Hi guys, I think my battery life is bad , cause I can't even make 5h of SOT with 50% brightness and everything off except mobile data . How's your BL and why "phone idle" drain all that battery ?

For someone using Facebook app with its notifications, it's not an option, i.e. you work on digital marketing

I used now for 34 hours. As I woke up it was at 20 percent, 45 minutes ago. Now I have 16 percent, go to work and charge. Isn't that nice? ?

Have you tried any wrapper, like Swipe or Friendly? They are way more battery friendly than Facebook, and still have notifications (better, they also have messenger).

No, but if I go on battery details, Facebook has only 1 or 2%. It's telephone idle that has more or less same percentage of screen.
But I'll give a try.
Many users have Facebook and Messenger installed, and don't report battery drain.
Strange things is that for many users this LG G6 has an excellent battery, and for many others it has a battery drain issue.
Also some users report strange lags, and others no.
It's like playing a lottery... [emoji23]

Yeah I've noticed, but performance-wise Facebook app has always been a pain in the ass for everyone, from low-range to top tier phones. It would slow down even a Google Cluster if it was possible
My battery is excellent since the update, but I prefer to count my blessings and avoid Facebook like plague.
Can also try the facebook Lite app, way less resource hungry!
Good day today
One weekend I had as much as 8 hrs SOT.
Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
Today it exeeded all my expectations. Almost 7 hours SOT and I still have 40% left. What I have done different? I left the phone in the charger about 3 hours after it finished charging, I did not use data connections, only wifi where available, and the network is set to 2G. Also about 3 hours the screen was really dim, as I have used it at night, but 4 hours was at 80% as I used it outside.

My friend and i purchased G6 together. He is a big a Facebook lover. He uses Facebook app continuously everyday. Mostly all the Social Media Apps. Me on the other hand disabled the Facebook app just after starting the phone . We both like to game a lot too like Asphalt Xtreme , Real Racing 3 , Clash Of Clan , Minion Rush And Modern Combat.
But usually he have to Charge his phone about an hour or two before me with the same SOT.
So i could say his Social Apps are draining extra juice continuously the whole day.
My screen on, with a wakelock i cant figure out. Over about 24 hrs this is, yet 17% left

Alright I know this may be a little redundant giving all of the various topics on this, but I thought it would be wise to have a cohesive thread for all tips. If you can, post whatever you do to save battery. To keep this a little more organized, here is what should be seen:
Greenify: Tell us what you Greenify
Brightness: Tell us your brightness settings.
Sync: What do you sync? Feel free to go into detail
Usage: Light, Medium, or Heavy? Also feel free to go into detail.
Screen-on time: What is your typical screen on time?
Lastly, feel free to post any tips! Please try to participate and I will update this post with the top battery saving tips!
My stats are as shown:
Greenify: A few of my apps, and youtube would be the only system-type app.
Brightness: I use Lux with the ascending settings on
Sync: I always have sync off unless my phone is charging.
Usage: I am more of a moderate user. using it somewhat heavy, but not often.
Screen-on time: My screen-on time varies, but generally is around 3 Hrs 45 Minutes by about 15%
Dang.. Another battery thread?!

I apologize for the redundancy. I would like a cohesive and organized list.
VanirAOSP+furnace 1.7.2(intellidemand/row)
Greenify:everything except viper4android
Brightness:halfbar except when sunlight
Sync:whatsapp mail gmail and contacts
Usage:heavy user
Screen:22hrs usage with 7:30 or 8 screen
Tips:
I have 3g most of the day(no LTE in my country)
The only game i play is Day of the tentacle on SCUMMVM
If you re using just whatsapp you can switch to 2g(normally i dont but its a good idea)
Install betterbatterystats and always check for wakelocks

Stock with dorimax kernel, underclock to 2.0ghz ondemand, intellitemp, core at 50 degrees and cpu 60, intellihotplug and eco mode (two cores on, same performance less battery drain)
Sync off I turn it on one's per day....
Usage is not heavy and not lie is on middle...
I am must of the time on 2g/3g automatic, when I am at home like new and on night I turn WiFi on and set 2g

