I did a clean flash of the August 10 Official Nightlies for the Redmi Note 4 along with ARM64 pico GApps and Magisk 13.3 Stable version. The thing is though i can see the Play Protect is available on my device from Settings --> Google --> Security --> Google Play Protect however, its is not visible under the Play Store --> My Apps Tab as i have seen in many screenshots or cast for the Play Protect. The device is certified under the Play Store Settings and has passed the SafetyNet and CTS compatibility suite. Just wanted to know to how to enable if it is possible.
Play Protect not visible under play store
I have the same problem

I had to fight this on 2 tablets now. The play store gives connection problems. I've tracked the issue down to the newer versions of Google Play Services.
Google Play services v 8.7.03 worked fine, such that Play Store never had issues. Then one tablet updated to Google Play services v 9.0.83 end of May, and another one just updated a week ago to Google Play services v 9.2.56. This screwed up the Play Store, which started to display the connection error. What's interesting is that if I manually re-install 8.7.03, the Play Store is still unstable, requiring me to sign in here and there.
Today I've installed a patched version of Play Store, the one that should not update itself (google for "patched google play store", select the link that also has the smiley app). Then I re-installed the 8.7.03 version of Play services. Regardless, within minutes, the Play Services got updated back to 9.2.56 (apparently, the patched Play Store does not prevent updates to Google Play Services). Yet for some reason this latest permutation seems to work, and I am finally able to get apps from the Play Store again.
There is no way to block the Google Play Services updates as we could do on FireOS 4.5.x ... The old trick with the directories named as apk does not work ...
Anyway, what the situation out there ? I am not seeing many reports, but the issues must be happening ! Please, chime in!
Hey Guys,
I need your knowledge.
First my setup. I use MicroG together with Play Store.
It works but in newer Version of the play store i have a new section in the app list with Google Play Protect.
But i don't want that Google scans all my apps and i'm not sure whether Play Protect is activ on my device.
Or thinks the Play Store only that Protect runs because of MicroG?
And if so is there a working way to pretend the Play Store from self updating?
Edit: In the meantime i found a work around. So Thread can be closed/deleted.
Hello,
I've got qumi q38 projector with android 6.0.1 installed. I'm trying to install google play services and store so I've installed latest versions of every library compatible with marshmallow:
Google Account Manager
Google Services Framework
Google Play Services
Google Play Store
Unfortunatelly right after installing Google Play Services, Google Services Framework is constantly crashing. Any ideas?
Regards,
Sebastian
Anyone made some gapps progress with this projector?
Still looking for an small android projector for holidays/trips but the stock Q38 android without official playstore seems pretty bad up to unusable according to some reviews
I have a play protect certification problem on a redmi note 9s with miui 11, when I unlock the bootloader then the play protect certification goes to not certified, when I flash back to Miui 11 relocking the bootloader it goes back to certified, how serious is it to leave play protect not certified, or is it basically still protected and just a fear factor introduced by Google play.

Hi,
Same happened to me. I just cleared cache and data in Google Play, rebooted and it was certified. Just to mention, I use Magisk too. Google Play is added to the list in Magisk Hide.
After clearing data in Play Store it may take a while to see the actual certification listed under the Play store settings. My bootloader remains unlocked.

Maybe magisk is the key as I tried to clear data/cache in play store with no change, so will try with magisk, but is it something of concern if play protect is not certified as everything seemed to work when I activated play protect and it scanned my apps anyway..

I'm not too sure about Play Protect as I always have it disabled, however Play will still scan any new app that is installed, so I see that as being safe enough for me.
I'm pretty sure that you will have success with the above method, from memory I had to clear cache/data a couple of times. I then immediately cleared Play Store in the list of running apps (bottom left gesture button) Reboot the phone immediately after this before launching Play Store again.
I remember after doing this I then didn't see the certification at all under Play Settings but it did eventually re appear as Certified after a couple more reboots.
I am going to be buying an android TV device thats ROM that does not have google play store and i will just install it my self.
I am wondering is there any downsides to this. Will i still be able to download and install all the apps from play store or is there any limitations at all?
Google Play Store simply is a market place for Android apps. To successfully run the Google Play Store app it's required some more Google services ( e.g. Google Play Services, Google Services Framework ) get additionally installed. Many people don't want this.
It's on you.

Thank you.
So play store does not check if your device is supported/official it just lets you download and use any app as long as you meet the requirements of the app.
Google Play Store doesn't care what Android version is installed on a device: they want to earn money from the apps they offer.
