Bootloop with XT 1650-03 - Moto Z Questions & Answers

Hello,
My Moto Z was working well until yesterday when it started rebooting again and again. The only thing I made before this was the security upgrade of august 2017. I don't know if there's a link between these events.
I tried to factory reset but the problem is still here.
Has anybody met the same issue since this update?
What can I do?
I'm on stock ROM
Thanks!

If your phone has inserted a micro sd card take it off.

Enter in recovery and clear cache & dalvik cache. I'm not sure if these options are available in stock recovery anyway...

I've already removed all things in it, factory reset and wipe cache. There's no other options available in the stock recovery.
I'll send it back to the seller.

[Q] My phone doesnt turn on after installing a ROM

I had a ROM then it had a new version so I downloaded the new version then I flashed it and I didn't like it.
So I installed the older one again and now it's stuck on the Samsung logo when it turns on it was like that for 11 hours.
And the only way I can fix it is go to recovery and install back to the newer version...
How can I get back to the old version?
Only was is if you made a nandroid back up of the old rom
Or start from scratch again

When it bootloops go into recovery and factory reset and reboot. That should bring you out of it but if it don't then format data and cache in mounts and storage and wipe dalvik cache in advanced. If that don't work still then format data, system and cache then Reflash the rom and reboot. One of them should bring you out of a bootloop

[Q] Galaxy S2 Won't factory reset

Hi,
I am having some issues with my SGS2 and wondered if anyone had any suggestions before i send it back for repair. It is a stock sim free UK model, not rooted. There is no SD card installed just the internal 16gbyte flash.
I was noticing more force closes on apps than normal so i decided to reboot the phone. I then noticed that my recent text messages had disappeared back to the 19th Jan. So after sending some more i rebooted the phone again and they had gone..I then deleted all the text messages and sent some more, rebooted the phone and the old ones were back and the new ones had gone back to the same date.
I thought i would then just factory reset the phone and start over again. However it won't factory reset. It goes through the motions and sends me to the bootloader screen where i wipe data and clear cache. However still it refuses to delete the stuff on the phone or factory reset it!
Things i have tried..
-Factory reset both with security menu and keypad sequence
-Reset by going to bootloader from cold boot and wiping data and cache
-Mouting it as a usb flash drive in use developer mode and formatting the drive through windows (even this doesn't get rid of the photos on the flash drive)
-reflashing the default firmware with odin
Basically i cannot do anything to the phone to make it reset or delete any of the things on it. I can go into the gallery and delete all the photos but as soon as you reboot they are all back!
I don't want to root the phone to try and solve the problem as it may need to go back but as an engineer it is frustrating being beaten by a phone, so i wanted to see if i could get any advice from here.
Thanks in advance.
Help :crying:

I don't know if it's possible in the standard android recovery, but can you go into recovery, then mounts and storage, mount system, format system and do the same for data and cahe (mount and format). Everything will be lost! Then flash your firmware again through odin.

[Q] System ui has stopped working Liquidsmooth 0806

I'm posting this here because I don't have enough posts yet for the actual Liquidsmooth thread in development.
My phone is an XT912 flashed to Page Plus.
I was running the 3/27 spyder (if I remember correctly) version since March with little to no problems. Yesterday, I decided to update the rom to the 0806 spyder version on slot 2 (Safestrap) with PA mini GAPPS. I first did a dirty install over the previous version (read on the thread that some people had no problems doing that).
Things seemed to go fine for a few hours until I tried to delete some files on my sd card and internal storage while it was plugged into my computer. Some folders showed that they were empty (which they weren't), they were fine when I checked in ES File Explorer afterwards. So I rebooted into recovery to wipe the cache and dalvik. Reboot the phone and system ui immediately was stopping, over and over again. I got the phone back into recovery, did some cache and dalvik wipes, reinstalled, wiped again, and rebooted. System ui has stopped.
I booted back into recovery, factory reset slot 2, wiped caches, reinstalled the rom and gapps, another wipe, and rebooted. Profit! The only thing I had to do was futz with some settings to get 3G working again. All was well for the rest of the day and night until I decided to update Viper4Android. Viper rebooted the phone and I was back to the system ui crashing again. Meanwhile, I had rebooted the phone several times to fix the 3G and all was fine. Tried the whole full wipe and reinstall a couple of times (as per one of the posts that said to wipe, reinstall, wipe cache, reboot system, boot to recovery, wipe caches, reinstall, wipe caches, and finally reboot system. No go.
I saw that I'm not the only one this is happening to in the LS thread. Anyone have any ideas? I really can't get in to change any settings because the error starts as soon as the phone is booted. I have to try and get it to reboot in between tapping "ok" on the error and tapping "reboot" and "recovery".
I have created rom slot 1, installed liquidsmooth build 07/06, it is stuck on boot animation i did all like factory reset wipe cache dalvik cache... again i installed by removing data and system partitions and it was installed and started but it got hang... i again went to recovery wipe cache and dalvik again stuck on animation logo.... i tried before CM rom it was working fine...
Device is i think XT912 cdma and gsm.. i am using gsm