Eh I am hesitant on ROMS. I feel like the stock rom is the only one that is truly "stable."
Ever since receiving Lollipop I've found the phone to get hotter and hotter during regular usage; browsing, texting, basically anything with the screen on and brightness at 50-60%. It gets hot around the camera button after like 5-10 minutes. On JB/KK, the phone only ever got so hot during intensive gaming.
I'm interested how many of you are experiencing the issue. Please vote and let me know your model/ROM.
I'm on D802 and running Cloudyfa 3.1(same thing was happening on stock V30D).
I experience overheating a lot with lolipop, even with a various custom kernels and roms, I've tried UV, downclock, etc...
Then I went back to stock kernel and soomboons ultralite rom. Started all over again by wiping everything. Installed all my apps, and with trickster mod downclocked to 1577400 with ondemand gov, and everything else stock. I think that's it, been a week now and...
Phone doesn't overheat that easily, UI experience is very smooth considering huge downclock (offcourse it is snapier on 2,26, but then you have battery/overheat problem)
My battery finaly last over 4hr SOT, with screen most on max brightness, and everything synced on wifi/4g.
Hope it can help
chers
EDIT: this is a screenshot after I typed this post, temperature is just fine...

Not single sign of overheating. Actually I'm getting insane battery life out of L.P./Cloudy. Battery stats attached with medium usage with Wi-Fi and sometimes 3g.

YES! Have a T-Mobile D801 here. On stock LP 5.0.2 my G2 DEFINITELY heats up during normal usage. Since I've been on CM12 and Ive really not had any overheating issues at all.
Been running a T-Mobile D801 on the stock Lollipop 5.0.2. No overheating problems at all, other than when running Waze extended times in the car while charging at the same time.
Note: I always keep background sync on most things switched off on any Android phone, so the same applies here. Gives me close to two days battery life.

Coming from a Sony xperia Z I thought my battery life on the s6 edge was awesome I'd get home from an 8 hour day of average to minmal use at work and have about 20% battery left...
This was until I asked my work colleague earlier today how much battery his Samsung note 4 had remaining at the end of our shifts and he told me 72% compared to my 25%, we compared battery usage in the settings menu and they were near identical!? In fact he actually had more usage than me!

Social media apps use ip battery more than anything else acutally. Id show you with my phone on facebook alone but i have a battery usage stat history issie right now where it is not showing anyinthing but its not a big deal. well, if you have couple of texting apps working at all times in the background that will do it, for example if you have Whatsapp + BBM installed with average number of contacts on each app respectively, you are lucky to have 25% after 8 hours. I would recommend monitor the unnecessary apps that are running the background, and minimize the number of texting apps (if you have)

Damn ... I'm hoping I didn't fry my battery already just few weeks into it. By the way I take my phone to the shower sometimes, do you think steam from hot water will affect phone battery life etc ?
Hum i don't think the steam will affect it, the moisture might affect other stuff but i dont think so cause i do the same sometimes hahahaha sooo check by doing a factory reset if not i would go into getting a replacement, i would say that maybe you can test with another battery but since lg hasn't shipped their preorder bonus then all i can recommend are those options

You probably need to download a wakelock detector and see what is keeping your phone woke. Mine barely uses battery in standby. Many apps especially social media apps will keep waking the phone to update, you may want to check the settings on some of your apps to see if they are updating constantly.
The system apps that you can't remove that you are not using should be disabled. They can cause wakelocks.
Uninstall apps you are not using, they can use themselves even though you don't use them.
Download Greenify (or similar app) and enable Aggressive Doze and Doze on the Go and also set a shortcut to force hibernate your apps. This works fine without root and it can help prolong your battery life.
Also turn off radios you don't need. Those will search from time to time which can also use a lot of battery.
Another fix is to factory reset your phone and set it up again and only install apps you need and use.
Hope that helps.
I tried that with no luck theres something wrong with my phone sometimes it reaches 96 % of the time without deep sleep. I dont know i dont live in usa so i dont have warranty. Ill just try to reflash.

Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Good. I'm getting a consistent 6hrs+ SOT on average usage.
Battery life is excellent getting 6hrs+ sot with jio network and 64 GB card. Really impressed with 3080 mAh battery.
6hr+ sot with 18 to 25hr of standby and with 2hr + voice
