It is not that laggy on other phones and I think it looks very nice, aside from that low framerate. Did Samsung fail at their hardware acc for that?!

Boot animation is running at 200 mhz because it think that is still in standby, I think.overclock from [email protected] [email protected] that should solve the problem if it is one . I am not absolutely sure.

That would mean, the boot up process is working slower as it could, I don't think so. BUT it could be that the GPU is in "standby" while doing the animation. Any idea how to set the GPU clock via init.rc? Or is this a kernel thing?
Pretty sure that is not how the boot animation works. If you want a smother one you got to make your own with some custom frames in between the original frames. There is plenty info on how to make your own boot animation, SEARCH!

Thank you for crying around useless crap. Actually, I already DID my own animation, and also posted it in Themes/Apps forum.
The thing is that I really like the stock one! (Which can NOT be edited)
If it would be as smooth as the one on GS1, which is just the same, the animation would be just fine.

I think you are wrong in that assumption .
Why well the Samsung QMG boot files have been either edited or a QMG editor/software has been used to build at least one custom boot via QMG files that is not a zip but both of the bootanimation.qmg files with a different animation inside .

You got a link? I could not find a qmg one.
Just found this out: When you push the original galaxy s animation to our galaxy s 2 it is smoother but also way slower, seems like the number of frames is doubled.
does it really matter that the boot animation is bit laggy???
it's not like people stand around phones to watch the boot animation or that laggy boot animation hinders other functions of the phone...

It has nothing to do with the CPU or GPU clockspeeds, its all about the files used. I've been using the S1 for quite some time and some ROM releases have the smoother (Pre 2.1) animations while some included the ones that looked lagged ( lesser total frames ) What I did with the S1 was just to save the boot animation file on a pre 2.1 and used it on all of my flashes.
But really this should not be of any concern..

-The problem is that the galaxy S2 displays EVERY .qmg file to slow. It shows not enough FPS (around 4), even when using the ones with more frames from the S1 (about 20-30). This resoults in an animation that is waaayy to long.

..why it matters..
For a geek like me it does matter
Was searching why my Galaxy Note has a laggy bootscreen.
I flash many ROMs ...
Hi all.
Compatibility:
It should work on any rom by following this logic:
Builds (starting with r1) are Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow only.
Builds (starting with r17) are Android 7.0 Nougat only.
Builds (starting with r28 up to r37) are Android 7.1.1 Nougat only.
Builds from r38 up to r44 are for Android 7.1.2 Nougat
Builds from r45 up to r48 are for Android 8.0.0 Oreo.
Builds from r49 are for Android 8.1.0 Oreo.
Download:

Installation:
Flash the zip in your recovery
or
Auto-flash from Franco Kernel Updater app
Features:
1 - Legendary battery life
2 - Flash & forget
3 - Typical interfaces like display adjustments, sound control, vibration control, and all that boring stuff
4 - Bypasses the verified boot flag for Android Pay compatibility (root still breaks Android Pay but that's your own problem)
5 - Idle power consumption reduced to the absolute minimum (if you have wakelocks from 3rd party apps you're obviously on your own)
6 - Support for FKUpdater's Performance Profiles
7 - Magical support, I'm here every day, checking posts almost hourly, ready to help anytime (well, unless you fail to read the OP, which contains most info you need)
8 - Seemless integration with my app FKUpdater
9 - No crap placebo patches, or "magical" optimizations
10 - Probably more, check my github for all the details - the code speaks for itself

Kernel Manager for Franco Kernel demo
Disclaimer to moderators:
Slight OT is fine, but when users decide to act stupid they should be dealt with with the appropriate means - its really annoying for me when OT turns crazy. Please put the warning/ban hammer anytime any of you think there's lack of respect and/or too much unwanted OT crap - but if it doesn't meet this criteria let the OT posts alone. Thank you.
Cheers!
Current r1 is not yet complete, I think it only lacks sound control, but it's pretty much done.
Took me a little while to find the right balance, this little bastard lags easily, but this Kernel is pretty much a "clone" of FK for the 6P so I'm sure you'll have some fun with improved battery life.
FKUpdater will be updated tomorrow to support this Kernel and the final r1 release will also be out.
Any feedback about UI responsiveness and anything else that comes to mind, now's your chance to talk.
Two things to note though, EIS video stabilisation is enabled automatically with FK, just check your Camera app and you'll see it, and FK ships with a slightly cooler display colour temperature, and a very slight saturation boost.
I wasn't supposed to work on this device because I didn't want to shell out 450 euros for a device I wouldn't use outside Kernel/app development, but in the end I did it for you.
Enjoy it & you're ducking welcome.
Thanks much buddy. Will have to try it asap
Thank you! Been looking forward to this.

