tablet just completely died on me when I was reading a wikipedia page on it at my desk. I was about to put it down and go look for the warranty when suddenly the screen goes on and the htc logo appears. And then it booted right to the OS. And for the last few hours it works like nothing ever happened.
Anybody got a similar story? Any idea what could've happened?
Random Crashing
I am experiencing random crashes where the phone stops and the LED flashes a few times before rebooting. At first I thought it was overheating, as the phone was quite warm the first few times, but it has just done it when cold. It has happened mostly whilst in the play store. It's crashed about 15 times in 4 hours.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Is there anyway to access the logs without root?
*** Edit ***
This must just be a dud device. I did a factory reset last night and it crashed rebooting. Will take back to shop and hopefully exchange for a new one.
Did u tried to repair it via PC Companion?
It comes from a bad battery voltage. I had One m7 and after 1 year this problem begin. They change the battery and battery conector and it comes to work good.
This happened after 5 minutes, it's been sent back to the shop now for repair / replacement. Shame, as it was a nice phone when it wasn't crashing!
I had kind of the same experience with my device I bought yesterday. Turned it on, worked for about half an hour before flashing the red LED a few times and shutting down. After that it turned on once again, booted halfway up, the red LED flashed again and it shut down again. Then it did not react to anything anymore.
Plugging it into the charger did not yield any reaction at all. Pressing On and the Vol+ button made it vibrate three times as its supposed to do, but afterwards even that did not work anymore. As a last resort I pressed the hard reset button in the SIM slot, which also made it vibrate three times without any other reaction.
So I concluded it was dead and returned it to the store this morning to get my money back. I think I will hold of of buying a replacement until all the errors that currently pop up are sorted out.
Also noteworthy is, that while booting up and in the time it was usable the screen had a red tint sometimes and touch was working rather flakily.
They sent me a brand new phone, so was def a dud. No crashes so far, finger crossed
When i bought this phone, the led for notifications never worked, today i had an accident and my phone fell to the water for around 2 seconds, i turned it off, tried to take the water (even opened the back case) and turned it back on, now the led turned on for the very first time and seems to work perfect now, It was bad that water dropped on it, but something good came out of it, and no other issues came, i wonder what was making the led not work before..
Re notification led
Mine has never worked but I don’t fancy dropping it in the water to find out if it will fix it.
Before I installed TWRP recovery when I booted the phone and held the volume button + the phone would boot to something called factory mode which had a series of tests the notification led was one of the tests and I marked it as fail but nothing ever happened so I just left it alone after that and because the was no recovery mode on the phone in set about finding out how to install TWRP. Phil.
