Hello.
I have the Kenzo version and I have drop my phone and now have the problem WiFi, BT. MAC address is 02:00:00:00:00.
I don't now if was the drop our not but started from there the Wifi phoblems.
Ur if some one has solve this isue can tell me.
I already try this;
- Restore ROM
- Restore Kernel
- restore EFS from a backup
- Reinstall a new EFS
- Restore china/global/dev roms
And Nothing works.
- Some times the Wifi works but only for a 3s.
I think that it's some bad joint.
Can some one tell me where i can find the Wifi Chip on the board? I really cant find the technical for Snapdragon only for MTK device.

Do you know what? I have the same problem with my old s3 and i am still convinced it is because of software because i read on many posts in xda that people had tried to replace stuff but none worked.
But please tell me if you succeed.

Hi all,
So i have been having some problems with my s2 recently which I hope you can help me with. Phone was working fine a few months ago, then the micro usb socket failed on me. No worries, new board goes in all is well. Then a couple of weeks ago same problems again, again no worries ill put a new board in i thought!
Please with another sucessful fix I also decided to finally test out ICS so jumped on the latest nightly cyanogenmod. Anyway, since these things I am now finding my phone will just stop getting any signal. IT usually eventually comes back after many resets and battery pull outs, and when it works it works well (3g access no problems). Today it has done the same thing and now won't seem to come back, even the IMEI number is missing this time when i type *#06#....
Does anyone know if this is likely hardware or software?
Thanks all,
Ian
Not even generic imei? You dont happen to have a EFS backup?
Have you tried flashing back te original firmware you had before the problem?
Have you tried changing the modem? since it is the one that adresses the signal problem.
And if you're thinking of flashing original ICS firmware do be carefull. Mind the Brickbug.
I face the same problem, but i at least get generic imei and signal.
Please excuse the bad english.
no imei when type *#06#
No backup.
I had this problem last weekend but the imei came back just from lots of resetting. Question is is this hardware or software?

Well, if you had a backup and restored and it would have worked it we could have ruled out the hardware.
Otherwise it surpasses me. I would have an experienced forum member answer your question. I am sorry i was of no help.
Please read these. It may be of some help.

thanks for your help anyway it is much appreciated. Hopefully someone wikll be along to help me out, ideally want to keep the phone another 3 months til my contract upgrade
Without a backup you're not fixing it. Service centre if you want it done properly, or ask local mobile repair shops (which can be very 'hit & miss').
It's unlikely to be a hardware issue if the IMEI has disappeared. It's a firmware/software problem that's caused it; exactly what however, would be conjecture on anyone's part (and irrelevant anyway; knowing what caused it isn't going to help you fix it, trust me).
Edit - Given you've only got a few mths till you get a new phone & given the probable cost of repairs, I'd be bringing forward my new phone purchase.

When I used to run GB Miui (>12 mths ago, shortly after I got my phone), the IMEI would occasionally disappear immediately after boot for anything up to 30 seconds.
Why did it happen ? I'm no developer (I'm not even sure the developers of that particular rom knew), but it always showed up or after another reboot.
Essentially, if the IMEI doesn't come back after rebooting a couple of times, you're cactus.
Maybe do a clean install of stock & a reset (stay away from 4.0.4 stock). I wouldn't get my hopes up tho. First thing you do when you run non-stock firmware/root your phone is backup EFS. Always.

i rooted a couple of years ago when i got the phone, don't ever remember mention of efs and never had problems until now...
well a couple of data wipes and a reinstall of the same rom againand i have signal again...
i think this confirms it must be software related...now to backup efs.
Tell the developers of the rom you're using. Could be useful to them.
will do! any suggestions of a ICS rom that is more stable than the CM nightlys?

Lol I would say so, however you have realised it and that's a good thing. If you can already flash a rom then you can flash modem. It's exactly the same. The only reason I've mentioned it is that I run CM nightlies myself and if I use any modem other than LS8 I have the same problem.

but imei of my phone changed.i have tried many times to repair it with mtk droid tools, maui meta,sn write tool, imei fix., etc, but i dont succeed.my phone is not reading my sim cards at any cost.
when i take out both sims, and check with *#06# it shows the correct imei, which is written on the back of my phone. but as soon as i insert the sims and check imei, the imei 1 is invalid, and imei 2 is some incorrect imei.

ALSO
is the same problem causing my wifi not to work?or the wifi issue is because of kernel?
can you give me som insight what kernels are?what they do?

are stock roms the original roms which mobile companies give us pre-installed in our devices?
when we have a new device we donot get the imei problem. if stock roms are same as the pre-installed roms, then why so they give imei errorr after flashing?
also, does the imei error have to do something with wifi not working?why does wifi not work too?can you please throw some light on it.

Yes.... stock roms are the roms that are installed when you buy the phone.... the wi fi problem and the imei problem ( i think) are not connected together even if they are found in the same folder ( that is /efs)

thank u buddy. I have wlan.ko and wlan_6582.ko but I don have p2p.ko file. I googled bt not found any p2p.ko file. could u plz give me this file?
this is two symblink file. put to lib/modules and restart and see if it works.
I faced this problem when i made a ROM using AK and i found that these two files are missing then i pasted these two files from the Stock ROM and it solved the problem.
If you never changed you entire rom, you must have the stock kernel, and the problem maybe it's .ko missing files...
To check if the modules are working, try in a terminal emulator:
Code:
modprobe wlan

you can try to root it first. if it didn't root. then try all posible ways to root. i think you know how. if it roots. that's mean you also can flash it. so just flash the rom what you like and if everything works good then good. but if wifi still does not work then find the wifi fix to your rom. don't be afraid to root your phone. rooting cannot break your phone. i 2 weeks ago reflash the samsung galaxy s4 chinese. and it's still running good
Use MTK Droid Tools For Backup Rom
Find Firmware from Google Or similar clone one and then flash Firmware.
For better Option Make a full Backup with MT K dRoid Tools then you don't have to worry about your present ROM
Root

You never made a previous efs backup?
Did you try flashing a different 4.4.2 ROM than the one your phone already had? Did you do a factory reset in the process?

http://www.cvxcvx.pl/en/ I have seen him remotely fix multiple people's Samsung efs. I think he charges around 20 euro.
I believe he remotely logs into your device. Your device never leaves your hands from what I understand. I've seen at least 5 similar cases on the n7000 forums where he fixed it.
He is polish.
It looks like In your case its not 99% fixable like if you had a 0000 or 0049 imei. See this page as well

Hi guys. This is a new phone that already has a ROM on it. MUI version is 8.0.3.0, sometimes an advert for a battery app pops up on the side which is why I want to wipe. This is a gift for my girlfriend, so I would like to know how to take it to stock (most basic one, no root etc). I'm new to all of this, if someone could post me a guide or tutorial it would be much appreciated. Thanks :good::good:

First of all which note 4 model is it? The mtk (deca-core processor) or snapdragon (octacore processor)?
It may have a vendor rom, which is a rom installed by the reseller and will most likely feature malware (ads, dodgy apps, etc). But you're right to flash a stock rom to start a fresh.