I think maybe we should limit the number of "Thank posts" on this thread and just press "Thanks" as and where necessary to show HOW MUCH we REALLY appreciate this Kernel coming to the Nexus 5X. Otherwise it will quickly fill up with Thankyou's instead of the real nitty gritty.
That would be very counterproductive indeed !
Just a thought....

Out of curiosity, do you have the exact values of what was changed? Just so I can reverse it if I prefer the warmer temperature?
Installed this kernel and bought the app as a story to the dev. But paid version of the app crashes on opening setting. This is just for information. I am pretty sure the app will be updated soon.
Original thread for Nexus 6P is located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...t/xthermal-mod-fast-charging-cpu-gpu-t3433784
Hi Guys,
I'm back with the Xthermal Mod.
But this time it is for Nexus 5x.
Introduction:
Nexus 5x is one of the best handsets we have now. No doubts about that.
Nexus 5x has also got one of the best Fast Charging.
But why I always get around 800-1100 mA current while charging?
Max to max I get 1400-1500 mA current.
Is this the best fast charging I can get?
Then I opened my thermal engine file and started working on it.
Goal:
Xthermal_Fast_Charge: Here I tried to boost my charging current/speed while keeping rest values to their default.
Xthermal_Performance: Here I tried to boost my charging current/speed + Same basic CPU & GPU tweaks are also applied.
Also tested with roms based on "N" aka Android 7.x.
Downloads:
Links for Marshmallow and for Nougat: See the attachments.
How to apply:
1. Download the zip
2. Reboot to TWRP recovery
3. Flash the zip and reboot.
Wait let it settle a bit...
Now check the difference using Ampere app...

I have flashed all 3 zips and no matter which one is flashed the script always reads inside of TWRP "Back To Stock"?
Cool tweaks, pretty similar to the thermal throttling tweaks detailed in this thread months ago: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/guide-thermal-throttle-tweaking-t3395681
I'm not too wild about the battery temperature tweak here. Li-Ion batteries shouldn't really exceed 45 Celsius when being charged. The problem with these batteries is that the hotter they get, the worse rate they charge at. On top of this, higher temps reduce the battery's overall lifespan. Bottom Line: The temperature threshold for the battery in our phones is there for a reason.
Thanks for posting. I am currently on ElementalX with various over clocking enabled. Will this interfere with that in anyways or cause instability?
this changes whatever changes i may have already done to thermal.conf?

Confirming this definitely works... I'm impressed truthfully. My charging speed was always crap, 300 mah with the 2.5 charger from Google, now it's 1750~ mah
Because I'm not sure, say I have a custom kernel, will this alter or negatively affect anything I already have going on? Or does this just modify only the charging?

Does this tweak work alongside the Thermal Throttling Tweak by Razorless. Lost my charging brick and using an iPad one and the speeds never get to what it used to be, would love to try this out. Thanks
So I wanted to write this quick and simple tutorial on how to get utter smooth UI. it only takes 3 quick things and you'll be set.
1. Use Nova Launcher. TOUCHWIZ has come a long way but it's still not where it needs to be.
2. Under developer options make all the animations .5
3. Under developer options turn on Force GPU Rendering.
With these three things done this phone is absolutely butter smooth and runs super fast.

You can install system UI tuner and make the animations even faster. I set it at 0.3 now. Also make sure you disable as many things as possible, things you don't use and especially knox and secure folder.
I'm grateful because I know someone learned something. But I thought this was pretty common.
I've been away from Samsung since note 4. Sad these devices still have that slight lag.
None of what's in the op fixes the issue in the long wrong. First thing I did when I recurved the phone but 2 months later, lag fest.
Luckily I got mine for free.

Same here. Not even the tiniest lag or stutter. Set my animation speed to 0.5x (I do that even on AOSP phones) and it's faster than anything. Apps load instantly. Battery life is great. Screen quality is unbelievable. Camera quality is sick. Best phone I ever had. Now when I see how many problems Pixel 2 and 2 XL has. I'm happy that I got this phone. Samsung is improving a lot. But next year I might switch to Pixel 3 XL(only if they will fix all these problems).
I think the Play Store and Chrome lag from time to time. The Samsung browser is smoother.
Mine I set it ot High Performance Mode, 0.5 transitions, force gpu rendering on 2d apps.

