Phone working on Android 6, keeps rebooting on android 7 - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've got an V10 H961N HKG and i used bridge to update to android 7.0 however that won't work.
Then i rolled back to 6.0 and it worked again.
then i updated to 7.0 with uppercut and i get the same problem. can it be fixed?
When on 7.0 it goes to erasing for just a second and then shows the lg logo and then the animation but the lg animation keeps crashing and restarting the phone.
I tried both 30A and 30B variants no result.

Thank you,
I hard reset it before the upgrade to 7.0 and after installing 7.0 but the problem still persists, it still crashes at the LG animation.
One thing i also notice is that in LGUP the version stays at H961N20T, instead of the 30A that should be installed.

did you download the right KDZ to flash in LGUP?
user UPPERCUT tool instead of LGUP, it solve most of the problems, works the same way as LGUP.
download this firmware: https://lg-firmwares.com/download-file/?fileId=9897
search in google for "uppercut xda" in google and you find it easy here..download and flash the firmware above and i think you are solved.

It still crashes at the animation.
It seems like this phone is allergic to anrdoid 7.0.
The thing that i find strange is that in uppercut the version number of the phone stays on H961N20T even after upgrading.

try to flash 6.0 and then do a factory reset after flash the 6.0, dont set anything in the phone leave it untouched...turn off the phone after that, with the finger in volume down hold it and connect the phone to the usb on PC, they go into download mode and flash the 7.0.
again when flash it do another factory reset, see if this solve the problem...if not you may have some problem with mainboard of the phone.

I already did this, multiple times now.
It won't work and i think it has something to do that also causes the problem of the version number not updating in uppercut.

Optimus one bricked! Help!

My optimus just got bricked very badly.
I flashed v10a through kdz to downgrade to old baseband.it all went well. Then i restarted the phone and it was stuck at bootloop. So i pulled out the battery and again it was stuck at bootloop. I thought i did something wrong while flashing . So i tried to reflash v10a through kdz. But then a dialog box came with an error. Then i tried to to flash v20b but the same error came again. My phone was still in emergency mode.
Nothing was working so i pulled out the battery and now its not responding at all.
Not switching on, my pc doesn't detect it , it doesn't charge when i connect it to a charger.
Please help me as you are my last hope.

Try reinstalling the LG drivers and try KDZ again. If success, and if it keeps loading the "android" animation, hard reset.
If all fails, LG is your only hope I guess
Its not meant sad, but i wonder why users are hopping every day/week from one rom to another only to try every unstable rom.
And no: i dont say it because i'm a developer - its pure logic i think.

Some developers just releases stuff fast...like fserve..no offence though.
here is what you should do:
1. download again the kdz file from the net (possibly you have a broken file)
2. close all LG icons from taskbar (lg updater, lg **** near of the clock) !!!
3. turn off firewall
4. plugin the phone via usb
5. start kdz
6. flash again kdz file
7. it should complete the update normally without problems

Trying to go back to Stock P769

I recently installed CyanogenMod with the Unlock Bootloader for noobs and I noticed the internal SD wasn't mounted. So I tried to flash an ICS ROM to see if it would work but it didn't. I was stuck at the boot screen. I tried restoring an ICS CWM backup and a JB backup but it didn't work. Currently, I have a flashed JB backup with a messed up touchscreen (because of the way I unlocked the boot-loader). It won't boot and I don't know how I can install the stock ROM. I really just want my phone to work at this point. I don't know if there's any way to use the offline method to flash a .kdz since I can't access android. I tried hard resetting, but when I do it starts up Clock Work Mod which I believe happens because of the way I unlocked boot-loader.
I'm trying to use this guide to fix it using SW upgrade. I did find a .bin and .fls which i'm downloading right now.
If anyone could help or give some advice that would be great. I really just want to use my phone, I don't care about flashing a custom ROM right now. As long as my phone works, I'll be happy.

Let me know if this works for you! Also you can do the offline fix just as long as you can get into S/W Upgrade mode. But I am curious to see if you can use the bin/fls files tool that you mentioned to get your phone working again.

Thanks for the reply! I'm planning on trying this method out tomorrow and ,if you don't mind, could you please elaborate on how I can do the offline fix with S/W Upgrade mode? I'll check back on the forum tomorrow!

Well just get your phone into S/W Upgrade mode and follow this tutorial. Getting into S/W Upgrade:
1. Get stock ROM here.
2. Turn off your phone
3. Press and hold the vol + button while inserting USB to computer
4. Keep holding the vol + until you see the S/W upgrade mode
5. Flash ROM with tutorial mentioned above.
Good Luck!

Isn't that just an infobank of all the KDZs? I'm pretty new, but can you flash a kdz with the offline method? To clarify, I was asking how to flash the kdz with the offline method in S/W upgrade mode. So ROMs/KDZs are essentially the same, right?
Edit: I read everything over again and realized what KDZs really are. I'm just wondering now if I could just hard reset in some other way because the LG Update Tool doesn't recognize my phone even though I see all the drivers. It's stuck at 15%.
Edit 2: I tried the method I suggested and it resulted with "Magic number does not concide".
So I'm stuck here with a phone that is stuck in bootloop, and has CWM installed. Can anyone help?

