Hello, I would like to update my Bootloader-Unlocked Sony Xperia E5 to the latest firmware (assuming its 37.0.A.2.248) but I cannot find any helpful information online.
I tried using Xperia Companion but it told me that my device is unlocked and I had to get its standard software installed on it to upgrade it, which I could not find any information for.
I saw something on Sony's site about their Flash Tool being able to restore the standard software on a device, but when I tried it out, it would not detect my device (maybe its not supported(tried both system and fastboot)).
Model number: F3311
Android version: 6.0
Android security patch level: "September 5, 2016"
Build number: 37.0.A.2.108
If you need any other information comment down.

Hello There,
Little problem here. When I try to update via PC Companion, it tells me that I already have the latest version, bit I don't think I do. Truth be told, I already messed up a lot with this phone in the past, but I calmed down, because it got so slow to the point of being unusable, Then I reset to factory, but there must be something wrong left. The info I have in the "About Phone" is:
Model Number: St 15 i
Android Version: 2.3.4
BaseBand Version:8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028D-56
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-perf
Build Number: 4.0.2.A.0.42
Any hints, please ?

The phone you have is not the x10mini (2010 device, E10i), but the 2011 Experia mini (without x10). It should be updatable to ICS as far as I'm aware, but that not only depends on your phone, but may also have to do with your carrier, and in how much they customised the firmware for your phone. Look for the Xperia Mini forum in the Sony Section of the main forum, they may be able to help you further.
Thank you

You can connect your device to the PC and through PC Companian make a repair and it will install the stock ROM for your device and everything will be alright.
It did not work
Thanks, but the repair procedure did not work as well, it says there is no software available for my phone, pretty much what the software update procedure did. I guess the problem is bigger, because as I mentioned before, I really messed up with the phone previously, I think there is some kind of version conflict in the device.
Cheers
Flash stock ftf file via flashtool or else tried SUS (sony update service)

Maybe you unlocked your bootloader? That would make any Sony tool useless. I guess the best way to fix it - use flashtool, as mentioned by others
Hi everyone,
I have had a LG G5 phone since april 2016. Even after the version of Android 7.1 was released for this model my LG says that the phone is updated to the last version: 6.0.1 and there's no new versions available.
Can I have any advice on how to get it updated? Is it necessary to reset properly the smartphone for it to update to Android Nougat 7.1?
Thanks
PS. Oh, I live in Italy

Android 6.0.1
From the settings if I try to update the software it tells me that I'm using the last version for the operating system

Not the android version, but the software version. For example the one on my phone is RS98821b
SOFTWARE INFORMATION
Android version: 6.0.11Patch security level:: 2016-06-01Based version: MPSS.TH.2.0.c1.4-00032-M8996FAAAANAZM-1Kernel verision: 3.18.20Build nr: MMB29MSW VERSION: V10dx-EUR-XX
I didn't buy the smartphone in a store close by, but through ebay. A guy sold it to me at a low price last year (May 2016) from Naples. Could this mean that the LG comes from other country and needs different way to update?
LG Bridge
This should work
What I have:
Sony Xperia XA Ultra
Model F3213
Android Version: 7.0 (Nougat)
Baseband: MOLY.LR11.W1603.MD.TC9.SP.V31.T1, 2017/05/10 18:31
Kernel: 3.18.35+
Build Number: 36.1.A.0.182
Problem/Questions
Too often, the phone is locking up completely where it will not respond to anything and I have to hold down Power and Vol UP + Down to force it to reboot. I find it odd as I've never had an unrooted phone do that to me before.
In anycase, I always try to root my android phones and I have plenty of experience doing it so don't believe you'll consider me a noob...
I was reading through [F32xx][Guide][N] How to root your Xperia XA Ultra (as noob friendly as possible) and it mentions that in order to do whatever a Universal (Dirtycow-based) TA Backup v2 is before I root the phone. but in order to do it, I have to downgrade to Marshmallow (ver 6.0).
Ok so I couldn't find a guide on how to do that let alone finding the firmware files for my phone in my region that is my variant.
Questions:
1) Is there a US Region version of Marshmallow for model 3215 that is downloadable somewhere? If not, I found other regions of the same phone model number (3215) than the US. (i.e. Latin America)---Could I use that without any issues?
2) Is there something specific that I can do for anyone else here with my particular phone version that may benefit you or the development of this phone before I "ruin it" with a root?
3) What is a TA Backup and why would I care to save it?
Thanks,
DrkImagination

I am trying to recover the original firmware to fix the os. But whatever I try to use it doesn't work as it says that it isn't compatible with this OS. I was using dload method to flash...
Build number: eva-c900b166
Emui: 4.1

Device originally comes from Ireland
Also I can't unlock the bootloader as the old unlock service is discontinued.
(for some reason the play store says that device isn't certified but it works)
Update: after using the firmware finder I was able to trick the updater but its currently failing to check package