This shouldn't even be up for discussion. If your touchwiz UI is not smooth on this phone maybe do a restore or check for 3rd party software utilizing your CPU in back ground. This phone doesn't need 3rd party launcher or customization to be smooth.

Performance modes do nothing in terms of how CPU and GPU are handled all they do is mess with resolution screen brightness.
Also force GPU 2d is doing nothing for you as it was put in place long time ago for apps that didn't utilize GPU for 2d. This day age with new android and touchwiz your GPU is being used and you could test this buy enabling *show GPU view updates* in dev options and navigate your UI and you will see the screen flashes red that because your GPU is already being used
^^ Thanks for the tip. I have moved on to X.

Well good for you Some people can't handle the options you get with Android. At least you know your limitations. Best of luck on the X !
Note....this isn't sarcasm. Coming from a technical background, if you don't need or use the features of the note, by all means go with something simpler for you to use! My wife loves her iPhones..... I have an i7 MacBook pro and I've built several hackintosh towers. I'm not against apple but their iOS can't do what I need it to physically / technically. The note is the best of the best of the Android platform at the moment.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
I though about the X as only thing really holding back on ever getting iphone really was lack of OLED as im not into rooting and custom ROMS anymore.
Wanted X more so for game optimization but is way too much $$$ for what you get.
Glad I didn't though the note 8 *qualcomm*is huge surprise in terms of performance compared to like my note 5 that would thermal throttle way too fast and frames would drop. This phone has no noticeable thermal throttling with games so games that support 60fps run smooth and sustain performance and course you cant beat the quality of this screen my UHD mkv movies look so good on this.

✨MysticBlaze347's "Let's Be Friend's Mod"✨ Updated: 02/07/20 [Real Absolute Final]
This is a Mod is a Magisk Module that I have been working on for awhile and do to time and other life related endeavors, this will be my last mod. It has been a interesting ride. But I have to put my energy into other things.
The mod I bring to you is based off of LKT™ so it's universal for phones that it's own v1.8 supports so please refer to that thread for more information, but this NOW allows for most - if not all - other kernel tweakers to be compatible upon user customization choices. Allows for other features to be embedded for more battery life with no performance loss on top of your mod choices. Just be careful like usual.
I personally cannot update much further so please don't expect normal updates. I only modded original code, but I only know how to do so much as I am self teaching.
The Module self decryption after install will decribe more in detail on what it does.
If you do not like or want to use anymore, just reflash and it will uninstall.
I hope you enjoy and that this is beneficial to you as it is to me. ?
New Year with a bang
Universal: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261628131
Adds a few more tweaks. Can't guarantee GPU/CPU info in prop. Have no idea how to fully fix for universal showing. Feel free to try yourself.
V20 Enhanced: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261718754
Change Log for the V20
- Finally fixed GPU info for V20
- added SeLinux State
NEW:
- added some battery improving GPU tweaks {not controls} (still other k.t's compatible)
- added systematic read battery mAh capacity
- added boot timer (about 3 minutes after full boot)
- added low audio flinger tweak for better battery
- added doze enhancement while screen off
- slightly more cleaned up look
- other kernel tweaks may show depending on kernel such as adreno idler, gentle fair sleepers disabling, arch power, and many more.
- all located in LBFM.prop
- New added install method described below
Newest Change
- Removed accidentally re-enabled (NOT enabled anymore) Counteracting CPU/GPU controls. No longer an issue with other K.T's
- Enjoy
Test Results (at least for my cell):
The 7h 24m = 3200 mAh battery
The 10h 44m = 4200 mAh battery
The 1d 3h (27 hours) = 10000 mAh battery
These results are while on a Live wallpaper, lowlighting auto brightness, WiFi, Comfort View, no GPS, no Bluetooth, several Mods running such as - This (LBFM), Device resources monitor, Second screen Status bar, LSpeed for (scheduled boosting, OOM killer, disabled multitasking limiting flag, and forced GPU rendering stuff), AKT (Self-Customized Xana Extreme profile), various build.prop tweaks (Camera, Power, and Rendering related) 3C for notification readings of battery status's, and many others.
These readings are AT MOST SOT (screen-on time). I would have done average, but it's was lil difficult since too many factors can happen. You will just have to do that yourself ?.
INSTALL/UNINSTALL METHOD:
If you flash this over the previous version, it will uninstall that Version. After reboot, then you have to reflash your desired version again for it to correctly install. I know, reboots suck.
OR
You can go to TWRP and double flash this to install in one boot instead of two.
THIS IS AN AT MOST SOT PIC FOR MY CELL - YOURS MAY DIFFER.
Would love to see your results for this mod if you are willing .