alright, this is all from memory but the offline flash didnt work as well for me when stuck in weird bootloops.
Step one-going back to online flash---->
A---
the easiest way i found was to go to C:/windows/system32/drivers/ect/hosts
right click>open with notepad
there should be two lines at the bottom
"127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com
127.0.0.1 csmgdl.lgmobile.com"
i would cut them out and paste them in a text doc in the same folder for reference later...
but either way you should remove them from the hosts file and save
B----
Make sure your small server is closed! once you minimize it it should go down to your status bar (shttps)
Step two-LGMS---->
make sure you have LG mobile support installed or install it.
open lg mobile support
install needed drivers for your phone
power your phone off/remove the battery
put battery back in
connect it to your computer holding down the volume up button
S/W UPDATE mode should pop up, if it doesn't preform and hardreset and try again til it works (it will)
then in the top right corner there should be a button or two click them both until you see
"restore update" or Update restore or something to that effect
select that
and let it ride man
i got my phone ****ed many times and just had to keep redoing this until it worked. if your bootloader is truely unlocked you can probably go through all that again and get CM10 working, i did but im still working through kinks.....
GOOD LUCK feel free to ask any more Q's about this process if you run into any problems

Hello! Sorry for the late reply. Before I start, do you mean LG Mobile Support form when I unlocked the boot-loader, if not could you provide a link to it? And by the way, when I tried hard resetting, the phone sent me back to CWM, any ideas why?
I was reading the CM10.2 notes yesterday and I realized there isn't supposed to be an internal SD card showing up when you plug in your phone to your PC. So I did tried fixing what wasn't broke.
Anyway, thanks for the info!

Such a late reply, sorry! I did nothing. Before you replied I flashed CM10.2 but never bothered to boot up my phone. Preparing to connect my phone to my comp, I couldn't start CWM so I figured " I'll just leave my phone plugged in for a few hours." Two hours later, my phone has a blank screen, i'm thinking "This shouldn't be blank? What the hell?." I pressed the power button and was greeted with Cid. I screamed out loud: "**** yeah!"
If people have the same problem as me all I did was: Reflash my my phone with 10.1, stock, 10.1 again, and then 10.2. I did that, only that.
What's funny is that I never checked to see if my phone was working after I flashed CM10.2. :silly:
Can't wait for Kit-Kat. Thank you for keeping up with my post, CROSSFREEZE I appreciate it!
Edit: I might submit a really specific and simplified version of the "Unlock Bootloader for Noobs P769" for the take of contributing.

Stuck at logo after flash

Dear friends
My phone was delivered with some SuperSU, and some days ago when it asked to be updated, I accepted that option and after the phone/SIM couldn't connect to the network so I could only make emergency calls.
After reading several articles on this site, I've tried to flash through Odin 3 several times, but every time when the phone reboots, it first erases something with Android logo and after that is stuck at Samsung logo picture and nothing happens. As mentioned, I have tried to do this activity several times but nothing helps. What can be done now to proceed?
Model is SM-G925F and I downloaded the firmware from Sammobile (SM-G925F/PAK/), and its following version which I have been trying with:
5.1.1: G925FXXU3COJ1_G925FOJP3COJ1_G925FXXU3COI9_HOME.tar-md5
Thanks.

What android version was the phone on before you flashed the firmware? 5.1.1 or 6.0.1?
How long did it stay on the samsung logo? Was the led lit up blue?
Power off phone.
Once off hold vol up + power + home together.
Keep holding them buttons and phone will boot into recovery.
Once in recovery wipe cache partition and wipe data/factory reset.
Try that first it should work.
Keep me updated
Thanks bro, tried this and it didn't help.
However, I discovered following error message:
dm-verity verification failed...
Need to check DRK first...
I think it was 5.1.1. before flashing. And the Samsung logo is there for hours...haven't tried days though.

Update it using Samsung Smart Switch.
Update to mm ROM
What actually worked in the end was "SpaceX-Kernel_MM_RC2.1_G925F.tar.md5". Thanks to all suggestions.
However, I am back to the original problem now. The phone cannot use any service provider, tried with both foreign and local Norwegian sim. It simply says that only emergency calls possible. This was the initial problem which I tried to solve by flashing ROM.
Any suggestions regarding how to deal with this?

LGUP for MM vs990

Been trying to restore my v10 for a few hours. I was not aware it isn't possible to go from MM to LP on these phones. Needless to say, the phone won't turn on. I am stuck in download mode trying to run LGUP, but it keeps getting hung up at step 'Modem' which is the furthest I got so far to restoring it. I finally have the androidNet modem in my device manager, so I'm not sure why it's getting held up. ADB does not recognize the phone and the phone is sitting at 0%.
I attached a screenshot of LGUP. Any advice helps.

Bootloop - No ADB or Fastboot available

First sorry, i'm french.
So I've installed AIO Theme Expander package for substratum. It worked fine then I decide to uninstall it. It's now very bad.
My phone is on a bootloop. Seeing the Lineage OS booting animation for infinity. I try Power + Volume UP, nothing, just bootloop of lineage; same with Volume DOWN.
So I try to let the phone in bootloop to test adb or fastboot on my computer, nothing, no devices detected.
What can I do?

First of all you need to do a hard reset of your phone. if your recovery is working then flash a new rom and then a new kernel.
secondly if there is no recovery then connect your phone to pc and flash one via odin. note : if odin does not detect your phone, you need to drain your battery to 0% then connect it to pc then odin should detect it and flash the rom and bootimage asap.
at last if nothing works, you have 2 options : service centre method or manual method
1. go to service centre and send the phone to repair. they can fix such problems easily even if your phone is rooted because this happened with me a long time ago when my samsung phone got bootlooped and it was rooted with warranty void. But the service centre fixed it for me for free and no objection.
2.MANUAL METHOD : DO AT YOUR OWN RISK!
FOR THIS YOU NEED TO BE GOOD AT HARDWARE.
GO TO GOOGLE AND SEARCH RESET PHONE HARDWARE AND YOU WILL GET THE ANSWER
thanks and i hope this helps you.

Probably choose the europe one. Amazon shipments are from europe. For other glitches, just install gapps from google.
As of the H81510D, you should install the one which is on your phone else you will end up with major problems.
