I changed the screen from my Redmi Note 4 Global but unfortunaltely I had an Tianma panel but i could not find Tianma replacements so I went to BOE. But the screen is still recognized as Tianma and this causes the touch to be imprecise and respond badly to touch events(sometimes it doesn't detect them, sometimes ghost touch appeares). I tried to change screen type from fastboot commands but still no change is the OS (I have MIUI 8.5 but before I had RR 5.8.5 and still no change, even when installing MIUI unsing fastboot and cleaning all files).
Can I somehow change the screen type from Tianma to BOE in the kernel/basic phone info?

My redmi 3s screen was broken and I managed to replace it, altough I found the repair very difficult. The new screen works but the touch calibration is a little off. The bottom part of the screen registers touches about 0,5 cm lower, this makes typing difficult. The upper part seems to be ok so I am typing this with the phone upside down... Is there are way to manualy calibration the touch screen? I already tried the touchscreen calibration app but didn't help, maybe because the app registers touches in the upper part of the screen...

The screen lights up with the power button.
But swiping the screen does not react.

case 1
In Recovery Mode (TWRP), I can swipe the screen to unlock even after sleep.
Case 2
I can use it without problems until you sleep or lock after powering on from power off.
However, after locking with sleep or power button, the screen lights, but you can not swipe.

Well, this can be one of two issues:
1. Hardware issue, and a very weird one. Almost one-of-a-kind.
2. What MIUI version have you tried? 8.5.10 MIUI 8? You can also try MIUI 7 or the MIUI 9 beta. Try all of them and see if any of them works.

My Redmi Note 2 has the MIUI 8 8.5.1.0 and no problems here. For MIUI 7 you can try 7.3.3.0 and for MIUI 9 have you tried 7.9.15? If not try these ROM versions and report back.

I have flashing rr 6.0 and cm 13.0 and so on based Android 6.0. But except dinolek lineage worked, other's lock screen touch not work sometimes. It's wired. I don't think it's hardware's issue
Exact same problemfor me too. It's not Touch panel problem. I ordered new Touch panel + LCD + frame replacement. After replace still same issue.
If the device goes to sleep -wake up, touch panel stop working.
After reboot phone works perfectly until it sleeps again.

I have a Redmi Note 3 SE (kate) running lineageos 14.1 official. a while ago, the screen broke, so I ordered a new screen assembly and replaced the broken one with the new one. the screen works perfectly, but the digitiser doesn't... it _always_ works in TWRP, and seems to work when fresh flashing lineageos. after a reboot or update however, it stops working. when booting to recovery, it works perfectly, but not in lineageos.
has anybody got any idea what to try ? the assembly clearly is not broken, but I'm stumped. clean flashed multiple times, always with the same problems.
check that the flex of the screen is well connected
My screen is replaced too, try agni kernel it have option to fix replaced screen issue. But double tap to wake is gone, and sometimes after screen off, touchscreen doesnt work you must turn on/off the screen and it will work again

Hi. I replaced my broken display (and digitizer) with a new one on my mate 10 pro. So after i replaced it started to detect simple touch as knuckle touch (knuckle touch is a special type of touch with your knuckle on huawei phones that is used for screenshots, split screen and more...) . When i drag or touch screen , sometimes it draws blue lines. So i decided to permanently disable knuckle gestures. And guess what? After i disabled all of them screen didnt work at all. I had to connect usb-to-typec mouse to my phone to activate knuckle gestures again so that screen would work.
What can i do about it? Maybe reset everything and install android pie with different rom, cause i think EMUI is awful. Will it help or its just a hardware issue? I've read that some tehnicians do hard reset after screen replacement, maybe i need too?
P.S. There are 3 knuckle gestures : Split screen ,screenshot and app draw open. If i disable two of these and let one be enabled, then screen works. If i disable all of them screen doesnt respond to touch anymore.

Is the screen has screen protector applied? I tested my realme 3 pro screen, sometimes my fingers didn't register on the test app, and what's even weirder is after several test, when I put one finger, the app register multiple touches. BUT, I turned on the "pointer location" from the developer options and nothing seems wrong. All touches are registered normally.
What is the possibility of the pre applied screen protector messing up the screen sensitivity?
