Hey guys! I was wondering why can't we encrypt /sdcard as we do for /data?... In my opinion my files/documents/photos are sensitive information as my data partition is...

Hi.
I've rooted my A70s with chulri's kernel and it seems to work ok.
My next goal is to get more app room ... so I guess I need to resize the app/data partition.
I've thought that having my internal storage formatted on ext4, it would be possible to ln the /data folder to /storage/data without problems, but then I should create a boot script for that. The question is... can I do this with my current root status? What would be the way to do it? I'm don't know enough of linux os to make it on my own.
If the system can't be fooled with a ln, then is there any way to resize the data partition, even if I have to backup/restore my current data?
I don't want to use Urukdroid, since all the versions I tried were very unstable on my machine.
Cheers!!

Follow chulri's method, or repartition your internal storage in Linux, mount it on the archos, and copy the data there. Then edit init.rc and change the data mount line. If it gets mounted in the kernel, you'll have to umount it first to remount it to the other partition.
hey guys,
as i'm trying to recover a deleted smsmms.db i was wondering if it is possible to mount the internal /data to my pc? in order to use recovery software i need the data to be mounted like a hard drive. thanks in advance!
cheers
Android 4.x offers encryption of the system or data.
I just wonder, what partition does Android encrypt after all?
Is it just /data or /system? Or some other?
Thanks.
Hi there,
I had an operating cm11 on my galaxy s4. Now I made a complete backup and then installed a cm12 prev version (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-orig-develop/rom-cyanogenmod-12-t2943934).
Because the author recommand to change from ext4 to f2fs I had to format the internal storage.
Know I want to restore only the internal storage (some explorer call it /storage/emulated/0 and some /sdcard).
Which restore type do i have to set in Philz Recovery to restore only this data?
Is it /data and /data/media?
Or is it anything else?
Thank you
Zoker
I installed LineageOS 14.1 into my Samsung S4.
My internal space is 16GB, but it isn´t enough.
I´d tried formatting my external SDCard as Internal Memory, but Android always return fails when I try it.
I already used apps like App2SD, but hardware warms and battery goes down quick.
I´m using WhatsApp and some online courses apps, and it´s enough to full fill internal memory.
So, I investigate and discober /cache partition allocs 2GB but use none and /system alloc 2.7GB but use 0.7GB.
I found some threads to resize S3 with CWM, but I´m using TWRP boot loader.
So, I´m needing procedures and or tools to resize /cache, /system and /data partitions.
Thanks!
