Hi everyone,
I have had a LG G5 phone since april 2016. Even after the version of Android 7.1 was released for this model my LG says that the phone is updated to the last version: 6.0.1 and there's no new versions available.
Can I have any advice on how to get it updated? Is it necessary to reset properly the smartphone for it to update to Android Nougat 7.1?
Thanks
PS. Oh, I live in Italy

Android 6.0.1
From the settings if I try to update the software it tells me that I'm using the last version for the operating system

Not the android version, but the software version. For example the one on my phone is RS98821b

I didn't buy the smartphone in a store close by, but through ebay. A guy sold it to me at a low price last year (May 2016) from Naples. Could this mean that the LG comes from other country and needs different way to update?
LG Bridge
This should work

Hello!
I got this phone for free, can I update it to Android 4.2? If somebody can point me to a tutorial (topic), I found several but since I'm new to the mobile world I'm kinda afraid of ruining the device. I think it's unlocked since I can put any chip on it without a problem.

PS: It shows no updated available, even after lifehacker .com/5946585/force-an-android-device-to-check-for-a-system-update
If the force update shows that this phone doesn't have a update available. Their might be some unofficial roms which are released by people other than your carrier but this might need you to root and install a recovery on your phone but it is highly unlikely due to the fact that this phone is a clone and doesn't have as big of a user base as the originals.
I just received another software update notification? I'm already running nougat. Does anyone know what this software update is?

I believe it may just be a security patch. Not sure yet. I always get annoyed with At&T because their changeling is always a month behind any update pushes.
It's supposed to be security update per the links below. However, for me, I did not initiate it, rather it started on it's own this morning. The result is a $700 paper weight that used to contain photos of my newborn. Cool. Anyone know a legit company that can do data recovery? It won't turn on, no response when connected to PC, no light when plugged into charger.
Can't post links... search for "att sending march 2017 security update lg g5 v10"
This is from the AT&T page:
Here is the current update: Android 7.0 Nougat
The updates
What's changing: Android device security updates
The details
Release date: March 23, 2017
Android version: 7.0
Security patch level (SPL): March 1, 2017

Could you guys capture the OTA so people outside us can benefit from it too?
I've just bought a used H850 in the UK (unlocked). It's running Android 6.0.1, and the software update checked tells me that there's no update available. Any idea how I can get Android 7 on this?
The hardware details are:
Model number is LG-H850
Hardware revision 1.0
Baseband version MPSS.TH.2.0.c1.4-00014-M8996FAAAANAZM-1.45732.6.48263.2
Kernel version 3.18.20
Build MMB29M
Software version v10c-EUR-XX
Check around the forum or go the LG Firmware site and you can download 7.0 for your phone and of course install it. Check other threads on how to do it.
I just tried LG Bridge. It found and installed an update, but I'm still on Android 6.0.1.
My software version is now v10dx-EUR-XX though.
The LG firmware update site just says to use the software update checker on the phone, which I've tried.
Is the KDZ file what I should be looking for??
I've just found a KDZ file on lg-firmwares.com which seems to be a UK version. Can anyone tell me whether this file can be safely flashed to my phone, which in an unlocked H850 running v10dx-EUR-XX:
H85020q_00_H3G_COM_OP_1206.kdzFile exist in our server
I bought an used s9+ which is blacklisted, I know the imei can't be repaired without using a paid service. But I want to know how can I update my s9+ to lastest android update. It's currently in the 1 of march of 2018 android security patch with android oreo, with baseband G965USQU2ARC6

You could download the modified Odin and SimFirm applications on your computer, download the fw then update through Odin.
Or, you could go to https://firmware.science and follow the easy steps listed at bottom of the page. However I'm not sure this method will get you to the most current update.
Can I jump from my current android version to the most updated one? Or do I have to go though in between past updates?
Does this method work for the snapdragon version with locked bootloader?

Using Odin you can jump to the most current. And yes, as long as you choose the correct fw when downloading
Hello, I would like to update my Bootloader-Unlocked Sony Xperia E5 to the latest firmware (assuming its 37.0.A.2.248) but I cannot find any helpful information online.
I tried using Xperia Companion but it told me that my device is unlocked and I had to get its standard software installed on it to upgrade it, which I could not find any information for.
I saw something on Sony's site about their Flash Tool being able to restore the standard software on a device, but when I tried it out, it would not detect my device (maybe its not supported(tried both system and fastboot)).
Model number: F3311
Android version: 6.0
Android security patch level: "September 5, 2016"
Build number: 37.0.A.2.108
If you need any other information comment down.