Is the phone branded Verizon? If it is, use the Spyder version. If not, UTMS Spyder.
I gave up on the Liquidsmooth rom. I went with AxxionKat and it runs so much better. Not one problem.

since new nightly build already available (LS-KK-v3.2-2014-08-16), it will be good idea to upgrade, just flashed this morning & everything is fine except moving from dalvik to ART caused bootloop..
I'll stick with AxxionKat. I've had absolutely no issues with it thusfar.

factory reset / hard reset / twrp full wipe

Hi guys, i was wondering what are the differences between doing a factory reset, hard reset or doing a full wipe (data, cache, dalvik cache, system and internal storage) with twrp.
I want to restore my phone like it was when i bought and opened in the box. Then i will flash a custom rom (i have twrp installed). There are different terminology used to perform similar/same actions regarding this.
Considering that after the restore i will install another rom different than the original one, should i do just a full wipe with twrp, or a factory reset/hard reset will erase better the files in my phone? Are these same actions?
Should you tell me what action is the best in my case?
- Factory reset means it turns the device like when you actually bought it
- Hard reset means using power key combinations to reset device , Factory reset & hard reset is the same it can also be done using on screen commands
- TWRP full wipe means it wipes everything even the system , that means even Android skin is wiped which leaves your device with just Recovery & nothing installed
Conclusion - TWRP wipe for flashing every new ROM , if you're flashing just update of same ROM don't wipe anything directly flash zip file & Gapps

Thanks! Another question : we said that factory reset restores the original android system and this is basically the only difference against a full wipe. Ok, but is there a difference between wiping partitions with twrp and performing a factory reset? is wiping different from erasing with factory reset? does factory reset erase better the files than the twrp's wipes? or are these exactly same things?

In TWRP if you uncheck system & wipe the rest ie - data , cache , dalvik cache , internet storage that's equivalent to Factory reset , but if you have a custom ROM & want to get back to Miui there's a different procedure let me know if you wanna do that [emoji106]

Ok,that's fine I already reverted back to miui from Nitrogen os using zcx twrp, because battery life didn't convince me and I have more confidence with the stock miui camera. Now I only want to clean my phone because I installed much things which I currently not use. I will stay to miui 8.2.2 global stable which is different from the miui global developer which is the native version of my phone =)

Hello. I have a Note 5 that I just bought and tried to root. But I screwed it up and managed only to install TWRP, without root. Now the phone only goes into loop mode. But I have TWRP 3.1.1., apparently with all the TWRP buttons working (including adb sideload, terminal, file manager) The question is, how can I restore the phone to factory reset? I cant seem to get to the option that wipes the data and does a hard reset. I can delete the system but what good does that do me if I can;'t get a working system
I was on Android 7.0, Nougat.
Thanks in advance!

Okay first try factory reset in Twrp or wipe everything except system ( both are same ) If this fails ...
Search for custom ROMs for Note 5 or Simply flash Lineage OS if it's available for your device .
Device must be able to boot now & If this fails ....
Flash stock firmware , this requires PC & everything will be reset replaced with stock recovery & ROM

"com.samsung.ιpservιce has stopped" spam

Hello, i have a problem with my friends phone (s6 edge). After some time it upgraded to 7.0.0 his googleapps crashed entirely, no playstore etc, so we had to restore it through the Samsung smart app -> emergency firmware etc after we took a backup of his files.
The phone was completely restored BUT after connecting to the wifi or data to connect online, the tittle message spam him all the time. Did so google research, even got to recovery to reset it again to factory but i had no luck. Custom Rom is a no-go since its still under warranty. I though of restoring it to 6.0.1 through odin but ive read thats not 100% working.
Any insights?
Thanks in advance

Try a package disable app to stop it from occurring.
